My game freezes first and after a couple seconds sound freezes too and remains frozen. Happened once only that it unfroze and i was able to play for about 30 mins and then the problem returned. I'm not hitting any thermal limits my temps are stable, i have 60 fps in game until it freezes, wildcard fix this already, i've basically given you money for free.

One thing i found out is pulling out a torch during nighttime causes me to freeze instantly, which probably means it has to do with Lumen or something about particles

I see you still haven't had it fixed either, its such a shame when i enter into the game i get thrilled even though i know i will probably crash again but i can feel it a little i guess, and then the disapointment hits...I'm afraid they are not even looking into it, if it does get fixed it will happen sometime when scorched earth releases. Cus releasing dlcs has been fixing stuff for wildcard in ASE..might be the case here also lol.

no idea. The worst thing is the lack of communication. I have no idea when they will actually focus on this. I was able to increase the time between crashes to around 30-60 mins. But it still freezes a lot without crashing which makes it annoying to play. ASE has worse graphics but apart from building its more enjoyable for me.

I am not getting crashes at all, i have never gotten an error, it just freezes always, its so annoying...and ofc ASE is always an option again but its such a shame to have to revert to ASE even though you own ASA.

I guess i wasn't getting crashes because i didn't let the error appear, i just left the game frozen for 5 minutes and now the error appeared wtf

I don't think you can from your xbox. You can rent a server from nitrado or host one yourself on dedicated hardware

Uh you can just do non-dedicated to play with a couple friends... to be honest I doubt the xbox has enough resources to host an ark ascended server and play the game. Dedicated server takes about 10GB of RAM even without any active players. Xbox series x has like.. 16GB total? No way you could still play the game

And that's with them optimizing memory usage. It was using about 20GB when the game launched on my server

Hosting dedicated servers off a console for this type of game isn't practical by any metric. Not sure why you expected it to be available - it has nothing to do with their decision making. It's entirely a matter of feasibility

Unfortunately that didnt help for me. I uninstalled all mods, deleted save data for local and reserved space and even did a full reinstall and nothing. But saving worked fine on my alt account and i eventually deleted my broken save and started over and its saving again. It really seems like something is causing corrupted saves unfortunately. Everytime i save and log off, i cross my fingers its all still there next time lol

@bright galleon you will need to make sure your on 100% flat land and in a straight line when you go away from it. the new ai system will prevent it from following you if it doesnt see a straight path to you. example if you have dino follow you and you walk out of the base and you dont have a ramp at the door and it drops a foundation down the dino can no longer see you as a viable path to follow.

PC has the same options. You can download the server client via Steam but that's not part of the base game. It's also free to download whether you own the game or not

People with computers specced in the same range as an Xbox would be able to try running both but then they would quickly realize they don't have enough resources to play the game at the same time. Many people hosting their own servers are doing so on separate machines

Correct, unless they have some special bundle sale. Each map is a different actual server instance. The more practical thing to do if you don't want to go that route is to join someone else's server. There's thousands of servers out there that other people are already paying to host

It's not practical to just swap like that. You would need to move the world and save data back and forth each time you transfer... would take a ton of effort each time you transferred. Your theory would work outside of that however

It's a debug/dev version of ark that is looking into Dave's file at WildCard

But it's not supposed to be, so it can't find anything and it runs into a locking conflict and crashes

So literally nothing you can do to fix it, Dave's gotta fix his nonsense

Well the average person is expected to play on one of their official servers or an unofficial community server.

Even if you could host something more easily you still need to know how to port forward on your router so people can join, and that basically excludes normal users.

Going from no server to a running server for me takes about 3-4 minutes. Then maybe 5 minutes to configure everything how I want it as far as settings go. It's not a complex process

as long as you have those as well as maximum difficulty on, 150s will spawn they are just incredibly rare, as I think the chance of high level spawns was severely decreased, my server runs on a max lvl spawn of 150, i have 170 hours in game and I've only seen probably about 4-5 150's without dino wiping-

Does anyone know how to fix freezing when entering a server or singleplayer it used to only be in character creation but I got around that with putting -dx11 in launch but took it off now that I got past. U probably have something turned on u shouldnt this happens to people with "high end pc's" this is actually a common issue they turn everything to the max which is a bad idea on an early access game and a game that's badly optimized at an extreme level so my advice is reset settings to default or make all settings low and turn all settings off and slowly up the settings one a a time to see what effects your fps and what doesn't and what makes you crash and what doesn't

If you get the bug where when you jump off a tame and it looks like the camera is like behind your eyes? I guess. You can eat and run around and drink and such but you can't open doors or ride dinos. If you have a tribe mate with a flyer they can pick you up and drop you immediately and it fixes it. Instead of you having to log back out and back in.

Any series s players have a solution for instant crashing. I have been doing better on the series s however my partner has been having the opposite where he has been on 7 fps and can't stay on the server pass 10 minutes. We have tried turning off everything but it doesn't help him. if its too slow it will be past the mature rate of dinos.

at 100 mature rate with cuddle interval at 0.06 and singleplayer settings off, there are a ton of dinos that can't imprint

@edgy hull If you get the error when connecting via the server list. Attempt a connection to the desired server, copy the ip for the server from a source like battlemetrics, then go into singleplayer open the console type "open ipadderesshere" and wait.

I was having an issue for a while where I would crash at the loading screen, if I had changed my graphics settings at all.

Maybe try resetting to default graphics then connecting?

So being an Xbox player, mods are new to me for ark. On Ascended, we have Automated Ark mod, love it to pieces, but one piece of the mod confounds me. The OCD vaults, accessing the OCD menu from the wheel freezes the screen, or doesn't open, and in the inventory the button to access it doesn't work most of the time, is there a way to get it to work? Or will I just have to wait for some sort of patching?

Try the command saveworld as it saves but I have seen that pressing it more than once can crash the game and if that doesn’t work try restarting your console or deleting the game and reinstalling the game to see if that fixes your issues

I'm not sure, maybe the server spawn settings are off? Usually I fly past wyvern areas while building or doing other stuff for awhile and eventually it works

There have to be wyverns to spawn eggs so maybe try killing any wyverns there and getting new ones to spawn

The eggs will spawn at the same level as any wyvern nearby, whether male or female. Only thing I can think is maybe the eggs were "expired". If someone had collected them, it would despawn the wyvern
