I mean
It’s a place where 1000 people have their souls sucked out of them everyday, so yeah, turbulent
No i think its more likely they never checked how teleporting works lol
^
it has nothing to do with them being female
a male custodian is no different from a female one as tithes showed us
The teleporting nuke part doesn't really have anything to do with the custodian being a woman
I hate it because it's dumb not because the characters female
Oh yeah its a pretty embarrassing plot hole for sure, but whatever
Like I love Sisters of silence and would of loved for them to include more models
I don't think they have enough going on to escape minor auxillary hell

people acting like they cared about them when SoS came out was even more infuriating
lol
They're a convenient source of blanks on tap for writers that's about it
like, reminder
Am I the only real sos fan
SoS were so forgotten in lore
and IRL
that they made it an actual narrative thing in 40k lol
They were hanging out in the most remote corner of the galaxy
Luna
No Dilara is jealous she isn’t a repulsive soulless badass
I really like the SoS heresy and Watchers bits
Good thing no one piloting a voidship around sol asks about all the moons they're banned from landing on
And of course Bequin who isn’t a SoS but is adjacent sort of
emergency landing on titan
grey knight stuffs me in a box
Bequin makes her own sisters of silence, i imagine because dan forgot too
Yeah she meets a lot of checkboxes
like uhhh
female
blank
yeah
🫡
Causes me actual pain since one of my first books I read was watchers and I love how the sisters fight on despite the adversity
She sets up a whole blank loaner program for inquisitors, shame theres no existing org like that
Love Aliyah's squad name and purpose
Exactly Dilara u kno as well as I there are only 12.5 women in the 40K galaxy
And the 0.5 is Slaanesh
yeet
Grok is this series dead
Yes it's dead ;_;
As far as I know Chris isn't writing a third book
Chris in an interview said he'd love to continue watchers but that depends on if gw will pay him for it
And there's other books ahead of it
also added by the fact that BL books already dont make a lot of money minus 30k slop releases so theres not as much interest in it for some of the background GW dudes
;-;
curse the horus heresy
yeah its one of the things that really surprised me when I heard it
the fact that BL really doesnt bring in that much revenue apparently
Its 13.5 now, female custodes

which kinda makes sense, the purpose of the books is to spread and make people buy minis
so it checks out i guess
its cause space marines probably
people want to consume space marine content
and horus heresy is the biggest pile of space marine content imaginable
I'm already buying minis and paint dammit just give me moreeeeeeee
What if sanguinius was a woman
Would next question
that wouldn't really make sense
Nono no
XD
no
Seee dilara agrees
aint nobody gonna be fighting in the wars man
That means I'm objectively correct
I mean same
Cant focus on the war effort with all the gooning
I mean blood angels have issues with gooning
To begin with
Gooning has been advantegous to war since WW2
look at all them propaganda posters
🫡
The germans dropped high quality cuck porn in ww2
On the british soldiers
British just gooned
Wrecked
Go sit in the chair
🫡
Welp my coworker convinced me to wait till next month to get void exile, so now I need to decide what to read until silent king. Choices are oaths of damnation, space wolf, helsreach, war boss or brutal kunnin.
Based af
Id post it but it has female nudity
Imagine being able 2 read
In this modern world
There audiobooks I just said read cause why not
Do u also fletch arrows
Have a huge bucket of obsidian sitting in my garage
Now he goes and does it… competitively???
Idk but he’s good at everything he’s prob good at this
U can make the athame
Dagger
Guess I'ma read oaths of damnation
Yeah the BL is a weird but massively effective loss leader
They wouldnt sell nearly as many models if the playerbase wasnt attached to the setting and lore
Plastic crack hit the BL readers hard
Also named characters cost like 6 times the price per model soooo
Thats the irony of it
it doesnt make a lot of money so its not that much of a primary concern for GW but they also literally bring in so many new fans lol
Yea like even if the books don't sell big, the quotes circulate, get posted on Reddit, people discuss them, clips from audiobooks get put into TikTok edits etc etc. It basically turns into advertising that people pay for.
^
NGL I don't actually hate Ruven that much
I wish I could find a single clip of gulliman interrogating a daemon host but nobody seems to think it's as interesting as I did
Um excuse me
we need more clips instead of CHAD GIGAMARINES
SAYING COOL ONE LINERS
AND DOING BADASS-OMEGA-ALPHA STUNTS
🗣️
Dilara why do you destroy my will to be in this hobby

Your lucky the sunken cost fallacy exists
I must remind you the reality of warhammer youtube shorts

because I also hate them
That's it, reminder that the daemonculaba existed
Fair, tbh it's been months since I'd seen it brought it
Once it gets repeated enough it loses its shock factor
Yeah pretty much, you should have seen it back in the day lol
It got brought up like every day
I'm pretty sure there's an entry in this book that teaches one how to handle daemonculaba
I bought it and the lads moving their minis on the tabletop offhandedly remarked "20$ piece of propaganda"
thats very likely
that primer is like one of the most expensive 40k memorabilia in existence lmfao
God Id buy it
Best tp around
Yeah under pain of death supposedly
Oh look it's an entry on the arbites in darktide
Wait holy shit you have the super rare one
If it’s not a bother can you send images of the tau page lol
Been reading about this horus guy. He seems pretty reasonable, wonder why they call it his heresy though
His hair is a mess, hence Hairesy

