oh yeah you have your Instagram in your profile
Yeah donāt ever feel the need to promote myself. If someone likes my work they can find me easy enough lol.
Lol
The posse
nice grouping
Thanks haha
It was actually my first time shooting lol
I had the chance to shoot some lovely Czech guns so
Vz.58, CZ Bren 2 and CZ Scorpion Evo 3 A1
Very nice.i miss shooting. Though i occasionally do archery
'The Age of Bronze,' Auguste Rodin
Cool negative space
Thank you!
How'd you find my house...
Your house is an entrance to a void āļøš had to
Really dig this scene though, only thing I wish was different is those dumb branches in the top left were nice enough to vanish while the photo was being taken.
Thank you. I think that would be nice. Unfortunately I was under another one of these across the street. If I could run in the street fast enough I could have probably taken it without the branches. I was sort of going for trying to keep the top of the trees around the middle of the horizon. Wouldnāt work out that way. Also, not experienced enough to edit the branches out š
You and me both
I can't photoshop to save my life.
Iām just getting started with Lightroom
Weāll get there soon. All part of the process.
with my Nikon Coolpix 5900
Finally out on the streets again.
I really like this. Iām normally into very simple things, but I feel like the sheer amount of āthingsā in frame adds a lot to the environment.
thank you!
Mhm, no worries.
Also, what kind of camera is the coolpix?
it's a 5 Megapixel digicam from 2005
I got it as a gift
Working well.
Thatās fun! It looks great. I have a lumix digicam with a Leica lens. Itās so much fun shooting street stuff. Very discreet as well.
Good job on those
You should post them in #šć»people if you havenāt already
that's true and it's small so easy to hide
I'd like to see your photos with it!
Indeed. I donāt have any with me at the moment, unfortunately. I can send you some once Iām home tomorrow. If youād like you can add me as a friend
I don't generally like bird photography but this is a fantastic photo of some seagulls.
I hadnāt seen them til I checked the image in my editor, decided to leave them in
Honestly a really nice scene, the birds add to it, but overall love it.
Thanks! Iāve messed around with angles from that spot for a while, but hadnāt been happy with the sky until today
An experiment with multiple exposures (from the archive)
Beautiful usage of Negative space! This looks like a very nice minimalism shot too
How did you get the super white background though
i just overexposed the shit out of it
the water reflected the sun directly so very bright already
where is this taken??
Sick
woohoo just did streetshooting downtown last week
I was there last sunday
I only stayed for a day, I'd like to go back another day by myself
very cool, i have bunch more i shot. decided to do it all on my x100T using ZONE FOCUS
thanks
x100T looks fun, I got so many good pictures there, glad I went
you live in IL it just passing through
I've only got one camera, I want to sell it and get an older camera
Nah I'm from michigan
So pretty close
ok not that far away
it is
I had to go with family so I was just taking pictures while we were walking but I'll go by myself some day
the bus s a little dark but some dodging in lightroom can fix that easy
Yeah I plan on going back to edit a bit
otherwise is decent composotion
I like to think I had a decent idea at the very least
I'm also still trying to get used to doing b&w
it is a little different if you only work in color but youll get the hang of it
nice
lighting a bit better here, seeing the details in the bus makes these kin of shots for me personally, gives it a sense of location.
Yeah
funny thing about street shooting is that there is no such thing as a straightline
especially in Chicago LOL
Yeah, I've never really done shooting in a city like that
The city I live in is pretty small and boring
mine is pretty quiet too, im 30min from the loop myself
Small compared to Chicago at least
indeed, i have done street shooting in my town, depending on the day interesting shots are to be had
took my TLR to a day of the dead festival once
x100t was surprisingly responsive without using auto focus, and shooting straight to jpeg.
this was f/8 1/30th of a sec
ISO 6400
this could be eligible for the contest... just sayin' y'know
I like those! looks like a fun day for sure! :b
I didnāt even know there was a contest again yet. Forgot to look, thanks for the reminder!
You're welcome:D
thanks, can't recall but a lot of delta 3200
I'm pretty sure they're all 3200
yeap, it's technically like a 1200/1600
That's still insane for daylight
no ND either
Why delta 3200 doe
3200 night looks meh.. unless I'm shooting in a well lit location but I'd rather use tungsten film for night shots
yeah, pushed bnw is nice for night when there's a lot of textures/patterns
gotta get extra creative!
Here's a night shot but it was pretty lit
motorcycle tings on B&W
This has to be Malaysia, right?
where in Malaysia, if I may ask?
Penang, Rifle Range
if you see my pfp, that's in Malaysia too! I've got an eye for your country
I visited Penang around 5 years ago, spend a week there. Lovely place, loved the food culture
sheeeeeeeeeeesh
Georgetown is pretty cute too
I spend a lot of time in Sarawak, your photo looks like your typical kampung style warung you find everywhere š great shot

