This game can be ran from anything from a 1660ti to the great 4090 but you'll need to tailor your expections due to poor optimization. you'll need to tweak settings and run console commands to get decent FPS on any rig

Console players, after the release has gone so poorly on PC. I really don’t think we will see the game this year. Nintado is already complaining it’s takes up 3x the amount of ram as ase. The Xbox series x and ps5 will probably just be able to play it. Barely. We are going to have to deal with stuttering and constant lag when a full server with 500 Dino’s out each. The game is having trouble running already. Imagine once bases get set up and Dino farms are going. I had high hopes but just disappointed instead

The recommended is more like a benchmark. You can’t get the best specs with a 3080 you need it just to play at all. At least a 2080ti but you aren’t getting good graphics on medium. I have to play on low and at that point it looks and plays worse than ase so might aswell get a refund if I can’t play it

Single Player is the best bet right now. difference in graphics between Medium and Epic is mostly negligible.

Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date - that part is SUPER important, a month of updates made the difference for me

I am experiencing severe crashing in character creation of ASA. As soon as I get into character creation my entire PC crashes, everything goes black and I have to hard restart my system. There is no BSOD.

My specs:

13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF 3.40 GHz
32.0 GB of RAM (31.9 GB usable)
AMD Radeon RX 6900XT

My game is installed on a 2TB SSD as per requirements.

I know my rig is more than capable of running the game, so what is going on here? I've had this severe crash happen twice in a row now both at the same point of simply accessing character creation for the first time without adjusting any settings. Is there some kind of memory leak happening or optimization issue?

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

I am playing Ark on oneplay cloud gaming but everytime I reopen the game it gets reset. From my singleplayer game progress to game settings, everything resets. It looks like game is just downloaded. But in my potato pc or any other cloud gaming app I am not facing this problem.

I even contacted the cloud gaming team, but they are saying this issue is from steam side not theirs.

WC has a total of 90 servers each with a capacity of 70 players. That is enough for a total of 6300 players on at a time. ASE rarely had less than 12k players on at a time, and usually upwards of 20k. Who the hell is in charge of math at WC?

We have to host our own local servers since latency to Official, MTS, Bloody etc is really not feasible at all. I have always hosted the servers 100% for free for the community without many pay to win stuff other servers have. South Africa is not a super rich country and we can simply not afford to host other than on our dedicated hardware that we have already invested in for the community of ASE. Unfortunately we are also not 10000 players either. At good times like Gen2 launch we would do 400-500 players online at once but now we can't do anything. Like I said I am not angry. But I am hart broken that a game many of us have loved for years now gets updated and we can only play it on extreme latency and extreme pricing.

For People who say ASA is just a Graphic upgrade and nothing more.
It's not just better graphic, many things changed and new stuff added.

A few Example of non-graphic things Improved for ASA

Lots of New Wild Babies you can find and claim in the wild !
Several new type of Berries and many new color stuff
New Structure redesign, Snap Points and options, many things changed to be more convenient, u just make Walls for example and they can be used as Wall/Window/2 Style of DoorFrame/ Secret Door (some cool secret sliding wall) etc
You can now pick many things up after placing them, like Foundations and walls and storage boxes and such, no limit on picking them back up.
You can now attach Torches into your belt, so you can move around with fire light and free hands.
There is new UI, lots of new better ways to track Dino, tamed Dino, or your corpse, very clear direction, distance and all.
many minor Quality of Life Improvement, like if u kill small sea creature like fish, they auto drag on your hand so u dont have to dive and pick them up.
You can now Zoom in map by holding M and scrolling on mouse.

There is many more higher tier improvement I still didn't find,
Better design AC and other structures, Tap Water and Electricity improvement, you don't need stupid Pipes or Cables anymore for example.

At minimum. They have to fix "fatal flaw" in console multiplayer, and then go to certification and even then, add fixes from PC version to console version. That might happen before the certification. Nobody knows.
