does this theoretically count as "wildlife"?
Those are awesome
yes ofc
Skeptical on if this is "wildlife" or not
If it’s a wild animal, and not domesticated, then it counts as wildlife. So yes, this counts.
I mean it can be anything as long as it’s living
I didnt know my plants could be tagged with wildlife as well lol
What you’re saying is that if it’s alive, it’s wildlife? That means your pets are wild?
Wildlife is classified as any animal that is wild and not domesticated by humans
yeah pets arent wild imo, dogs and cats arent really how theyd be in the wild, why idont let mine outside with actual wildcats, bears and stuff around
I just found this place, so here's a Sandhill Crane I was able to snag a pic of 🖤
Oh yeah Ik, I might change this to animal photography at some point for now it’s just gonna be wild stuff then
Vote: change the name to animal photography instead of wildlife?
meow
mrow
is that a golden eagle?
saw one of those quite recently
maybe im wrong though
It is
I would really like to this this photo in a high contrast black and white
Hi, i'm new here. Just wanna share some pics, getting feedback and meeting some new people to learn from. Happy to be here.
That is an amazing picture
the distant elephant makes the shot
pollination birb
Looks really good to me. I wish a had these kind of birds in my area.
thanks, theyre not too uncommon here, usually get two a year
theyre about the size of a dragonfly
Nice pic
Some black an white zebras. But this one is a sad one. The little one lying was fataly injured, and the mom was alone on the side defending it from everything aproaching.
😦
Nice, really like the third one
Thanks, that's my latest one. I've learned a lot since the moth (But I still like it).
Yeah it looks also cool. But me neither i'm not a pro 😅
: D
just a little side eye
Time for some morning wash
So I posted a few lion pictures here quite a while back. Here are some more pics from my recent trip to africa!
nice photo! maybe could have shot witha higher shutter speed thoug
Any reason why?
To reduce a large amount of the motion blur you got going on
nevermind, took a closer look and it seems fine. Could look blurry because of the atmosphere
No motion blur here, the horizon is several miles away
That’s just a somewhat shallow depth of field
obviously I do not mean the background...... the subject is what matters here
Looks a tiny bit blurry on the edges of the birb
If so it’s very marginal, this lens is not the absolute sharpest so that might be part of it
The wings are perfectly fine in my eyes. You may just be pixel peeping too hard
Yeah I think it is focused properly. Maybe some distortion? Maybe? But that's only if I really zoom and look for something. Over 99% of Earth's population wouldn't even consider that a problem.
The focus is correct, I’m sure of that
Lens is on an FTZ adapter, which hasn’t caused issues in the past
Anyway, they're all nice captures. If you did want feedback though, I would kind of want a tighter crop on the bird. I know it's important to give a moving subject space, but dead center doesn't work, here, also it's too much space.
Really amazing shots, though. I'm jealous you got to see them beasties in the real.
i see what you mean, yeah
This is more a snapshot than an professional photo, the only way to take pictures in the water for me is my gopro. But still love it
nice
so cool man where is it
In Serengeti national park
Serengeti is amazing, did you also visited the ngorongoro crater?
yes we did!
actually
Was only 1 day there, also when it isn't that big i would have stayed at least another day there.
I want to return so bad 😭
lol me to actually
Also want to discover namibia. I think that will be the next africa trip
A Wren-Warbler and a Malay Myna
Red ruffed lemur
is that a chinese water deer
or smth like that
ive forgot the exact name
wait nvm im dumb
That is a female White Tailed Deer in the Tennessee mountians 🙂
oh ok
Favorite shot of this weekend
Night butterfly
A moth, but same general idea
There are nocturnal butterflies, though I am not sure if this is one of them.
Indian Silverbill
Sparrow
This Parrot one is a really fun picture. Shame it isn't bigger.
welp
NSFW tag. amitrite.
King Vulture
(i saw one in the wild while i was on the road)
really rare to see one lol
This is definitely one of the most unique birds I have ever seen.
