So real homie š
its like a job conditioning xD
get owned liberal that's what you get for reading horasy heresy
waaaa!
Based
its such a weird thing to include lol
and like-
hes just there???
He does nothing and leaves lmao
whos gonna tell him..
the ending
its gonna fucking hurt
Yeah Sanguinius dies
no
yes
the last line in the end and the death vol3 killed me
i cant listen to warhammer books still
What lol
||this has been my end and my death||
Is this the end and the death
Itās the end and the death
Who doesnāt like the end and the death

They had to include the cameo of fabius bile so in the next book then can show that fabius made another clone of horus
so the next heresy can happen
peak writing
Jesus Christ itās like Dilara hacked the MS and put this shit in there to troll me
And I had gotten to the last couple pages and was like āwell at least there isnāt⦠DAMN ITā
āBrother, alas that we live to see this The Horus Heresy: Siege of a Terra ā Era of Ruinā
nothing beats "this will be an empire unremembered" in guess which book
F
All jokes aside
Out of like all the stories I maybe only had 3 I actually liked.
The others are such "why is this a story"
These are giving Corax's book ending a run for it's money
||Mopes about in his tower for a while, then says "Nevermore" before pissing off to the warp||
NOOOOO
Also the funniest part about this is we got another book that references Poe

Gotta sneak the title credits in there like cinemasins lmao
Truely a goth girl queen
we are in M2
so
everyone in this era is a degenerate imo

isnt poe in M1?
thats M-20

Abnett PLZ
Not you too
(btw i like the uwu silent sister story, Dilara)
āI wish there was a book, maybe a book called THE HORUS HERESY: SIEGE OF TERRA ā SATURNINE, BY DAN ABNETTā
whats happening here?
I liked it minus the uh
HEY READER GET IT, THEY ARE READING BOOKS FOR ESCAPISM JUST LIKE YOU!
Thanks Abnett, very deep
Its a Sister of Silence helping a small band of imperial army defend a large book chamber they are trapped in from traitor waves
Sigh
no i mean the source of the "not you too"
oh lol
Yah I really liked the Silent Sister bits in Saturnine etc and I like this & I think Beta is my favorite 40K character
I guess I just like cold soulless people
Still on this one
boo!
Thats a tall ass sos
Frontal view and also everyone is crouching/sitting on the floor

Sheās standing on a rock
GW's tactical rockā¢
Krole scale tactical rock deployed
aw hell no
They just get better
So I've heard
And more importantly whatās her face just gets boobier
@tall phoenix only the Wraight story left
What you think so far

Like⦠whereās the rest of it
This would be fine as the first 1/3 of an anthology
Nothing so far is like egregiously bad as far as writing. Some of it is quite touching.
I like the Haley one and I like the Abnett one.
I donāt get the point of the admech one really
The first one w the blood angel is just likeā¦..
We already got this in the end and the death part whatever
I find it crazy we get no new info or hints or anything in the adb one considering MoM was a revelation a minute
Tell me something. Tell me the corpse on the chair is the size of a normal man. Something.
Yeah i think even if you liked or disliked it this should be a universal consensus imo.
the issue is it very much just explores nothing, you really get that feeling with some of these, the absolute worst i think is that Thorpe one where we just get the lion's gate port with an obliterator virus for some reason lol
I think my only favorite ones are the one with Katsuhiro because it actually somewhat explores post-siege terra and what the people are reduced to doing, even if he gets a freebie in the ending lol
Yeah I thought the ending would be darker but this is my fave
Dude
i legit expected him to die on that fencepost
it would be an extremely bold move, might have been what ive done personally
Yes same.
š¤
Yeah im sentimental i still liked it
though funnily enough the last short seems to have brought up the biggest fuss.
People are very mad at Diocletian's inner 3-page rant against guilliman with the primarchs crashout lmfao
Because hes hating on primarchs
something r40klore spends 24 hours circlejerking
Literal second top post
these mfers are obsessed

