Also as some context I cant use cheats, I got stuck in a rock once without a weapon and rather than wait to die or anything I decided to no clip and using commands breaks my worlds everytime. Stops saving my games, glitches, loosing tons of progress even if I use the save game button

I love ark I really do, paid for every season pass that came out. I'd do it all again even knowing how broken the game is. A survival dino game that's actually good is so hard to come by in my opinion, I just wish they made it less buggy/crash-tastic. I started playing about 4 years ago

hopefully ark 2 will be better considering theyre starting from scratch and the reason ark 1 sucks in terms of bugs is because its code is too bad to be fixed.

I heard the reason why ark 1 is so broken is due to the devs first times making a game, not sure if it's true but great concept for a first game if so, and that the code was broken when the added anything. That it was due to being released for early access rather than having a true solid bit of game. Someone I used to know said when they got ark there were only like 5 different dinos available and little to do, again not sure how much any of that is true.

Another difference between DS and non-DS is that the DS is expected to ONLY be running the server and NOT the client. However you "can" run a client on a DS but it isn't recommended.

Okay listen to what I am saying lol, I had a melee Rex mutation line going, during one of the breedings I accidently mated the mutated female with the mutated male instead of a non mutated male to pass the mutations on properly, I did it twice without realizing it, so I only had SIX working mutations into melee, but because of the mutated breeding mishaps it ended up saying I had 15/20 when I really only 6/20

I have my tribemate ride a male allow, I park a female allow on top of a quetz with platform, I pick up male allow with quetz feet then fly the quetz near the titanasaur and let my tribemate use bleed attack when we get close enough, then fly away and wait 8 seconds, rinse, lather, repeat without a scratch on us

Anyone know why findmutagendrops (and also gotofirstmutagendrop) aren't working? The Mutagen bulb indicator is up but no-one on the server can find it. We had one recently that was bugged in the mesh and we found it using the find command, but neither are working this time around.

Don’t trust the dododex recommended tho, mammoth is by far better for wood. It has higher base weight, large AOE, and even a higher weight reduction for wood (75% compared to 50% of casteroides).
Plus it even has a separate mode to get more thatch instead of wood on top ^^

These “efficiency ratings” make oftentimes absolutely no sense sadly, same for thatch.

Yes quality increases harvested resources, it’s about the damage and not necessarily about quality per se tho 🙂
Like there are asc picks with like 200% but crafted journeyman’s picks with maybe 210% so the journeyman’s would get you more resources in the end 🙂

But there’s a cap on resources afaik, like a max number you can get from a single tree e.g.
I’m not a hundred percent certain about this tho and if a super high damage dino / tool would even reach that cap on official settings.

I’ve seen / tested it with meat somewhat before, at a certain point I noticed my gigas don’t get more raw meat from a paracer for example, but it was with very varying melee dmg gigas. But I think 1800%+ didn’t make a difference anymore.
Gotta make a sheet one day with distribution and variety to properly test that.
But would be super handy to have a confirmed info on this for like metal etc especially 😶

Ahm depends a bit on your skill but generally I’d say yes. They spawn in hordes so separating one might be a bit tricky but their torpor drops super slowly (and much slower than beavers) plus their huge size makes shooting them easy 🙂
Maybe try kiting one into a trap with a flier or sth and shoot it from a rock nearby where the others can’t hurt u or sth like this 🙂

Mammoths aren’t much slower than beavers and 20% ish percent weight up and your speed slows. Having each stack only weighing 12.5 instead of 25 can be huge esp since their weight is much higher too.
Mammoths can and WILL be more efficient as they carry more and faster overall.

They only do the heal tick like once every 30 seconds, and at max heal 400 a tick. If you have a dino in instead that deals 800 or 900 dps that is way better than using a daedon

If you have a high health dino, the max health healed is 400 per tick, with ticks at like 30 seconds apart. A normal bossfight shouldn't take more than 10 - 15 min, so at most you heal a few k health

#

If you have another 800 dps dino, it'll deal 50k damage or more in the same time. The boss fight will be shorter, and your dinos will take less dabage

#

If your health isn't high enough to counteract the damage they take to survive, having a daedon is not likely to make a difference

#

It does make a huge difference if you ride it though

#

If you do the math, in almost every scenario it doesn't make sense to have a daedon in the bossfight

I would make an exception for thenoverseer fight, solely because nof how long it takes to get through the cave

But back when ark first came out storage boxes couldn't be hurt by turrets, so you could put it just outside of the enemy base range, and throw a dodo behind it, the turrets would aggro on the dodo and waste all their ammo trying to hit the dodo but hit the box
