Siiiick
What the fuck does “ong” mean
on god
That’s dumb
d a m n
I saw a p8 today at 15,000 feet but I didn’t have my camera 😭

one of my best pan shots so far
You like it?
Yes, NATO Days in Ostrava 2022
It's definitely worth checking out if you live nearby
Few more pics from Ostrava:
Very sick
Nothing happens 99% of the year
Leuchars is my local
This year has been absolutely dead
I’ve barely been at Leuchars at all
rip, only places near me are a solid 2-3 hour drive
I’m up at 3am tomorrow to head down to the Lake District to catch some low level hopefully
damn good luck
Last time wasn’t too bad, hoping they don’t pull out again lol
Guess if I come to Scotland I’ll have to check it out, I was actually thinking of going to Europe next year maybe Germany or back to England but not Scotland sounds nice 😂
Lake District is in northern England. Scotland low level is one of those places you have to know in advance because there’s just so many valleys
But when it works out, Scotland is a blast
Haven’t put it through my software yet
Still fire
I kinda like it not as sharp tbh
Hey what lens do you use
I have a couple but for airshows usually just my sigma 150-600 contemporary
(Don’t get sport it’s not worth the extra 1k)
Imo
I have a 50-200 that’s my biggest one then again I just got into doing this. Would you say I stick with what I got or should I go bigger maybe like a 200-600 like yours
I couldn’t recommend the 150-600 over much else it’s an amazing lens and has served me quite well on both my d3200 (24mp sensor) and now my d850 (45mp sensor). I mean it’s $900 for 600mm of reach and has pretty good stabilization, the only down side is the fact that at 600mm it’s stuck at f/6 but honestly it shouldn’t be too bad of an issue, if weather is right you can get some great shots with the 150-600
I’ll send some overcast examples to show it doesn’t have too much issue in cloudy days even at f/6
Those were both my d850 with my d3200 it worked pretty nicely too
From d3200
And at 150mm you can still get decent wider shots depending on what you’re shooting, it works great in this scenario but mind you I’m at 150mm on a full frame, on a crop sensor you may not have much widnes
Its easy for me, I'm belgian, also saw his practise for his demo, etc lmao
I’m coming to Belgium 😂
The season is over for now😂 so no point
But we do have sexy liveries for our F16s
Probably one of my favorites! Fb24, Ocu squadron (training) flies almost every day..
Y’all are some good artists 😂😂🥵
Send some over to Cali please
😂
Basic af usaf f16s 😭🤧
I appreciate the examples man I have a Nikon D60 where would you recommend me getting any sort of lenses?
MPB, Adorama, KEH
D60 requires AFS lenses for autofocus
I recommend a 55-300 VR for starters
I used my sigma 150-600mm on my nikon d60 once.. it's good for quality but the results can be a bit more dark, so I would definently recommend a good editing sofware ofcourse
I have lightroom premium
I have a 50-200 now
That’s sufficient to start
Guessing you tracked it well for most of the shot then flicked away
Yea I also suppose that that happened.. its a 1/5th panning on 200mm so pretty unstable 😂
I guess I was just testing my limit...
@rustic onyx 😉
THAT LIVERY 🥵🥵🥵
I know.. really nothing better then dream viper😂
I am happy that I caught FA-87( dream viper) in its old livery aswell.. Le me try to find a pic
Dream viper before dream viper
Y’all got some goated liveries
This is also such a good livery.. to bad that it got repainted to normal Baf livery.. its the Ntm 2021 X-tiger
The contrast in the sky was natural..
I barely changed the light in this shot, just some color tones and stuff.. so dont judge that please😂
That livery 🥵
This also was during the Baf display pilots practise while the dream viper was being painted
Thats why it has red smoke winders btw.. they just didnt work well😂
Here its a bit more visible ..
Hi , one question , I love all your pics and I have recently started in photography . What lens do you guys use to capture planes ?
Depends
Sigma 150-600
But
If you just started maybe a 70-300 or 100-400
Also depends on budget
Sold my Sigma 150-600, just wasn't really impressed with the lens
How come?