If you want the actual thread though here: https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/comments/1lgpaas/era_of_ruin_diocletian_being_uberbased_settling/
Its a goddamn saltmine
I love it
me on my way to check reddit
these guys are endless š
KEK
me on my way to the steam forums
I love it again
"NUH UH CUSTODIANS ARE ALWAYS ARROGANT"
this is like a batman fanboy tier debate
Diocletians your real fathers are out there giggling and spewing metaphysical bodily fluids in hell goes pretty hard itās true
š
Obv I hope itās never revealed that he did or didnāt make a pact
Unless itās something hilarious like Guilliman finds out he was the one promised to them as the Horus and big E was so mad bc they took Horus instead
āI made this one extra annoying so everyone would be glad when he fell!!! Damn it!!ā
He definitely did make some sort of pact
his soul was split everywhere š and thats not including the part he left in the warp you'd have to kill him to allow his sould to reconstitute itself in the sea of souls š
we just dont know what it is
His split was split between my ASS
those guys dont read or listen to books

emperor can do the splits confirmed
Ya I guess going theories are 1. Pact was that chaos would get some of the kids
And/or
- That in due time He would join them in the Game
not to change topics or anything but anyone into mass effect
should i kill kaidan or ashley?
No boring ass derivative universe
lol
Descent Freespace did it better
he prolly promised them half of his sons
but what they did know was that he changed which half they would get thats my theory
So cold
But in keeping with myth and legend
Sacrificing firstborn etc
like he prolly would have lost if dorn swapped with mortie and Gman swapped with angron
Actually the very near-eastern civilizations weāre supposed to believe heās from
Ashley.
SHES MID!
Were known for infant sacrifice
i fucking hate ashley but she has a family and kai is an orphan
Or at least offering of stillborns
THEN WHY EVEN ASK
lol
i dunno
Ass Effect š¤®
Ok the second one is pretty good
big
its like the only good one imo
also pre orders for this next week as well
Yeah finally, my trilogy of Ravenor's omnibus is finished ! š
!!!!
With Above and Beyond getting a reprint, I advise anyone who hasn't read it and Outgunned to do that
Kaiden is more annoying though.
Best girl is garrus though
Ez egy szek
What the fuck this stupid White Scars one is making me tear up
y
Because uhhhh
old woman
THE DREAM
OF UNITY
š š š¦ š¦ šæ
Itās just the whole tone and the goodbyes
Ahhhh I finished that one destroyed me š
Ok with this one there are a fair few stories in here I like
Ravenor is that you ?
Reading Hyperion by Simmons. At very beginning. Initial thoughts: nicely written, pretty good characters (though more like movie / show characters in that theyāre pretty ostentatious), kind slightly weird-future 40K vibes, lays it on real real thick with the Keats references.
jokes aside i remember it being an ok book
Itās like considered to be this GREAT WORK of sci fi
Seems good idk. I do think Dune is a great book.
New vet coat is EISENHORN'S
Boobyaa
Pre renegade/heretic eisenhorn tho
For some reason he went with gold and green color scheme in later years
Wat really
⦠guess Iām buyin cosmetic slop like a chump
Yah says gregor's coat, it's the same coat as in his model IMO
and it SUCKS that it's on the Vet and not the Psyker
I really like the first 2 hyperion books
It helps if you see them as structural references to the canterbury tales and like all the keats stuff
The back two books i like concepts from but not the actual story that much
isn't that kid from ravenor hyperion?
is there a way i can read parts of the era of ruin and not the whole thing
the carrion one by aaron seems to be good
||Of the Silent Sisterhood,
only Jenetia Krole exists, and she has yet to cut out her tongue. She stands
some way from the Emperor, sensed by all but seen by none. They know
she is here somewhere.||
so with the silent sisterhood
i've noticed that they aren't ever really seen
is that just blanks in general

since theres blank "levels" as well
Is bequin a superior blank
i just remember when reading pariah, deathrow spoke and said "because I can see you"
No shes a lower tier

she still unique ok?!!?!?
she said the words of bullshit without much damage and managed to remember one of them at some point!!!

hate the writer not the me
could Diocletian kill Roboute
do all the custodes hate the primarchs as much as him
any good 40k fanfictions?

