You very much should only care about like 5 out of 20 of them imo, most of them are literal nobodies that add nothing to the uprising narrative

IMO most relevant ones SO FAR that I noticed are ||Crecy and the Neg rioters, Aphra and her adjutants, Moler and Scuti's investigation into the slaaneshi cult and that's about it, the rest are just additives to those main POVs||

||And to one measure Naysay discovering the initial genestealer directly||

||Szen and the alphabetters are kind of a secondary priority because they're just in for the love of it, Crecy's plot at least shows some doubts about Orquid and the HiveDefs with dubious circle markings||

Very much agreed yeah and even their payoffs are like SO FAR into the book that it kinda makes them sticking around even more headscratchy. Spoilers again ||but for example Scuti and Muller are the ones who first realise the uprising is made by genestealers and she even namedrops them but the uprising is LITERALLY HAPPENING by the time they realise this way into Part 2 so while narratively funny it kinda is a bit too funny as an afterthought when you realize thats been both their entire narrative purpose lol||

it's certainly interesting but it can also being boring as all hell if you dont like space marinara

surprisingly funny at times as well

has some good arco flagellant action too, if you're into that

8/10 would recommend, especially if you like to paint/draw fucked up worlds (which is mostly second book)