Just the low light conditions really, but the auto focusing was kinda meh in my opinion. Might be user error but yeah.
interesting
I not happy with the pixels but I don’t know how to get rid of that
“The pixels?”
yeah i mean theres not many other options with a 600mm range unless you spend big money, or if you shoot sony they have a nice 200-600 (still like the same aperture) , but if you have the docking port for the sigma you can customize the lens to have a faster focus speed and better stabilizing depending on the scenario, also my camera has a pretty good dynamic range so I am able to pull out a lot of light from shadows even when backlit so im pretty happy with it tbh
Kind of pixelated if you zoom in on the c5
Needs a longer lens is all
Tbh the sigma 150-600 isn't that much more expensive than the 100-400 so if anyone is going into mega telephoto lenses, I feel like the 150-600 is more value
Oh
yeah there's only so far you can crop in
Yeah, I sold it too a guy on eBay just a few days ago, seems like he's enjoying it so far! 😄 Great lens, just not for me.
cleanest-looking livery i've seen on a 752 that isn't either international or rare, so i enjoy them
My lens or plane??
The lens
OMG THERE IS AN MD80 COMING IN TO MY LOCAL
Gonna catch the MD88
Completely caught off guard and in the wrong place - so backlit to absolute buggery and absolute miles away but
I tried
B-W edit would work on this IMO
Ooh sick
C
had that happen a while ago, i was pulling right up and a formation of i think t38s were taking turns landing
This isn't really a photo from a plane but I think it's worth sharing
NFL cities get them, check the Jettip blog and you’ll see who is flying where
sheesh
Thats seggzy
i missed two separate c130 low passes while they entered the approach yesterday😭😭
where at
both into seal beach i figure, forgot to check radar. i was in fullerton and then the second one was over my house
oh sick
Hate 'em
A400s are a useless replacement for what the RAF used the C130 for
Belgium it's an okay replacement because they never used their C130s properly anyway
Same with the USAF, other than the MC-130s and other specialist ones, they don't use their C130s properly - may as well get the A400 for the extra load carrying
kc10 going into LGB, weird
If only I could get up there
looks like it did a few touch & go’s and left. strange
ksli has been busy with uh60s and c130s lately
Maybe I’ll have to take a little trip up that way some day, definitely want to hit point mugu eventually
@oblique torrent just saw ur reel at pacific airshow wonder if we were there at the same time lol
i went sunday, if i recall you had gone earlier not sure
Oh right I went Friday, but didn’t we go to the museum at the same time on Saturday or something
oh yeah we were at lyon lol
Ok that’s what I thought, kinda forgot, did you see that got that mustang thing going on in March
didnt even know about this lol thanks
👍
why we have c17s and c5ms
Not the point, why have C-130J-30s in the first place if they use them like a low capacity C17 anyway

I see where you’re coming from I guess the only reason the cargo version is still in service is because of so many of the other versions get used more so they might as well just keep C 130 would be stupid just to retire just one of them when they still have 12 different models
True - part interchangeability is important
But that hasn’t stopped the US having tonnes of aircraft that do the same job in the past
why have lots of money with no toys😂
What lens?
Texan was on the 150-600 Sigma (Sport), A400 and MC-130 on the Sony 70-200 2.8 GM
Mach loop?
Lake District, Mach Loop is terribly overrated
Really? Why is that?
No RAF frontliners can go through it, and it’s not nearly as busy as the lakes these days
Ahh where was those pic taken tho?
Lake District… LFA17
North West England
Nice
Accidentally caught him in 4k😭
Taken with my grandpas old Nikon SLR
A400M escorted by two JAS-39 Grippen
woah
Amazing pictures
(Unedited)
Edit it
Lens was also filthy😭
You’ve cut part of the tail off
I didn’t even know the plane was coming so it’s the best shot I have💀
As you can see, I’m horrible at editing
I’m still learning though
For this one, I’d just crop it in some from the front and top
Center the plane in frame, maybe leave some room to the right so there’s an appearance of movement into the frame
Stop down the lens some, you’re getting chromatic aberrations on the wheels
If these are shot wide open, you can get down to f8 and be alright
im trying to upload my pics to Jetphotos but it says i need them to be small resolution but when i scale them down i dont meet the minimum file size limit of 250kb any advice?