trazyn x orikan
Emperor x Malcador
Lmao
Ok the blank tiers thing makes no sense. How can you be āmoreā soulless itās a binary
Tf that shit even mean
A soul is the warp reflection of a living material being.
Or the warp presence
It can be of varying⦠intensities? But itās either there or not.
Tf is an antisoul is there an antiwarp
There is a literal void that sucks in warp energy rather then a soul
It acts like a soul in all other ways
Sucks it into⦠what
Is it a supermassive immaterial object lmao
Like a material black hole but warp

Sucks and then spits it back out?
Who tf knows
Wait what r we talking about again š³
anyone have any good commissar recommendations? i've been reading gaunts ghosts, tried caine but the story was too jumpy. It felt like snippets of short stories more then an actual book
i couldnt find them when i was looking
What format were you looking for?
I know they released the omnibus in paperback recently.
Yarrick and Sevrina Raineās novels
Raine is very much a more ānormalā comissar
Which sets her apart from the other big comissars ironically
So she's a real bitch that gets shanked by her squad at the first opportunity?
I've seen a theme in 40k lore
No, which is why I put normal in quotes, sheās in reasonable territory but sheās not as nice as Gaunt or Caine. Sheās def more like yarrick in terms of uh, whatās the word. Being a hardass lol
She isnāt the I will kill you if you take one step back commissar but sheās closer to that style then any other of the big comissars but yarrick
Which I enjoy
Itās nice having a comissar who actually does comisssr things in the somewhat horrifying and evil manner that itās depicted as
Valedor is still pretty good can confirm
GW should stop fumbling Yriel
Gaunt cant shoot his soldiers they stopped making replacement sprues
Shouldnāt have made em outta nalwood
Stopped making the model but kept the datasheet, classic gw smh my head
I feel so bad for psykers š« in the book Iām reading now the squad has a sanctioned psyker and the poor guy does his best but everyone is so rude to him and abuses him and if he even talks out of turn the captain or commissar has his gun out of his holster
Oh he's pretty lucky
I know usually they end up much worse but still itās sad cuz the guy literally pushes himself so hard for the squad and he gets hated on and has to sleep in a tent away from everyone else
Yeah but that's the price of being a psyker
Unfortunate as it may be
Those guys are walking storms of energy
Itās established though that heās stable and very capable and has lived way longer than most other psykers in the militarum
And the other characters even have internal monologues where they reveal itās not that they think he might blow up at any time cuz heās proven to be reliable, but they just canāt reconcile themselves with his power and are disgusted by him
Just makes me sad
That's the unfortunate thing with the imperium you're different you're not with them
Hey at least take solace in the fact that he's in a much better
Position than the rest of his uh
Kindred
^
Its pretty hard to read for some folks due to that, same with how when you play Darktide the other characters will usually call you a "freak" like the zealots lmao
Listen liability
Is crazy work
Doesnāt help that theyāre all Cadians in the book lol
Including the psyker
But also makes darktide psykers seem like they have abnormal amounts of autonomy. Cuz like I said this psyker almost gets executed on multiple occasions just for trying to help by speaking his mind
And the captain actually pulls him aside and warns him that if it were anyone else he would be dead already
They really dont, you are given the mission and you most go out to do it. Also their autonomy largely comes from not being surrounded by tons of guardsmen and just other Inquisition operatives who despise them but somewhat know their value.
Oh they are not
Compared to the guy on the book
Darktide psykers are walking time bombs
I would assume darktide psykers are pretty locked up securely when not on a mission lol
Nah they roam free on the paradise where black ships take them
ive just finished the first Gaunts Ghosts omnibus recently, how good are the remaining ones? cause i love it and it slaps, but gonna read some other stuff before i come back to it