it be an apartment complex
i grew up in the complex for the first 9 years of my life
ah my bad, the sign in the background looked like a menu for drinks
Saya mau pesan satu kopi o ais, tanpa gula
koson
lmao
other images from the set
nice work
is posting sets encourage here? I don't really hang out here that much
I also have a lot of work from all over the world in b&w, a lot of work from Borneo too
hanging out with the Dayak
zamn
sets or not up to you
I do like the concept of 5-6 photo per set, more fun than single individual images
ok will share some, especially those of me riding my buaya down the sungai
HATI HATI ADA BUAYA
tmr gonna go on another shoot
first day at work, the media comp is bringing me along for a shoot in penang
I'm well jealous, Penang is an awesome place to go shoot
just noticed the time, isn't it time for tidur? kau tidak lelah?

need to wake up in 3 hrs
i slept from 5pm to 11 pm today because driving test
may i yonk some b&w too?
4x digital zoom handheld on an old & broken motorola g3 (2015 phone with pretty much zero manual control) during my first days of learning photography on a phone
wasn't able to recover anything from the sky, but for all i remember, the sky might have been completely whiteout that day, as it is today
i still like the shot even tho it might be meh (they say art is subjective, so lie to me that it's not that crap)
since the shot, reconstruction work on the broken bridge is being done and the seagulls never came back, which is why they temporarily occupied it in the first place, no one cares
Mostar š§š¦