Luna Wolves seem like nice guys
Its the wolf on his back
It had a bad hair day
But that erebus cat, upstanding individual.
Any books staring Arbites?
The old Shira Calpurn books
She’s fun
They show up in warhammer crime very rarely
In a very tertiary role
So not really
What the FUCK Gaunt ||has a son??????||
…. I didn’t pay enough attention haha
The description of the kid did give me pause for a sec
to be fair at the time that book was written that entry was prolly true
That trillogy is on my radar. Unfortunately i would have to sell both my kidneys If i wanted a pysical copy and i dont like eBooks
I wish they did. But in lore, they occupy a medium role that doesnt have large readerbase.
Normal crime = probators and their lower ranks take care of it (think of it like criminal Investigation unit)
Population Control, Riot quelling, counterterrorism, supression of social unrest, purging of mutants, busting crime syndicates, weeding out corruption = arbites
Planetary defense = local pdf forces or guard
High level threats = sisters of battle/space marines
Extreme threats/anything Chaos= Inquisition and everything below, recruited in their service
As you can see, whatever exceeds rioting, bigger players like the Inquisition can also tackle and thus youll find these stories mostly portrayed by them. Now, some books like the Uriel Ventris trillogy or some books of the dawn of fire series have extensive arbites scenes and actors integrated but they remain side characters. Sadly
Id love to see more probators + arbites work together personally. Always enjoyed the few crime stories we have where a police commissar needs to investigate something
Ok still nothing has happened yet (they’re still en route) and I can tell this one is gonna fuck me up.
Lmaoooo the way Abnett writes Space Marines in the context of Gaunt’s Ghosts as having absolute S-tier space autism
“I do not care in any way about your name.”
“What… do you want”
“You can go away now”
Darktide prolly done more for arbites than all the novels combines
I've just finished Eisenhorn books (give me Pandemonium ffs)
Since ghosts of Gaunt is written by Dan Abnett too, are those boks good?
that's true for Ogryns but not really Arbites
Yes
yes they are though quite different in theme
Inquisition vs Militarum I guess?
well yes but the storytelling is rather different as well
or well not very different
but they're good
excellent even
Yes they are. Read em.
The first couple are like pulp serials so you have to get about 3 books in to get to the good stuff but like
Eg the last 3 i read all made me tear up, to my chagrin
Gaunts ghosts is a war drama compared to eisenhorns like, mystery action noir
But yes good
I think Pandemonium is due soon
maybe in a few more years
Yah it’s gonna be a while 😭
Any day now
maybe i'll finish a 40k book by the time it comes out
🚬 when is bequin 3 coming out 😭 i dont wanna start a trilogy and wait months for it to finish
do i have to read about eisenhorn and his boyfriend before to get the trilogy or no?
do mean Ravenor?
if yes, then yes you should
it's a trilogy of trilogies and you'd be skipping the middle part
yeah who else
yeah see idk who that is
Haven't you read the first three Eisenhorn books?`¨
i just remember reading bits of bequin where ravenor and eisenhorn have a 5 hour discussion in their minds
idk seems kinda sussy to me
no
Then you shouldn't do Bequin
im mostly interested in bequin penitant and whatever is the 3rd because they progress the golden throne plot

You'd lose SO much if you just jump straight into Bequin
Let me put it into terms you might understand, it's like you were to jump straight into Avengers Endgame without seeing any of the previous MCU movies in a hope of seeing the end credit scene of the Endgame movie
🚬 big woop girlie dies valdor clones girlie, girlie gets trained then two gays fight over her
imma be real i've read so much about the two books online
i think i can skip them
you're horrible
i am to displease
reading about books online is not the same as reading the books themselves!!! You miss out on so many details and nuances, worst of all the details online might just be flat out wrong
iknow i got sick of waiting i just needed a little something to take the edge off
dude watches all the trailers of a movie and doesn't watch the movie because he's seen enough
Clad will do anything but read good 40k books
Even reading good 40k books... Out of order with no context
It's finally time! With the release of Era of Ruin, the final book in the Siege of Terra by Black Library, it's possible to review the entire series! Let's jump through all the novels in slightly more time than last time, and find out how the most recent book links us into Warhammer 40k
Check out EVENTS and buy MERCH on the store at:

