There are high level animals on all Ark maps, I like to tame 130 and above if I can as sometimes a 135 has better stats than a 150, watch videos on breeding and learning about how mutations work. You can use different animals for different bosses, rexs aren't always the best for all the bosses or mix them with other animals, but most call for a Yuti for the buff it gives.