Quite good imo
He gets a very satisfying to read STFU moment though, even if it's not entirely his choice.
Third omnibus is when Dan Abnett changes from writing Gaunt's Ghosts for White Dwarf magazine as short stories to proper novel structure from looking at online forum discussion of the series.
Abnett's ghost and inquisition series are really good
Iām reading Eisenhorn omnibus right now
My first physical books were (and still are, unfortunately) the full omnibus of Ciaphas Cain
(the hero, savior and defender of the imperium)
I kinda want him to be name dropped in dakrtide
Or even shown
He was on the wrong side of the galaxy, I think
The Imperium seems to have a lot of those
Never off-duty, mind you
Technically my first book was Dreams of Unity but it was an Ebook
tbh
if he comes back from dying peacfully in bed I will be impressed
Can anyone possibly tell me why Amazon has HH novels in paperback for 10 bucks US but the hardbacks are TWO HUNDRED futhermucking dollars?
I mean
That's my real hook to 40k, except for necrons maybe
I don't like space marines, I don't like xenos
Astra Militarum? That's my shit
(although salamanders and blood ravens are cool)
My favorite era has few books. My favorite characters are almost unmentioned, yet without them, there Imperium would never have even came to be
I wish there were books about dark age
The Thunder Warriors need more lore
Big E did em dirty. The least GW could do is give us some fkin Unification Wars lore
Hardbacks were one time runs
GW has said they're never exploring it
and I do frankly agree
There's no point in exploring the Dark age of technology
And overall just more stuff about the 20th and 30th millennia
On one hand, yeah
On the other...
I don't want more about the past
I want more on the present
tbh
Like could it be interesting yeah
but also it serves 0 purpose
I just want to find out somehow Arik Taranis managed to stabalize himself and is still alive in the current setting
It'd be insanely unlikely, but a man can dream
I also kinda wish for the status quo to be shaken more often
Like, release the clone of Fulgrim, bring back Vulcan
Vulcan will return I think
Trazyn may let loose the Fulgrim clone at some point but I'm sure it'll be in the midst of some absolute shenangians
So you want another chaos fulgrim
have you read the bile books lol
the clone fulgrim
is just as fucked up
Vulkan will come back when GW wants
Clonegrim was also stated by the author of the bile trilogy as being a mistake from him because people literally missed the entire point of it
I want to see the reaction from Guilliman
I want them to have a confrontation
"its fulgrim, but he's still an evil prick"
they can do that with daemon fulgrim
Clonegrim served his purpose in the plot of biles trilogy and for biles character to develop
Like there is nothing that changes the status quo
of another fucking fulgrim running around
Also GW has changed the status quo pretty recently
Anyone else kinda pissed they retconned the story to shoehorn in Ollanius Persson to save Emps instead of just a normal human guardsman? I kinda am
Fulgrim is literally active again
Well, here's the thing, it was never clear who it was
that shielded the emperor
the story was contradictory even back then
I don't like perpetuals but its a very whatever retcon
I guess I just find the idea of a normal human being that bad ass
I do wonder
Will we ever see the death/rebirth or something else with the Emperor?
So is there a chance Ollanius is alive still in some form?
as in persson right?
Yeah
Tbh, a normal guardsman dying for the Emperor and keeping Ollanius for a later story makes more sense to me and has more impact
Ollanious got fuesed in mythology with another dude
which led to Ollanius Pious lol
Also GW did just fuse all the legends together lol
having Loken, the custodes dude I forgot and Ollanius
all protect the emperor
which I find funny
"they're all true now shut up"
Kill all the primarchs again.
Have Russ āreturnā but thereās a warp portal accident and itās just chunks of dog meat
I don't like primarchs coming back
unfortunately pandora's box is wide fucking open now