Very good summary of the Siege, as always from Ian
…… is this a joke
You haven’t read Bequin?
Wait
You haven’t read EISENHORN
Get out of this channel lmao
Given his feelings on Abnett, I can see why
@tall phoenix u were right put him out of his misery
@safe plover bro you will like them at least listen to them. Legion is an acquired taste I admit but these are just good books
i am waiting untill the last book gets released
i know theyre good
ive read a bunch of summeries
but i dont wanna have to wait 40k years for the last one
o
I mean fair
misunderstanding so bad he broke character 😭
In some ways the plot points are the least important things re the books.
LOVED his takes in this video
extremely honest and a perfect summary imo
people wank the Siege way too much, its nice to have some honest opinions on it and him outright mentioning the bad books with some polite jabs lol
true
and validates my love for Abnett's prose and bombastic storytelling
even if it takes too long (for some)
Agreed im glad he also didnt jerk off EndDeath too much, I very much agree it has some excellent writing but he also perfectly sums up the whole like "Why the fuck are we reading about these side characters that dont matter"
the fact that Abnett's editor Kyme basically did not do his job as confirmed at the afterword of the final novel explains a lot of things
This Abnett fellow seems like a great writer. He should get involved in Darktide
This grenade also seems like a great writer, I should pass it to you for some help
🫲
Oh hey an appl-
Damn, wrong casualty 😔
Emperor wills it
Yes I got extreme Dance with Dragons vibes
Right where GRRM got so big the publishing house got scared of pissing him off by giving him a hardass editor
Everyone needs a hardass editor
Dan Abnett needs it when following random threads esp if it makes the book unbalanced
Darius Hinks needed it when he was like “maybe I’ll be a writer”
… that was mean
Jesus Christ the conversations between mortals and space marines in Salvation’s Reach are just A++++
“I do not read… human… microexpressions.”
“Is it a woman? A woman… a sexual… partner? I understand that can be… distracting for the emotionally compromised.”
also redditor
Also the description of how each marine has exactly 1 special interest that takes up all his time
(non-derogatory)
He's just like me frfr
Oh quite the opposite in fact yes
This book has finally made me look forward to the Astartes’ showing up in a chapter
Like each section im like “oh I hope the grumpy one is in this!”
(they’re all the grumpy one)
When's that mad dok grotsnik book coming out again?
Already did i think
It’s been out
damn
Pretty good book
I’d say it’s second to the Ghazkull book
But it’s still extremely good from what I’ve read
Gimme some spoilers before i read
especially the main plot, antagonists and ending pls
There’s ||a very obvious twist|| involving ||genestealers||, it dives into ork culture and has some fun bits. ||ghazkull is a horrifying background character|| and depicted well
Oh also
It makes Orks weird, more alien and scary
Rather then goofy
They’re still goofy, but in like a dark humor way
Also grotsnik has uh issues
You know how Grotsnik is called the mad doc? Well ||he has these horrifically shown mental and mood swings and it’s done in such a way it’s super unsettling and creepy||
OH yeah that
it is somewhat shown in the Short that is a leadup to this book iirc
also does the book cover his whole bio-ork experiment thing or nah
It does
Not heavily but it does have some of it
He’s done in such a creepy and interesting way though
Regarding Grotsnik, it really really elevates him beyond the basic
That is pretty interesting
also tbh
hes basically a basic-bitch character
so im glad they do a lot more with him in this book lol
Yeah his entire lore is usually just "haha TF2 ork medic"
Yeah before he was just generic ork mad scientist
so i might pick this up as well
Now he’s uh
He’s way creepier and unsettling
||they don’t play his mood or
Personality swings for humor much||
Not in any way beyond dark humor
Lmao
Like holy shit he just hacked their goddamn limbs off
Also for spoilers where/what does the book take place in? Is it location hopping like most novels or in one place.
It takes place on a specific hiveworld
The orks are basically on the verge of victory on the world
Yeah was gonna ask lol
But it’s not boring
Nah I doubt it is
The Guard as the antagonists(sorta) are done well, even if you get no POV from them
I guess the guard are the plot antagonist lol
There’s a few
I assume grots maybe?
Grotsnik is the majority, there’s a grot and 2 other Orks
Yeah guessed it lmao
lol
alright guess ill pick it up
Sounds fun
it has one of the most peak excerpts of all time though
A grot doing this
spoilered of course
he's called mad dok for a reason
He is so genuinely insane other orks even find him unsettling
Ok it hurts me to be critical because I love GG and also I’m not finished yet so anything could happen but I’m getting tired of the number of death fakeouts in Salvation’s Reach.
Like come on there have been like 8 or 10 so far.
Including one of the most annoying kinds the “well technically his heart stopped before he was resuscitated”
Is broken crusade by fisher any good?
I'm about half way through Luther, First of the Fallen and it's pretty decent. I definitely expected it to be less interesting.
Don’t worry, there will be plenty of deaths to go around
Don’t get me wrong I’m dreading them something has happened to my brain everything makes me tear up
Maybe it’s menopause
No judgement here I was struggling too. In fact, most of the books had me torn up at some point.
I need to reread those books so I can actually understand the foreshadowing
Welp just finished outer dark

It was good but now I've got like ten days before I get silent king
Wonder in the arbitrator is gonna end up being the inquistor in the next book or if she's gonna join a different retinue
I've been waiting for bequin to finish for FIFTEEN YEARS!!!
Dan abnett when he locks a cool character in stasis then GW calls and tells him he needs to write 100 books about space marines
good image

