@wind iris me and my friend are coming to the wairarapa next week for landscape photos

you have a lot of choices

heres some really vague circles to give you ideas of good lanscape

there are multiple roads that are at the peak of high hills before dropping into the valleys to the east of the wairarapa

anything east of carterton but west of the river is flat land good for mountains in the background, farmlife, maybe tree isolation

gladstone has a big cliff and some side roads you can see out into far valleys, also the road to gladstone from carterton before it drops down into another valley has some excellent views

and pretty much anywhere south around lake wairarapa you may find many opportunities if you cbf

as for what i circled north of masterton, lots of hills, roads nestled between, some reserves

the majority of the stuff i've posted in this discord or on my instagram has come from locations in those circles

especially east wairarapa, the backroads there at the right light can be stunning

martinborough (1, 2, towards Tora has really expansive landscape), east masterton te whiti/tauweru (next 2), the 5th image being on the road heading out of masterton to gladstone, you can see the canyon i drove up to take the third photo on some farm property (trespassing), 6/7th is north of masterton in the top left circle.

there are only a couple that are eketahuna/further

it is an incredibly diverse landscape, it's just a matter of whether you can be bothered to drive more than you take photos, get out of the car and get that opportunity then get back in and go elsewhere lol

theres nowhere you can really setup like traditionally

and i'm sure you've seen this before but a deep sunset at ocean beach is just incredible to witness

this photo didnt turn out very good but you can still grasp the epicness

when you aren't grounded you are at risk regardless of being electrocuted if you climb in the wrong spot
