Like the other person said, a frog in the swamp cave is good. But if you want more chitin (which can be converted into paste) then you can tame a megatherium and take it into the swamp cave as well.

They are better to get paste, but from what I understand. Megatherium's are better at getting more chitin, which in the long term after crafting it, yields more paste, if you don't mind grinding for a fuck ton of stone.

They also, like Raif said, have different color regions. R-creatures are more striped.

On ASE, you have.
Normal creatures.
Aberrant-creatures.
Corrupted-creatures.
Tek-creatures.
X-creatures.
And finally R-creatures.

Corrupted ones being the only non-tamable variants, as they're meant to act as an antagonistic force on the Extinction map.

It's a structure that you can place 8 eggs into, and incubate them all at once. And it gives you the option to destroy the eggs, or hatch them on command (every other hatching method will make the baby hatch no matter when when the egg is ready.)
Also allows you to see the stats and gender of the baby before you bother hatching it.

i'm breeding rexes on my single player world, and It's my first time playing this game so this is a bit confusing.

let me begin :

First I was lucky to get 2 perfect 150 tames. one has 7.7k health and 447% melee, the other has (had, because I did pump some levels into it but I know the base stats) 8.1k health, and 463% melee, did not check the other stats not sure if I needed to.

Next, I bred them and got a male and female who had both 463% melee and 8.1k health, essentially best of the both stats.

Don't think i've done anything wrong so far (if i have please correct me)

Next I bred those two, however the babies produced are of varying levels (aren't they supposed to be always the same? or +2 levels if mutated?)Why is this happening? I've currently stopped thinkign I've done something wrong.

every stat has an amount of points that adds up to the dinos level. for the babies to have the same level when they are born all 6 stats need to have the same amount of points in them

i dont know of any guides, but if you have access to the egg incubator it will show you the points in each stat so you can see where the differences are

its a level 89 engram from gen2, if you are playing ASE and ahve no dlcs, you'd have to go to lost island or fjordur to unlock it