so too late now
lol
Are there other perpetuals
Alive?
uhh
One at least
the GK dude
who just exists to fucking die horribly most of the time he shows up lol
I saw a video about Vulcan that called him a perpetual too but I think they didn't mean it in the literal sense
Kinda think they meant it metaphorically
Vulkan is a perpetual
he cannot die via conventional means
he also hates the imperium
lol
Thank you war of the beast
what a god awful fucking series of novels you were
saying it should be burned is an insult to fire
Me
I am perpetually maligned and taken for granted on this channel where I provide so much wisdom
So you know the book Iām reading?
Cadian Blood
Oh yeah thatās the one. Iām not finished yet but liking it so far
True. You must be tired, especially since you always get consulted about your humility and selflessness....

I like how Cain doesnāt like it when people are mean to jurgen
Yes I am EXHAUSTED from doing The Work ty ty I feel seen
I wish there was more references to the gaming media in 40k books. Like the events of dawn of war, Titus, absurdly effective Malum Caedo
Maybe even Wolfer with his regiment
The gameplay of Boltgun def isnāt canon lol
Caedo is built different, but he is not built like that lmao
He is a named ultramarine character. He is built however the plot demandeth
they're boring
I cant remember where but something references idrick boreal's great dawn of war fuckups
Lmao he canonically lost five entire companies
Isnt that half a codex compliant chapter lol
Dawn of war 2 based on lexicanum i guess
It is lmao
its why the Chapter got crippled
also how the primaris reinforcements helped
The chapter was still fucked up from DoW2 and 3 when they got primaris reinforcements lol
Finally got the audio book to listen to at work
Oh boy here we go
Remember 2 b truly one of us u have to read all the shorts 2
Only on chapter 3. Definitely a lot of information to take in and keep up with but it is good
awful
Just finished reading the 2 Ufthak Blackhawk books and thoroughly enjoyed them. Definitely a great break from the āgrimā aspect of 40k and made me laugh out loud while reading them. Hope to get a 3rd novel soon!
I have good news
WOOOOAAAHHH! I meanā¦WAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!
Not a direct sequel but it's the same vibes
Still listening to Horus Rising. So far its good. I'll be interested in reading some legion books
One thing I will say is as you get to the second and third books of that trilogy the quality gets considerably worse
But you kind of have to finish the trilogy >_<
quality in the books or narration
Books
False gods and galaxy in flames are like
Ok at best
So fair warning don't expect those 2 books to be as good as Horus rising
This
Book 4 and 5 are better though
Then it's the wild ride of varying quality for 50 books
Imo they should've just let Abnett finish the trilogy
Though I haven't read much after that
And I haven't read any of Graham mcniels other 40k books so I don't know if he gets better
Re reading NL trilogy after finishing watchers of the throne rn
False gods is probably an outlier
Graham mcneil's book are better than this usually
I figured cause he's like written for a ton of other stuff before he did 40k right?
I think his league of legends stuff was before false gods
Which author was the one that just did a ton of boltor porn
And in the hh; fulgrim and mechanicum were better than false gods for sure
Havent read thousand sons yet
I heard fulgrim was one of the better primarch books
Theres many authors who do that
Is Ian Watson good? I only know about
Draco
Which is not fair to him considering it was like
One of the first 40k books ever
He's... weird? It's also OLD warhammer
^
His books are legit fascinating
id say you should read his Draco trilogy just to say you did
its definitely a fun journey lol
Read his stuff but keep in mind it's not relevant to modern lore
Imperial Fist initiation
his is the first 3 of that list
I've listened to enough podcasts about draco
I think I'm good
Coward.
I'm currently reading Lion: Son of the forest and it's better than thought it would be
I DONT WANT TO READ 50 PAGES OF DRACO FUCKONG A CALLIDUS ASSASSIN WHO CAN ONLY TURN INTO A GENESTEALER
Its hot
I really liked Lion
I legit do not understand people that dont like this book lol
Tbh modern 40k I think is in a good spot it's only older books I'm wary of
I thoufht it would be primarch slop
Like Guillimans novel I heard was super boring but I guess that's a fair trade off considering he's the most covered primarch ever
The older books are really not that much different from the ones we got now
Brooks deserves his credit on that one
Black Library has always been miss, mid, ok and great novel production wise.
I've only read brutal kunnin' from him
I think most modern primarch stuff is probably gonna be good
Everything I've read so far has been good but I've only read like
Godblight
Watchers of the throne
Uhhh is the NL trilogy modern?
Infinite and the divine
Are people hating on Son of the Forest?
Dark imperium is great imo and so is the lion book modern primarchs be pretty good
Lmao yeah when you start to venture out and explore more novels you'll see more of the shitty stuff.
I've read the first Cain omnibus back to back and I needed to purge my mind
Wolf time
NL is like years old
its from the mid 2000's
The novels are all the same
Dawn of fire
In fact, all the pages are the same
The tip is to avoid reading them back to back but imo thats shit, because like every single book is indeed the same thing, I actually hate it its so lazy.
Can't wait for the silent king tho
Renegade Harrow Master was actually good I was a bit hesitant towards an alpha legion book
Silent king is gonna be so fire
Every pages is the same lol
Rn I've been trying to read that weird translation of disco Elysium and I kinda quit
Harrowmaster is so fun man, Brooks knows how to cook. Im glad he put down so much of the dumbass alpha legion memes people spew
Assassinoriun kingmaker is great
Yes
I heard really really bad things about
The other alpha legion book though
šreally, i have that one in the backlog pile
Harrowmaster is great
Lmao what were those "things" I gotta hear this
to convince you
it has a bit where two Alphas are like
"Hey see that Hydra-cannon tank?"
"Yeah we should use it."
"Also lmao, its named Hydra, like our thing."
"Hehehe."
"Hehehe."