that time of year again
From the archive
Nice š
Thanks. Took this couple years back. Look better in mono.
that's the kind of situation where I'd have a panic shot with focus on the front grass
Lol yeah lol
El Vocho! Nice picture
This is an issue I ran into backdroping white onto white birds, it's hard to see the the outline of the bird
True, I donāt feel it is always something that deserves the image though. As you react to it, I must admit I got inspired by your owl for the editing style.
i tried it too
I'm still working on the owl ones and haven't fully refined them yet. The contrast is still lacking on them and it's something hard to fix. Creating exposure masks around areas that need contrast have been working for me
That's prty cool, I'd widen the backdrop personally because it feels a tad tight right now
i'll chuck it back into ps and do it later, might turn out nicer
the original was a detail shot so not much room without autofill
Does my photo here emphasized Loneliness/emptiness?
not really imo, would need to be wider
that line of something in the horizon draws a fuckton of attention btw
So wider focal length and draws the focus more to the main subject i see
im a sort of beginner the second one isnt my best but the arches seemed pretty cool
i think they're pretty strong images (i'm no one to judge really) and very impressive if you managed to pull off that stair shot without cropping
Both are incredible uses of black and white, can't say anything else honestly
i agree with the previous statements but also don't be afraid of contrast
I did crop the stairs a bit as it wasn't a perfect shot out the the camera (loads of tourists not letting me centre lmao), at first I tried high contrast and I felt like it was too punchy but maybe I'll try it again because it really highlighted the two bars at the bottom.
Thanks for the feedback
doesnt need to be high contrast, but you can use the dynamic range better by just pushing the mids a bit higher and letting there actually be some highlights
From the archive
Ther is something in the foreground
yes, a leaf which i purposely left, but maybe shouldn't have
it's not a great photo, i'm still a white belt, thank you for pointing that out though
Bro who is this guy he is in like all ur photos
I have like 2 friends
Ah so u only post portraits
I have other photos, I just mostly post people
Yeah ic
I like yellow flowers because they lend themselves to B&W treatment. However, the background usually trumps me. Any comments welcome.
I've already done a lot of dodging and burning using layers, trying not to blow the whites and keeping the details of the lines.
What colour filter would you use @wild sapphire ? I assume you mean a colour filter on the lens?
I just took the Raw photo into Affinity 2 and pushed the yellow slider.
Never used colour filter. I take everything in raw, then tweak the more promising photos in B&W. So, I suppose that the Affinity 2 filter would be equivalent to adding a filter to the lens.
Btw when you convert digital to black and white the color sliders in post work just as well as the physical color filter
Yeah u chilling
But yellow flowers and pushing the yellow slider means it will overexpose the yellow lol
U gotta pull back on the yellow
color filters are a must, that will help loads.
i couldn't tell the difference when looking at the image preview
mono + yellow
yes it is, just not bnw
sepia
Is it better without the other tree at left
this guys in my classitās so weird seeing his face on discord
Wait so do you know him IRL?
Cuz I thought you only saw him from my insta
i know him irl
Oh
Here's my first attempt at a b&w photo. Any tips?
Straighten the photo
Yeah thats hella weird
Great photo but you need to fix the lens tilt
Ive tried some B&W Architecture photography
how did you get a close-up of a pigeon :0? every time i try to take a photo of a bird they fly away
by shooting with a longer FL lens
no need to get close and spook them
^
Idk how to make the pole straight also one of my favorite phone pic
True, however the digital zoom plus the pole kinda ruined the composition
i tried doing a B&W edit of some dandelions
this was like my first attempt at doing some b&w stuff, so yeah
Fuji xt3 and TTartisan 35mm F1.4
Last one, i turned the lens around and just held it up against the camera
I liked the last one the motion blur gave me this interesting feeling to the image
Backward?
yeah
Interesting
so it would have macro lens abilities
Does the af work?
otherwise it would have to be about 1.5 ft away
it was manual focus
F16, 1/250 160 ISO i believe
probably not the best for my contacts lol
šŖ TTartisan