Btw its the pic of the Swiss plane above
Export your JPEG at 100 percent quality
Then find a middle ground
You can also export at max quality, but at certain pixel dimensions
Should be an option in most editors’ export settings
The thing is jet photos only accepts 1080x1920 images no higher
Well that’s not been an issue for me
snowy day
Not the best quality but oh well lol
sorry for the bad quality
I wish I had my camera for this one but imo cool composition
Didn't bother to edit or smth cause it's shit
Not sure what planes, but some crop dusters
2 C-130’s sucks I couldn’t get better pics
All depends on what distance you’re shooting from
That’s good for short distance and medium distance
I use a 55-300 which works fast
As above, depends if you’re doing fenceside stuff of airliners or military. The smaller your intended subject or the further away you’re going to be the longer focal length you want. Hell, sometimes the runway the aircraft are on matters.
There’s a lot to consider lmao
I tend to use a 150-600 if I’m at the upwind end of the airfield, 70-300 if I’m under the approach but the aircraft are small, 70-200 if they’re larger or I get right under the approach
I have spotted with a 24-70
but that was at Barcelona right under the approach (I wouldn’t get a lens like that for spotting but just to illustrate just how much it really does depend on your shooting conditions)
we did it boys we got ourselves a dedicated channel
it's been here for months
Was just abt to go to Heathrow but they are landing on the wrong runway 😔
Gladiator glider?
Viking TX.1
Heathrow today
April fools 😦
Myrtle avenue?
Sadly yesterday the planes where landing on 09L so we had to go to another place (a field under the flight path)
Ah ok
Do recommend
lets go
F35 ?
who called me?
ur mom
also isn't it incredible
you have to be at the right angle to see
the afterburner
how do you edit like dat lmao i dont edit my photos cuz i suck at editing
turn contrast up
make it slightly over sharpened
you know
slightly
have the right lighting conditions
im assuming ur a relitively new photographer (correct me if wrong) but try and overexpose the plane by a bit (or none) when shooting (also shoot in raw) and then when you edit the pic lower exposure to get good pic
just expose correctly
lol what
"overexpose the plane"
yes, let's add more exposure to an object that's usually brighter than its surroundings
glidr
W
didnt American Airlines merge with U.S Airways? such as the whole Jetblue and Spirit situation?
id assume they did and theyre giving a lil nudge to U.S Airways with this livery
Ive personally seen a American Airlines livery
ive seen Southwest and United but i didnt get a good picture of either
the United plane i didnt get a picture of at all
trying to get liveries during golden hour
but not much luck rn
USAF F-16 Prepares to stop on the taxiway...

DISCLAIMER: THE F-16 WAS OKAY

737?
Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor Pushing Her Engine To The Limits Before Making a Full Vertical Climb
What camera stuff do you use?
i got more of beginner stuff
theres my cam
not the best
I use a Canon EOS Rebel T7 and William Optics RedCat 51 telescope
nice
i got like a 70-300mm zoom lens
not the best but i might try to save up to upgrade
these are the spots i would usually get with it
this is a better example
American Airlines 787
the first photo is a Kalitia Air 747
i dont get any low flyern so i need better stuff for my spotting
southwest liveries>
My discord is weird, I dont get notifications anymore lmao😂 I guess experimenting, I do a lot of contrast in my pictures, but the light was perfect for this. It was still pretty early and the background was a dark Grey cloud which created alot of contrast already! So as I said, experiment with settings, eventually you will get a good result
ok, thanks
I underexpose my shots, underexposed data isn't lost, overexposed data is gone. No way to correct
rq, is that the F-16A Dream Viper Livery? i think i see a hint of green on the bottom of the Fuselage
also that eurofighter picture if my FAVORITE TYPE of pic
Vapor & Afterburner
and the Dream Viper is my FAVORITE
Jup, you can also tell its the Baf display because of the -G's😂
Got some more vapors and burners!
i swear that dream viper pilot is crazy good
Our Belgian pilots are top ranked😉😂
Looking forward to the new display, he shares a lot of practise clips and man.. the things he does.. it's insane!
didnt he pull like a -G Split S?
