I've experienced this myself several times and have also heard from others: My own dinosaurs that aren't on a walk slip through the floor or are teleported somewhere. My base on Island is by the water. I went to get some meat in the swamp with the Giga - and suddenly I see 2 of my dodos trapped in the stone - nearm swamp. The other day, one dodo was killed by a piranha and one by an itchy. A Mosa baby that was on passive was suddenly outside the base. This is happening more and more...

A fellow player is also losing more and more animals because of something like this... It's really not nice any more. If the shop isn't doing so well (Compliance Notice@Nasdaq), perhaps the last fans shouldn't be driven away by force......

that is GPU freezing/crashing on some level. it can be caused by a few things. if it is not fully frozen and can recover, increasing windows' timeout length can help prevent the game crashing. it wont do anything for indefinite freezes or full crashes ```

To apply (sets the value to 16 seconds), run these commands in an administrator command prompt:

that is a lot of RAM, though. if it is 4rpc, i would not be shocked at all if it is spewing memory errors, which are quite good at causing haunted stability issues like that. have you already fully stability and error checked it?

I first was using the g-raptors and putting the eggs in the saddle but then the eggs wouldn't hatch. I would have to remove the saddle then cryopod the g-raptor to get the "stuck" egg off of it. So tonight, I tried just putting the eggs next to an a/c unit to hatch them... upon hatch, the babies disappeared completely - no where to be found. Didn't even see red text to claim them or anything. They were placed ontop of metal foundations/ceiling tiles which I've never had an issue with before....

on both ark SE and SA, never, ever hatch/birth babies on platforms/ceilings/foundations - on both games there is a high likelihood of them dropping through the structure and appearing underneath the game world - use cheat ghost and look down and you may find them if they aren't dead yet

I've never had the issue of hatching any kind of egg in that particular area. Anyways... that still doesn't explain why they won't hatch on a g-raptor saddle. Most of all of my eggs hatch with no problems UNLESS it's an argentavis egg.

no clue with gigantoraptors, I don't really use them for hatching eggs myself, but definitely avoid placing anything on structures when it comes to raising them. I learned from when I used to have wandering achatina/dung beetle and baby dodos, they just fall right through

I've heard about it several times on Facebook and today I was affected for the first time: I log in and miss a Mosa baby. Gamelog no entry. I check the tracker. No Mosa-Baby. I check the ARK savegame viewer to see if it's "lying around" somewhere else. Negative. Disappeared without a trace. As I said, there are more and more posts about this on FB. It may be that I was even affected before - I have such a fun project with many dodos in a small space - 2 were teleported to their deaths (another bug), I was able to save 2 and overall it looks a bit thinned out...

Is the topic of teleported dinosaurs or dinosaurs that disappear without a trace already known?

that is your GPU freezing/crashing for some reason. lowering res to 1080p presumably stops it from being overloaded. you can change a setting in windows to give it longer to recover before the game is closed, but that wont fix the root problem, which is your GPU crashing ```

you dont know what your display resolution is? it is not something that has a "default", and you need to ensure the game is set to the correct resolution

clouds being pixelated is mostly unrelated to that, though. you can increase their quality via commands, but it will hit performance pretty hard, especially on an older GPU like that

So did already 8 times alpha dragon now. 3 of 8x this happened: Used theriz, daedon, yuty. Everything was smooth running boss was down in 5 min. 25 seconds after dragon was defeated one theri randomly dies because he harvested something from ground? I saw on other theris their health going from 90% to instant 60% after the "harvesting"? No seconds between just poof 30% of life gone. Am I missing something?

The dragons fire breath saps away 20% of their hp, if he hit them with it just before he died then they will still loose that hp. I remember back on ase I lost a yuty to this lingering effect after we teleported back out of the arena. The visual fire on their bodies and the hp lose aren't precise, so even if the flames on their bodies have gone out the hp lose hasn't completely finished yet.

Worst part is not even doing runs, but when flying normally loose stam, and you see a rock ( looks like some where to gather stam), you land your there a sec, and black screen. You and your tamr both gone. And you where just on a tame run, or out flying around.

Thats whats messed up is there no warning anything, its not like everyone spends all day trying to figure out how to mess around with a broken game with the clipping of graphics.

in asa, when playing on the server that i play on and travelling to another map, when spawning i get kicked with a timeout error. when trying to join again without a message i get sent back to the main menu. when trying again it works fine. We had this issue on ASE with a bugged reaper. We tried so many things. Finally got ONE thing to work and that was to find out how close we could get before crashing, get to that point and put in the command “destroytarget”. I’m not sure if that would work for ASA. Or maybe turn on Dino cary and cary something to him to kill him. You’d have to drop a sacrificial tame down there tho to agro.

