You can use a stryder that has the tool that will pull from a player using a drill nearby, or you can harvest with a chainsaw and manually fill its inventory

#

With tek legs equipped you can get a ton of materials fast this way.

You could also use a wyvern to harvest and then transfer to the stryders inventory if chainsaws or tek legs aren’t an option

If you died after it finished the log will show you, if it’s still taming you can pull up the tame tracker. If it’s still in the tame tracker it’s not dead.

Sometimes putting in a ticket can help, especially if you're playing on officials. Otherwise you're pretty much on your own. But yeah, my tribe got wiped by meshers but we managed to save a bunch of breeders and upload them every 12 hours until one day just... poof Game over, man. Game over.

All I can say is try to have multiple copies of everything and try to avoid moving all of the best ones at the same time. And also keep in mind that ultimately, it's just a game. But yeah, I'm currently taking a break from the game because of too many similar problems. More recently, I lost 2 pocket Gigas and level 4 chibis to holes in the map on L.I. (I'm sure those holes will get fixed eventually... But life goes on.)

Most mods can be added and removed whenever and generally worst that'll happen is you'll lose any modded dinos/items/structures or items inside modded inventories (but there's also mods like Dino Fixes that are buff based so you won't lose any of the creatures it edits if you remove the mod. In the case of ark additions, it's new stuff so you'd lose anything on removal
