Anybody know how to fix a save by chance? I got pushed through the mesh and it deleted my inventory and character, sure whatever I decide to go to a previous save, but apparently it's a save from the very beginning of gameplay instead of one of my manual saves from the main menu, and it deleted all of my progress. Is there any way to reverse that, or is the safe feature just a waste of time?
This is all in Singleplayer

I'm going to do some science.
I have my pagefile on 2 RAID0 HDD's (500gb x2). After my update finishes in about half an hour, I'm going to swap it onto the drive I have ASA installed on (512gb SSD) and see if I can drop the update time to under 2 hours. Then after that update test, I'm going to swap it to the boot drive (256gb SSD) and compare the time to update.
This won't kill my pc performance at all (yes, yes it probably will, considering the specs of my system. It's a miracle it even runs, just like ASA!)

Anyone else noticed that the Low Quality models for almost every dino smaller than an iguanadon have the eyes horribly messed up?

They are unevenly low polyed, so one eye becomes larger and pointier than the other and it's offset so one eye is sunk in while the other sticks out like crazy.

I don't mind LoDs too much, but when it looks so bad and is literally less optimized than the original model because it's lopsided... I really can't ignore it.

Hello, I've been doing several gamma outposts (Lost Colony). The same scenario keeps repeating itself. I destroy everything, I kill the enemies, and then the mission tells me there are 1 enemy, or 5, or 3, but there are no enemies. After 3 minutes, the number of enemies killed suddenly becomes 0, except that the boss doesn't spawn. I don't know if you have the same problem, but it's not helping me progress. Is there a solution?

apparently, there's a failsafe in which if 2.5 minutes passes after an enemy or multiple have glitched, ya can open the vault without a key

I'm having a frustrating problem with my solo host. I created a dedicated server on Lost Colony and enabled the option to search for dinos using the Dino Finder mod, as well as the Bob Tall Tales pistol. However, when I'm on the map, it doesn't load the entire map and doesn't find anything. I tested it after loading the map while flying over it using the fly function, and then it appeared. But after I'm at the base in the corner of the map, it goes back to not finding dinos again. Do you know anything about this? Is there a way to increase the map loading range? I've tried both dedicated and non-dedicated solo hosts, and it's the same thing.

but generally speaking, ya can only get skins via defeating bosses, someones in artifact caves and killing Alpha creatures which not all drop them

all add a lot of skins that ya can unlock

There are tons of Custom Cosmetic mods for ASA that you can install that gives you cosmetic items. Works client side so doesn't even need to be on the server. Otherwise Event (Christmans,Valentines...) times are the best time to farm cosmetic items.

I don't know if there are any legitimate ways of obtaining Santiago's Axe right now. But it is in the game files so you should be able to cheat spawn it in.

I looked it up online and apparently, ya can use any 4 Meks even Primitive to get a Mega Mek with 1.6 million HP and deal more damage to it

I think the Alpha King Titan intentionally deals tons of more damage to the MegaMek.

Probably uses the same multiplier the King Titan uses against the other Titans. Likely for the same reason of preventing them from completely trivializing the fight by having them mindlessly face tank it.

Unless they changed the canon with no retroactive changes to explorer notes, Santiago died with the last Mek the group had, serving as a distraction/short lived defense against the corruption attacking the camp so everyone else could escape.

Santiago may have designed the MegaMek but he never took it or even saw it in action.

You setup the server with whatever mods you want on it, and whoever connets to it will auto download those mods directly.

the only known solution right now is to disable that feature which ya shouldn't be using in the first place, at least not on non-clustered servers

I could use some help navigating with this Rock Drake. It's been a couple days, but the flaws are massive.

1. Randomly crawls horizontally when I'm very clearly looking up.
2. Loves to jump in the exact opposite direction it's mounted with, right clicking doesn't appear to let go and leaps anyway
3. Using the shotgun in first person makes it IMPOSSIBLE to turn, I have to constantly unequip and reequip it to simply MOVE

Honestly, that’s weird. On my RTX 4070 Ti, i7-12700F, and 32 GB RAM, everything runs perfectly fine on high settings at 1440p (2K).
I’m playing without DLSS, and performance is still smooth with no major issues.

Might be something specific going on with your PC — drivers, settings, or maybe something running in the background. ARK optimization isn’t perfect, but it definitely shouldn’t be running that badly on similar hardware.

Got it. If other games run fine, then it’s most likely something specific to ARK. Here are a few things he can try:

• Do a clean GPU driver install (use DDU, then install the latest drivers)
• Make sure the game is running on the dedicated GPU, not the integrated one
• Verify game files and delete the ARK config folder so it gets rebuilt
• Disable all overlays (GeForce Experience, Discord, MSI Afterburner, etc.)
• Check that Windows power mode is set to High Performance
• Run the game in exclusive fullscreen, not borderless windowed
• Turn off RTX shadows / Lumen / Nanite and test performance again

ARK optimization isn’t great, but 14 FPS on this kind of hardware is definitely not normal, so something is wrong on the system side.

(I’m communicating through AI because my English isn’t very good. Sorry if anything sounds off.)

I know my stuff and how handle this, do this twice already, nothing changes for me, tested now without DLSS and FG in 1080p at High Settings and same max 20FPS on start easy location.
I notice that forcing DLSS4.5 and Play on PresetM helps a lot, got in 1440p on High with DLSS and FG around 80FPS with nice latecy so that fix for me issue for this time... Maybe on PresetL will be much better but quality M is good for me.

1. 240Hz, VRR, Gsync 1400p - its my main monitor
2. 144Hz 1080p FreeSync - set as second

Unplug second give me boos +30 FPS in game.. so thats strange and going to deep investigation of nvidia control panel settings also Windows 11 settings for monitors...

And then...

Forcing VRR on Windows Settings and then Forcing 240Hz VRR on Control panel to force stable 240Hz fix issue with FPS with both Monitors working.. and strange is that in game VRR works even we force stabe 240Hz. Its just stupid but Microshit F*** again here