Give feedback please!
Carbon fiber š„“
looks like noise in full size too
Maybe I'm wierd but I like the grain / noise look
oh the grain i added in post i like that too lol
Matte in the tone cuve
wut
#š”ć»open-feedback
also yeah that crop is just odd
random staircase but you put it in the upper left sector, just feels way too cropped in, assuming you cropped this at all
I think the composition is odd, I think itād look better at a lower diagonal angle looking up at the stairs
yeah
straight on shot like this is nice but >50% of the frame is just empty
there is almost geometry but not enough to dominate the frame
The leading lines leadā¦.well nowhere in this shot as it stands
Just as a point of reference itās a good idea to pin where to took shots, so after you get feedback you can go and retake it
gotta make that human on the left stand out more
would make a good sense of scale for the foreground
people don't realize how big beach anchors are
Fucking massive lmao
Iāll re edit soon
Ty dev
@static badge I usually find that vegetation doesn't look good in bw but you've done it really well here š
lacks contrast maybe?
Still learning more about bw photography
love the 2nd shot
it's everything I've ever wanted my film camera to do when shooting black and white
Thanks!
could've used a tiny bit more sky definition
perhaps an orange filter, if that still keeps the dynamic of the contrast on the building
I tired but unfortunately I blew the highlights cause i didnāt have my histogram
This is the best I could do, since an orange filter would mess with the tone of the subject as the windows were blue
ah
another cool look could be using a circular polarizer and maybe a midnight purple filter
Yeah
I really like this
Could've gone a little bit more to the side while taking this
But i liked the concept and the result
fairly new to b&w
Not sure how I feel about this photo, give some feedback
I really like the 2nd one
the picture is really messy and doesn't have a clear subject or anything leading the eyes towards one either. my thinking when i want to take a picture of something usually goes 'what's my subject? -> how do i best compose the picture for the subject? -> how do i frame it so there aren't distractions?'
good old rundetƄrn
fun with a wide angle
i think that was the last time i used that lens... in 2017 whoops
last time i went i mostly shot the shadows
day with sharp light, so lots of harsh shadows on the mid collum
Great stuff
I especially like the one of the two spherical lights. It's a nice contrast. And really cool that you can see what's inside the building as well as the reflection
Yeah! It was a super old pic I took that I ended changing to bw
im fairly new to bw
This is one of my favorite
Idk if it looked dark or not.. it looks diff on some screen
Very nice but his tamborine is clipped but overall good picture
I like this. The tambourine being clipped gives it a sense of motion the background gives a nice leading line all the way across the subject. Good work
Love The lines on this one
It was a fun location, very much an office park
Printed Kentmere Pan 400 to 40x40 inches.
Large format printer. I really need get my darkroom in order so I can wet print this large.
zamn
sheesh
I havenāt printed a 6x6 this large so I wanted to see how it looked. 4x5 I have tho.
thoughts? infared toning makes an otherwise silly flower shot interesting?
Sonic 25
Forgive the terrible compression š¢
Yeah! It was very foggy
I need to go retake this with a polarizer...
And align it better
zamn
a little keystoning will go a long way to make it look like a mirrored shot
What's that?
basically
distort your images but in desired ways
you can google samples, check the images
Oh right, I've tried it a bit, I only quickly edited this, I'll try to do that in a bit!
Got the 17-70 coming in 3 days!
That fourth one needs to be straightened and cantered
Need straightening. I also think trying to push the blacks the be a bit darker to contrast the sky more might look good.
First one is quite nice, like a still from a film noir
Thoughts?
WIP
I think I've seen pictures like this before, just really wanted to try it myself!
I think this could fit here :b
Yashica Electro 35 with ilford delta 400
Any advice for picking LR B&W profiles? i'm never sure which looks best
Tried an IR one but not sure its an improvment
make your own
like @sharp gulch said, make your own
but photo 1 looks infinitely better
imho contrast > anything in b&w photography
^
i really like the editing and the idea but i think it would've looked better at a lower angle + symmetrical
So one critique I keep getting is that many of my photographs are "muddy" and I still cant figure out wtf that means
if anyone has any comparison images please @ me!
do you have one that's been called this to show?
Muddy often means greys where there should be clean colour or blacks
Eg raising your blacks for some reason
Or putting greys in your colour tones
This feels muddy in that itās unsharp
I agree it kinda just feels washed out with little to no contrast.
that is what muddy is
feedback please! I edited this one wayyyy too many times
Yeah I was a bit limited where I could shoot from, but maybe shooting lower could have helped. Interesting idea. I was trying to capture the dramatic angle of the path up to the corner of the frame, but the left side is a bit distracting. I can try a crop to a different aspect ratio or just move on
i was replying to a different photo
Whoops
dw
I made all of mine, Iād say the default one and edit it
I need to tweak one to fit. I grabbed a few packs of presets ages ago that had some nice ones I usually use but I end up getting decision fatigue after like 10m
Is a automatic Noir filter. Ur right
the birds head would be a cool album cover
your brain automatically is drawn to the eye
Coincidentally sent it to a free album covers channel haha
great minds think alike
Gonna put this one on my Insta sometime tomorrow, thought to throw it here first š
Finally just turned on monochrome mode on my camera to actually āseeā in b&w
EVF advantages
Pretty wild to actually shoot with that perspective
Nice. I wished I could have a monochrome vision.
Not sure about this one as mono vs color
trying out the wide crops for the contest
That photo is awesome! Definitely am now addicted to 18:6 crop
Worth submitting? I have imposter syndrome on here
Iām still new to photography but Iād say itād definitely be good to go. I usually add a small thin border around the edge for the photo like this:
I think it makes the photo look nice
I do 6x17. Iām hindered to image circle on some lenses
That one dude he like š
Submitted here goes nothing
Itās not for the contest
I should try that out
I love panos.
I submitted mine to the contest
Me got a Hasselblad š
Amazing
Thank you š
Almost surreal
i got really lucky that night. took some great images last week but these are the āmoney shotsā.
