I'm working on a port fortress for a sort of minigame.
There's security systems to bypass, hostile dinos guarding things, and a whole play-mission to solve a murder mystery!
Players investigate the scene, while others cover them from the ships/choppers.

@wind umbra Simply put I had to do it the old fashioned way. I placed walls along the edges and sloped walls going up to the top so that I could place roofs along the middle of edge side. Then I stacked roofs side by side spreading out from the middle.

How to Align objects with the centr of a foundation. Place the triangular wood ceiling above the back and align it with the innermost crevice. Best way I found so far. Edit: If you have S+, you can just make the floor appear as Wood, too and it works at least for two sides of a room. EDIT2: People talking about ladders are missing the point. Ladder is for making things straight and parallel on a foundation, this is so you can find the middle of a foundation once you have straightened your piece with the ladder.

On Xbox at least I’m not sure if it is the same for PS4 but u go into a single player world and open up your admin command bar (press SQUARE, TRIANGLE, L1 and R1 at the same time to open it) and then type in “prevviewmode 1” then when u leave the single player your game will look like this

So, I made a small mess of pieces a week or so ago when trying to make a side hut, and somehow accidentally got a fence foundation to snap at half wall height on top of some fences - but only in this spot.
Now I can build on it and make half-height structures here.
Cant figure out how I accidentally did this, but Id like to do it elsewhere too. I tried but its not working. :/
Does anyone know what I might have done here?

Merry Christmas everyone. This is my little Christmas gift to the server I'm on. Even planing on handing out gifts on Christmas day. Sometimes it's just so fun to be an admin.

Behold! The DooMLog X!!
Built on a motorboat, featuring walls and floors snapped at a half-height vertical offset to others, which let me finagle half-walls and 1.5 high rooms. With the platform structure and radius limits set to 5 on a pc/xbox crossplay public unofficial server (no mods!).
Has a dozen cannons situated on two separate decks. 2 Ballistas and a catapult. As well as 4 Auto-Turrets (2 under the boat).
Managed to just fit all the necessary parts onto it before maxing out the piece limit.

This is the ceiling in my crafting area above my replicator and 6 indy forges. There is no actual ceiling, but rather a tek forcefield on a central spire suspended over the middle by catwalks bridging the gap between the central spire and the outer wall's upper lip. Since I am on gen 2 I can just use my tek suit to fly in and out through it. The upper portion of the forcefield is going to be my astrodelphis pen.

My walls are supposed to be Black Dye painted (with the old Black Dye)
But on the paintbrush it had said Transfer Node a while ago, idk what it says presently.
I havent repainted my walls in years. Wildcard keeps repainting my walls to different color codes (once we had deep blue, and then back to solid black, then this no rust again). No rust walls is pretty, wish I could get 'No Rust' as a paint color.

Another battle galleon for my pirate fortress on lost island.
10 cannons, 1 ballista, 1 catapult, 2 autoturrets. Made to send other boats down to the inky black doom of the deep sea!

Also, for anyone who needs an easy trick to offset floors at half-height:

1. Fence Foundations snap at half-height against the sides of stairs or sloped rooftops. (Can remove stairs after)
2. Snap a Wall on top of the FF, then a Wall under that first wall.
3. Ceiling can now snap between the walls. (You can snap a railing on top of the FF after to replace the top wall).
   Remember the Fence Foundation usually needs a wall or railing on top to support the wall underneath to support the offset floor.
   This trick works when building on both land or platforms. Used it in my last 2 ships to make the lower cannon ports.

My castle, my 1st 4 days ever on ark. Though i had help from friends.

I worked the walls, and have cents built a catwalk for the roof.

The stairs off to the window, leads to a hallway, that takes you to the avery. Not shown.

This is the main entrance, Also.

Not counting the wyverns den, there are three stories, and two wings. Off the keep, prihty sure the 2nd floor is vacent, that stair, besides the main room entrance, is the only other except, it leads to the workshop.

The 1st and third floor shair a stair case, that lead two a forth floor. The patio in the last floor is for the upper meating room and its barque, i have yeh to photo graph the 4th floor, or birds den.