Nice shot but it looks like your focus was a bit off. What was you aperture at?
I don’t remember tbh, I had it set on creative auto.
What camera did you use? Is creative auto a focus mode?
It’s a canon rebel t6 with a 75-300 mm zoom lens. Creative auto is the CA on the mode dial
Oh okay. Yeah I am not too familiar with canon's modes.
Ah well it’s one of the basic ones that usually comes in a kit
You could still see what aperture you're at by looking at the information in the metadata of the picture. You can right click properties and look at detail.
Even if you're shooting in some kind of auto mode
I was out hunting dragonflies today and some macaques started getting interested in what I was doing. One mother even climbed a tree and started trying to catch the dragonflies.
Which is the best out of these three, do you reckon?
I like the third one
He looks delicious. It looks like it lays starburst instead of eggs and regurgitates Hawaiian Punch.
Got lucky at the local park on an overcast day
wildlife photography photos
Is anyone else not able to follow the thread?
Oh weird, I was following it but now I'm not and it won't let me.
Based birb enjoyer
There's a decent gap in the rainy weather we've been having and I'm going to a spot recommended to me for birbs, wish me luck.
had a little bit of luck but the light was shit
made a bunch of silly rookie errors too
man if I had set the shutter speed a lil faster for the last one it would of been dope
Purdy
the pics ain't nothing special, but the wood pecker is a rather rare guest at our garden :p
No worries, the window for compliments on a person's work never closes! 😎😏
Anyone here got pics of Acorn Woodpeckers?
hh
Dat bill
hi
the second one is eurasian coot?
wow
Hardhead duck
Flamingooo
Had you posted this before? It's a great shot. I feel like I've seen it somewhere before.
I posted this on my instagram a couple months ago, you mightve also seen it in a different channel on this serv
ohh
I loooove this shot
Poor quality brown shrike. But, I like the perch.
oops.. I watermarked it without meaning to.. didn't notice that till I posted it. Oh well
i found big small eagle
That is an awesome shot
thanks, quite a few eagles in that area
will go there again some day, seen some air bubbles in the water, they might be fishing
oooh silvereye
Nah bro
You just casually found one in the wild
That wild never happen in England
Would*
Looks similar to a bird we have here called a white-eye
these are from todays trip
queensland
First guess due to the kookaburra but didn't want to assume
I mean they're here too but technically invasive so nobody in the local groups posts pics of them
or rarely
which state is that?
WA
Ezo brown bear blep
Oh cool
Black kite trying to hang out with the "boys"
But wait, wouldn't you of been yeeted by the mother bear being that close?
Good spot, that was a juvenile
fair
An Intermediate Egret
So this is not a great photo, but I like it because I spotted these green doves and I took a ton of photos from different angles before realizing I was photographing two different birds.
Also got to watch some salmon get tricked into going into a processing plant instead of up the river. Which was cool, but kind of tragic.
Hurse

They're not great pictures (under the canopy at a distance my lens couldn't reach). Even still, I like this little birb. He cute.
birb
birb
Nothings been here for a while
birdy birb
Someone say kingfisher?!
Sacred kingfishers are super common in West aus
Especially this time of year they become super active
pretty cool that you found a barn owl tho
I'd seen them in the area before but it'd been like 8 months since
decided to check it out
Nice
that's technically no wildlife, but enjoy this sheep
very fluffy
Try get down to eye level
Eye level makes for way more interesting shots because of the perspective
This is a shit example tbh but you get what I mean
^^ Getting on eye level always makes an animal image better, but it's not always easy to do
Sometimes it can be very hard to get on eye level, especially if it's a water bird such as the coot that you photographed. Those coots are normally in marshes where it's not safe to get in the water or even down to the grassline due to gators, snakes, or other dangerous water animals
Yes, it's like the hardest thing to do with small birds at ground level
Some of your images are also overexposed, I'm guessing this is because you were shooting at midday. There's nothing you can really do against the harsh midday sun, and that's why it's most beneficial to go shooting in early morning during golden hour (sunrise), or late evening during golden hour (sunset). At these times the light is always pleasing and easy to photograph in. Cloudy days also work since the sun is covered up like a "natural softbox"
We actually already worked on that in #🧐・gallery-comments.
oh oops didn't see that
Nah, Bungins needs to be told many times.