I kinda wish there was one with no people but the second one is nice
Just the dock and the birds
But that one person walking is surreal
Lots of people were walking on that strip as it was close to sunset. I think the people kinda tell a secret story. I will review the ofhers from that night soon. Im finally back to the mainland
Makes sense. I meant it only as constructive
all good š
Brother dropping bangers one after another š„
thanks!
little back story, this guy was sitting on top of Waikiki pier, no idea how he got up there, and then proceeded to leap into the ocean!
If you edit out those people on the bottom you could make this a truly epic image ā or was this on film?
Very cool shot
thanks but sadly this is digital. was tempted to bring my leica to hawaii but refrained.
Thatās quite nice
never was a better fighter made
Agreed! i love this plane to death and i got to touch one LOL
it's good seeing them displayed, given what happened to most of the fleet
agreed
Came back to say this is incredible
Im a big fan of aaron brimhalls work n i get the same vibes, especially from that last shot
Did some studio stuff today
the f-15 has the tomcat on speed. but the design / styling of the f-14 has it beat. plus its got that phoenix missle! lol
the F-15's W/L ratio makes my opinion what it is
the 14 is one of the sexiest of all time but not the best IMO
Ill post my F-15 images once i get back into lightroom. They had one there as well.
and two Migs
dopeee
oh weird
previewed fine on my phone, strange
Strange, Oh well, its out there on the interwebs if you feel like finding it... Discord sucks
followed ya
thanks š
As promised the F-15
mmf
slick eh? the red filter really does a number on these
right
Red Filter?
i used a mono/red filter profile
i never heard of doing that
but it does look awesome
color filters are big in film photography but the concept carries over to digital. it is used to tone donw certain colors and amplify others when working in monochrome
you want feedback?
Always
#1's subject is really dark and hard to see, and it's overall not that interesting. pretty well framed, but just piss poor lighting. #2 however, great lighting, good framing and posing, visually eye catching subject and a good background. #2 is a good shot
i do wish #1 had better lighting because this frame is really really cool
you're very talented
That sounds about right, #1 was actually really impromptu with a stranger. He was working on a portrait of Nietzsche and I knocked on the window to ask. The place where he was working was dark with outside being super bright
#1 isnāt a great picture lighting wise but I really like it anyway haha
My exposure was changing a lot cause all the lighting was coming in from the windows. The raw is actually much darker and I tried my best to make it better
Thank you!
yeah its got amazing framing and a strong subject just needs more light
Hereās the piece he was working on
Yeah all the light was behind him T.T
yep
dopee
Yeah heās an incredible artist
Maybe Iāll go back when the place is more lit for a reshoot
found some odd lighting... would love your thoughts
p cool... i'd drop the highlights, the lady's face is too strongly illuminated
Love the lighting though
something like this?
it's a very slight decrease in highlights since everything else ends up looking too dark
I like the first one, you did a good job at separating the forest into different layers.
On the second one, I find the branch in the foreground distracting. I think I wouldn't go to bw for this one.
On the last one, I find the ducks a little bit too dark but it may be my screen. I think there's too much background here and I would cut at top of the forest above the house as the mountains behind are already partly cropped and not as interesting as in the first pic.
The thing for the last one is that the background is too bright compared to your subject so I tend to naturally look more at the cropped blur mountain than the lovely š¦ you wanted to show
thanks
i shoot with color in mind so I tried experimenting with B&W too
On the second photo i tried using the branches to frame the people on the beach
but it doesn't quite work in B&W it seems
You hit the nail on the head with the third one
It took me soo long to edit it cause it never looked quite right
these are the color versions
@modern vapor
For the duck one in bw, it's less dark on my computer screen than my phone screen so it's less disturbing, even if the point is still valid.
I prefer the second one in colour even if it would be better without the people on the beach and I think you're right to try to hide them with branches š
I don't have preference for the third one, mainly because the issue is the same in bw and color, you have too much of out of focus background.
And for the first one, I really like your bw conversion. š
I encourage you to continue diving into black and white photography, it's a lot of fun.
Some XP1 Super developed in ECN 2 because I thought it was Kodak Vision 2 250D
i've started shooting a year ago on my phone and i was shooting mainly B&Ws
but then i did color photography exclusive for 6-7 months
and ever since i got a proper camera i haven't got around to do it again
i'll hopefully go out shooting this weekend
i'm hoping to get some B&W street photos
though i haven't done it in a while so my expectations aren't high
and thanks a ton for the feedback!
something fun
Dry flower study. Ilford FP4+ pushed 1 stop in developer.
lovely
Dang youāre making me want to skip 35mm entirely
I love my 4x5. Is just relaxing, but challenging at the same time. I had to do front swing and rear tilt to get everything I wanted on the flowers. Only thing is it takes a while to set up. I think I spent 20 minutes playing with moment and lighting to exposure the sheet.
Totally worth it
Great shots
Thank you. Someone told me it reminds him of Maplethorpe work. I googled him and now I found a new inspiration of a photographer.
Maplethorpe sadly got boxed boxed in by his controversial works. Which is sad cause his work is fantastic.
Yeah. Some people really donāt like his fine art work.
I think is really good.
Today I met one of the great car photographer for advertisement and try convince him and car and driver magazine to do a spread in film.
He likes Kodak tri-x. Maybe they will one day. If car and drive wants to spend money.
nice!
Yeah. The car and driver magazine guy was looking and the film stuff on IG and it must have brung him back to the old days because he really liked the idea
i hope it works out!
It always comes down to money. I wouldnāt be able to do it, but the photographer is interest going back to film. Maybe I could learn a few things about photographing cars. The photographer I met was Jame Lipman. We chatted for a bit.
nice
When black and white comes out beautifully.
nice and crisp
Love this!

