aviation photography is a lot about focal lengths, for airshows you really want that 600mm reach, for like spotting a 70-300 would do you well, or even something up to 200 if you can get close enough

also larger apertures help a bit, the weather is a big variable as well, cause a sunny day could backlight all your photos and a cloudy day can make them just perfect

If they’re landing 24R, The Aviator parking lot is good for landings and the office park at 2001 Aerospace Parkway is best for 6L

6R/24L is getting use for departures, you can see that from the same locations but it’s more difficult thanks to some terrain
