The actual tone map fuji dosent publish
L
We will never be able to know
unfortunate
Yeah
i should become a fuji color scientist and steal their tech
Fuji restricts every possible information on how their film sim works
how the fuck do you get that job 🔥
It's like KFC secret formula
1 in 10 people have more sensitivity to colour
Looking at this it feels like acros is like a 5% shortcut
If you that 1 in 9 you already don't stand a chance
The tones start being nice but still need the other 95% of post work for a good image
i have this trait
Tbh I like acros because sooc it's so good I've never felt the need to edit most of them
Even when I edit my end goal look is just sooc acros
i might start trying to make an acros recipe
Mono ends up being so messy without editing
because me likey that look
i've used similar a couple times
i think these are acrosey
unintentionally
idk i'm not very good
i just like the art of taking a photo, the action
lol
the framing and perfecting that angle first time
this was kinda messy but figured I’d share it
Helios 44-2 on apsc
aw shit i was just about to buy one of those lol
is it the silver one
No the 44-2 isn’t silver
there are a couple different versions of the lens
There is a silver 44-2 but it’s less common iirc. The famous silver one is just the 44 I believe
interesting scene
different lenses between pic1-2 and pic3-4?
I thought the same so I shot it. 🙂 Thanks
lol, good shot :) keep up the good work chevelu
Nope all Helios 44-2
I love love love love this
Preciate y’all! 🙌🏽
Goddamn crisp asl
not my best work, i need to clean some stuff up when i get home
Still hard, whats the lighting set up
rembrandt with softbox, kek. i was leading people in shooting portraits and someone told him to take his shirt off, so I took a couple of these.
Fire dude bet, so jus a one light set up?
I had a small fill light at 45° on the right because it was just too harsh and the bounce didn't give me the look I wanted for this one
Oh gotchu, im tryna get into portraits and jus lighting in general, ur shi seems professional keep it up fr 🤝🏽
Hey thanks a lot! I'm not very professional but I'm trying lol. I appreciate you
wow. stunning work
Thank you 🙏🏽
Hi! I'm new to this group (only lurking by now) and a beginner in photography, but I thought I share something, too 🙂
could I edit something on this photo?
great still life, good work kami
sure! here to learn
alright so you have a shot with great potential but 2 big issues holding it back
- you need to get as close to perfectly in the middle, and 2. you cut off the left side while leaving the right side, which leads to this feeling unbalanced. this shot has some cool potential for a really cool symmetry shot. try going back with a tripod or just yourself and try to frame everything perfectly with the edges.
take 100 photos if need be, just try and take a bunch to see what works, but note in your head what you're doing different with each shot
that make sense? ish?
Thank you for the feedback! Makes totally sense! I made more photos (un fortunately not 100, only 3, but anyway 😉 ) and i will check if there is the potential for symmetry. i will try to go back without non-photographic people (i didn't want to stress their patience too much) but next time i know what to look for!
ok that sounds like lame excuses. thanks for the feedback, i try next time!" 😄
fair fair
and i will check at home if the other shots are any better
:)
just make sure everything is balanced
if theres white space on the right there had to be an equal amount on the left
same goes for top and bottom
actually i am also just stupid. i thought of cropping it to be more symmetrical but it didn't work on the left and then I kept it. It just didn't occure to me to crop it on the right, too
i think it would look good to leave some white on the left and right
that way it "frames" the windows
maybe the same amount on the left as you had in the original image
then rotate it so its straight and lets see
Your version is the most symmetric version we can get from the building. In the left there is no concrete, just more windows. I might like it more without the concrete on top and bottom, to level out the missing space on the side, therefore I tried this crop
(Can’t get it straighter than this)
nice :)
I have another one
Nice clean shot
thanks!
love this, clean and great shot
great shot, very punchy
love all of these but the last just makes me feel something
i love your style, it's not real film is it?