Love those dumbasses
CINEMA.
It was like I forget the book title but they weren't even acting like alpha legionnaires?
Acting like an alpha legionnaire is breaking the disguise of an alpha legionnaire
There's a moment where a bunch of alpha legion warbands meet and one of them takes off their helmet and does the whole "I am alpharius" bit and they go "not this shit again fuck off"
Based
And the protagonist admits that not even they know what alphariuses shitty plan was
Ok it's the next in line
And they kinda just dick around
Yeah its because people dont realise literally every single Alpha Legion cell does their own thing and are 95% traitors, this book does a great job of showing that and shattering the dumbass public perception the fandom built around them which has been wrong for like 20 years.
Then I might go back to the HH
Since i have to finish my self inflicted journey someday
If clad did it, I can do it
I love how one of the ALs also points at one of the warbands who says they are loyalist, and says "Yall mfers say you are loyal and do jackshit"
I think the book I'm talking about was sons of the hydra?
Nah its Harorwmaster
because I remember this bit
lmao
No no I mean the AL book that I was told is bad
I'm trying to find it
Anyone read angron the red angel?
Sons of Hydra is like a classic "nothing happens" novel
Is Legion good?
Got it cheap and idk if it's good
Ask Clad
DO NOT read it.
Its another fucking book of
- Named after primarch
- Literally barely appears in the book, doesnt even have a Chapter to himself and no POVs of any kind.
- Follows a boring World Eater trying to make the legion get the band back together but wowie it fails because Angron is braindead
- GK antagonists that take even more pages than the actual main faction of the book, they also say they are gonna kill Angron but wow I wonder what happens at the end of the novel.
Actual waste of time, up there with Fulgrim's book that also has these exact same tropes
Oh well; i will have to read it eventually because i have the copy but it's going bottom of the pile for now
It's very funny how the Fulgrim novel portrays the Black Templars as the chad and the Emperors Children as the soyjacks
Was it the world eater army release companion book?
Its hilarious.
like- the entire novel is also just so boring
"Well it makes sense for Fulgrim to not appear or do anything"
then why the fuck did I buy a book named after him
lol
NGL I don't envy me making a path all the way to the end and the death T_T
who knows
Oh hey big top burger
Fulgrim shows up and makes everything worse, and then barely does anything
Omg did you see the new eps
Oof big finale with over 60000 pages
hell yea dog
Every fulgrim moment ever
There's some cool moments but overall it's very boring, alas Jude Reid strikes again
Also tho I'm actually pretty excited for marine legions to basically be making a return
Tbf overall I liked Morvenn Vahl Spear of Faith so they get a pass for now
hiss
It's meta. To make you realise that EC can't feel shit anymore and they want anything to feel the barest emotion
It's passable, at least. Mostly for the Night Lords being total shitheads
My favorite part was uh
how a single heldrake contests an entire airspace
MOTHERFUCKER YOU GOT A FLEET OF SHIPS

