I know they are not the same, and the way they are resolved and the objective is different. But again, it is common, but the requirements to be able to sue someone vary, while initiating a civil lawsuit is generally easier as far as I know.

Indeed. It is still playable for me, but framerate went down. I was playing between 75-110fps, now it's 65-85fps or so.

Using a RX 7800 XT, 1440p, mix of epic-high settings.

As a suggestion, don't use epic settings, ever. You can lower some of them and still get almost indistinguible visual quality while getting considerably better performance. That is what I do. With epic settings I get apparently 70FPS but with highly inconsistent framerate.

Some settings jump in resource utilization heavily from high to epic, while providing almost no improvement.

To be fair... Unreal Engine 5 seems to be a regression in many aspects, specially performance. It is annoying UE5 was released and most of the documentation is either extremely incomplete or non-existent. What Wildcard is doing with lumen for managing light and also with nanite is something they probably had to try to figure it out with trial and error while under pressure to release the game. There is no documentation on lumen optimization and what was done with it.

So, UE5 does a lot of things for you when developing games, but also barely tells you what is actually happening. That's why you see most UE5 games right now having so many issues and being so ridiculously demanding, while also having so much blur or looking like they are running at a lower resolution than they are.

I had a R9 290x when ASE came out, & a 6800XT when ASA came out. Top of the line AMD GPU at release of ASE to second tier AMD GPU at release of ASA I'd say they ran pretty similarly in my experiences.

Crazy how experiences vary so greatly. I'm playing SP on PS5 pro and not crashing at all and holding around 35 to 42 FPS. Not great obviously, especially after such a huge "performance" update. But some ppl can barely even load the game up. Wonder what the differences are 🤔

I have a base full of rocks and trees that cannot be removed. I can walk through them, but.....I have 1 server in the cluster that all the mods work on, but the others it is a big no go. Fortunately, the one that they work on is the only one that had anything built using mods, but I digress, my problem is not with the mods (not that this can be helped), but with the rocks and trees that cannot be detroyed and I can walk through. I keep getting a second screen after the mod update screen... Hit Join, Mod validation, Mod update, Password, then shows the server list with additional Installing <mod name>, and the proceeds to keep going through them over and over again.

On PS5, too. Server is hosted by Nitrado. Never had this second list of updating mods come to before the update. Eventually it just goes back to the menu screen (Join, Create/Resume, Mods).

The game runs much smoother, 50-60FPS outdoors, 80-90 indoors. Looking at the clouds doesn't cut the FPS down to 35 like before, now it's exactly 50.

For me it's actually only Player Traits and Dear Jane that aren't updated. But I recon this is a curseforge issue, because all of my mods manual port with lots of fixes haven't been reviewed, only the CF 5.5 port. And Nukleus UI is gone. Non solid prob rocks and trees everywhere. The main menu crash still present and the game forces me to respawn regardless how often I saved. Those are the major issues. Many smaller I'm to lazy to address because a decent wipe should fix all of them.

It’s so slow downloading from a fresh install. I deleted my game since I felt updating would cause more issues. Ever since AB my fps cap setting stopped working and never got fixed but didn’t happen to everyone. Idk but I felt updating engines updates would cause a lot more issues than just reinstalling the game fresh after the update.

@indigo dew that’s not how bugs works. You could test it 100times and no one there experiences the issues. As soon as launch happens someone could discover a bug.

isn't it crazy how the fall damage dismount trick has been in the game since early access in 2015, and it carries on into the latest version of the game? This is a game changing bug that the community has come to live with as a game mechanic but somehow wildcard doesn't address it's existence in any capacity when it is a game warping bug that subverts mechanics like dinos that have fall damage resist.

I'm not sure what the issue on consoles specifically is but to maybe reduce the anxiety a bit, a mod gets "cooked" every time a mod author updates it anyway. So I wouldnt expect mass data loss and don't see why mod authors would need to remake anything,.

If you want a guess mods get "cooked" for each platform so maybe curseforge need to alter the cooker for console mods, that'd make sense if PC people and servers themselves are ok but this is pure guesswork 🤷

Also, it actually depends on what "your mods" actually are? For cosmetics prolly no issues, for new dino and spawns maybe some non game breaking glitches. But for the vast majority of overhauls, gameplay additions/tweaks and specially mods importing new or editing UI a simple "5.5 recook" on the Curseforge side isn't enough. All those mods have to be reviewed on CF and this is likely going to take up until next week. Dear Jane and Traits for Players aren't even 5.5 updated, which is a shame given one is a SW official.

I've got a couple dino mods, and some smaller ones thats mainly tweak things, I think my main point was tbh that I don't see why this would require massive reworks to mods if they work on PC, they just need to be fixed CF side, approval could take a while yeah if they have this many to approve.

It's clear that a few bugs will get through and that's okay - you can't prevent that. The fact that a patch breaks almost everything can only happen if patches are not checked, or rather tested. There is not a single company in the entire games industry that puts as many bugs into its own patches as Wildcard and that can only happen if it is simply not tested. Even if they had a PC, PS or Xbox in their office and tested their patches first, they would realize that something is wrong. You should. There are so many .ini settings changed. Some of the old ones don't even apply anymore and missconfigure your visuals potentially plummeting performance.

@heavy cedar @proven grove not sure if it's something already raised but some of the creatures seem to be missing their respective sound files. Mainly seems to be flying tames but so far neither Rhynio, argents, wyvern or drakes have any sound when going through the air

This update is pretty interesting so far:

1. Spawned in and everything in my base, including me (third person view) was invisible for well over a minute, followed up by about 2 minutes of choppy audio
2. Large resources are instantly replaced with collision-free versions when harvested (large rocks, trees, and joshua trees on scorched)
3. Positional audio seems messed up as riding my moth in third person and all sounds seem to be coming from the back right corner on my headphones (was fine before update)

CPU. I used to run ASE with server and game on my local machine no problem. Now with ASA my CPU is maxed so I had to move my server online for now. Going to upgrade next week

Potentially. Open your taskmanagerand look at the performance and see which one is hitting 100%. My CPU is constantly hitting 100% while my 3070 isn't getting close

you can get rid of the input lag by disabling framegen via console ingame, its on per default now and cannot be turned off in the menus (bugged)

So I’m not having any issues with fps it’s actually increased and become more stable. I’m considering capping myself to 50 or 60 instead of 40 as it does drop randomly but I am on extinction singleplayer so not best map for testing. Have came across the invisible player after dying tho.

I’m on i9-10850k and 3080 10gb
This is raw no dlss or fsr enabled but does drop when moving fast. Gotta mess with dlss or fsr to see what I prefer but it wasn’t this stable before 5.5. Always capped myself on 40fps since that was constant so I didn’t feel anything bad. Granted I could increase fps more but playing 1440p with view and texture on epic, foliage on high and everything else on medium.

Tho idk if it makes a difference but I didn’t update the game, I did a full refresh and installed it again. I felt files have a chance of corrupting but still being playable.
