Are you talking about an ASE character from old Ark that was sunsetted? The only way you can do that is renting a server to play unofficial. Which not many people play anymore, your best best is to start a new character on ASA.

However, after taking control of a thrall, my level remained at 195, but my experience dropped from 2.8 billion to just one million. If I drink a respec potion now, my level will be permanently reduced from 195.

Hey guys, i'm hoping i can get your ideas/advice. A friend and i are doing a story run of Ark (Island->SE>abberation etc) and we have the settings quite boosted on the island just for getting back into it and to play around with them (we need them raised somewhat since were both busy and don't get tons of time to play/grind)

When we go to Scorched we're hoping to do a soft reset with reduced setngs so we can experience Scorched somewhat normally but aren't sure what to transfer over, any suggestions?
My current rough idea is that for the overseer we get one shot at alpha, one shot an beta and unlimited at gamma, but only one completion allowed, so whatever difficulty we are able to complete it at will determine what we can bring over (i.e. if we beat the alpha we can transfer over 1 Dino along with the starting stuff)

I'm doing smth similar although alone cuz none of my friends play ark, what i will do when I go to scorched ill just take my character and leave everything behind for a fresh start in each map, once you defeat the overseer you kind of just get teleportrd to the next map and don't get like an option to take things with you, if you want to take things with you then you have to go back to the island in which in my case I'll just continue as I spawned

Never open your routers firewall unless it is quickly for diagnostic/troubleshooting
As long as your on the same WiFi you don't have to port forward, though you will if you want friends to join
Port forwarding is essentially opening a gate to a tiny specific portion of your router and telling the firewall its okay to let traffic through that one gate

I am reaching out because the publicly communicated performance statements regarding ARK: Survival Ascended are no longer technically comprehensible from a player and operator perspective.

You have stated that ARK now runs approximately 40–50% better on identical hardware compared to its launch in October 2023. In addition, a further 30–40% performance increase for both CPU and GPU has been announced with the planned transition to Unreal Engine 5.7.

However, based on real-world testing and long-term operation, I am observing a very different reality.

I operate a cluster consisting of 12 Nitrado servers. The server running “The Island” has been active since December 2023 with:

an identical mod setup

a largely unchanged base and community structure

a reduced dinosaur limit (maximum 300 per base, rarely even approached)

Despite these consistent conditions, both client-side and server-side performance has measurably degraded over the course of multiple updates.

Hardware tested over this period:

Xbox Series S → increasing crashes, eventually unplayable

Xbox Series X → regular crashes and instability, especially after Update 5.5

High-end PC (~€4,000, RTX 5080) → continued performance drops, particularly noticeable on Lost Colony

This raises several technical questions:

What specific metrics do the stated 40–50% improvements refer to (average FPS, 1% lows, server tick rate, streaming performance)?

Under which conditions were these measurements taken (map, player count, dinosaurs, structures, mods)?

Are these improvements fully present in the current live build, or are they only measurable under controlled test environments?

Which Unreal Engine 5 systems (e.g. Lumen, Nanite, World Partition, async loading) were optimized, limited, or disabled to achieve these gains?

Why are large portions of the player base experiencing worsening performance despite equal or better hardware?

At this point, it appears that theoretical engine-level gains are being communicated that do not translate into real-world gameplay performance. Before further performance promises are made in connection with Unreal Engine 5.7, a transparent and technically detailed clarification would be highly appreciated.

I respectfully ask for a clear, honest, and technically grounded response.

Hello, I’m reporting a critical progression-blocking bug introduced after the latest update.

On the Lost Colony map, approaching a specific mission area causes the game to freeze consistently, resulting in a crash or forced restart.
Because this happens before or during mission access, players cannot obtain mission rewards.

This is a hard progression lock because:
• Mission rewards are required to obtain high-tier saddles
• Those saddles are required to prepare for bosses
• Mission rewards are also required as boss keys
• The freeze happens before the mission can be completed, making progression impossible

This is not avoidable, and multiple players (especially Japanese version players) are experiencing the same issue.
In many cases this leads to total loss of progress.

Important points:
• This occurs after the most recent update
• It happens consistently at the same mission location
• Players cannot progress through normal gameplay
• Lost Colony is paid content, so this issue is especially serious

Please acknowledge whether this issue is:
• Known
• Currently under investigation

Even a short confirmation would help the community greatly.

to keep it short, if ya were to game and tame max level creatures even if they all were perfect tame and head straight for an Alpha boss

Good saddles and a good breed line is what you need. I use theris and rexes and yutys. I think I used the deinosuchus when before it got nerfed to kill things like the alpha wyvern and the wyvern on ragnarok. Aberration I used reapers and rock drakes and the best tame of all.... SHOTGUNOSAURUS.

Yes. Find a high level male or female with high stat in melee or hp. Then find opposite gender with the stat you didn't get. Combine. The spyglass will help with the babies.

If you want to breed, I get normally 8 females (they can be terrible stats) and 1 male.

Yeah me and my tribemate have mate boost on the carcha and well we can do infinite OSD

125 ascended saddle. Like I said, we limited ourselves to only 10 mutations in melee cuz then the game is trivial

and I'm even using a mod that changes the spawn interval to the minutes and it still didn't work

I spent months getting the carcha. I started on island looking and it wasnt until center I got the good melee.

I have a mod that increases the spawn of carcha/giga. On center I believe there could be 4.

And then for breeding, I setup a whole island resort and filled it with like 40 gigantoraptor to incubate the eggs

I even have the Tek Carcha mod installed but I don't think I'll ever get to see one spawning in the wild at this point 😖

Then the mod for the egg incubator came out and my gigantoraptor were out of a job

same exact mod I'm using, I'm on Extinction and have it set to every 10 minutes and 8 maximum

it doesn't work though

only 4-5 appear max and one I kill all of them, new ones don't spawn

maybe the mod is bugged on Extinction?

I specifically need high level Carcha for xp farming

I'm going to tame 2 max Level Gigantoraptors and breed 6 perfect ones

one for each stat but getting all 88 levels is just impossible

then I learned that a Level 150 Carcha gets ya around 48k xp

Fair warning though on center. The volcano spawn can barely have enough creatures to get 100 stacks.

I ended up using 1 ride just to get it across the ocean to herbivore islands

if the Pyromane taught me anything it's that, I shouldn't rely on this game

back when I played on single Player, I couldn't tame even 1 Pyromane due the lack of creatures

I had to breed Ovis, set them to passive then unclaim and kill

But you couldn't put them on your shoulder so you could take them into caves..

Plus the taming was tedious so.. I deserved it!

I'll check out the propagator thing. Its using element which I don't really want to waste when I already have a huge space set up for breeding. I use enough element for growth speed and gender swapping and for A LOT of creature

Well, this is ASA and in this game, even paid stuff are bugged and have been so for over a year

case in point, the Battle Rig from Bob Tall Tales dlc

to this day, that thing is dangerous and can glitch into the ground and permanently deletes itself and everything on your character
