chainmail drawing advice, chainmail slides either horizontally or vertically, for a torso chainmail, it slides left and right so your body can twist, draw a bunch of lines following the direction it moves, then draw half circles in between the lines, also following the lines, then on the next line make them change direction, boom, easy, good looking chainmail, I'll sketch it up really quick as an example

Concept is simple. "haha funny lasergun go pew pew pew." Power is different. It can be adjusted and lowered by the writer.

Even if we ignore the idea/theory that light may or may nor have mass.... in order to create a "beam" or "laser" or "las...whatever" that's able to penetrate solid matter, you need a lot of energy. To do that in high frequency you need a lot of energy frequently... which either means that you have a big (and insanely powerful) energy source that you're removing a little bit of energy from each time you shoot... or that you have a lot of very small (but powerful) that are being discharged very often (and as a result of that need to be "replaced" quite often.

Imagine that energy source to be metaphorically equal to the black powder in "classical" guns: deplete it of it's kinetic energy, transfer that kinetic energy to the bullet -> boom. Deplete the micro-battery of it's energy, transform it into a laz0r -> pew...

Which also means that the gun needs to "cycle" through those batteries quickly - and possibly even eject the depleted ones

For kinetic ejection you need kinetic force... which might be used to explain the gun not being recoil-neutral.

Additionally, if you’re talking about the gun itself blowing up, batteries IRL are quite temperamental. It’s not far off to imagine that a battery energy dense enough to fire 60 lasers with lethal force is harder to stop from exploding than to make it blow up.

When I used to roleplay with a past friend of mine, I had a character that was an Inquisitor who was borderline Heretic, but he did it for the Emperor. Which was the only thing that kept him in line other than the other parts of the Inquisition. He didn't exterminatus, but he lead full on purges of cults, demons, etc etc. Dude wasn't the most powerful psyker, but he sure did a purgin'

His retinue wasn't the most pious bunch either
