Hey there! So a club is going to be merging with my small club, and the owner was promised to become a club leader. So this is a bit stressful since if they become a club leader they must prove to me that they can help take over such as take over events, get people to join, instruct in lessons pretty well if no groups that day, and can kind of take over for owning the club correctly. So I am confused and stressed on what to do, I would like some advice.

Well I would personally do a type of trail run to see how they act and preform when given these tasks to see if they are a good fit. Have them do events and practice etc. to truely see how they can handle the club.

I agree with Lilith here!
You should get a feel for how they work with a club and how efficient they are with it. You are the owner, and they agreed to let you have the owner role for this club. That means they are giving you permission to keep them lower than club leader if that's what you decide to do.

I think you should run with your personal judgement here on what's best for both of you and what's best for the club!

A trial run is a good idea, I would also recommend having a conversation with the other owner about why they want to merge, what their vision is as a club owner or leader, the kinds of organization and decisions they would tend to make, key club rules (age limit? discord? swearing? activity requirement?), your club goals (competing? Just having fun? Are you trying to be extremely well known?) decide which elements of each club will come out of the merge (like, whose club horse will you use? Which outfit? Which name? Whose social medias?) If they're all the same and everyone's just switching to yours, is the other owner sure that all of their members are willing to do that? For that matter, how do your members feel about merging?

I wouldn't say merging is impossible or an inherently bad idea, but I would communicate, plan, and compromise a lot to make things go smoothly.