Lmao
GW when Abnett tries 2 write a non-autistic girl character: 🛑 ✋
autism sells

guilliman said its fine
Ive seen there is the 3rd book about Ufthak, no?
About him? No
But he makes a very brief appearance in Warboss
i mean ive seen here that there is a new book about orks
from the author of dilogy about Ufthak
announced or that came out
i just finished Terminal Overkill
yeah, i agree with Dilara - mid book
i was baited to read it by the "giant pile of fat and filth being the most tasty thing"
Holy shit you still remember my review of it? Im homored

Grudgingly I note u have universally good book takes

Its an effect of reading a lot of 40k books when I can
it makes me jaded but when a book comes up man it does heal me a lot
I finished Salvation’s Reach and it’s a weird book. The pacing felt off. ||Like the assassin thing at the beginning was resolved so quickly whereas I thought that it would be a continued plot line resolved near the climax. Much of the book was preparation for the Reach but a lot of things were set up that didn’t play out? Like the whole drug ring thing and idk Blenner never got to do anything brave etc etc. It felt like half of a book. Having begun The Warmaster, I guess it seems like maybe it was half of a book and this is the other half. Strange work taken on its own though.||
i saw it recently when i was trying to find who told me about this book when i asked from which book i heard that part about tasty mountain of fat and shit
gonna be honest, that was really kinda terminal overkill to read
now that i finished it i can start something actually good, like Ravenor
Yeeee its just a "fine" book I didnt have much to think on it either admittedly so you sum it up well.
I mean the baseline is high. It’s always nice to spend time with the Ghosts.
It made me want to paint mine and get them on the table. They’re great in 10th.
The timeline is hundreds of years off iirc, but it would be funny to see a cadian complaining about losing cadia and a tanith going "yeah yeah we've all had our homeworlds blown up get over it"
"Ours had cool trees you lived on a whole planet of eastern europe"
I need a 40k author tier list now from you please (please put Thorpe in f tier)
I wouldnt put Thorpe in F tier but definitely in D at least
hes great as a rulebook author but as an actual novel one not so much
i agree, when it comes the world building he is known as that guy for a reason
he's good at that unfortunately
when making stories and characters
He falls a bit short
Ya I give him a big pass bc he’s a bridge between the old guard and the new and is a font of lore.
I remember reading about him all the time in early 90s white dwarf mag!
If I’ve never read any of Gav’s novels
He’d be S as an author
Just due to his rulebook lore stuff
But he’s like a C bcs his novels are

