Also, the PTW complaints are ridiculous. The old ASE dlc’s were all PTW in the exact same way Lost Colony, and/or BTT and Fantastic Tames is. I’m not actually saying they are PTW btw. I think re-selling DLCs would be unfair for a remaster, and it’s good they didn’t do that.
But I see no issue of them focusing more heavily on creating novel DLCs and putting the free legacy DLCs in the backburner, while keeping the ASE system of Dino/item usage in place (which would be my ideal scenario)

Three things:

1: there’s no telling they wouldn’t have done an in-game block like what they have in ASA if they had access to that tech back then (assuming it didn’t exist, or they didn’t know about it).

2: I agree with you, except for that the content just isn’t pay to win. Aside from the pyromane, everything that’s been introduced behind a paywall isn’t able to be easily exploited to instantly gain a significant edge over other players. In my opinion, most of everything introduced is just a gimmicky thing that’s cool and can help make the game a little easier in some cases.

3: The maps in ASE were absolutely PTW if you (not directly saying you) think about it for a second… You don’t have access to the maps. Just the creatures and items that aren’t Tek. For one, you only have 15 ascension levels in ASE If you only pay for the game. For another, you don’t have access to most avenues of the resources or QOL that some of the maps provide. If you’re playing PVP, you are invincible against someone who doesn’t have access to the map because they simply cannot play on it without paying for the map.

Really, if something is actually “pay to win,” it would be so blatantly obvious, and irrefutable.
For example, NBA 2K. In that game, it is so extraordinarily difficult to get your player to max level that it’s almost impossible to have a good time on the game without paying to have a stronger player.

(I just wrote a massive reason why Ark isn’t like that obviously PTW game, and I accidentally deleted it lol, so here’s a shorter version.)

Ark isn’t like that at all. You can enjoy the game completely free (besides the cost of the game itself) and still be able to hold your own against other players with paywalled content. The only argument that is understandable is regarding the pyromane. It’s just that the pyromane isn’t a dominant force. It can’t fly, have a better armor value than what it gets, and is countered by the very existence of water. Really, it’s just understandable because of how laughably easy it is to tame them. I don’t like using them because of how easy it is to tame such a powerful creature, not even because it costs money to unlock.

The main big bug issues are, thrall possession taking levels of character randomly. Worst I saw was 100 levels gone, companions in mesh after death, outpost buildings not being able to demolish or respawn (1 building remains saying demolish and you cant interact to do so) crashes the other day lost people tames breed lines and meshed dinos, outpost bosses leaving area or falling off bridges so you cant complete, oil lake neer city bridge crashes game neer water fall, city terminal broken most of time, boss terminal doesnt work most the time, boss fight works 1 in 4 attempts

@civic bison Since the recent update the new trees at 9.7 5.7 lost colony map, the brown orange trees they DoNot despawn or can be destroyed or harvested, those specific Trees spawn inside full built bases houses and can not be removed. The trees are not transparent but Soild so if you remove a foundation where those trees are located and attempt to place the foundation back down???