Thank you! N nah but I would love to shoot film one day
gotcha, its emulated fairly well here. I will say, the grain is extremely harsh
its usually a bit softer and more rounded, because small crystals
also it dissapears in the blacks
Gotchu, i mainly use the grain from photoshop now but i think when I used darktable it actually looked it better
From the archive
how ya getting the light to be like that
Wym?
the foggy highlights
Oh I jus make sure to pick photos that alr have the lighting i want
But with the duck one i had to fix sum sun reflecting off the water
I either go for cloudy pics or jus ones where the sun isn’t harsh
is it really just that foggy where you live
Nahh lmao this is jus a project im doin to practice Ps i can send a raw if u want
darktable is good, dehancer is the best
can you send me the raw of the sheep? i'm curious
cool shot
Thank you!
what did you do in post to it?
Honestly, not that much other than adjusting the exposure and a few colour casts
goddam
so its done in post
very nicely done
Yessir
Thank you 👍🏽
Yeah fs igy when i can
awesome
Check this guy out
Similar to what u been posting
followed thats dope
Holy his work is insane
Ima be lookin thru his work preciate that, good to learn from 🤝🏽
wew
oh wow
I kind of want to try some post work like that now
😅
Its mad fun
Tedious but worth it, 99% is spent masking
Are you in PS doing that stuff, or
Most of the time, start in a basic editor, move to Ps, back to editor, then finish with prequel (has sum overlays i like for film look)
I’ll definitely have to give it a try, then!
Bett look forward to seein what u do
I have to say, this channel here is really inspiring!
Love seeing the work from you all
@regal wave congrats on the feature
Preciate it 🤝🏽
cutie
I been learning carbon transfer. Specially on glass. Pigment is Sumi. Off the I15 in California.
another good shot as usual kat
mystifying
@regal wave you have to drop a preset/guide
amazing shots mate
Thank you! Been thinking about doin that soon
Love ts
thank you!
@steep lance just saw this scene and snapped it because I thought of your work. not my best but I want to expand on this style, I will tomorrow when I go downtown.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
this isn't my best work and not the best I can do, im excited to improve in the coming months tho
My #1st Post - Grandmother 🥹
The bridge
great shot!
dispatch from Kitty Hawk
beautiful work
thank you! it almost makes doing so much driving lately worth it :p
i'm shooting ghost towns tomorrow :0 very excited
Waiting for your great posts @sharp gulch ! Good luck.
It hath been a while. Shot with xpro 1 and a pentacon 50/2
Playing w the Jupiter 9 yesterday
Phone camera sucks but the idea was cool
my only b&w of the lot
not my fav at all
that 4th is so pleasing
stunning shot
It hit just right as a car drove past and lit up the chairs
thats perfection, I was wondering what that was
thought the evening sun
Yeah I’m well happy with it. Surprisingly little noise for low light with m43
great work
But I sold my G9. Shooting fooj now.
hell yea what camera
Xpro 1
Her name is Maggie
And if you’re curious the strap is a vintage praktica strap
Loving Fuji tbh. My plan was to upgrade to a G9 II when it came out. But it was a total disappointment with no top screen.
The xh1 looks super cool. But I personally prefer rangefinder style cams. My dream cam is the M11 monochrome. But I just can’t justify the price.
same w that
my dream is that or the any GFX
If I end up doing the professionally
maybe a XV100
You bet I’m dropping 10k on a Leica
lol thats real
Lmao
Ghost town = great photos aways! Love it mate! .... bring some more!!!!!
More
#2 is exquisite
Ayyyy thanks 8m really happy with it
Went for a quick walk by the coast
love shot 1
I've been doing some more B&W work recently
love these
Love it!
https://www.dyptrephotography.ca/The-Archive/Year/2023/i-xMRsNWm/A
A recent B+W I created
Thanks!
The one of the person walking and that cloudy smoke thing a great btw
oooooh! This is loveyl too
Yeah, the smoke one is my personal recent favorite
Dang this is cool. Is it with a halation filter? Its so dreamy looking
love this shot, can we see it in colour?