Ive only ever read that guys dark angel slop and i dont think ive read a worse 40k author than him. Not even kyme is as bad
His eldar and LoV books are both extremely heavy on world building
As for the writing itself
Ehhhh
He’s very good at worldbuilding and the drier aspects of lore
only read thorpe's votann book, which definitely wasnt anything to write home about
yeah sums it up well
The Ultramarine Prayer.
Idk what it is about this scene but this mediocre movie and some of its scenes still tickle my brain in the right spot 🤗🥰
That is the most casual beatdown of a daemon prince I have ever seen
Blueberry bonus
But the music and voiclines, omg, still so fucking Epic
I actually liked the Ultramarine movie
God bless watching movies on youtube
There were some fantastic moments in those DA books. The part in Master of Sanctity where Asmodai interrogates Methelas still gives me chills
Is there a full final diagram of HH novels now that the final final book is out? Or is this still like one of the best?
Nah all of that is correct
it also doesnt really need one
Siege is all in chronological order
and so is Era of Ruin
Ah I guess, just wish it was more... parseable I guess
alas, the result of so many slop books
I mean, for the sake of 'legion', I like the bit where the creepy teenloving psyker throws himself out an airlock as he realized he's an awful person doing awful things. Shame it doesn't stick though
legion bad
Emphasis on "many"
theres some actual good books ala Legion, even if some amongus are too sharksoup-brained to realise it 😔
Clad out here living his best life throwing hands with everyone that lives 😂
you dont even like legion
you just hate me more
no
yes
lobotomy....
Of course you picked one that looks like it got hit in the head with a steel beam
yea
shes so cute tho
one of the rare times I agree with your statement
oh my god khorne brain blood ice cream
Hunter is so good man
Brooo
It's so fucking good
That whole team puts there heart and fucking soul into it
Also regarding chapter 5 things are not adding up puts on tinfoil hat
|| the fact that there was a garou there is fuck a fucking coincidence. Wilde got found out on a fluke and grimal stashed the hunter data in the smokes. Grimal had no fucking clue that Wilde was a fucking werewolf and she was just trying to frame her. However I do not believe she is the ghoul. I believe it's Elise using dominate on grimmel. Elise is a ghoul with some tenure and she's directly from the regent herself so she's a low gen ghoul thus would have access to means to mind control. Elise obviously could not get through the vents herself given how... Gifted she is, so she made grimmel do it and forced her to forget it happened.||
Re reading void stalker || and I'm at the part where uzas confronts cyrion and oh my goddf it's so good||
When you look at the episode quality with each drop you really start to see where 27k$ of that patreon money goes to lmao
Hour long animations yeah
Yeah also explains why they got their own animation studio now too
the quality is legit insane
Bro I'm impressed paradox hasn't made it official yet
Like even if the characters are expys it's still legit there own characters
They have been officially sponsoring it since EP1 but Alfa made clear this is very much their take on Hunter to some extent as well
cant complain though its just peak cinema
I thought it was made with approval from paradox but not officially licensed or canon
Yeah its more sponsored as in "look at this cool thing our fans made!"
so its very much recognize at least
good thats the intention
Some people be saying Markus is an imbued but as far as I know imbued can't go into the umbra
Also imbuded can't be mages and I think Marcus is gonna a mage
Markus is definitely gonna go the Magnus route of magic stuff so we'll see
Mage is a part of the setting i really dont like so i cant comment much lol
There a lot about the setting that's weird or strange
Looks at the shadow war with the lizard men in the hollow earth
born to die mages is a fuck
Real and true
I should learn the system and do a hunter the reckoning game at some point
The only good thing mages did was nuclear spirit bomb ravnos 100%
I'm already mentally insane it's fine
No hunter 1e is just objectively worse
Lol
From a gameplay pov
Unless you really like jank
Lol keep that in mind
I mostly stick to V20, Hunters Hunted 2 is decent afaik
I respect consistency
Wat the fu u nerds all talkin bout what is hunter
I had a college roommate who changed his name from Michael 2 Hunter he was a dick
every hunter is a dick
Michael Applebaum ==> Hunter Gray dickification pipeline
|| continuations of this rant, in the ghoul episode audiolog big dee mentions how the sabbat knew about the org due to one of there own ghouls recently meeting with the ghoul of the arcanum, and what to do you know in the beginning of chapter 4 Elise and grimmel are talking about a meeting they had with a organization. Wiggen kabab||
Especially Hunter avallone
idk who that is
A cringe American influencer who switches sides more often on the political spectrum than i my underwear
Yeah I still got no idea who the ghoul is
they hid it very well but just like the wolf reveal I hope its good lol
It's certain to be good
It’s gona be ||Elise or Grimal||
Either that or it’s the most absurd red herring ever
Lol
||my money's on Elise||
I kinda knew who the werewolf was based on the signs like her name, how she wrote it. The scratch marks everywhere.
I noticed that
She might also be unaware of slang tbf
She’s a werewolf
But it’s funnier to imagine it’s the first option
Did you notice the delirium in black jaws eyes stopped when he bombed shoulders with dee
Also I've heard rumors that deedee might be a mummy idk much about mummies in wod
Yeah little touches like that are great
its not something most people would ever even pay attention to as well
"son in law you are not ready to face a werewolf... Yet" the werewolf in question folding everybody
The fact that they barely even put a dent in her too lmao
no anti-tankshells at hand 😔
She likely wasn't a high ranking wolf
She got a infiltration job thaats not a jump you give to the high ranks
If only they had the m60s on the golden goose
Dammit door and boy why'd you have to burn down an o tollies
Lmao was gonna say Dorn not being there with the heavy guns was also the perfect excuse
man has to eat
That's the burger company that puts demons in the burgers
XD
I also loved the plane episode because what the hell was bug bro and creepy phone man. My guess for phone wan is a technomancer or something
yeah that was where i was legit lost lol
my expertise is Masquerade/Werewolf, none of this other shit
All I know is nustrum is a subsidiary of pentex which is like a super evil supernatural corporation
Otolleys is a subsidiary of pentex as well
Russel is def a werewolf of some sort
You know because of who he is
It’s human flesh isn’t it
Lol
Yea I've seem people mention black spiral dancer but my two dollars are on garou 100%
Black spiral dancers are werewolves
Once a year??
Isn’t that shit dead masquerade had Gehenna Wereyiff had The Apocalypse
I feel like it lost ~ 100% of its audience
No lol
Just like warhammer 80% of its audience is chuds/nazis it isnt going anywhere, its very much alive
What was the behind the scenes on that I wonder
Wat really but even the old version wuz so ~ inclusive ~ like the comic at the beginning of the core book was some Native American slop
I mean
so is 40k now
and we still got them in droves lol
it doesnt really make a difference, these people will always be here
nWoD was a bit of a response to the arcane and abstract rules of oWoD and a shift in setting and tone, no more minute to midnight setting afaik
at least the rules tended to be a lot better
^
It was just a relaunch, it went pretty okay
this wasnt a EndTimes situation
you literally got to even choose in your game how the apocalypse ended the world
It just doesn't have the soul of oWoD
Yeah its why people just combine modules usually
WoD has been around for awhile now so it comes and goes
Wait so werewolf still had the stepping into the warp/webway thing that the coyotes were really good at etc etc
...Yes?
Tbf V20 is not bad at all, I get the new system and the old fluff. I'm pretty happy, not much to complain about
Yeah same, its a lot better and more fun
Wat kind of wereyiff do u play
There's a lot to like about nWoD, but god being a computer and the demons being rogue agents of the matrix isn't my cup of tea
don’t u play it ur talking about the system
Its the only part of WoD I hate which is Mage
I MUCH prefer when WoD is like Hellboy
aka almost all fantastical things exist in a grim earth etc
Mage really pushes it with shit like that which I really dislike
Can’t u b like a silver fang or a g olden shower or whatever
Mage was never my cup of tea. I love the premise but not so much the execution
It's the same problem I have with Demon, you can go loud in downtown New York as a bibically accurate fallen angel and there's no real mechanical repercussions but also it's fun hell yea
Oh yeah that one too. I guess there were a lot
Why did they do the reboot
Like mechanics I get but why setting
Again, what are you talking about
Clans? lmao
I guess they shifted focus more on mortals, they wanted to tell a different story is my guess
Less vampire armageddon more man the night sucks ass man
Yeah the doomer vibes are still there, its just more modern now
Ya i kno u’ve got ur crinos fursuit back there somewhere
anyway just play Dresden Files RPG: Our World instead of mage 4head
No im the only coherent person here
Wats that
i'll tell you once you memorize princess the hopeful
Kaggen is letting the voices win again
I am so persecuted in this space
Ty yes i kno
Brother are you high
I think hes just bored
he does this sometimes
lmfao
guy went on for like 10m about furries or something so I guess it is what it is
I get high when I bored too
He mentioned golden rain soooo yeah he's gone off the deep end
Does the new world of darkness have all the different animals
Like the old one had codex wereshark
Something something werespider
36ft with a 98ft error margin is mildly innacurate
just a tiny bit
should i get kingmaker
yea
k
good
What are some good Psyker focused books
Eisenhorn / Ravenor
Sick ill check ot out
🙏
is the infinite and the divine a good read
Yes
Its very good yeah
I still have today and Monday-Wednesday next week to go before I can have 10 days off work. WHY SO LONG???
Time slows down as you approach freedom
This is my last day before a 4 week vacation
I'm supposed to get a project ready for production
I feel that I'm running out of time and that time has crawled to a stop
I just finished work and now I’ve got a 4 day weekend after working short staffed (2 instead of 5) for the past month
I just realized
We never got anything about how the night lords were gonna fuck up craft world ulthwe to ensure the fall of cadia
Because they didn’t, the nightlords participated at the fall of Cadia
The biggest warbands of them rather
What about the end of void stalker though
I’d assume they went with a different plan
Maybe their foresight showed something different
Maybe
Future sight in 40k is ultimately a fickle thing
Man I need adb to release more NL stuff
We do know that Decimus’s warband participated at the Fall of Cadia
In some manner
Along with Krieg’s warband
Which would put the 2 biggest nightlord warbands at it
Funny how that works
Is there any story related or just something that was said somewhere
Just mentioned off handidly
Aw damn
We know Krieg is mentioned in gathering storm
And Decimus’s warband is mentioned without his exact name
I think I'm gonna take a break from Warhammer books for a bit and then get started on devastation of Baal
Since i forget what novel states “the 2 largest warbands of nightlords are present in the forces of the 13th black crusade”
Ic ic
Which unless GW retcon’s it which is unlikely, Decimus’s forces participated in the 13th black crusade
Because the 9e codex states decimus and krieg
As having the 2 biggest warbands
Ulthwe was also(partially) busy trying to birth a God at the time and also figuring out what the fuck Eldrad was doing
So I’d assume it’s a case of the stars aligning for that lol
a friend of mine got the ciaphas cain books i shall be yapping about those soon
i wish there was a list of books about cain in chronological order