Could be, haven't seen everything.. he does do a Cuban eight but he doesn't roll out so he stays inverted and does -G to get level again
that must be like torture to the pilot
Yea, vapors also come on the bottom
wow
Honestly got no idea..
This one is definently one of em
just guess idc
DAMNNNN
Lightroom
2 years experience for me 🙂 still got a lot to learn!
So you don't edit?
i just use the Apple Photos settings (yes i use mac)
i dont know how to, if i did i would
Ow ok, macs are good for running lightroom and etc.
Make adobe account and get lightroom
You can follow tutorials in the apps themself
I think that the first few days is free, honestly don't know how much you gotta pay for it. My dad has a free account from his work
dammit
i dont wanna use money for an editor
i mean i cant really just make someone else edit my shit, thats not really that smart tbh
i can try to find a free one
but idk
Sure or try to find a crack for it😂
yeah
i'm really trying to get something to edit this photo here
nice!!
i got a 747 comin right at me
LX-VCB

ill see him while he decends below 13K feet hopefully
sticking a plane window Infront of ur camera turns out to not be the best for image quality
i saw my first ever A380 the past saturday!
Columbus John Glenn International Airport in Columbus, Ohio
didnt land there
flew over at 40K feet
I really wanna get a telescope to spot them over my house
Get a large number of 747s flying into cologne at about 30k
I live by a cargo hub that has some 747s
Private 747 wtf
It's owned by the Royal family of qatar
They have like 5 or something and they charter them I think
oh
did not land there, however it flew over
i WISH it landed there
if it did i would die
that makes a lot more sense
mmmm
this is my best photo ive ever taken
love it
what a flex
Really?
There was another guy there
Yeah
I'm at a hangar party right now, but only have my phone.
Oops, there's no differential in the phone between the raw and jpegs.
Going to an airshow with some fast jets tomorrow, anyone got crucial tips?
Im going to see a whole 3 F-35Cs tomorrow, is there anything you recommend me doing to getting a good pic?
@alpine vale
Zoom lens and fast shutter speed
sounds about right
Anyone got any tips for editing photos taken in cloudy weather? Some of my shots are alright but others aren't so good
A little extra local contrast will help separate cloudy backgrounds
That image you posted is good as is
Alright, thanks
That’s all you really need
You have any social or website ??
On a crop sensor it’s pretty close to ideal tbh
105-450 is a useful equivalence
I've only got 70-200
But it's 135-300 because im on a crop sensor
I've thought about getting a 2× teleconverter, anyone here have any experience with them?
They’re useful, but you lose some image quality and potentially autofocus
Newer TCs are quite nice
Well I'm not too bothered about the autofocus given its a really high quality lens that can still be decent with stuff like that reduced, but yeah I've seen thats the main issue when reading around
Yeah
F5.6 for planespotting is fine
Just that using the lens as it is has been limiting in some cases
Like when I'm trying to catch aircraft banking on departure
I know guys who run 150-600s for that specific shot
600 would be the max zoom after adding the tele so that's good to know
I assume you’re on a crop body
Saw an antonov yesterday
what?
That’s the 6L approach at Cleveland
Ah nevermind then
I’m told it looks similar to somewhere in WA
I thought it was Buffalo
That was taken with a 75-300mm
You aren't really getting anything big
Sometimes you can catch an IAero 737-300/-400
blue angle
From the garden
Qatar cargo has 747-8F's
Sorry for responding so late😅 I was offline from discord for a while, but yes I do have a instagram. Name is in the picture.
Is a 75-300mm lens enough for airshows? The crop factor would be 1.6x making it effectively 480mm, right?