Just like I needed to be told to get down on my belly multiple times until it sunk in
I would of if I could, but this was on a broadwalk through the wetlands
it would of meant getting in the water
yes exactly
The thing that often limits me is my parents just want to walk quickly and leave
LOL
haha I always have to be very cautious due to alligators being everywhere
I have done some stuff where I've gotten on the ground for perspective
Just often the places I go to it's not really possible
But keep the constructive criticism coming, I am new to this so I need to learn
Alright sure
Tbh
Try balance the foreground and background
What equipment do you have?
very little
thought this was funny enough to share, sometimes you just get this stuff when photographing birds
got this one too
with the butterfly, i think you need to brighten up the picture a bit to really bring out the butterflies color. i feel its a bit too dark.
nice contrast
Bee eater!
Ooooh
Those are sick!
Thanks! I've really been concentrating on macro recently.
man your bug photography is fantastic
@warped trench Thanks! I have more on my IG in my profile, if you're interested. I'm always trying to improve. I like your birds, especially the waterfowl.
@warped trench what lens do ya shoot with
Sigma 150-600 C

falconry exhibit
The composition is strong and the pose is dynamic.
It's a nice photo for real
The mix of Color’s kinda disrupts the subject apart from that these are cool
hummingbird on film :)
What speed film for this?
400 I think. It was lomo metropolis
froze the action well, very hard with hummers
Great! We just got some black faced spoonbills migrating here, too. So cool
Red Tail hawks seem pretty cool
While editing, I noticed he’s got the residue of his last meal on his beak
Generally the most common Bird of prey we see where I am is these guys
Brown Goshawks are supposedly the most numerous but this is the one we see the most
Common kestrel?
Nankeen kestrel
Nice we have some kestrels near our house and pygmy owls great grey owls in the forests and lots of white tailed eagles
and way too many moose
they're everywhere
I'd love to both photograph a moose and hunt one
legally with the required tags and licences of course, managed hunting = big conservation funding
Monkey time ! I'll come back soon with more
monke
More monkeys !

MOONKAY
What are those
Rainbow Bee Eaters
What bird?
White-rumped Shama
Probably my best and favorite picture I’ve taken
Not bad! What is it?
Australia doesn't have hummingbirds? Didn't know that.
Little female hummingbird, we have them all over where I live
And a raven in the back, minding his own business
They fighting over something?
These three about to drop a fire album
I'd pick that one up
Straight Outta Hokkaido
canadian honk
Close-up
The bobcat that lives at the park I work at
I caught a bobcat hunting at work
^^
Thanks guys
nice little snack
Fox I seen a few days back
White-throated dipper catching a fish
Imagine having the other shot when the birb comes out
I do but it was kinda bad
Malay lizard, these beasts roam free in a park in the middle of Bangkok. I wonder how "wild" they are and how many accidents already happened.
Not really a great picture but I thought the animals were worth sharing.
I really liked the texture of this whole photo
Idk why but I keep looking my follow on this channel.
Idk why I keep loosing my follow on this channel.
Anybody have experience with taking photos of a bobcat
Finding one is the trouble
That is nice
You should edit it and up the exposure though
Or maybe it’s just my screen
it is edited
How much was this cropped in btw...kinda losing res for some reason probably just because Dc compression idk
I really don't have the best camera gear so that's why, I just wanted to share my photo + I'm a beginner
here's a better edited photo
There's heavy chromatic aberration
Try to fix it or maybe make it B&W
as i said.
