At the risk of sounding rude, pick a different scene.
Or, be like @gray flicker and try black and white.

Lollll

#

Come on there is something there w that flower stuck in the door

#

Idk it’s possible I like stuff that is ugly

I don't like the hose, it distracts from the bottle.

#

Also, try B&W.

For some reason I don’t like black and white I do try it but I still haven’t gone to a good editing setup

Reduce Saturation to 0, raise contrast.

That's what's so great about B&W

molten kiln

It makes messy crappy details not look like crap?

dull cradle
#

No, it forces you to focus on things beyond just color.

#

Color can distract from poor elements in a composition.

molten kiln
#

Wow I didn’t ever consider that

#

Interesting

One of my favorite things is using a color filter when I shoot because it removes all color from my viewfinder and I just see the world in tones of whatever color my filter is.

I like the way b+w looks on film photos but for some reason it never does it for me w modern cameras but I never thought of that aspect of it

#

Huh cool I didn’t even know that was a thing

The big thing I like, personally, about B&W is it lets you focus on just the patterns and textures of surfaces.

Ok I can see that it would simply things to some degree when it takes the color aspect of it out, then you’re left w less elements to be concerned about

#

So you have to work w different aspects of the scene

dull cradle
#

Yup

#

Heck, I know you shoot on your iPhone right? I bet it has a black and white mode that you can use to see what I'm talking about.

molten kiln
#

It does I think I can change the filter

dull cradle
#

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend using that seriously, but for playingg around it will give you an idea of what I'm talking about

molten kiln
#

I’m going to practice w b+w filter w the iPhone it’s nice you can still look at the color version

#

I think it’s a good idea to practice

#

I think I spend too much time reading and studying others work and not enough time practicing

#

I’m noticing that people are perfectionists about stupid crap and when I study the work of older photographers their photos are wonderful but they honestly don’t give a shit about a line in a photo not being perfect or something like that. Like Diane Arbus is an example of that her photos are a damn mess

I'm not super familiar with Diane Arbus' work, but I'd say that if you're not seeing the discipline in someone's work, then it might just because you don't recognize it yet.