Nice quality
Absolutely stunning.
Thank you
I been on a search for really old expired black and white film. That will give me a unique old look. Well after searching and going through several stocks. I think I found what I was looking for. 1958 Kodak Royal Pan.
Now I'm no scientist, But if you ask me. I believe that there may just be, probably is, and could be a, hear me out, a Canon AE-1 Program š§āš¬
Also awesme shot. I love how the "Made in Japan" is highlighted š
Astute observation!
Haha thank you. I just set the AE1 on top of my pc since the light was pretty clean, and snapped that
The monk was. Split second photo as I was talking to him
Iām glad it turned out okay
One day ill get good at this
i love the monk. very heavy frame though, it kind of distracts from the beauty of that man and the beautiful linen on his robe
your photo though :D
Yeah this is the Instagram version. Since I had to put a border to get it to fit in the frame properly
Oh wow that is even more beautiful. Now I notice the depth in the photo. Truly stunning!
Thanks āŗļø
@autumn iris what are the spots in the sky from on those two shots?
It could be fungus or mold.
The film was probably not store in an ideal condition. Iām hoping by freezing it will help stop the spread. And maybe reduce some of it.
First step into B&W photography. Hoping to take more soon
Thatās what I do
I think freezing it and iso 3 is best for the film. Specially since itās 56 years old. I didnāt get that much fungus spots this time.
Scanned.
Jesus christ is that effect your scanner?
The file is large and the compression is what cause the effect. Discord, Facebook and other sites donāt like 60 plus size jpgs.
Well this server does
Try sending the full res jpg
if you want
Yeah. Tour talking about the Dust removing software. It sucks. I forgot to turn it off for black and white scanning
Gotcha, it is extremely noisy
And low quality for such a large format shot
Yeah. The film is from 1968. I donāt think itās going to get better. Iām just happy I got most of the fungus to stop going on it.
Rip. good shot tho
Thank you. Here on the window. The silver was coming off the film sheet. It might have been better if I tray develop it instead so I can be a little more gentle on the negative.
Good idea
this is great
need to shoot this stock moreā¦
Thank you.
What stock?
Nice.

