legend
Ik it’s not much this is my first ever one taken on iPhone 13 Pro Max
I had made a trip to California to visit some family after graduating from high school in 2021. And I was walking about 15 minutes away from where I had stayed, and I just had to take a picture of this view. This was the photo that really got me into photography.
First thing I posted to my "photography" Instagram, 55 weeks ago
Latest collection I posted, a few weeks ago
First real event photograph I posted to my main instagram, 120 weeks ago
But my first photographs weren't very well kept, I've been entrapping photons worth looking at for the better part of 8 years
One of my first photographs
A picture of my GF i learn photography from her and her cute fuji
i cant unsee darth vader
Laugh my fuxin arse off
My first creative photos I think was with a Canon powershotSX a little point and shoot in 2008
Kind of embarrassing looking at them now
my first photo
taken near the top of Mt. Agamenticus in maine
on a piece of shit LG Tracphone
i wasnt even into photography but hey thats not terrible i guess
Not a special photo but this is the first time I actually stay still to get a picture of something
Dont know what happened to my first but this would be amongst the first.
My first photos (photography wise) I took with my iPhone 13 (as I still use for photography). I was with a friend and we went a few places
i don't have digital images of the first pictures i ever took, so i'll stick with posting some of the first ones done on the D200 i started shooting seriously with
It could be worse
why is the grass so perfect
Because I cut that grass
Oldest phone photo I have saved and first photo I took with a DSLR
A few days into shooting seriously I think
Some of my first photos on my sony A6000
ur dogs are so cute omg
These photos and a few more made me start to get into photography. When I really started to get into photography was in school when I took a photography class. Shoutout teacher. And only a few days ago my aunt got me a new camera! Also shoutout aunt.
What were your first pictures like? The first ones you took and felt like photography was something worth getting into? Here are some of mine, from 2004 made on a Sony Point and Shoot. Share yours!
these are from the first time i ever remember using a camera, edited them in lightroom with zero knowledge and they're taken with my dads 5D2 and a 100mm mark L, so safe to say i was very privileged
I took this on my canon powershot SX530HS, on my first day of using it in its makeshift sort of manual mode and this is 1000% the shot that got me hooked on photography
my first memorable shot on my d3400 with my 70-300
Damn y’all started out with amazing camera as
I didn't xd
same
Lemme find my first pic one sec
Dis 1
First pic I can find on my camera roll. This was taken on my something something coolpix from 2005
first photo i considered "good" on a borrowed rebel xsi
A picture of a dog I took on a Olympus X-915
He happi
I took a photography class when I was 14 but I lost all those pictures, this set of pictures is from when I first revisited the hobby 3 years later with my brothers camera in NYC and ever since then I fell back in love with photography
This is from basically the first time I used a camera that wasn't my phone! Shot summer of 2018 on a Fuji X100S (I think). The rest of the photos from this trip were pretty damn bad this is the only okay one haha
So, my uncle gave me a camera, and I took lots of pictures with it but I don't have most of them, this is the first photo on a camera that wasn't my phone that I still have(camera used was a Nikon D7100, shot February 2022)
Shot on a Praktica LB with a 50mm f/2.8, on Superia 400 and developed at the local drugstore. First ever real artistic shots on a dedicated camera, back in 2014
Love Prakticas I've used a couple MTL5s when I was in photography school 🙂
haha
the first two were my first with a dslr, rest are even older, I still have my oldest photos which would be more accurate but I think they are all film, id need to go find them again
I got into wildlife stuff with my sx160
My first picture:)
From my first outing with my first DSLR 🙂
Agfa instamatic (126er 😂 )
MY first mpic
Image with my first camera, a very cheap camcorder I ended up with in 2012. I thought lens flares were cool
First photo with my moms iPhone 6S I don’t even know how long ago 💀💀
The exposure, my lawd
My second photo is way worse

We don’t talk about this 💀
But this was the first with my camera, still not great but better
My first picture with my camera is this bee
i still haven’t gotten the shot that has hooked me but i keep trying
it’s either because my max focal length is only 200mm and or because i’m still figuring out what mode to use
you’ll def get the shot. if you need help understanding modes lemme know
My first photo with my camera was the wall.
i say i haven’t had my shot yet but this could be it
images like this one are ones that make me want to go out and get the same framing but better. like with the bird looking right at you.
like it’s a good photo that has lots of potential to turn into an excellent photo if you know what you are after
that’s how it is
its crazy
i will have birds act like im not 250x their size than when i go get my camera they dont want me within a mile radius
correction, looked but wouldnt chirp. horrible editing i need to fix it but i dont feel like it rn
reduce the blacks or tweak the shadows i suppose
even contrast adjustment can makw a good impact on it
what post processing software are you using
dude i had a bird fly into the birdhouse and istg whenever i would point the camera at it, it would go back inside the house
lightroom classic
idk if classic has the masking tools that regular lightroom does
subject masking?
nah i use the normal modern LR
thats lightroom creative cloud
could be extremely helpful on that photo
ah
adobe is holding me hostage
so
next option is crash a plane into their headquarters
its a really good price for us highschool students tho
$20/m
good price imo
at my school i get it for free too
all of it
my school barely has working laptops
should get it for free with the ridiculous price you pay to get into the school
we have to buy our own macbooks for my school
this is my first year in private school though
im taking a year long photography class
i took a photography course
they have their own cameras which im assuming is bettter than my d3200, but i just wanted one of my own tbh
dropped out of it in two weeks
always good to have your own equipment
could be more tac sharp but other than that i avoid critiques on genres of photos i don’t really do, as im not well practiced in it
yeah
wonder what genre this is
tomorrow im going wildlife shooting, i thnk im going to try out shutter priority, is that a good idea?
maybe manual or aperture
cant decide
it would fall under product photography, than some sub genre for out of the studio product photography
id take it as time to experiment with the modes. learn how manual works (YT tutorials highly recommended) and how each mode works, how it works for the task at hand.
yeah i think im good with manual i used it all day for a couple days and watched many vids
i’ve heard by other wildlife photographers that shutter priority is the best
honestly i might go manual with auto iso. in wildlife capturing the subject not blurry is just as important as the background being blurred
i just don’t know if can capture moving subjects with my slow af anyways, so it might not matter
manual mode with auto iso max iso set to the highest iso on the camera so it adapts to the shutter speed you need for the shot
i shoot manual/w iso, just make sure you know how exposure comp works
Depending on the day I’ll shoot auto with iso, the targets I shoot approach at 50 mph so it’s hard to use manual
I’m practicing it though
sometimes if it’s clouds in and out I’ll use auto
this is the photo that got me into photography.
This is what convinced me to buy a camera
Vs my shot of it, at the same time 💀
