That comes with practice with shading, but for now focus on your line work. If you're going for realism then you want your lines to look smooth.

something tells me you're making the final lineart as you go along before establishing the shape of the subject on paper - try beginning your drawing with basic shapes, sticks for arms, sphere for a head, rectangle for a torso. just nail how the character will fit on paper as close to the original as possible. same applies later for the face, deconstruct to smaller shapes and then sculpt on top of them

great book to recommend for any beginner is Fun with a Pencil by Andrew Loomis, look it up and it should be accessible. has a ton of cool excercises for understanding 3d space, perspective etc.