And thanks!
i like it, lotta negative space tho.
I was indifferent about B&w or color, I liked both . I also tried to crop more but that felt tight with the shadows
Finally developing some Ilford hp5 I took back in September
I did a trip to Brussels over new years eve and got some b&w shots. (if anybody feels like giving his opinion I wouldn't be mad ;))

My favorite is the second one!
Thanks!
Thats some classy looking cars there!
fucking mint
from Iceland, last year. Mamiya 7 + 65mm f4. Fuji Acros 100
stunning
I’m thinking I prefer this rotated version to the one I posted here actually #🏭・human-made message
Both or dope but the first is much more abstract, I can tell what this is. Both are so cool kat, your work is amazing. How is the studio work coming?
Still waiting on the gear to be delivered! I should have some test shots late Wednesday
That's so dope!!! So excited to see what you create
I'm back in the studio tomorrow shooting some kodak gold 120 and some fomapan so I can get some nice monochrome images hopefully
Ooh, I’m excited to see!
thanks!
great shot, beautiful tones
Thanks finn. I actually really lucked out. I left my orange filter on because I thought it was a roll of TriX... But the b+w conversion worked great
very lucky! i'm shooting my first roll of 120 this week
Oh fun! What film emulsion?
Fomapan first then some gold 200
Maybe the gold first actually, I'm doing studio stuff
portraits
I'll ping you when i post em
Please! What camera you using? A Mamiya 645?
Yashmat 124 G
Oh that'll be fun! I used to have a rolleicord. It was awesome
That's awesome, I believe they're similar?
Ya same era and similar specs. Both TLR style cameras
Haha ya 😅 that's the best thing about MF and LF. Everything just has a depth that 35mm doesn't grab
Shot on the Pentax K3 Monochrome.
yeah the camera is a total dud.
Isn’t it an SLR
why do you say so
i mean i agree i just wonder what your justification is
sorry, sarcasm just doesn't come across in online communication.
The K3 monochrome is sharper than any bayer camera could hope to be.
i think the lens is the limitation in most of these cases
In which case diffraction is the biggest limitation.
Sarcasm is hard to sniff out when 95% of online interactions are both stupid and entirely serious
But yeah the K3 is fun stuff
yeah. that's i think why the other image is kind of unsharp.
There was also a lot of tree movement in the background, it was a windy day in that small valley, foreground is as sharp as its going to get for f/11.
gotcha
As I said, diffraction.
yeah, i wasn't saying your camera is shitty. i was just saying that it isn't sharp. I assumed it was because of diffraction because thats a pretty baller camera. i was just commenting on the image. If you post an image online, you're welcoming critique.
I have also been using the K3 Mono with the new DFA21mm f/2.4 - I can't quite recall the last time I had so much fun with a lens in this focal length class.
that thing is sexy
I just wish Pentax would make a K1 Monochrome.
You can get monochrome conversions done, but the process leaves traces. It's better if the sensor was built from the ground up without a CFA to begin with.
Leica wasn't originally sure a monochrome digital RF camera was a good idea considering the market trends, they made it and it has been one of their best sellers in decades.
i'm really interested in the M11 monochrome
I'd love a monochrome body. but then again i think most everyone in this thread would
Monochrome digital has its drawbacks, highlight detail retention can problematic as if you overexpose by a fraction too much all that detail is obliterated.
I did some early experiments with Lightning photography with the K3 Monochrome, and lighting is just too unpredictable.
how is the high iso performance?
it says it goes up to a million but where is it bearable up to?
loading fomapan 200 right now 😁
gonna shoot some studio portraits tomorrow
I consider the K3 monochrom to be usable all the way up to ISO 128000 after that, the compromises become a little too obvious. But ISO 12800 looks like a typographical error to my eyes.
was the first one a collection of images or one image where there was just squares of different things?
