i guess the only reliable method, generally, would be locating your installation folder of ark, and then right click -> properties on it.
even without mods,i think steam doesnt show the exactly correct size of it. or at least it wasnt when i compared it without mods a year ago or so (have a bunch of mods installed by now, so cant really compare it anymore)

yea, ark itself (without any additional map) should be 100-140ish GB or sth like that, and then there are CRAZY maps like LI which are almost 60 GB on their own, and others not so big, but generally 400-500 GB for the whole thing (without mods) sounds about right

"genesis season pass" will only have Gen1+Gen2, and the other season pass will have the rest of the maps (for steam), and there are a bunch of free maps/DLCs on top

on OG (mod map) CI, you could harvest much more element on the eldritch island
and element on fjordur was even nerfed now, alot (you get about 90 element in total, from hitting up 5+ spots total) and alpha spawns are pretty rare and dont drop that much runes either. a 140 raptor just gave me 3 runes earlier today for example.

i mostly meant it progression wise tho, to stay on top / farm the most resources, you always had to have the newest DLC (at least for Ab, Ext, Gen1/Gen2) in terms of quantity/efficiency

If you unwilling to do to ragnorak then the only way is to use the island spawn map on the wiki and clear out all areas of theris and come back later. You could also do this but it might seem a bit cheaty. Go to a popular theri spawn using the spawn map. Then do dino wipes and see if you find a high lvl one

Yea I’ve seen it on SP and when doing my ASM, but I highly doubt it’s anything functional (at least on official, or default value).
I literally had 450 XP gigas (for breeding) mature on 1x and “accidentally” / unnecessarily imprinted on one, that wanted a cuddle, it just stayed at 4% all the way until adulthood, same with many others over the years that I overlooked or didn’t bother imprinting lol

I like lost Island, it has many creatures and caves, but it is unpopular. The island is a good map, but the lack of fantasy puts some people off of it. Those are my personal two favourites of the unexcluded free.
