Had the same thing. Tried running as admin > repairing Steam files > clearing download cache > changing download drive to my external and back again to 'refresh' > deleting download from the Programx86/Steamapps/Downloads folder > and those didn't work. What -did- work was uninstalling Steam and reinstalling but I don't recommend doing that lightly. From what I understand, uninstalling Steam will also uninstall your games [don't know if there's a way around that]. I only have ASE and ASA installed right now so I just downloaded ASA first, then got ASE back and it fixed it for me. Pain in the ass, but it worked

....... my comptuer is heavily overclocked. Ryzen 9 5900x, 6700XT which is Also heavily Overclocked. XMP Profiled 128GB ram and I have closer to 25TB of NVME and SSD in my case than not. 1500w PSU and this game will not run at a playable speed on higher than medium settings with anything over 70% resoluation scale. and PLAYABLE is barely acceptable in this case. I'll be waiting a couple months for some sort of optimizing because at this rate even the GEFORC NOW cloud rental PC's are only getting like 35-40fps on epic settings. False. The issue right now is that Nvidia has fake ass frames and DLSS shit so its Faux=Playable. AMD doesn't have any of that shit to use at the moment on this game LET alone most games right now. So we end up with what the game actually runs like. Not what the AI improves it to be. BE-cause we aren't faking frames with cheap software workarounds to bad hardware development.

yeah so the Patch download is 379 out of 379mb downloaded. easy, but its Patching the entire game which will take an hour which is crazy!!! high end computer, never had this issue but I have never used steam. Is this a steam thing?

The Update made the FPS worse (24FPS) compared to before the update (50FPS)

However, the following steps got me back to 45-55 FPS and it now looks better than before the update:

I set resolution to the actual resolution of my display
For some reason it was much lower by default.

I set Graphics Preset to medium
Then made the following individual tweaks:
Global Illumination = medium
General Shadows = medium
Foliage Interaction Distance Multiplier = 0.25
Foliage Interaction Distance Limit = 0.5
Foliage Interaction Quality Limit = 0.5

After saving, I went to the main menu first.

I played single players for 4h today, no crashes, improved performance… happy with this patch. Now we just need the servers to work, the console versions and Nitrado n snail to F off

Very true on that nitrado thing. The minimum player thing being set at 26 is insane. It has literally doubled the cost me and my friends would pay to play on a server since there's only 3 of us. Literally 23 unused slots that we'd have to pay for instead of 7. In fact we probably won't bother at that price rate and the other 2 are even considering avoiding the game until this changes bc they don't wanna even share that £20 a month fee
