I’d suggest using Essentials instead of Aternos. Essentials is a mod that has a feature to set up lan games as servers so others can join.

when using essential mod go to mods and disable the custom mw title screen to see the essential title screen to do multiplayer

You don't need to do this, as you can do it in game. In the escape menu, there's an invite button to the right, where you can invite any friends you have added on Essentials.