Don’t buy a 75-300
But that general focal length would work
You want a 100-400 or longer
But a 70-300 can be used
Why do I find my lens is sharper at f2.8 than f5
Or even f3.2
Got way sharper shots when they were a few hundred feet away
But about half a mile and the narrower apertures started to work better
Yeah that's what i want generally
But the 75-300mm costs $300 brand new while the 100-400mm costs >$800 used and a X-600mm are around $1200-1800 used so
@wary wren so I shouldn't buy a 75-300mm but a 70-300mm is fine? What are the general differences?
75-300 is the cheapest telephoto Canon sells
It bleeds color aberration (green/red fringing on hard contrast lines) and isn’t very sharp. 70-300 USM II is a step up.
First upload to jetphotos that might actually be successful
CAG bird flew through Cleveland
ok
What’s the camera/lens?
Nikon d60 and it was a 55-200
I want to get a new camera and lenses in the future
Upgrade the glass first
You can find old 300f4 primes for not much money, that’s a good low-priced entry to faster glass
I know it’s gonna sound like a very dumb question but are there any cameras that can record and take photos at the same time
Like, do video and photos at once?
yes
ok
i would just attach a video camera to the hotshoe
I imagine they want less wide video than you'd get with that option
Air Canada in the frosted leaf! I love that livery
A340 ?
Ohhhh Thanks mate
what software uses ai to denoise
can i send you a raw file so i can see how well it works
alright i’ll send in a bit im in school
Cool
Does photoshop have any feature/plugin for ai denoise?
Could really do with it in some cases
Just use Lightroom’s
MD11 showed early tonight
Yeah it's great
Awe lucky
Don't have lr on my laptop lol
It's too shitty to be able to have both at the same time
would love to see a little more bokeh
the warehouse in the back looks like it’s part of the subject
@rocky panther
@sterile fern
i live pretty close to duxford air museum and ive tried to get pictures there many times but they're all crap because i didn't have enough zoom and the quality was too low to zoom in afterwards.
ive seen most the people there shooting with the massive lenses that cost thousands i was wondering is there a way to do it without a 4 thousand pound lense would a 70-300mm maybe be enough or is it a lost cause
You don't need a lens that costs £1000 to take half decent pics
There's easily some really good ones in the 500-800 range, I'm not entirely sure on your camera (is it a nikon?) but there's plenty of lens reviewers on the internet who put detailed descriptions of each lens and which is best for price/quality
yeah its a nikon f mount
is there anything closer to the udner 300 dollar range im on a student budget
Under 300 and you'll start to be getting into the territory of "super budget" zoom lenses
Those that you can use, but will be a struggle since they're often not very sharp and need a lot of light to be used for moving subjects
I'm not really an expert but I'd try saving up for a better option if I were you. There may be some good ones I just don't know of though, so just search up best budget telephoto lenses or something
ok thanks for the help will do
actually one more quick question how many mm do the lenses you guys use have if that makes any sense
like i have a 17-50mm one now which is obviously on a telephoto but how many would you want for plane photography
70-200
I didn't buy it specifically for plane photography but it works fine
Don't go for such a short lens though, go for like 300mm+
ok i think there were some budget lenses recommended in this server at that range i think
i might look into those thanks for the help
love it
Thanks!
any thoughts
Cropped a bit too tight and why is it pinkish lol
Apart from the editing great picture tho
Yeah the crop is way too tight
I’d have run the shutter slower for that full-disc prop look
Tint is too red, check your white balance
I’d set your white reference to the invasion stripes and go from there
Better? Sorry widest I can go with crop
Keep on forgetting my computer turns funny colours after 9 lol
Might’ve pushed it too far but idk
never heard anyone get too zoomed in a picture of a flying plane
Honestly so bad
those are incredible
indeed
Thanks:)
DHL airbus A300 flying over
Batik Air A320 waiting for takeoff
Is that a French Hunter? I think I see a French flag there
British
It's red white and blue from the nose, not blue white and red
The flag on the tail i thought was French lol
But whatever
Lockheed Martin Hercules C.4/C.5 appreciation post before their premature retirement
Thought I was a good plane spotter to I saw those pics
What cam?
Zfc, Sigma 120-300/2.8
Love both F18 and F22
Needa edit
what camera do you use?