i saved a friend from buying the shitty cadia audiobook
a mistake i did
he will buy the good one
those websites about 40k book lists are so outdated and bad
Which cadia book is the bad one
first book feels outdated and mid so far
first book started with an all female squad being merged with an all male squad due to losses and them fighting over dishes
this is by far one of the worst things i've ever read
no wonder they retconned gender segregated squads out of existance
Cain books are miiiiid
i just tried because a friend got them i had zero intrest beforehand
they were FREE
: )
It is the gotrek and felix of 40k for a reason
it's not the worst but it's not really that narratively interesting
yeah they are by Vail
I have an associate who insists reading the entirety of the Cain novels is the single greatest way of being introduced to 40k because that's what he did
But man, I can't read more than one in a row before falling asleep
So fun fact
the author of the Cain books has outrigth stated on social media that he very much considers Cain to be almost not that lore accurate/not a great way to start 40k

Then what is the definitive book to start 40K in
Any book you want tbh
Wisdom prevails once again 🙏
Yeah I can't see why you wouldn't just pick a faction and start there
aight then time to recommend this to a new guy
^
This is my mindset
just pick a faction and start reading that
Well new ork fans will be disappointed by the grand amount of their books being 1 digit numbers
Come on now, there's enough to count on one hand nowadays
More middling marine novels is what we all need
Necron fans get three books
🚬 getting 3 books is better than getting 165 short stories and 5 books 4 of which are shit
i will never forgive nick for deathfire
67 chapters all garbage
I really think he probably has it in him to write better books
Y doesn’t he try more
He never does. And the Fallout of that is always the funniest thing about this chat. That and you blowing a gasket over his statements

