Horses, like other hooved animal have something called the flehmen response. They pull up their upper lip and basically are really sniffing a scent. Savoring it if you will.

It's how they identify pheromones and other strong/odd scents.

there was another time where i was just driving up to another horse pasture (we have a LOT of those around here) and the horse just went completely CRAZY and very clearly signalled me defensive aggression with pulling its upper lip up. i didn´t really do anything, it was a normal road with lots of other bikers and even cars. i guess it must have been because i myself was showing teeth, grinning from afar because i was just happy to see a horse lol

Yes, its a water turtle (yellow-bellied slider (i think)). Dont worry she has all the water and terrarium she needs but she likes to sit in my lap sometimes. (she even falls asleep sometimes). She's been living with humans her entire life so she is very used to human interaction and she is very social.
