Then I think OK Computer is a good next step
I doubt you'll like all the songs, as I still don't like half of them Exit Music for example
But Airbag, Paranoid Android, Electioneering and Lucky will all be good ones for you I think
Yay
this album doesnt have as loud bass as im used to from radiohead
not a bad thing just an observation i made
Did somebody say loud bass

Second half is annoying tho so I don't mind if you skip past that
Ok
what i love the whole song
The crooked trumpets are a bit too much for me
I prefer the live version with the muddy guitar instead
my best radiohead listening experience was listening to ok computer after having not slept for like 35 hours and being semi concious the whole time
35 hours
oh hooooo
Life in a glasshouse is one of the best songs ever
It’s probably my favorite Radiohead closing track
The only good forum here
Talk Show Host has very strange lyrics but a fucking BANGER instrumental
Which sums up some of Radiohead's songs anyway
Liar
You insisted to me thay it was a wolf at the door
@raw isle I saw them in philadelphia!!
no way
july 8th
they were so freaking good
definitely one of my favorites too
i couldn’t stop staring at them lmao
My mom loved radiohead when she was younger but she never got to see them
she had a great time too
That's awesome
speaking of, interchangable with life in a glasshouse for me
they never miss
not even on pablo in terms to closers
blow out is literally a preview of the bends
Blow Out is by far my favorite track on Pablo Honey
It’s a hard choice between 4 tracks for me funnily enough
There’s You, Creep and Blow Out which are all genuinely good tracks (yes, including creep)
And then there’s Anyone Can Play Guitar which I adore but is absolutely not up to the quality of those 3
In my opinion the best closer they made is MPS followed by street spirit
Fade Out is amazing
A Wolf At The Door is outstanding too
I think Lucky would be better as a closer than The Tourist though
too much radio not enough head
amnesiac 😭😭🤤🤤🤤
HELL NO?!
The Tourist is like...
The Greatest fucking closer ever
kid named motion picture soundtrack:
Twins named Wolf At The Door and Life In A Glasshouse:
That ain't even the closing track to Kid A
merp
But Lucky is a much more coherent song :D
Not rlly...
Lucky is the one song in OKC I still haven't exactly figured out LMAO
But that doesn't even matter
Lucky isn't enough of a "bang"
As much as I love Lucky
...Deadass
I understand the Chorus and the Overrall Sentiment of the Track though
Lucky is perfect where it is
I honestly would fuck with Lucky as the Opener too... like hard
Hurt was the end of “the downward spiral”
probably either ok computer or the bends
i started with the bends but it didnt click with me until after i listened to ok compterr
How used are you to experimental music?
do you like those?
hmmm
well just listen to this https://open.spotify.com/album/6GjwtEZcfenmOf6l18N7T7?si=ab22a7d918ff4273
There's a new song by The Smile coming out tommorow:)
And the album is supposed to be out by the end of the year
Yes!!
If you like Radiohead you should defiantly
It's kinda similar to In Rainbows in many ways
Here's the leaked cover art for the new record:
And the tracklist:
I'm happy they decided to put Bending Hectic on the tracklist - I think that was my favorite performance they did when I saw them live
ok
@lament valley
Ohh cool!!!
god i just just love the bends i love it so so good
expecially with headphones just amazing 10/10 album i have every song on my main playlist
What is everyone's favorite song from The Bends?
my iron lung :3
my iron lung 100%
current jam from the bends is black star
Nuclear take here, Ok Computer is consistently good but there’s like 4 standouts at best
And one of them to me is Electioneering (fight me)
As long as you’re not an “exit music for a film” defender
Also I know this is speaking from hindsight but Kid A isn’t that experimental OVERALL, songs like Optimistic, The National Anthem, Motion Picture Soundtrack, How to Disappear Completely, and maybe even Morning Bell aren’t that out there
Treefingers and the title track gave it that reputation alongside starting off with Everything in It’s Right Place
This one id disagree with.
I love these three tho
The title track is mad underrated too
If you’re looking at songwriting structures sure I’d agree but when you look at the production stuff that they did?
The album is flawless for the first 6 songs imo
Not big on those last 4 but that’s on me
I’m a “The bends” guy
For a band like them sure, but in the grand scheme of things I can’t see something like The National Anthem as nothing less than an absolute masterpiece that takes some stuff they liked and adds some mild radio interference
that’s not experimental that’s just liking Charles Mingus
Haven’t heard much of it except High and Dry (sorry) and like Planet Telex ig
listen to my iron lung NOW
maybe
its so good
AMNESIAC TREADMILL?!?!
Just and my iron lung.. and street spirit..
oh yeah street spirit too
those are the two Holy Shit tracks on
That’s what’s memory loss looks like