Mounted display of slides
ah
Kodak XX @ 800 ISO
Going through old files last night and refound this one. Loved it in B+W
Kentmere Pan 400, probably one of the better portraits I’ve ever shot 😌
saw this interesting texture and snapped a shot with my phone
processed on my phone
wtf am i even posting 💀 ive been so unmotivated recently
i've been in a little photographic rut
I like structure!
I saw some structure today, too
we love structure
Excited to see what comes back!
this reminds me of a picture I took some time ago with a Pentacon Six (analog)
nice!
Thats sexy
i found a building grille/vent at my uni like that too
nice
thanks! 🙂
Oh, these rock @sharp gulch
my first to rock in a while lol
been outta my groove
thx cat
Of course! I know the feeling lol
this is dope
Thanks Finn.. I think it workd out well enough to convert them! - the goof was that I thought I was shooting B+W film so I put an orange filter infront of the lens ruining the colours.
ohhh that sucks lol, came out really smooth tho
Ya it worked out in the end 😆
so you develop at home?
No. I lab develop, but, I do self scan at home with my XT5
how is that set up? always been curious abt dslr scanning
I'll take a photo and share it here after work today
awesome, ty
so soft, beautiful image
Thanks!

lotta architectural on here in b&w polaroid
Oooh, this rules
When you love monochrome so much. You make your emulsion.
hell yeah
Um what part is our of focus?
The dog, it’s slightly in focus on the neck fur but the face is just blurry
Look closer. You can see individual whiskers on her chin and around her eyes.
Yes, but it still is not in focus
Here is an example, not as extreme, but just to illustrate a point. The first image is perfectly sharp, the 2nd one is not in focus, therefore not sharp. Try to focus between the eyes or on the snout/nose and make sure it focuses.
You might also want to raise your aperture so that you can see more of the dog in focus.
I definitely need to raise my aperture as well.
You could also focus on the eyes
@mild bone
ced is most emo
Oppenheimer
Today i set my camera to monochrome for shooting. Let's see if there is anything nice coming out
i'm about to acquire my last chemical I need to dev bw film at home, it'll be here thursday
then i'll get to developing immedately
cool!
From my photo walk yesterday. If you want to give your opinion, I would be happy 😉
Forbidden Custard
Yeah. Smells like listerine
developed my first rolls... do i win worst home scanning setup?
you win
YAY
wtf no distance from light source to film
i swear to god my phone autocorrected yay to gay
lmfao
Shiiit hoe I got no other way to do this shit
I'll get a better setup soon
all the parts of the light source that isnt the film
cover it
you're introducing glare and other shit
I'm gonna cannibalize an enlarger and make it into a scanner
you want as minimal of other light sources in presence other than only the portion required to shine through the neg
Get some AR glass and a great strong bulb and diffuse it a couple times
for my first self dev and scan on that horrendous setup it came out ok
the roll was fucked too
making me second think about how to build my scanning rig
what are you planning on doing
i currently use a macro bellows setup
I'll attatch a tripod head and my camera where the enlarger is
but its really janky with a lot of leaks
i use my pc monitor as a light source, works really well lmao
lmao
since i know its calibrated its as pure of a light source as i can get
I'll be doing a strong small color accurate LED panel and I'll use a couple bits of muslin and plastic and other good diffusers to diffuse the light
And it should be easy
my current issue is just the film feed isnt sealed properly and the corners arent properly clean
My monitor is also color accurate
i also need a better prime
This is so cool!
interesting style
From a walk through London
Scovill 5x8 Dry plate macro with MO1880 home made emulsion. Hand coated.
Rainy day macro for texture
beautiful
wowzers
Love the texture
Ooh those have excellent lighting
Good job
Don't be afraid to edit further in Photoshop too
cleant the glass and diffused it hard
Really nice shots
i need to up the contrast its just really hard doing edits with everything inverted
very confusing lmao
those turned out good!
thank u ❤️
Yeah you invert then edit lol
Ah right
You can invert, do basic edits, then export to Photoshop and do anything harder
Lmao I wonder what that would even do to it
it removes the pretty grain structure
i just got done bullying my unwilling portrait subject a bit
beautiful, simple lighting but i love the way it falls on his left eye
Yeah! I thought it was nice and subtle
It's almost rembrandt
should i crop and border or leave the frame?
