If you're wondering about the Glowtails and Ravagers they are inside the Aberrant Cave, the entrance is beside a large Waterfall right next to the Snow region, keep in mind though the Place is a dungeon and filled with dangerous creatures like Bats and spiders

Not sure if that's possible, but you can maximize your chances with owl pellets and making sure they're happy.
I never leveled crafting skill above 160% though

so maewings have a slide, while in slide you can break most nodes and keep sliding if you use slopes and such also if you hold down jump and let go while sliding you will do a power jump.
to control the speed of flight you need to pitch up and down or side to side to keep momentum up
once full speed is met you can keep flying at that speed if you just keep head slightly pitched up you well know by the way the body moves kinda like it locked in place