Neither do I. I completely understand your situation, just dropped a feedback
Removing the purple artefacts around the subject would definitely improve the photo
I'm talking about these purple artefacts
Yeah might try doing that, it might make the photo better
White-tailed eagle
nice pic
does this count? (female blackbird)
lol xD
Nice photo I kinda wish you could see more of the reflection in the water
Thanks! I wish he was farther out from the shore so i could have done that. This was a blind luck visit from this Egret.
Spring is here!
Oooh, what bird?
Northern Lapwing🙂
Any tips on canon autofocus for birds and fast moving targets
Nice
thx
I know it’s not always possible. But with small birds try to get down on their level
Because the background is quite uninteresting when you look at the photo
yeah but i was in a car
i always try to get eye level but it wasn't really possible
it was just a quick photo driving to my friends house
i wasn't really going to take photos he just appeared out of nowhere
Ah I see
Rough legged buzzard and a Canada goose
so i want to get started in wildlife photography. ive got a sony a5000 laying around and was wondering if i should get a lens for it or just sell it and get a nikon d300 and a nikon 300mm lens will will be around $350. I dont want to spend very much as im just getting in to it. Idk if teh sony a5000 would be a good camera for wildlife so just curious
Good question, I never use a Sony a5000 so I read about it and the only thing that can be weak for wildlife is that its reaction time is slow so your camera must be ready all the time. But to be honest, I think your canera should be ready all the time for wildlife even if its very fast.
As a general advice, if you already have a decent camera, I would say put your money on the lens. The thing is, if you start to buy a set of lenses for a specific camera, if you already planned to buy a new camera later, you may have to switch all the lenses too if you’re not careful of the compatibility.
That being said, and especially for wildlife, I’d still prefer putting the money on the lens than the body
What sort of wildlife do you want to photograph
300mm is what I have and if u take a look at my shots it works pretty well
Anything really
Are there any budget lenses for Sony cameras?
not sure, I myself use a canon
this is just so insane https://youtu.be/5qvVNzsJyB0
Unrecord is a single-player FPS that tells the story of a tactical police officer from the perspective of his body camera. As you work to solve a complex case, you'll need to use your tactical and detective skills to succeed.
Disclaimer: The gameplay footage you are about to see is from an early version of Unrecord and is not indicative of the ...
Do you know if I put a Nikon lens to sony camera adapter on, will it affect the image quality? I found a Nikon lense that’s a descent price
Sorry to bother but i really loved the compo of the second image well done!
Not bothering anyone, 😂 thank you, it’s one of my favourite images
Oh cool I didn't know this existed
Noice
Is that in the NFWP by any chance
Kruger National Park '23
It’s been a. While
Feel free to talk about wildlife photography and post your own here 🙂
roar!
Nice!
Here’s some of mine: most of these are quite recent and I think I posted two of them on some channels but it’s just to start this post off
I love the deer 🙂
Thanks!
the foreground and background give it some nice three dimensionality
I have a few more of the deer which I’m considering editing further, what do you think of these ones in comparison to the other?
Idk why I just think the first one there looks cool cause it’s like looking out into the light
But I’m not sure so it would be awesome to get other peoples opinions
the most fun, yet most patience testing genre of photography imo
For sure
No wildlife photography doesn’t necessarily have to be taken out in the wild
Wildlife is just photos of animals that would normally live in the wild (that’s how I think of it)
Nice photos!
debatable on who you ask. some would say at a zoo is cheating, i dont, i think its a really good way to practice photography in a controlled environment.
That’s cool!
I mean I guess it’s personal preference
yeah
If you want to get an easy photo, go to a zoo.
i love shooting at zoos
I did also get to feed and pet this tiger cub!
though i won’t advertise a shot from the zoo as wildlife photography without mentioning it was at a zoo
If you want the challenge and reward of finding an animal in the wild and photography it, but also the risk of being disappointing after finding nothing, go out in the wild
Personally I think photography in the wild is more rewarding I suppose
Cause there’s more elements to it than just taking the shot
Niceee
(This was from a year or so ago)
What focal length?