I like hard Rembrandt lighting
I crop them coz I treat film the same as digital, just results
But if you want that like instagram film look keep it for sure
it's hard to pull it off but she did
Yeah
na i dont post my werk anymore
i deletde my socials
Try cropping it and see what you prefer then
Thank you.
Thank you. I want find something different then the orchid.
I’m trying get my wife to sit in front of the 4000w strobe to take her portrait on dry plate
4000w?
good christ
the power of the sun
I had to pop it 5 times to do the seashell on macro. About 2 stops of light. But I was at f11. I would do the portrait at f4.5. Just one pop.
thats amazing
It’s an old lighting technique for architects when they did film but needed to raise the exposure If you need to double the exposure. 1 stop is 2 pops. 2 stops is 4. 3 stops is 8. 4 stops is 16 and so on.
Yep I remember reading about that
or something similar
Yeah. It works great. But I don’t think it was intended for 4000w. It takes about a 2 seconds to recycle.
I'll have to try that actually
Yeah. A non moving subject. Its prefect.
pretty. the virtual frame threw me for a loop for a sec lol
Yeah tbh if it was plain i’d like it better, jus threw it on bc its a good thickness
Yep
looks like 750px
Finally coated some plates that look pretty.
Next week I’ll get some food coloring and will try to make the emulsion a little more green sensitive
Depending on what I can find. I might be able get it a tiny bit red sensitive.
I’m going to stay in the world of monochrome. I traded in my 4x5 camera for a 8x10 view camera just to do plate photography. I’m going make emulsion and do collodion for the next 3-5 years.
I been studying Josef Sudek lately and how he strived through war and using one arm to create some amazing pictures.
that's gorgeous
Thank you. I been studying Josef Sudek stuff. Very motivating person.
Ya boi is back
I figured out how to scan my ambrotypes in.
this is super cool, i didn't even know ambrotypes were still possible.
Yeah. It is. I tried my Polaroid land 100. I just need to get it in focus. But it will work
Should’ve gotten an oversholder shot from a gravestone looking onto the graves that could’ve been amazing
3rd and 4th one are alr
Idk about the first 2
Learn about ambrotype. The more I can become creative with it.
Airplane glass sucks to shoot through, but it doesn’t distort enough to cause issues with the 85
So, no complaints
Taking monochrome back to the 1800s with asphaltum varnish.
how does that work?
very nice looking
I had to roll on the emulsion after the emulsion dried
that is gorgeous
Its looks better in person
i wish lol
Ambrotype is easy and hard at the same time. I think learning dry plate helped a lot of doing Ambrotype. I’ll probably never go back to film and just flow collodion or make silver gelatin. I find it more rewarding and more connected with creating.
that's super awesome
i'm still shooting digital but less
Thank you.
Yeah. Digital is great. But it isn’t for me. Vision wise.
instant gratification takes some of the learning away
I use to spend 4-8 hours retouching portraits when I was doing digital. I got burnt out. It would take me almost 14 days to give clients photos. The I had clients about to go into fitness comps and need photos in a few days. I would be up for 2-3 days so they could have them ready for comp day
god damn
i'm just doing it for art
not trying to make it a business
i realize it might ruin my passion
I was doing client work. Then a few years ago I stopped. Even today clients still hit me up to shoot and I tell them I stop and on a photographic journey.
At least I have plenty of people if I did want to create with in ambrotype. I just don’t want to create with them.
i wanna shoot ambrotype on a river
maybe portraits
that sounds nice
on a good fall day
i'm going to fredricksburg this fall to shoot some bw
Nice
Love it👍
great shot praetor
Thanks!