Hell yeah
That heldrake woke up
Just use the gunships and nothing else
You can't beat heldrakes unless you do a pictograph puzzle thing
I need new sevatar books to come out
I guarantee if I re-read it and didn't glaze Kol Rakhul just grabbing a saint and crumping her instantly I wouldn't be so in favour of it but I refuse to do that
ABD please
rip stink lords
But he saidddd his story wasn't finished
That's most of the good series
Everything came out in 2010's and fell into limbo
one of the games of all time
say the granny line i'd get blocked
Best speed run rules
"Must sing the ending credits song or run does not count"
Is this shit actually good
OK currently listening to the audio book of this and i just heard the straight up funniest thing i have ever had in warhammer
it's pretty good so far
Nice
Grotsnick
Harry Myers
Denny Flowers
I'm in
you wanna know what was funny?
OK so a grot did this
Thatās crazy lol
yeah ||apparently this grot noticed that the groin hurts really bad when you stab it||
for humans
Ok but Iām asking you
Iām trying to think of something else thatās universally praised but actually ass but tbh the unwashed masses have pretty good taste
Im not a NL fan but they are very good books.
k will add 2 very end of queue
Night lords is genuinely good yer
remember they're the only good guys among chaos

Nah, blood gorgans are good too
Love how Above and Beyond shows how horrifying an Ogryn can be
People often forget those guys could break a tank with nothing but trusty pipe
Yea, it's briefly a horror movie when the Ogryn ||is ripping his own allies apart with his bare hands because the lights were off and he didn't realise they were friends||
Now that is horrific
I imagine he would be very sad whe he finds out
Nope
iirc he was fully aware of what hes doing, he just doesnt care
and his reaction was something akin to "damn that sucks lol"
Yea like he was told to protect the room, didn't specify against who
Also when I was first reading the scene I was half expecting it to be some Drukhari monster in that room, like a Grotesque or something.

I'm also really on edge because I've been reading the book during my breaks at work and during Lunch I thought "Oh I can quickly read one more chapter before I've got to get back" and then ||The Chapter ends with Shard's plane exploding and being presumed dead|| and I'm just sat there like I now have to stand up and get back to work with this revelation swimming in my head.
Id suggest waiting until you got some more free time after that bit
the book EXTREMELY picks up fast
you are basically entering Arc 3
Wait void exile already came out?!?!?
Curse black library how dare you release two books I really want in one month
Ooh a carcharadons novel
NGL I still find it interesting how daemons become part of their hosts when they possess them but they also still remain separate entities
Like with the exalted and vandred
Its classic exorcism stuff
its pretty basic in concept, the novels just kinda yapyap about it to make it seem deeper
The exalted explains to Talos why he wants to help him but I don't understand why that's his motivation aside from the fact that it's probably just because he absorbed vandreds psyche?
Yeahhh but it's kinda funny lol I wish there was more reasoning from a faction called chaos
Damn I'm almost at the end of blood reaver though, so excited to read the ending again
I'm almost done with outer dark and I guess buy another credit for void exile and then wait till next credit for silent king

Glad I saved my credit this month, void exile
Is credit just slang for money
Or is this like a webtoon situation where you can get tokens to redeem for books on some app
Audible
I've never tried audible before
Admittedly I always obtained books from
Um
The library
Yes
The black library
I'm lowkey malding about it, I just got into carcaradons only for the book to release when I already have a book lined up
Shout out to my buddy Shogo who just did some narration for Era of Ruin and also is narrating the new Carcharadons novel!!!!
Shogo has been in quite a few book lately
he narrated the earlier Carcharodon noves as well iirc
He's pretty good
Ironically I've not heard any cause I don't listen to audiobooks :V
I want him to do something for Darktide, that'd be cool
I did find it rather funny that once BL caught some flak about the caricature asian accent they did for the Scars, they hired someone asian to do it for them instead (Shogo)
@tall phoenix post the "whenever a BL audio book features White Scars" meme
real
he also does the same voice for young women and daemons
I should have listened
I TOLD YOU
Lol
This is getting out of hand, now there are two of them
I find it fucking hilarious because of how bad it sounds
Itās so bad
I say this quote way too often
Practically every time i increase a quantity from 1 to 2
||had just finished the chapter where Simlex shows Shard Plients video|| was holding back tears while working
What did george lucas mean by giving them this accent
The clip is from "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace".
no like genuinely what was the thought process behind that accent
actually nvm its because thailand did a bunch of fucking trading back in ancient times isn't it
goddamit
I mean George has had some laughably bad ideas with Star Wars lol
And also a real fetish for twi'leks
This still does not explain the other Nemoidians having a Japanese accent though
since only Nute has the really bad Thai accent
I feel like stupid + slightly racist is a good enough explanation no?
Classic george
Also the uh
Banking clan in the cartoons when I was a kid/teen
for star wars
looking back on it
they really just turned the fucking bankers
into a jewish stereotype
either that or I'm mildly racist for seeing that
Yeah thatās real lol
Bless Toby longworth truly but omg
Also I can't believe he Lucas wanted a sith lord named darth icky
the worst part is they didn't even have
the big nose in live action
THEY ADDED THOSE
like I know its CGI
but like

