In single player, everything is permanently set to 1x. In the store you can buy a ton of special stations (even on multiplayer, so as soon as you start you can get quality weapons saddles and armor) that you can spend amber (premium currency) on to get good gear.

Or you can buy soothing balm that increase taming speed by 30x