Daamn very nice
Thank you!
From my front yard
sparkly
huge fan of silhouettes, thats sweet
thank you ❤️
High key silhouettes 🔛🔝
i mean, the light source was the sun, so it was quite high infact 😄 thanks for the keyword, i remember i read about this once and forgot about it again. I think i will dig a bit deeper into that and maybe try to experiment with it
I really like those styles of silhouettes
This picture is so nice
not full black n white but very desaturated
Any tips on how to get greater depth in BW photos? My pictures alyways feel a tad bit ''flat'' if it makes sense
i love this picture but i dont know what its lacking
I have to say. Since I went full monochrome. Making plates and all. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to color. Wet plate and dry plate has to make you look at color in a different way. I got the hang of just looking at the world in a blue and uv light way. I don’t think I can do panchromatic film anymore since I have to meter everything with my eyes.
This style is improving. All of these shots are amazing
hey i was using that c33 yesterday! great camera
Yeah. I love it too. Mine just sits right now tho. I might mod it for wet plate since I did a Polaroid land 100 for wet plate
my buddy has a land 100 and was wondering how he could shoot it in this day and age. do you have a guide online for that?
much appreciated
It 2 inches by 3 inches that fits inside the holder.
i might try this as well, i have a land camera lying around
I need to cut some glass down.
Preciate it
Thank you 🙌🏽
Nice
Thanks! I took my bike on Amtrak and went out to Pennsylvania Dutch Country, and I biked and stood in the cold for a while to take some photos. I even got snow and the one weekend each year when the Strasburg Rail Road runs an open-air car during the cold months.
I seemed to have a fogging issue or something for a lot of shots, unfortunately. I knew it didn't look right through the viewfinder.
I really like it. I’m into pictorialism and this has the perfect dreamy chararistics
Monochrome forever life
I like this one
ayyy nice
Thank you.
https://www.wetplateday.org/galleries/ this is 1851-1879 style of monochrome.
i love shot 6, 7, and 9
Ohhh. Nice
I developed these last night!
what stock? very thick grain
in rodinal?!
Id11
Awesome
12 minutes of agitation lmao
Thats why its so sharp lmfao
I feel that grain is determined by agitation
correct vs over agitation
how long was the development total
Oh sorry i meant 12 minutes total and agitation every minute
I did 4 agitations every minute
Oh lol
Like 4 turns
Slow or fast
fair
my very first attempt at B&W pictorialism
Dope. The main reason I chose my lens. Is to do pictorialism.
Reminds me of @regal wave
Pretty dope
I think u could do with having the person stand out a bit more from the darkness but otherwise its real nice
Silver on glass
great one!
Thank you
it was actually heavily inspired by him haha
the GOAT
which one you got?
i could give it a shot
Rodenstock Portrait Anastigmat Eurygon. It’s a soft focus wide open with a sharp center then stop down it’s like a normal triplet.
woah that's awesome
i started my photography journey with a film camera
but it's way too expensive
especially for a student like myself
Nice. I stopped doing film and digitals. Maybe in the far future I’ll back but right now and in the future it will only be glass plates.
settled on a digital Sony a6000 with a 50mm f/1.8
and i just recently upgraded to Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8, which is also what i used to take that photo
Maybe 1861 with tinplates.
how much does one shot cost you?
my knowledge in that field is very limited
Nice. The 17-70 is a good lens.
I don’t know maybe $2.15
for sure
the 50mm was 75mm eq
so it was quite limiting
but i took my favourite shots with it so
the 17-70mm is just amazing
i have much more control over my compositions
it's especially great for portraits
oh neat
Yeah. I buy my chemicals and make my own. Collodion and stuff so it helps cut cost. Walmart sells glass for cheap.
i moved few sliders around and made him a bit larger through photoshop
not quite sure about it though
Not too big a deal
Sorry for the delayed reply. Wanted to thank you again for the feedback and am glad you liked the photos.