A340-600
Nikon d60.
A400
How do you folks go about shooting aircraft at airports, what techniques and lenses do you use?
i just used my 30mm but definitely shoot with higher shutter
Damn, shooting aircraft with a 30mm is a suprise
higher shutter speed makes sense
that was with my 30mm just cropped it a bit
Damn, that’s awesome
it flew right over my head though so for spotting at airport you need zoom for sure
I find the best light and bring a fast zoom
That way I have a huge buffer of apertures to run through before I have to touch ISO while keeping the shutter where I want it, and I prefer to keep ISO low
120-300/2.8 is ideal, but expensive
Yeah, best I can do is 150-300 f/3.5-5.6
I will give it a shot though
That will work for 80 percent of cases
I use a 70-200 f2.8 but that's because I had it previously
I'd suggest more zoom for aircraft shots
Unless you find a spot close enough to the approach that is
I think this was about 135mm
I use my 150-600 from sigma, and I almost always go full 600 to challenge me a bit and somethimes the results can be good!
I’ve got one just about under the runway, so I’ll have good shots of planes on takeoff or landing, straight overhead
Shouldn’t even need much zoom for that
Oh right like head on shots and stuff?
These are incredible
Third shot especially
More like bellow and slightly in front
Say 70° angle on the ground if you draw a line from camera to the nose of the aircraft
If you're directly under the approach path you can easily get some nice head ons
I've only done one before
I’ll try that as well
Well one that i liked
the great thing is the runway crosses exactly over a road with a sidewalk
meaning I can get some good shots there
Might not embed
But I got that from around the same trajectory, except it was a little further away than you're saying I think
Looks good, I’ll definitely try and replicate that
thanks!
Thanks!
Not good, but my first attempt at plane photos. Snapshot taken while walking in town, not from the spot I mentioned earlier
Plane was high and a bit far so it’s heavily zoomed in here
Was on 6k Feet, starting final
wow can i ask how you get the dark background effect
Combination of Vignette and exposure
Pan
plan
D-CAWX
Ah I see thanks
I didn't even notice that while editing lol
And awesome photos dude
What lens did you use?
Thanks, I'm sorry but why would my lens matter?
Love the one with the F-16 and bird
I'm researching what lenses people use cause I'm planning on buying one
Good lenses you can use for aviationphotography are litterly every focal length.. you can take shots with fisheyes, wide angles, telephoto and supertele but I used my Sigma 150-600 to get those shots.
Yea I'm also a fan of that one, gives some depth in the shot and more perspective + action
For this I used an 18mm so🤷♂️
What camera did you use, is it a crop sensor or full frame?
thanks!
Both have cropped sensors.
So my 150-600 is probably a 225-900mm
Makes sense, nice
Over edited in my opinion..
💥
got to see this beast at santa pod raceway
I have some photos of the P-39 and the B-17 from mere minutes before the crash. I'll post them later. I met the pilot of the 39 earlier that day, he was a nice man.
It was barely edited lol
Not great tbh but it’s smth
Some of those planes have black halos.
Rip the video is horrible to watch
Yeah, that was such a sad day
couldn't find the image unfortunately
beautiful
WizzAir A320 & RyanAir 737
is this better? with the lighter sky
I think that could be the perspective tbh
No
It's a dark blue normally
Like it still is around the yellow part
that other part literally matches the sky perfectly which seems to be a masking mistake
ya @quasi beacon is right
masking mess up on my part
Def fix that ^^
the masking is fixed now
just need to figure out what kind of sky it would fit
like does this work @quasi beacon
is it just a random edit?
kinda
trying to figure out the sky
cause the original has underexposed sky
darker than that even
cause i had exposure comp at -1.3
and i just heard jet engines over my head
something like this kinda
though i feel like i need to brighten up the planes a bit
is it a raw?
was originally yes
You using light room?
usually but photoshop for this one
Use lightroom and mask sky then play around with settings
there's a mask sky option
on the raw file of course
it's in photoshop as well
i'm combining two photos so i gotta use photoshop
did a sky selection then inversed it
and then adjusted curves
reworked masking
Beautiful
thanks!