I can see I’ve improved a ton
zoos definitely have ops for amazing photos
If I remember correctly I think it was 300mm
Damn y’all must have low apeprture
Nah I think it was 5.6
Yes I was gonna say
on a 600mm f5-6.3
I did get a photo tonight if a baby grebe
Yeah
Sport or contemporary?
contemporary
Nice
i wish i had the sport
I’ve improved a lot since this photo
than id be fully water resistant
Taken with a camera from 2004 at 300mm handheld.
I’m considering it now… £870 instead of my contemporary
The focus tho lmao
You talking about signas?
Sigma*
Yeah
I’m saving up for contemporary 150-600
i have no money rn so im stuck with what i have. wanna try the nikkor 200-500 heard its super fast
What’s the difference between contemp and sport
Fair, banging lens as it is
sport has slightly better bq, water resistant, i think it’s a bit faster and optically better
Bit faster for AF, water sealed, better elements, but heavier cos of that
Yeah
What’s water sealed mean
And is it too heavy to be handheld?
Water resistant
Nope I do it fine
How much more does it cost
weather proof. weather sealing would be useless paired with a d3200
D3200 is not waterproof right
i have only ever handheld my sigma 150-600
Couple hundred quid
no
If there’s a tiny drizzle it doesn’t have much effect tho right
Also the contemp weighs about 4 pounds
What would heavy rain do to a camera liek the d3200
i mean DEFINITELY DONT TAKE THIS AS OFFICIAL ADVICE but my sigma has been rained on a few times and is fine
Might get into your lens or body
but def avoid
Get a sleeve if you’re worried
yeah florida it pours rain when its bright sun clear skies put like wtf
@slender zenith you use XQD’s?
hmm?
XQD cards
oh. yeah CFExpress
Yeah
yeah they sre expensive af and i hate it
Yup
absurdly expensive my beloved
Yup yup
for christmas im just gonna have everyone buy me CFExpress cards ngl
Lmaooo fair
first one
Oh yes
nice head on
HC I figure?
hmm?
wildlife, airplanes, birds
Continuous high
basically things that move fast
yeah
Pretty much same 😂😅
i was so pissed earlier
Oh?
i missed a chance to get a shot of this
because my dumbass left the battery out of my camera for transport
and i clicked the shutter button and nothing happened
Ooo nice I’ve been in a Hunter
That… that is what we call a rip
i went to KJAX after and not much happening there
yep
Oh also we have B-52’s and F-18’s over here at the moment
The airport?
but i saw a Breeze airlines most blue e190 ever
yeah
Hopefully we get some more photos on this it would be cool to see 👍
Good night! And good luck on the exam dude!
Thanks
best of luck
Pls anybody tell me which bird is this :D
some kinda heron
looks like a cardinal to me
birb and raccoon
Yeah I love photographing them I've found lots of short eared owls and hawk owls and one great gray owl
thanks, i was surprised ospreys make chirp noises
is there certain types of spots to look?
well when I'm out looking for short eared owls I go to fields and more open spots where they will mostly be cause the it's easier for them to hunt lemmings and mice
and for other owls I go to the forests with some open spots
i could prob track all the owls around here since i hear them all the time but they only come out when its very dark, still trying to find one lol
i did find one at my bird feeder once
it seems to always be the barred owls
at least with barred owls you can hear them from a mile away, some owls are a bit more quiet
quawk
Nice!
first subject of my new lens, not quite a bird lens though
hoping to get some of the smaller animals with it
Nice!
ty
man today was one hell of an adventure lol
@mild glade i broke the rule i was preaching so hard about the sigma 150-600 C yesterday
today
not to put it between your legs?