flew both the staightwing and the swept wing
and was one of the first pilots to do in air refueling
that is very cool
lit this one with a red headlamp -- which works nicely as BW (still needs denoise)
I still can't figure out the fuq to focus on stars when its that dark tho
live view or a bahtinov mask
Itās mirrorless everything is live view
I turned on night view and focus peaking but it was still very hard to see anything
Tried the starry af mode for a few shots and then manual override for a few
turn everything to max exposure (30ā, Brightest aperature, Max ISO) and zoom in on the brightest sky object you can, venus works well
This was a wide angle lens so I couldnāt really zoom in⦠ISO was 6400 I could go higher I guess
with the LCD screen
Yeah I have focus zooming on
Maybe itās better without ānight visionā it added lots of noise
interesting
The night vision + focus peaking was a bit hard to read
Starry sky AF got it close tho
Dang guess I need to go back!
for sure
What film stock was this shot on? the grain is very fine and beautiful
Ilford Delta 100 on 120
Nikon p7100 bw mode

nice shot, it compliments b&w well

I may up the contrast some and see how that looks
needs more headroom but very good

I love this photo there's a lot going on in the composition but that's what makes it special very interesting

the fact that the gif says "painter" instead of literal bob ross in the link is downright criminal
Hello everyone i'm new on the serwer š
is this really a BW cult? because if so where do i sign up

love delta great shot
one of us one of us
you are fuji
the innitiation is that you never shoot mono in camera and only acros from this point onwards

is that suppose to be a threat?
the differences are minor and Iām not a pixel peeper anyways, if thereās no color regardless itās b&w in my book

there is actually some differences specifically for acros SOOC on fuji bnw
out of all the film sims its the one that mimics the original the best
it also has a custom mapped tone curve that increases a film grain overlay thats seperate from the film grain settings in camera
ie. it has a tone map and a grain curve map that is determined by set iso
check it out
fuji documents their most unique parts of their system like dogshit so this is the only resource online for it
on the topic of film sims https://fujixweekly.com/
i really like the acros push process sim on trans iii, i tried it once one day and havent shot anything else since lol
some SOOC samples
cool thanks.
Donāt get me wrong imma use acros for sure because i feel it looks better, im just not a science guy about it. Im a daido moriyama fanboy so it could look completely horrible but as long as the content of the photo means something im happy.
I read this art bout some differences not sure if the same.
https://kylewurtz.com/2016/10/05/comparing-fujis-acros-and-monochrome-film-simulations/
i cant explain why, just everything using acros sim in bnw over the direct mono i like more lol
maybe itās the fuji spirits guiding us
same but in the post he's more of comparing the spectrum sensitivity of acros sim compared to actual bw film
this one more or less is about reverse engineering what all the sims do
cool, iāll check it out
its useful to know if you for some whatever reason get very into colour grading
also just details some stuff that isnt documented anywhere else
Imagine Resource no longer exists so :( this is probably the only and last resource we will ever get on film sims