Unlike other novels that might be a false retelling in universe the cain novels almost certainly are
Inquisitor Vail sitting in her office writing fanfiction about her old boyfriend
I am right about everything
nick had me sit through 67 chapters just for ||vulkan to say "my sons" and numeon to fucking die|| im 99% sure he was writing the entire book just to make us feel how numeon felt not even to tell a story
I might never have gotten into 40k if i had started on the wrong books lol
i care not for the opnions of AI
A long time ago i randomly grabbed the eisenhorn and gaunt 1 omnibusses at a bookstore
I could have grabbed a Goto instead and despised the whole hobby
I also randomly grabbed a print edition of Order of the Stick on that trip only to learn later it was a webcomic and i didn't get the one print-only thing lol
You dont care about the opinions of anyone but yourself
nuh uhhh, i care about the opinions of uhhh
everyone who also hates legion
yeah thats a good answer
So... Just you?
noooo theres like 2 others here that also dislike it
Name them up the top of your head no searching up right now
If it was a gradeable paper id give it a b- or a c+. It was alright. Certainly not a dumpsterfire like Battle of the abyss or Vulkan lives. But not a sublime work either. It was alright.
HEY vulkan lives was great
Guilliman dies
I said spoilered idiot
also I always like spoilers
you are just a weirdo who considers basic information spoilers

you litearlly spoiled the beastary for me by giving out the big reveal at the end
wtf is beastary is that that furry anime
Wait but that’s not even the big reveal the big reveal is the tablet

ur both dead
Also the crystal poop
Lmao
@safe plover Szeretett testvérem Krisztusban, húsz perc múlva online leszek. Csatlakozol hozzám?
im cooking rn itll be a while
Also I just realised, this is Xenology, its not even a novel.
so you'd never even read it

I'll be online all evening. Join me at your convenience. I'll just play with some of the guys from ogryn chat or randoms.
Also, Jó étvágyat!
I will, works been busy so I haven't gotten really into it yet
I'm almost off though so I'll be able to get somewhat into it
the scouring comes
Lmfao I love the Tempestus Scions in The Warmaster
Lol it releases on my birthday.
Seems to have taken the entire evening, when i left at 22:30 you hadnt showed.
Was the stew good?
yeah it was
it only took 3 hours
i played some mass effect afterwards didnt have the focus for DT
Worth it. Stew is soul food. Nothing like a good stew with freshly self baked bread and an ice cold beer 😋
Fair enough. Pubs was a nigjtmare tonight. Sooo many dunderheads
And i havent seen so many ragequits since ive last played heresy.
Even got called a tourist today

He wanted us to pull back but he neither typed it nor used the ping
He used voicechat which 90 percent of people (myself included) have turned off...
No wonder i didnt hear him

He wished us a happy whipe and ragequit.
nothing spawns anymore idc why people bother larping
You don't like hearing all the sounds in an xbox players house?
thats not a thing in the EU
i can count on one hand the instances of hotmicing ive had
No. The first russian i came across cured me from the affliction of wanting to hear the cacophony of random screeching.
hrut mentioned in kingmaker
Ru kidding lmfao
i never kid, son
I just finished Eisenhorn Xenos and there was a paragraph that amused me.
I wondered if the pitiful white things were a separate race enslaved by the saruthi, or a bastardised, mutant caste kept in servitude. The invasion, it seemed, had freed them to turn on their owners and butcher them. Such is the price of slavery, sooner or later.
I wonder if Eisenhorn considered this to apply to the Imperium?
It's not slavery. Humans have the honor of serving the god emperor
I wonder how much of the Eisenhorn arc Abnett had in mind when he wrote Xenos.
Man really took a humdrum tie in novel assignment and created the foundation of modern Warhammer lore
Basically none id wager
a lot of famous authors tend to make shit up as they go along
which is very normal, especially when you dont expect the novels you write to blow up ala the first Gaunt's Ghosts
I guess he had an endpoint because the inq game featured old man Eisenhorn
I was gonna say he sets up a bunch of stuff but then realized that.
How dare u say this GRRM thought of the entire text of A Dream of Spring while still in the womb
I have just started Anarch and boy oh boy has shit gone down
I remember paul and storm wrote a song about george r r martin finishing this book at least 10 years ago
"Please keep in mind/
In the time you've been working/
William Shakespeare churned out/
Thirty five friggin plays"
tbh
the issue with that is a play is a play
not an overarching way too needlessly detailed fantasy epic
some artists have worked on personal projects for decades
malazan book of the fallen was done in 12 years WITH spinoffs
though i think steven erickson might be some kind of savant
honestly its just a funny verse its not like shakespeare only wrote bangers either
Idk what u mean I require exceedingly detailed descriptions of food and uh
Me when I write 90 detailed story characters and then decide to put them all in the same place in the same plotline and I have to figure out a way of resolving it in a way that's satisfying for each character.
no
Yeah thats his problem.
He makes his stuff way too realistic, like that is great in small doses but when you make every single goddamn character have real motivations and political needs/wants it becomes a clusterfuck as you are the sole person responsible for making these storylines lmao
Not the Lebanese Knot or whatever it’s called
ya that’s wat I said
getou-
The show circumvented this problem by not including any of the characters which made Meereen complicated
Genius
is he related to Jan itor?
a country
thats Lebanon
lebanese is the adjective
you're an adjective
you're subjective