to get it wet. it got a bit wet but it be fine
oh
today
what font is your watermark
idk. just google digital signature png maker. thats what i used to make it
alright thanks
same heron, same time of day just a different position from the other side. Excellent sample of how much your position genuinely effects the lighting you get on your subject
first semi successful osprey shot after six months of trying
this is not of my satisfaction though, i will not be satisfied til i have captured a tac sharp osprey coming out of the water with a fish
unfortunately he dived on the opposite side of the lake from where i was on my kayak
also according to the two photographers on a different kayak on the side of the lake where he dived, he came out empty handed. mustve not been very hungry or out of energy because he gave up and returned to the nest
how’s it look
looks good. i prefer white for digital but that is down to personal taste
you good lol. looks nice
egrets beautiful wings on full display as it makes it's final approach for landing
beautiful pics, only problem with watermarks is people can just crop the photo
but you can also prove it’s your picture with watermarks
it’s enough to deter it most of the time. two photos stolen on different servers made me care enough to at least have one somewhere in there
to prove if someone cropped it or not
yep, that’s why i decided i wanted to include one
even a small one on the side
makes people second guess it
the fact that unlike them, I can tell them where how what settings what camera and lens and own the original raw unlike them is beyond enough
yup also true
it started as “oh cool my camera lets me do that” and turned into helping me prove my photo was stolen
be spittin out photos today. was def one of my best days overall
these lovely spoonbills really didnt want to work with me at all. closest i could get without bothering them
cropped
the other spoonbill
to all wildlife photographers, what mode do you guys shoot in?
Is this Wildlife already?
Generally full auto
really?
Yeah, most of the time. I set my aperture on my lens at most and then let my camera handle ISO and shutter
depends. continuous servo always, but i often use either 3D tracking, single point af, or group af. For exposure manual or manual w/auto iso
i feel like auto shutter is a risky game unless you are shooting a slower subject
beginning with bird photography rn
If I'm shooting in bad light I'll set the shutter speed. But generally Fuji does what I want.
Manual or aperture priority
Aperture priority for stills of animals who aren’t really moving
Manual for most stuff tho
i think i’m going to use manual with auto iso
or aperture priority prioritizing the shutter speed over the iso
my r6 has some custom function buttons and i tend to use them all, like I have one for birds in flight, one for landscape and one for closeup/macro
and fv is my more general one, manual having settings i use for astro
No cause on my way to where I want to shoot photos I will test out different settings to see what’s perfect
And once I have my iso set
I just change aperture and shutter speed while shooting
Cause some shots I’ll want a higher aperture or a lower one
Although normally apertures the only thing I chance
Since I tend to just run 1/1000 shutter speed
what is fv mode?
i don’t use canon
wish my camera had customs
its flexible priority mode
i guess the flexible priority comes from what the subject is, can change a lot of settings to auto
Seagulls!

What do you think about these photos?
what lens do you have
18-55mm apparently
about as good as it gets for such a small tele. Kit lens?
the birds could be sharper but i’ve never seen any of my lenses not do that when it’s so zoomed out
hold on i shall google translate
à peu près aussi bon que possible pour une si petite télé. Lentille en kit?
I have already translated the sentence with Google Translate but the translation is very bad
oh
figures
ima try again
Oh yeah, here it is zoomed at the maximum if I remember well
The photo is the about the best it will get with a small telephoto like the 18-55.
is that better
I took these pictures when the seagulls were flying very low
Oh ok
So my photo has the best render I can have with this type of zoom, right?
Yes, probably. Getting the birds any sharper than that is luck of the draw on that lens. Unless it is a shutter speed thing, what shutter speed did you shoot at?
I don't remember but I think it was at a quick shutter speed
Bird in flight photography across the board I’d personally recommend 1/2500-1/3200 if possible with lighting conditions, unless you are on a horizontal plane with the bird and doing a panning shot which is extremely difficult. But like I said, good shots for the lens you are working with.
