Yup. On unofficial I use mods to build floating foundations on the water for many reasons.

Less structures to render. One foundation alongside one pillar for full support. No need for 8 pillars to hit the ground to counter hillsides.

No wild dinos to worry about getting inside the base, and as the server host I can quickly banish grievers from existence.

Many problems disappear in unofficial. Right down to base rendering and minimal structure placement

Yeah, they "you have to be signed in to PS" has happened to me. Its never permanent like you said, after a min or two it works fine. On occasion I will get a black screen when loading up my server. I close the game and relaunch and that fixes it for me.

It definitely isn’t a smooth release by any means. What I find the most concerning is that, we are into the third work week after the holidays and a majority of the issues are still not addressed.
