my first recommended steps would be underclock the VRAM from 1188 (assuming it is stock) to about 1050, see if that helps. if not, delete your modified config files, although i cant imagine what sort of engine config you could have changed to break the game that badly. if neither of those does any good, that basically confirms a severe hardware failure

The phoenix's blaze attack doesnt count for gaining xp when getting kills with it. Other than that im pretty satisfied i finally tamed my first one. Ah i still wish i could give saddle-less tames armor though.... ha and im suprised it doesnt keep me warm on the cold desert nights 🤔

They all have saddles with 125 Armor.

Also, I never did the bosses. Should I start from the lower difficulty to familiarise with the fights?

Where can I report GM abuse? Someone had a GM destroy my base while I was gone for a few days out of town I come back and the land I had claimed in PVE had all been wiped and is now pillered by someone else. yeah they should. its more convenient for organisation and finding out if there was a mutation since the levels of both parents are identical. you'd see an extra 2 levels on the baby rather than having to claim it and check it manually for mutations or check for different colours

It used to be just tameables on the island needed. You can check what you have that has counted though. Look at the island dossiers, tameable creatures will have a circle in a corner on their image. When you've tamed one that counted, it will have a tick there. In case you don't know, you have to be standing close enough that the game asks you to name it when it actually tames. So filling it with kibble and picking it up later won't count.

I can’t figure out the difficulty settings for solo on Asa. Every time I press hard and then change settings like harvest amt it reverts back to easy mode. I also put it on max difficulty for higher lvl Dino’s but I still get a ton of lvl 1-20 and at highest lvl 80s

Anybody know how to fix this? I just wanna be able to find high lvl Dino’s to tame/ breed for a solo play

In game if ur trying to find high level dinos no matter what difficulty you have to search through the map and the spawns for the dinos to get lucky and find a higher level dino of that kind (for example) if im looking for a high level rex the first rexs i see wont always be high level unless i get lucky. So basically u sometimes have to look for them for a while.

Difficulty in Dino levels are always 30 different levels I believe. So finding a level 5 dodo is just as rare as finding a level 150 one with your difficulty set to 1

@dense ledge When running and you try to jump, the thyla's forward momentum stops and it drops to the ground. I noticed today when just running over terrain and it goes over a rock or small cliff, its forward motion stops and it drops. This started with the release of SE.

So I just came back to the game and Im crashing anytime I run the game with DX12 and I looked for fixes but cant find any that work that don't have you revert to using DX11. Was there ever a patch put out ot fix that or is it still on their bug list. All the posts I could find about it were 6 months old. I had none of these problems when ASA first launched

Everything in vaults, storage boxes, fridges, dino inventory or anything that hold anything is invisible. I can see it in my inventory, I can search and put it back in my inventory, but I can't see it in the structure or tame's inventory.

I have tried uninstalling mods, restarting game, respawning, transferring maps, restarting my PC and I verified game files on Steam. Not sure what else to do besides wait for an update or uninstall/reinstall the game

Its an "Ascended" thing. They brought them back early so everyone can clean up and organize the bases but the toss out I without a fridge was stopped due to PvP. You can carry a generator, cryofridge and some gasoline with you to make a temp setup to throw out in other locations other than your base but it takes the gen running for 5 minutes for the fridge to activate. Otherwise you just need a fridge at your base.

directx bug due to.. something. a lot of faulty engine things seem to cause that one. foliage, UI, possibly some stuff with lighting. i am not sure if framegen causes that one, but it crashes a lot of people with nvidia cards

worth disabling as much as possible in settings and reenabling it in chunks, see if you can pin it down

i also have some suspicions that corruption due to faulty CPU/memory may cause some frequent cases

and you cant really "swap out" directX, not how anything works

having relatively recent graphics drivers is your best bet as far as compatibility, but incompatible drivers should simply not start the game

if you have any d3d.dll-based hook mods, those should be removed. there should not be any "dx12 file" involved, and trying to replace parts of the game with random shit definitely wont help

yes i have a solution for you for this and 99% of all hung crashes players have. my friend made a guide for it on the ark forums it involves editing registry file so that windows will stop terminating your gpu driver early when ark partially freezes it up with requires for a moment. which then causes ark to stroke out and go home alone. you can dm me for the guides forum link along with anyone else

I found that doing a wild Dino wipe every now and then helps a lot. I managed to TP back out of the alpha Brood fight without crashing finally by doing a dino wipe beforehand.

