map, yes they must own it too, mod depends, cosmetic mods they dont since those are cilent side, and some of the premium mods have a free side as well that will let your friends still play without needing to pay for the full verison of the mod

I am on a decently populated unofficial (12-15 players on at once) and I know of two people that have distinct issues with ASA in general, one with connectivity and the other with crashes. Most of them, like me, have no particular issues aside from ARK being ARK (aka bugs that are ever present).

Shilling here in full effect. One person owning a servers account does not cater for vast majority having issues loading map. Black screen., server not found, timed out, random CTD. Loading map at least in XBOXsX is a minefield. Some servers cannot join. To ease the burden any server with more than 500mb of mods is a no go

Hi everyone, do you know why I'm only getting 40 FPS in 2K Ultra with the Framegen when before the last update I was at 60/80? I know they've limited the memory for those who've had really big drops, but still... I've got a 4080 Super! It gives the impression that the Framegen doesn't work anymore!

Less than 100 is perfectly acceptable, but it depends on hardware. For 4080S and above I’d say at 2k (even 4k) it should manage at least a perfectly steady 60 at maxed settings (native, so not using framegen). For worse hardware then yeah, lower settings and/or resolution would be needed to reach the same FPS

Games are generally not pursuing higher FPS, but rather how to manage a certain FPS budget. If they are getting 200 FPS in testing they might very well think what effects, fidelity or other stuff affecting rendering they can put in without going below 60fps.

Similar to how most RTS games could most certainly get away with even 30 fps - the way the game is presented does not warrant a need for anything more, and it makes minimal difference. They could instead cram in more units to make the game look more spectacular

that's a way oversimplification and most games didn't run at 60fps during that generation. Most were running at 30fps max but (mostly during the last years of that gen were not running locked 30fps but were postly in the 20s.
Also comparing 20 year old games to modern ones is really silly.

As you said, it does not display "fake frame". However steam counter does. But what is weird it's that the steam counter often change between 50 ish and 90 ish fps. Before the rag update it was not changing, constantly displaying 80-90 ish. So that's why i say that there is maybe still a bug.

To a degree yes. Back in the ASE days official servers were a mess. And while unofficial exist, they have their own issues. If they're going to provide official servers, they have to take responsibility for them. People who cheat do ruin the game. It should be completely viable to form a decent community on an official server and have fun, but that is often ruined by cheaters and the failure to address that can kill the community, or at least fracture it and make the experience worse.

You combat cheaters by actually banning them when found. It's not just a code issue. When you get video and screenshot evidence of people literally saying in chat 'Yeah I paid a guy $20 for this desert titan and he's getting me another one tomorrow" and you report it via every channel and they just let it carry on that's a complete failing on their part and the reason people walk away from the game. The only good server is the one you run yourself on your own machine, and that's not the healthiest environment for a game like this. Playing on other's unofficial servers can often mean a ton of mods that you don't really want, or them just wiping and abusing their own servers or just shutting them down out of the blue. Official have to be there as reliable and fair servers that always exist for a healthy game and community, and they don't.

A friend of mine has been having problems for a while that he can't get on Extinction. He can access all other maps. Now he has the same problem on Ragnarok. He loads in on the server and then gets to the point where he can spawn again and then no bed is displayed and as soon as he wants to spawn randomly he gets blackscreen and then it knocks him off the server. He could always go on it 4 times normally at the beginning and then it starts all at once. Has anyone ever had such a problem or does anyone know how to solve it? Nitrado has setting to change dino level spawns, if the info you want is how to change a mods dino levels, you need to contact the mod creator, undrestand that changing dino levels in a mod that isnt set to be changed by included instructions, probably cannot be done.

That is normal they are hard to find, you will need to kill off all dinos to increase the chances, you cannot set dino spawns to only be a certain level, the spawns are in a range.

doing dino wipe does not improve your chances, you need to manually kill off the lower level dinos

You can also use a cheat and manually spawn in the one dino you want at the level you want

Turned off frame generation and it fixed the artifacting when swinging weapons. Trees to still spin and flicker when dinos knock them over however so it must be unrelated to that. Anyone knows whats maybe causing it? Heard some people had similar issues.

The whole rage mechanic is way overblown on pve. They have to take a certain percentage of damage in a small time frame. If you aren't doing massive damage quickly then they don't rage. They do rage on asa, I've seen wild dreadnoughts rage tame ones on extinction, but thats with prim saddles and wild tames.

Depending on where you are near green ob you maaaaaaaaaaay run into a Giga or carcha eventually but I’m pretty sure they won’t aggro onto structures like they would creatures. As long as you and your creatures are hidden from sight with preferably a stone wall protecting you, you should be good to go

I'm having issues ark ascended ps5 single player. I'm able to summon anything I want for the most part. I'm on the astraeos map. I'm unable to summon fire wyverns and my ice wyverns I'm unable to mount. Would love some help please if anyone knows anything.

Does anybody know on rag why when you look around quickly areas look completely black and then they light up after a fraction of a second? It's really noticeable when you're sitting on a wyvern looking around with the camera and quite irritating.. is that a bug or just some specific setting? I've looked through all the graphic settings, unless I've missed something

probably some mix of low global illumination quality and exposure behavior. are you using any weird graphics commands/settings?

No weird commands, I have an RX 7900 XTX.. most of my settings are high or epic, but I've tried increasing and decreasing every setting independently, no commands are being used to modify fog or anything like that, I only use a command to set the gamma to 3.0, and of course that doesn't change this type of behavior.. I've tried with and without frame generation, I've tried unreal, I've tried FSR, I've tried native.. nothing works

On single player? Always been an issue if you logged out in a certain spot you can never load back in without wiping it.

there was recently, like 2 weeks ago, a big update where they changed the games engine to unreal 5.5, to focus only in performance i believe (idk if there were any other changes), for some it had no impact or runs worse, or thats what they say, but for me it was a big improvement