Eurofighter pilot greeted me
always fun when they do
it looks like he flipped you off

Lmao yeah i thought that too but its this->🤙
Boeing E-3A Sentry
Eurocopter UH-72A Lakota
Boeing KC-46A Pegasus
Here’s a life flight I got I know the picture is bad but I had to do some editing to make it more viable but thanks to the clouds it made it bad
Airbus A300B4-622R(F) FedEx
I think i need to fix the colours still
But its not bad for a picture whilst taxiing
I did a bit of extra tweaking, side by side vs the raw, could i do anything different?
The original picture stays the best Imo lol
😭
dunno why i don't really like the original sky
seems kinda off putting to me
Nah the darker sky gives a good amount of contrast between the 2 aircrafts. If I was you, I would try to keep that contrast amount.
I'm also just against photoshopping so😂, the picture is a lie then..
You can't have everything in photography.. you gotta be happy with what you can capture.. don't ruin the scene.. try to keep it as real as possible
yeah that's true
though i take photography more as an artform rather
and art isn't always completely true
also i'm still rather new to photography (~a year) so it's simply convenient
The sunset picture is stunning
I am jealous you have such a good location to take photos
I barely see any chromatic aberration
Are you seriously necro’ing a comment from 6 months ago
Anyway it’s there, check the nose gear
Is this a RCAF C-130 ? Oh and I too have a t7
Wow what lens did you use
William Optics RedCat 51
Nice
The first one is a Mig29 right?
yessir
Wonderful plen (and picture!)
thanks!
I have a choice between two lenses
It's either Sony FE 70-200 f/4 G OSS or Sigma 100-400 f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary
They would go on a Sony a6000 with a crop factor of 1.5x
Ya'll think I could manage to get some decent airshow photos with a 70-200?
(70-200 is $850, 100-400 is $725)
I mean a G lens really is that top of the line quality
But for airshows idk if 70-200 would be enough
If it were a 70-200 f2.8, I'd say go for it because that is a fantastic lens, but I'm not an expert on the f4 version
However against the sigma lens, it would definitely produce some higher quality stuff at the cost of reduced zoom range
So its up to you, do you value the highest quality shots or the highest range of shots?
i currently only have a 16-50mm kit and a prime 50mm f/1.8 (75mm ffeq)
so i'm looking into getting something with zoom capability
I'd love to get into aviation and wildlife photography
but i don't think that the 100-400 would be enough for wildlife?
i only started doing photography a year ago in september and just bought my first camera in early july of this year
so i have no idea which way to go tbh
a 150-600 is a dream
but man the prices
Ask in #📞・gear-help-archived @tacit flame
Go for the 150 600, thrust me it's worth the price.. I got the sigma and it's sharp af
Went to norvenich recently 🙂
you mean the Sigma 100-400 that would be 150-600 in 1.5x crop
or Sigma 150-600 that would be 225-800 in 1.5x crop
cause i can get the 100-400 for $700
and 150-600 is like $1.5k
ya that looks awesome
Nah not 100-400, also a beast. But 150-600 is a perfect amount of zoom for airshows. I only try to take pics at 600mm to get the close up shots and etc. But a 70-200 F2.8 would also be really good if you go a evening show.. you offcourse get the f2.8 so it's perfect in low light.. the F4 would also be good but I also own the a6000 and it's pretty shit with higher ISO.
150-600 contemporary lens from sigma is 1000 I think ( atleast for me)
cheapest one is used for 1200
and new is 1600
the 70-200 f/4 is 800
and the 70-200 f/2.8 is 2.5k lol
But the Sport lens or the contemporary? Huge difference in price
contemporary
Ow yea it's a GM master lens so it's expensive , but you do get quality.. I mean the F4 should also be fine.. you will only have a bit more trouble shooting in the dark.
Only 959€ for me new
Damn.. how can it be that much different in price lol
Well the 70-200 F4 from sony is 1.2k for me
850 on mpb
excellent condition
only sport is on mpb sadly
Ooo I found a chat 🤩