same but i dont like sulk that much
bones is like a B
for bones
I went through a phase where I REALLY liked sulk but most of the time it’s not great
if sulk was on an overall better album like okc id hate it but on the bends its like Ok...
All I Need is overrated
yeah
In Rainbows is PEAK for the first four songs and then All I Need happens
nice dream is carried hard by the "if you think you are strong enough" part
mild mid point on an otherwise 10/10
ok i still think its great but not THAT great
i dont really like house of cards...
The middle of that album really gets mediocre until Just and my iron lung huh?
yeah
If Creep was a random single off of The Bends every RH fan would like it
yeah
It’s still my favorite
I like Creep
but if creep wasnt as crazy popular as it was radiohead wouldn't be anywhere near what it became post-creep
Creep is a good song. For a long time my favorite from them.
I don’t mind it
Hmm
Valid
I kinda really dislike a lot of Radiohead fans insistence on hate for creep
imagine if creep didnt exist and radiohead just kept writing songs like pablo honey for their career or something
After All I Need the record goes into it’s weakest stretch until Jigsaw Falling Into Place happens
yeah
Even then Faust Arp is amazing
the first 4 tracks on IR though
...... holy god damn
And people swear on Reckoner like it ended their coma
also House of Cards is a chill vibe
i dont hate any sonfs
But I can’t really redeem All I Need except for the bass
it just gets weaker after the first 4 songs
just a bad follow-up to THE song that got me into Radiohead
I heard Creep in Guardians of The Galaxy vol 3 and didn’t think much of it but Weird Fishes made me listen to their holy trinity
the song that got me into radiohead was the first one i heard
and some other stuff
no surprises
I see
On god
Even if just two of those were back to back it would be like peak music
the ending of Nude into Weird Fishes omg how do you even
the opening of bodysnatchers 🤤
its like actually insane how 4 of like my favorite radiohead songs are in consecutive order
I do not understand
what do you not understand
No
mines colin cause he seems nice
based
idk

RAD
10H
EAD
It’s okay to be wrong.
theres people that don’t like exit music??
Yeah
What does everyone think of the new song from The Smile?
https://open.spotify.com/album/7w5rD7XcQufZshgBmTjDIJ?si=b75k0bodR6KJLVifbFGlxQ
I’m really liking it
Reminds me a bit of The Beatles
i still have to listen to it
ok listening right now and i quite like it so far
wow that was actually quite nice :)
iwv really liked all the songs from wall of eyes so far im excited for it
weezer reference?
ill listen later
its better than weezer friend of a friend
I thought it was really good
Bending Hectic has gotta be one of my new favs by them
I love the guitar in that song so much
The song title is pretty straightforward too
Lots of lightly bending guitars in the beginning before it transitions to a more hectic ending
Yeah Bending Hectic is probably my favorite song they’ve released
really good and better than the first by a lot
i quite like it
my favorite track might be read the room with bending hectic as a very very close second
Read the Room is such a cool track
It’s almost like they revisited ideas from the OK Computer era and sprinkled it into the song
That’s something that I really love about The Smile
It gives Thom and Jonny to revisit old ideas while still adding a modern and creative twist to the songs
Which is something they can’t really do as much with Radiohead because of how innovative and prestigious the band’s reputation has become
