known issue happens a lot if you do it in the final 30 seconds as its not accounting for lag spikes on servers prior to the save.
30 seconds could actually be 0 if your mid lag spike which bugs the timer to say its save to transfer but actually leaves a bag behind.
20% of the time items go poof from server and inventory it sucks

Yeah... I knew about the bag drop lag spike. I wasn't even watching timer, but when I went to pull from vault, big lag spike, when I went to transfer - no timer - so I was like "Oh yeah, that was the server save."

So I asked the seller to watch for a bag when I left (he said there was no bag before I even got my character downloaded) so I hit the 20% bad lotto I guess.