It's interesting how a lot of people said the same thing to me that you did.
I guess life can be funny like that. I had a general idea in my head of what I wanted, I braced the cold weather on my bike and patiently awaited trains, I had an unexpected issue, I thought the photos didn't look great, but yet people enjoyed them.
It was also very challenging to only have one shot at most of these photos. I wasn't going to stand out there and wait for another hour each time for another train. I would certainly wait during this time of year, but February is tough.
Yeah. I go out and try to get trains from time to time. I know the feeling
reminds me of a totem
I could see it
wdym>
just zoom in it looks posterized
idk, looks normal to me
thats why i dont zoom in on stuff
perhaps its because hes a black and white dog? its not like theres much of a tonal gradient anywhere on his fur.
the difference in the blacks on him are due to the direction the fur is growing in respect to the angle youre viewing him from
Kinda looks like an extreme example of film grain reticulation 🤔
Thats exactly what it looks like
Very normal reticulation
h/o gonna have to google that
oh, yeah i guess it does look like that a bit. this might have been the roll that i went space cadet on while developing, the fact that its a fairly big crop probably doesnt help.
but idk, stuff like that just doesnt bother me unless it happens to just not work with the vibe of that particular photo.
this is from the same roll
this weird pattern all over the image
Oh thats film? Then its just weird tgrain. It doesn't bother me just looks wormy and different
it could have been bc of a large temperature variation
maybe the rinse was too cold, who knows. It was pretty early on in my film developing. I am familiar with reticulation, now that i googled it, I just didnt know what it was called.
Looks like developer got hot
very nice ambient
Thanks Rod.
I dont mind it, it kinda adds more character to the image. I've seen Reticulation destroy the feeling of images, but here it looks cool
however it is an artefact of sudden temp changes in development, Black and White Film is super forgiving for this, but its always a good idea to keep your steps at a consistent temp
reticulation

myb
kitte´
gorgeous shot
Blinded by own thoughts.
i guess ideally the bike could be a little less blurry, but i think its fine imo
this is dope
thank you!
When I seen the details.
Thank you!
Tried something, not sure how it turned out
Amazing shot
In love with the second slide
Thank you!
i wish i had cleaned the camera before taking it. I didnt bother because i was just messing around and assumed it would be a throwaway anyways. Then i ended up really liking it
“Gradient” type things (redid the second one)
really cool
sans soleil
Top left corner is a banger
Major truffle vibes
do yall think i did a good enough job fixing the light leak on this photo
that's gorgeous
yeah it's not that bad
oof 😭
havent shot any digital in ages
Nice
Beautiful @kind charm if I could photograph good stuff instead of my house and backyard maybe I will get better and get shots like this
@steep lance polaroid new monochrome emulsion dropped and its fantastic
i'm gonna pick some up here next paycheck
jus check their website its called monochrome frames its beautiful
ooh, very contrasty
I still need to try the instax black and white
she tough
Look, it took me enough effort just to lure her under the umbrella
This is a cat we’re talking about, no part of this endeavor involved cooperation
I actually have photos with both ears but the hard cunt face just worked too well with b&w
good cat 10/10
lol real
first one too messy for bw but i like #2 a lot
Yeah but trumpet guy best guy
Love the tones in this one
I think you can get away with deepening the blacks a bit more on this one and pushing the contrast for a bigger rage of tones
appreciate it 😄
Still not sure about this one
These are awesome.