Ok, I don't think it was as quick as you recommand
Thank you I am trying to make some progress
anytime
I made also some landscapes and photos of my dog but I don't know how good or bad they are
I am not a great landscape photographer myself. Definitely other people in the server able to offer much better insight on that
Ok 👍
so satisfying to clean gear after it gets a bit dirty in the outdoors
Those were taken with a d3200!!?!?
trying to remember the name of that bird i tried taking a photo of one once but the sun was being mean to me
yeah! it’s a good camera
does the 3200 have the 24MP sensor?
if you mean the one in that photo its a red winged blackbird
lots of blackbirds flew by, not enough range really though, only had my 100mm
In other news though I went there for beavers and I hear them
yes
so what is this forum about exactly ? Just about wildlife photography ?
essentially, and sharing photos
out in the florida heat again at possibly the best rookery in the state
ouch, Florida is rough at times lol
yeah particularly summer
yeah, thankfully I was always down in Florida around the fall and spring lol
ive been all times of year but good stuff comin
WOAH THATS AMAZING
I tend to focus on Zoo wildlife rather than native wildlife
Your Instagram is really cool too @slender zenith
Thanks ❤️
Of course!!!
This is one of my most recent wildlife photo
i love that so much. what type of lizard?
It is a juvenile veiled chameleon, they can get way bigger, I've also taken a photo of an alligator snapping turtle if you want to see it too
dont have the right lens on me but west african gaboon viper
awesome! i got to chill with that viper while it rained
i moved to a not so venomous viper populated shelter and now it’s torrential downpours
glad you got out safe and not near such a venomous viper lol
it’s behind glass but still no comforting 😂
anyways my camera is getting wet and i have nothing to cover it

love florida

What has been the most challenging photo you have ever taken ?
oh hmm
osprey in a tree from a kayak in the wind
probably
trying to share rn
Hurray!!
my cell service is too crappy. It’s probably not my hardest ever but definitely most challenging in past few of months for sure
I gotcha, still amazing that you were able to do that though!!
@shrewd garnet its in #960066755034771506 first couple of photos from yesterday @ 4:44 PM
oh nice!! So pretty recent!!
yeah
i have more stuff to upload in my portfolio channel but i cant get to stuff til im back home
Well I look forward to all the amazing photos you get!!
thx! I’d love to see some pf your work as well if you have more wildlife stuff 🙂
I have a ton actually!!

Just don't have a portfolio on discord lol, I use instagram if you want to check out my posts
heck yeah. What’s your tag?
photos_with_jay_108
👍
thanks Smoky! I'll drop you a follow too!!
also im obligated to ask as a nikon nerd, what type of camera do you shoot with?
@shrewd garnet you also part of Virginia gang?
yup I am a Virginia native lol
cool! Im a representative of Lynchburg/Campbell county. been in VA 7 years now
family stuff. comes with lots of freetime tho to enjoy the beautiful nature here
ah gotcha, that is good!! Hopefully you can visit some zoos down there, Florida has some pretty epic zoos
once im back in VA, Ill be in search of the blackbear, and timber rattle snake and i have a possible connection that can get me to both deep in a the appalachians
so hopefully works out lol
that sick!! I saw a dead black bear on the side of the road sadly, but thats really cool you can get photos of a wild black bear, be careful of course lol
ive seen one road killed by a semi, and three wild ones on different occasions before i was a photographer
it sucks to see that happen at times
ouch!! Deer are pretty dumb at times
wow that's tough
what’s wrong with the lens
the fact that its a 150-600 super telephoto and it’s about 12 inches away through clear plastic lol
Hi
Nice photo!
Thanks
ended the day with 1000+ frames and a very tired wrist lol
met a super kind lady that was shooting a z9 with an adapted 200-500, beautiful rig
super heavy camera for hours on end?
yeah
How many photos do you all normally take during a photography session
me, 200
anywhere from 100-400ish depending on what’s willing to work with me lol
awww
I feel that lol
it was so tiny and adorable lol
its gonna be at least tomorrow before these are all processed so have a camera screen lol
They are going to look incredible!!