So I discovered this bug following ascending off the Island right (tested via save backups, applies to all difficulties). Basically once you ascend and try to download your character on Scorched, you can select the spawn in region, spawn in, you get the fun little Helena intro cutscene, and screen goes black before sending you back to the character creator and not spawning you in. At this point your character is gone off the download list "forever"

After figuring this out, I tested this with obelisk transfers and yeah same situation applies

I've done a bug report, steam discussion, and a few reddit posts over it and yeah it looks like there's a few other ppl with this issue, but it just hasn't gotten a ton of attention ig bc SP is just like that? Idk

I haven't tried transferring on SP. the items cloud worked fine for me.
as a work around, you can either copy the survivor data over to the new map through the files. or use a mod like dino depot to just switch imprinter over to a new survivor and start a new one Ferox_Think

yeah, your save has nothing to do with it. probably luck.

nothing that does not normally change during gameplay (like spawned dinos, structures, harvesting, player stats) is saved. dino spawn tables never change during gameplay, so they are never saved

about the only time you can have issues with older saves is with engrams in crafting structures not spawning newly-added items from an update

I know its a bug because;

  1. I have 10 refrigerators full of food on a platform cart. When logged in the through is full, some refrigerator are empty, indicating the autofill food cart is working.
  2. The juvy/adole are surrounded by the same dino, in the same stage of maturity. In logical if one starve, all should starve, but only a few.
  3. Only happens when offline, and the death timer in log is the exact same time, even for two different dinos.

Hello guys, I already sent a message about this issue and already tried everything since then, after May I just gave up on ASA and stopped trying to join servers since it would just always kick me out saying "lost/timedout connection to host" or "kicked because of battleye, reason: client not responding." I've already tried switching from a wireless connection to a wired connection, from wifi to ethernet, and testing to join with ethernet, then switching back again, vice versa, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, verifying my game files, even going to local files of the game to uninstall the battleye client and reinstall it which did nothing, and also toning down the quality from 2560x1440 to 1920x1080 and setting everything to medium quality except for the shadows, that is low, and some other things such as fluid plant animations and turned off all settings that tend to crash your game. I do run this game on a GeForce RTX 2060 Super with a Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700KF CPU @ 3.80GHz, 3792 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s), I am planning on getting a new and much better PC later on and migrating my data since my PC Model can only upgrade to an GeForce RTX 3070 TI maximum and the latest being the Geforce RTX 4090 Super. Although when I first got the game I was able to run the game quite well with the settings I'm using right now and then the error started happening out of the blue

track their starting stats, then breed them until you have one good male and several females, the females don't need to all have the same stats, they just increase the speed at which better stat combos are produced in real-world time.

then, with each generation, look for a baby that has more of the good stats, kill off a breeder that has less of the good stats comboed, and in a few short generations, you'll have a breeding pair that will produce males and females with the same stats. Once you have those, then you'll want one good male and many equivalent females to prepare for mutating

Even if they only have one stat that's good, and the rest that are garbage, that's exactly how you get that good stat into the strong gene pool.

Once they're stat-matched, aim for as many breeders as you can handle in a session (I run 15ish/each across three breeding projects atm, keeps me busy enough).

If on ASE, at this point you can start looking for level changes from hatching runs. A mutation will ALWAYS produce a color change (though sometimes in a region that doesn't show visibly) -- and it will sometimes produce a stat change (or a double mutation is VERY rare).

Here's the next trick... your females should never have mutations on them, as breeders. You only want your single male to get swapped out when another male with your desired mutation is hatched.

If a female has a desireable mutation, take her off to a different area, and mate her with a stat-matched unmutated male until she produces a male with her mutation. Then take that new male back to your main breeders.

basically. you can transfer a mutation to a male too, just for your bulk breeding, since mutations are rare (every couple hundred eggs -- I see about 1 mutation a week for my rexes with 15 breeders)

by keeping mutations only on the male, and keeping females unmutated, you can stack mutations past the typical limit of 20... since the females will still be able to provide mutations, even if the male is capped.

    3a. Hatch eggs until a male with desireable mutation (eg. Rex M144 HP3) is born. Swap him out with previous generation (eg. REX M144 HP2).
    3b. If hatched female has mutation, breed her with a base-stat male (Rex M144 + Rex F144 HP3) until she produces a male stud. That stud is now your new breeder. Mutated female can now be discarded, unmutated male put back into storage.

Your harem of 15+ breeding females should never have mutations.

If you breed a mutated female with a mutated male, then each generation will add mutations to the mutation-cap counter (20M/20F). When that counter is hit, those animals will stop producing mutations.

I’m using @tropic fjord’s settings for single player and I’ve noticed since moving to scorched earth I’m having a hard time with imprinting before the baby grows up. Stats like Weight/Ox/Food are largely irrelevant. I like maxing them anyhow, but that's to make sure they go long periods of time between eating so I don't have to log in daily.

If you're on ASE, the parents, whatever their stats are, should be the same across the board, since your main cue that a mutation has happened is noticing the +2 or +4 levels a baby has. Even if your breeding pair only gets the "best" HP/Melee from the parents, and is stat-stable with worse ox/weight/food/stam, doesn't matter as much. Some people like to keep those stats low even, but that's personal preference.