oh my Lord these pics are way too good
I like the second one better for sure, the blacks stand out more, makes it look nicer
Thank youuu
Ty 🫶
was going through my files deleting and cleaning up shit and found this image i think i saved to crop to make my point in gloves off or smth
@regal wave
and remembered damn ts is nice
ayee preciate it gang
thats sexy
haha thanks
I felt like there is too much noise, mainly because of the tree and wasn't sure if the ball was visible enough
I had to doctor both of these because of a light leak, but cute nonetheless
took same shots on a roll of GP3
we'll see how they go in a month or so
couple more rejects
Made a new color profile and been playing with it lately, my fav shot from the last week
I decided to shoot on smallest and lowest quality for some reason, i am liking the vibe so far
it made it so easy to transfer stuff
Y tho
the artist's mind is hard to comprehend
idk
at all
I like the last one a lot
Lowest resolution adds something to it for me
I like the more visible noise and grain
i like the lines being softer and a tiny bit mushy instead of sharp
these are mere 5mb pictures as opposed to the usual 32 from raw idk how much that actually visibly matters but i like it
got these too
kinda vibey but also removes a lotta important quality to the image
I tried swipe typing artistic
Excited to try out some Delta 3200 (that may or may not be totally cooked from airport security) but in the meantime XP2 is a real vibe
Still applies
Been ages since i've shot digital
dude is that a dead seagull in the picture???
Nah bluds napping
The world is one step closer to peace and quiet
that's dope
He's just chilling
Decided to shoot my dad’s guitar and it turned out alright in B&W
Idk if this matters if they’re just posting to like insta.
Cant wait to try out the new Polaroid B&W chemistry, should get here tomorrow or on tuesday
ooh nice i wanna try this stuff too
I have a pack of the old chemistry too, so i can do a comparison
going to try and set up like a control chot I think?
or possibly just shoot a similar scene in similar light
no but I could probably find some
I have orange and red and yellow filters too
it you could get some rainbow markers and try to put overexposure and underexposure in the same scene that will help a lot knowing hoe the film renders
only having 8 shots in a pack makes me a little scared to pull the trigger each time, need to get more time using the system and just get comfortable with what it can and cant do
wish I could tell what shutter speed it was selecting on the camera somehow
yea thats why i always shoot one control shot with all the colors and some over and under exposure so i can know how it renders things and how i should treat exposure
could you send an example of what you mean by this? i get the control shot with all the colors but the over/under in the same shot is confusing me
Yea
you mean like just having a dark and a bright part of the image?
I would expose for the text on this image. I'd then have overexposure on the left by the bulb and under behind out the window. It tells you a lot about how to expose the film
though idk how one would spot meter on a polaroid
Probably by sliding the overexposure lever up
Im pretty sure that it is center weighted, but I could probably check on the app
which polaroid
for reference im actually using a modern Now+ 2nd gen
oh okay
I know the older ones are more common
thats a nice one
yeah I've been happy with it so far
also, acoording to In An Instant the new Black and White chemistry should be the new standard for all the B&W film from Polaroid by christmas/new years this year
so far its exclusive to the "Monochrome frames" edition of 600 film
I messaged him and Polaroid directly on insta, only he replied
Oh yay
yea that's what I've heard
thats awesome
great info thank you
baller to reach out
https://www.reddit.com/r/Polaroid/comments/150qecr/testing_polaroid_now_gen_2_meter_seems_to_always/
hmm so meter at 640 and use manual
you could use a smartphone metering app
the Now+ has a companion app that connects to the camera directly, you can see the onboard exposure meter through the manual settings
you can set everything from aperture to shutterspeed to whether the film ejects or not
Does it work well
interesting
fairly, it can get hung up sometimes but otherwise its worked well for the two packs ive run through it so far
cool beans :) cant wait to test out the new formula
Black and White Monochrome polaroid film has arrived!
going to shoot some tomorrow, or do I shoot the old formula first?
ooh have fun wit it
trying to induce some bloomy highlights in Lr
it's easier to use a vintage lens for this, but i didn't have my 50 handy
nice shot
great shot
thank you!
My recent post on insta 😄
This looks epic, especially the animal (I assume it's a cat)
Fomapan 400 pushed to 3200
2&3 are tight
the council
Hehe 😄
Cats and across
me too
Nice shot
I need to go to an air show
yeas
I appreciate airshow shots without plain backgrounds a lot more
