Dear League of Legends EMEA Championship Organizing Committee, Riot Games & EMEA Masters Tournament Organizing Committee, I'm 1 League of Legends sports fan as well as 1 League of Legends player, I would like to have a proposal to reform and upgrade the League of Legends esports competition ecosystem in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and hope that this proposal will be listened to and receive an official response.

So we got a response from a Rioter, he would like you to condense your document into a clear 1-page document. While it is very detailed, most senior staff unfortunately don’t have the time to go through a 15-page document, simply because there are many ongoing priorities and internal workstreams happening at the same time.

If you're able to do make it a 1-page document, then there's a chance the LEC Comissioner will take a look. Can you do that for us, please ? Thank you !

I also wanted to say thank you again for sharing your thoughts and ideas. As mentioned above by @pine shale , a clear one-page summary of the proposal would be very helpful.

I’d also like to leave you with a bit of food for thought when refining it. At the end of the day, the LEC is ultimately a marketing platform for the game League of Legends. So an important question is: what does the LEC want to achieve in that context?

For example:

  • How can the LEC excite people to play League of Legends?
  • How can the LEC continue to excite fans? How can it resonate with younger audiences in particular?
  • How are people (especially the younger audiences) consuming content and esports today, and how many matches can they realistically follow each week?
  • What kind of content does the current and next generation enjoy most?
  • Are people really interested in T2 v T1 cross-play, or primarily in personality-driven teams (like LR) that resonate audiences, or is there something else that could be explored? Should League have what VCT has (a clear path from Premier in-client play to tier 1)?
  • How does it align with T2, EMEA Masters, EWC and other schedules?

There are many different angles to consider when thinking about the future of the ecosystem.

I’m happy to forward your proposal along, but as mentioned earlier, the reality is that most senior staff unfortunately don’t have the bandwidth to dive deeply into long documents, simply because their workload is already extremely full. That’s not meant to discredit the effort you put into this - quite the opposite, the level of detail is appreciated.

If you’re able to condense the key ideas into a short one-pager, I’d be very happy to share that with the team. You could always include the full document as an appendix for anyone who wants to explore the details further. And maybe my points above give you some new thoughts to marinate on.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts and for putting so much effort into your proposal. We really appreciate the passion behind it and the care you’ve taken to think through the ecosystem from multiple angles.
