Good afternoon, do you know if it takes a long time to catch a dinopithecus? I'm trying to catch one on a 5x server, but he never gets hungry, there's 1 puppy in the same trap as him, will that interfere?

The Dinopithecus can be tamed non-violently rather than through the usual methods. However, only Pack Leaders can be tamed.

To be able to passively tame it, first the Alpha within the pack has to be identified, which can only be seen with the glowing aura around its body much like other creatures with said buff. Upon discovery, start killing off every other Dinopithecus nearby as they will not allow you to start passively tame the creature (this excludes any wild baby, juvenile or adolescent nearby). After slaughtering all the nearby Dinopithecus, the alpha will attempt to flee. Reduce its health below 85% (go as low as possible before attempting to tame it), and start passively feeding it.

Be wary if any other Dinopithecus wanders nearby during the taming, as they can hinder the taming progress just by being around the alpha.

Make pve 100% crossplay, even if you have to keep steam separate for a bit. Don’t have console only pve servers. There is no reason and will divide the player base too much so it’ll have a lot of empty servers again in the future. Higher population pve servers are a blast for everyone. I understand why it’s necessary for pvp but those reasons do not exist for pve.

I see that the arc developers still can't find ways to adequately balance the game and apparently this problem will remain in 1.5, judging by the fact that the developers decided to disable dino and character speed pumping.

And unlike most players who only ask to solve this or that problem, I can offer solutions.

And these are not silly solutions such as disable or cut any mechanics that are often used by developers when they can not find a good solution, this is a real way to balance the mechanics that they work adequately and fit into the overall world and the concept of the game!

At the moment I will touch on the topic of speed pumping.

Once ARK had a very large loss of total online in Steam due to the complete disabling of the speed pumping mechanic for flying dinos, this infuriated some players, as speed stats are real stats that real animals have and they can really be different for creatures of the same species!

Example of a bad decision:

• Just disable the speed pumping mechanic (it was chosen by the developers)

• Example of a good and not complicated for the mechanics of the game solution (since the arc already has everything to implement this mechanic):
  Make dino speed depend on wild stats and selection, but with a fading progression.
  This would allow dinos of the same species to have slightly different speeds, and for players to fight for the fastest dinos for a long time by selection and breeding. And fading progression would gradually decrease the percentage of speed increase with increasing speed stat, which would make breeding faster dinos more and more costly and less profitable. Since at some point speed would start to change so little that it probably wouldn't be worth the player's labor.

Similarly, solutions with player speed can be made using a fading progression:
Each invested experience point in the speed of the player would have less and less efficiency, which would lead to the fact that after pumping the speed to some adequate limits, the player would begin to think about the allocation of experience points in more cost-effective stats that give a greater advantage, rather than bringing his speed to madness (which is not possible in principle with a fading progression).

I have many more ideas for adequately balancing the game without stupidly cutting mechanics, too bad it's unlikely I'll be able to get them to the developers....

One more thing... sorry for the possibly bad English, I use a translator and it is sometimes difficult for me to formulate my thoughts correctly in English..

Farm the Swamp cave until you get decent Basilosaurus ( 80+ Armor) saddle BP

Breed up a mated pair of imprinted Basils, having one on follow. and go run the Easy water Cave. Rex/Yuty/Giga saddles will all spawn in there. If you get a better Saddle BP, or pull a good Baryonyx saddle BP (70+ Armor) You can take your Basils and 6-8 Barys into the hard water cave and farm it too.

Once you are comfortable running both successfully, you should bring some honey attached to a throw away fishing pole so it doesn't expire, and grab a Liopleurodon while circling the ocean. It will double drop quality making them all worth it to grab.

yeh the baby want care in a couple of minnutes if you have changes the rate or if you have a nanny from s+ or ss mod then you just have to wait untill it grow up and you will get 100 percent imprint but nanny only works with honey or with a tek generator

Hunting drops is a lot about patience and luck, you just keep doing it

They kind of just spawn whenever they want. If you're on singleplayer with hibernation off you might need to hang around the area just so the map doesn't go into lockdown, but it's probably better worth your time to check other potential spawn points

I just had a really bad thought, in the community crunch it said that premium mods will have a pay option, does this mean we have to pay for

to try out with out buying all their mods? then there is another issue are we going to be like gta 5, we will no longer get content threw
official updates everything will be threw mods. sure wild card can patch glitches and fix meshing. but there will be no new game items like,
weapons, building, or skins. remember cryopods, and the egg incubator started out as a mod. we might never get stuff like that again without
it being a mod.... and lets go further. mods have to be updated when official updates come out... what happens when they decide they want a
subscription for a mod so they are paid to keep it updated. starting to get worried.

Hot take but ima say it anyways: I’m happy that wildcard is fixing the speed issue with PvP, players that just go the smallest female survivor and pump speed like crazy on official just for an advantage was really annoying sense it was nearly impossible to actually reliably hit them let alone sometimes catch them if they’re insanely fast. That and this actually gives survivors more urgency to actually get tek to get the nice speed boost and what not. This and cryopods were honestly the thing that ruined PvP for me and the fact the island in asa doesn’t have cryopods or the insane speed issue is really nice and might get me into PvP again (Only issue I see rising from this is the server side issue of too many Dino’s being out but there’s also the obelisks which help a bit if people decide to actually use them which is likely not. Just gotta hope the servers can actually support the large amount of tamed Dino’s being out lol)

Edit: This is coming from a person on Xbox fyi which used to deal with people being so fast and dealing with turning so slow 9 times out of 10 it got me killed

The tamed ones don’t take the wild spawns. If there’s a carchara or a giga on the map you gotta kill it for one of those two to replace the spawn after a while

Vultures are good if you want a swarm of them for specific caves as well as spoiling meat faster, other then that, not really much besides being a cool shoulder pet. If anything, invest in a Fyord hawk. Those things are insanely good

Not early game but they’re easy to tame if you got enough tranq arrows, brontos are good for rapid berry collection. However you can’t get the saddle until later but you can get around this by having the bronto attack something small nearby some bushes lol

Hello, i came in advice to some problem that i haven't found anything related in internet
Basically the gamma and toggle console keybinds resets after every restart of the game, have changed the Input.ini to read only tried to rebind an already binded key or a "basic" key to them, but it's no use, it just resets after a restart.
Does someone have a fix or a idea on how to prevent it to reset? Or it's just ark shenanigans?