That is an awesome shot! I can’t wait to see the finished product
❤️
@slender zenith what camera is that? also great shot
you took these at the zoo right, i want to go so badly
they are wild birds that choose to nest above an alligator pit at a zoo for whatever reason
thats weird lol
i sadly witnessed said gators eat 10-11 different baby birds that went to the ground trying to fly
holy crap...
You'd think the zoo would do something about that
the zoo didn’t tell hundreds if not thousands of wild birds to nest there either (all native so they know damn well what gators can do)
I guess that's one way to get free food and exhibits for your zoo
even then its a local thing. i learned it through locals up in a state park, they don’t advertise the birds
just discovered a d500 design flaw
the sd card popped loose in the card bay while i was shooting
gonna hope target has a cfexpress reader
if not, ill havw to hit best buy tomorrow
asset acquired
jk. it claims it can take cfexpress and it doesn’t
i would be pretty pissed
yeah im returning it. best buy it is lol
good luck man
gonna have to order online
the sun is your friend and your enemy
is it trying to attack the hawk?
Mockingbirds attack and annoy hawks and raptors all the time. It’s always funny to watch
Most of the time it’s a territorial issue
interesting
yeah it was just harrassment
the mockingbirds eventually gave up but there were 2 of them on it
Brave birb
That hawk could probably just go munch and no more birb
possibly lol
the thing is the hawk lacks the maneuverability to. the mocking birds can easily jump around and dodge strikes
^^
thank you very much, and also thanks to others who tried to help
iits a great photo
dont make fun of me but
sony hx400v
the bird in my pfp was also clicked by me.. its a verdict flycatcher
why would i make fun of you
idk.. cuz its kinda a beginner camera (not really but ye)
definitely a beginner camera, but still wont make fun of you
ok ty
my CFExpress reader comes today
than i can actually process photos
because stupid sd cards
hoping this shot comes out well
this was a fun day
discord insists i have unread messages in here :/
same
still waiting on the card reader
i forgot my lens was coming today
nikon 35mm prime
awesome
fight for sugar water (even though there's room for 8 hummingbirds), not sure how to edit this one really, thought it was interesting to share though
colours are just dead
territory disputes
it’s like two neighbors arguing over 2 inches of property for a fence line
its my hummingbird feeder but im not going out there and flying into them
birds can be pretty protective over food ive noticed
i got the lens
but it’s not like it takes better pics then my 55mm zoom
like i’m shooting flowers rn and it isn’t any better
i would presume that hummingbirds being constantly in high energy flight drains energy which requires more food, making it very valuable when something like a feeder is discovered
I'd try and erase that stuff in the background and what I'm assuming is your roof.
Too bad you didn't get the entirety of the feeder in. Maybe crop it in half?
what's the first bird? looks like a baby
it is, still working on an ID
the second one is a fledging tri colored heron
what region?
east coast of florida, possibly baby cattle egret but there were so many different waterfowl birds there it is hard to tell
this might be one of my all time favs
It’s a great egret fledgling
Aww that’s an awesome shot!
imagine editing at 12
me at 3:00 am
I went to a rookery today but was attacked by horse flies and had to leave before I could really get anything
horse flies came out after a big rain storm but they went out once the florida sun came back to do its justice which did not take long
Haha the Texas sun does the complete opposite. The bugs get even more active with the sun
mosquitoes do, the flies didnt take long to poof
it also just justice to my arms lol
Lucky. I’ve been avoiding shooting lately because of the crazy bugs
when im in florida and the mosquitoes are thick i coat everthing, even my clothes with bug repellant. works well
awesome! how are the shots last night coming along l?
❤️
Dude that’s soo cool
Thank you
Although is the grain on purpose?