Echoes of Eternity is the seventh novel of the Siege of Terra series. It was written by Aaron Dembski-Bowden and first published by Black Library in September 2022.[1]
ADB, makes sense
end and death vol 1-3 are also good but you need to skip the plot lines with ||Basilio Fo||
Hey guys im looking for a excerpt from a book the basis is a Space Marine chapter was charged with bringing a world into compliance, they make landfall and seeing the humans dont have weapons capable of hurting them one decides to make a point and march towards the lines alone hes shot at by cannons and small arms fire but it barely slows him down, he gets there and shows them the threats they face on a data slate
I remember this vividly but cant find it anywhere for the life of me and google is absolutely zero help
Not familiar but sounds like the imperium
Sending a space marine on a mission like that doesnt make sense in lore but is 100% something i would expect to see anyway lol
I like the idea of the imperium 7 hour war-ing more primitive lost human worlds
the first cain book is awful theres some nice lore about the guard and PDFs but thats about it
and tbh I really dont enjoy the journal style, if i wanted to hear a someone leave snarky remarks after everything I say i would
ok i wouldnt but you get the idea
Here. It's a piece of fluff written and read by Baldermort so isn't considered a GW primary source, but is well written. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU0pC74CeD4
Anarch notes so far (early): a great deal is already paying off. I’m glad we’re back to some perspective on the enemy pov through ||Mkoll’s excellent adventure||. Abnett does that very well. And I just love and am moved by any scene with ||Saint Sabbat||. I’m glad that she has not been overused.
Also it wasn’t a particularly cringe application but lmao at Abnett’s using “microaggression.” Already aged poorly.
Thats what it was thanks a million my friend must have misremembered
Happy to help.
So I got busy and haven't been able to listen much to silent king but about an hour in.
called the silent king
talks
GamesWokeshop strikes again
they could have made him use sign language more like gamesCHUDshop
thats the spectrum we operate on here
though spoilers ||since i hear he just gives a lame supervillain speech maybe they should have just kept him silent lol||
They’re transing the Necrons, Dilara. They’re transing the Necrons.
Btw what's up with all the arbites getting pushed into the spotlight recently
Feels like a dedicated push from the bigwigs
Hold on I need my foil hat
They are pushing arbites because the Amazon show is gonna feature them prominently, I have zero evidence for this but I swear
Speaking of Arbites, I'm currently reading Eisenhorn Malleus and it seems they are being used for common enforcer tasks. Was their lore only settled after this book was published?
remember that Eisenhorn is like over 15 years old
Arbites were basically treated as basic cops
its only by the release of Dark Heresy and years later recently that they got more solid revitalized lore
Careful. You were awfully close to a clad take with that sentence lmao
I am pretty sure scifi police brutality will go down, well especially given things in the US rn

Maybe he should be called the laconic king ||sike the only laconic king is Sgt. Joe Friday from dragnet||
Any fellow 60s tv reference enjoyers here
i love the interactions with sanguinius on his first meeting with the emperor and his legion
i see why people love him
very humble
Wow!! I didnt know hes so young in the books
ok actually
he might not be over 15 in realspace time you never know
he might have redone some years
Biomant psyker
Finished Above and Beyond
||"...He was my friend"||
When the last words of the novel are just a knife to my fucking heart
I TOLD YOU
also yeah im glad you now prob see this is why prob one of my favorite 40k novels ever
no space marines, no big epic battles, just people going against each other and layers upon layers of trauma-drama
The recurring narrative of the cost of both truth and lies, Simlex has his life ruined (and by extention Shard and Plients) by his attempt to tell the truth and then Plient and Shard have their lives ruined because they both lie to each other.
Plus when Shard has her breakdown and shouts at Simlex about how if he hadn't been an idiot and had listened to her about the Film, the three of them could have retired to some pleasure world.
Loved everything, really hope there's more on the way
Need another Shard novel
They better announce another one in the Livestream on Friday
That entire scene is what made me turn around on Shard
i think shes still a piece of shit but now at least I fully get why shes like this
Also I love how Denny Flowers wrote the reveal for what happened betweent the two of them after Outgunned, was half expecting a scene just showing us what happened, but the way he revealed what happened purely through drips and drabs in separate conversations to the point where I fully know what happened in that scene without it ever being directly quoted or shown.
Yeah again its just written SO well.
I dont really know how to really explain it lol
also the absolute jump the novel makes from its very basic premise/intro before it goes off the rails is just excellent
Natasay the far seer putting what's essentially Vaseline to deal with the stink of people makes me laugh
From the recommendation of Bricky, I bought my first 40k books :)
Good books
Wait how is that sniper man + boobsuit lady book by rath
Goddamn the infinite and divine cover is so ass
It’s peak
Read it
Rath writes good
is vaults of terra good cause i see there's an omnibus coming and might get
yea
Yeah its pretty good