. it states fatal exception DEVICE hung? thats not a problem with your machine thats a problem with ark flooding the gpu and windows policing the system very aggressivly so you do not see system lock ups. if a device has hang time past 1second. windows will execute it without mercy and force a reload. in this case dx12 and the gpu drivers will get cut and reloaded. this causes ark whom is using it exclusive atm to have a stroke and error out. the solution is to edit registry to allow device hang time for gpu functions to vary from 30seconds to 60 seconds. of which when this occurs you see your computer freeze for that time period instead of crashing out

do you have a 13th or 14th gen intel i7 or i9? they are having severe issues with corruption/failure due to unsafe automatic overclocks on a lot of motherboards, random/fake out of memory errors and crashes are a common symptom, and unreal engine tends to suffer from the memory corruption more than usual

hello,, I am on ASE PS4 apologies in advance. I ran into a bug with breeding and that I am wondering if anyone knows about or has experienced it. I have a small unofficial cluster and have customized dino spawns with various colorsets applied via Beacon Omni, as well as active Winterwonderland Event. So my issue is that I tamed some shadowmanes and noticed that they will not mate or get the mate boosted buff at all or only one will. None of them are spayed or neutered, and yes they close enough at least a foundation away. The reason I bring up the colorset and active event, is in my search I ran into a reddit thread mentioning that event colorsets can bug out the mating causing dinos not to recognized each other as mates. Is that a thing? Is there any why to fix it, and if some cause? Thanks!

that sounds bizarre, color sets should not change the dino class ("species") or really impact anything at all except the generated colors, but i dont have a better explanation

Thank you for the reply. I agree, it is bizarre that a creatures color region or applied colorset would affect it. I dont think its the spawncontainer either, some caverns can disable taming but i used the oil field container on extinction. Aren't Shadowmanes are two different classes due to their spawn command? I tried using the apply nearby settings to active mating for all of them, but the Male shadowmane would not recognize the others, , it would display error message "No nearby shadowmanes" .but vice versa the female did apply its settings to the Male. I tried cryo podding, transferring, uploading and re-downloading. so it is a strange bug.

i am not sure what you mean by this? there are several shadowmane classes, but only one that can be legitimately tamed

Well I appreciate the help. I am on PS4 so no mods. that is interesting my understanding of the seperate spawn code and ones that ARK wiki and Beacon uses. I assumed it was because they both have vastly different abilities. Much like Reapers also have separate spawn ID for Kings and Queens. I also know a number of creatures have multiple use-case variants within the game's code that are not ment for typical game play.

I believe I found the issue, and you are right!
I admin spawned the standard Lionfishlion_character_bp code and it did spawn both genders randomly via the SDF command. They both acted as expected.
I tried it also with the Lionfishlion_character_bp_female ID does spawn in a female shadowmane but it does seem they are treated as a totally separate "species" as they do not offer mate boost, and in turn no mating with the original ones I spawned in.
So I believe I just need to update the spawn container override to ensure the intended one is spawn. Although my curiosity is still there if it is possible for a spawn container or colorset to affect spawns like so. Well thanks for the help!

I tried spamming the roar and the Stamina went back to full after every roar, so I guess the 2.4k base Stamina is fine.

i like to spam melee on my yuty. since weight and stam fine base in bosses. and hp useless if your doing things right in first place . dragon fire you regardless in that fight and its % based so that hp number means nothing but the melee. has 1 use. dragon fight. when the dimporphs and pts come for me. 1 yuty peck. bye bye. 🙂

We use an admin panel mod in our server. I'm wondering if there is a way to go delete past player profiles as they are duplicating in the admin panel mod. We want it so that the player keeps their current save but it deletes their past ones. All of the EOS IDs are the same so is this something we do based on Sample #?If so, how?

You should get a death essence whenever an adult dino that has a baby stage dies, regardless of how. I've had them when I've killed them myself and when they've died to other things. It won't appear in their normal inventory, the body has to be harvested and it will appear in a death bag then.

I ran into a problem with an oasisaur build, any time you leave or go out of render, the building on the oasisaur disappears and usually if you ride the thing and get off it re appears, but with the oasisaur I guess you to far away from everything and the stuff just stays gone?

looking in unreal engine, 0 is none, 1 is FXAA, 2 is TAA, 3 is MSAA (obsolete), 4 is TSR, which is basically TAA + upscaling

FXAA will look best but have worst performance, typically. using temporal upscaling typically forces the upscaler to also do antialiasing
