This is my sweet local stray, Torti. We moved to this apartment complex a year ago and I only caught glimpses of her for the first 3 months. Then I would see her more regularly and started carrying a little bag of food in my pocket so I could feed her if i saw her. Took her 5 months to come within 5 feet of me but I kept being patient and feeding her every morning on my way out the door for work. Now she does this every morning and she concents to a few pets !

I'm working on it, but we already have two at home and if she is going to be part of our family I have to make sure she wants to be and that she'll get along with the other two. Also, this amount of affection too a whole year to earn and she still flinches if I move a little too fast 🤣 Torti and I have a long way to go until we think about her joining our home.

I've played around 6ish sessions on it so far, and I really enjoy it, but something always tends to go wrong with one of the players, like the map not showing at all or people being unable to walk... but they're fixable pretty fast (though the DM (my partner) does take care about all those things so I can't say much about that)

This is because cat tongues have lots of little cartilegic barbs on them (which is why it feels like sandpaper tongue) and those serve several purposes; including grooming. So when you comb them with just the right amount of force and the right kind of comb, they can feel like they're being groomed by another cat - and if they like you, it's basically one of the purest expressions of love you can offer them.
notably this only works for cats that like you - if a cat does not consider you part of its family or unit (or is just generally misanthropic or antisocial), it will not like being combed by you.