This looks like if Voldemort and a Raisin had a child and it got blasted by heat of the sun for five hours
Lmaoooo
Did they have the town from Borat employed as animators lmfao
āYes this is Jew alien very niceā š š
Bro really tho im listening to salvationās reach and it suddenly has a non longworth narrator and itās so jarring
Like the guy is doing his best but he makes Hark sound jolly(??)
Also the end of Blood Pact suddenly made me tear up twice damn it Abnett
And now this fucking book starts with our finding out that the operation is so difficult theyāre getting ||three Astartes||.
This is gonna be bad isnāt it
Iāve avoided spoiling myself
read it
Iām read reading Hyperion at same time ahhh I canāt add this to read reading list
George lucas be like
"This alien is named John Gorbnox and he runs a margaritaville on cloud city"
Desperately waiting for glup shitto's inevitable canonization
It all stems from the fact George Lucas is a massive bullshiter who will go into an interview and make up the dumbest shit on the spot and then act like it's well established and something he'd planned all along.
Like Obi Wan is from the planet Stewjon because he was being interviewed by John Stewart when asked about it and Admiral Motti's full name is Conan Antonio Motti because he was being interviewed by Conan Obrien when asked about it.
Star Wars is a very serious setting, with very serious canon
More power to him tbh good trolling
But yeah the bones of the Star Wars setting arenāt nearly robust enough to hold all the shit thatās been strung on em
40K is fundamentally different in that way somehow.
The British are just better writers / storytellers lol
Itās more measured, for all its absurdity.
Stupid coincidental shit can embe handwaved as THE WARP but is actually comparatively rare. Like Star Wars is completely full of stuff like the incredibly dumb āullanor secretly becomes Armageddon lololololā shit
The war of the beast is awful
Freakin' George Lucas rests on the laurels of Kershner and Marquand
and the war of the beast should be retconned 120%
Yea like the success of New Hope is more down to Marcia Lucas than George tbf
and marcia lucas yes
I'm not convinced George Lucas could pour water out of a boot with instructions written on the heel
He has creative ideas but hes by no means a genius.
he definitely fits the definition of a hackfraud pretty well in some regard
let me be a cynic, woman
IM LITERALLY AGREEING
But yeah he's fine with someone looking over his shoulder, he had Spielberg to bounce ideas with for a while
I bet it stung George that his wife won an Oscar for Star Wars and he didn't
it definitely did lol
Also yeah that was what i was thinking of in saying he sometimes has good ideas ala all the brainstorm sessions with Indiana Jones
He got too much of an ego as he got older, during the prequels he lied about Spielberg being involved to the rest of the crew, he would pass off his own ideas as if they'd came from Spielberg and he was just agreeing with them.
Or he'd pretend that Spielberg called in and was agreeing with him
guh
Lmfao
Like he'd genuinely convinced parts of the crew that Spielberg was actually directing, just through him to get them to stop questioning him
explains a lot honestly
Very funny guy
like even back in the first trilogy
the actors would outright tell him
"george this is fucking stupid"

Iām glad star wars exists the first three obviously changed pop culture a lot and gave lots of nerdy kids something of their own. Everything is fucking nerdy and weeby and quirk chungusy now so ppl forget how non-mainstream sci fi etc. were through like the mid 90s.
So canāt be too down on it or George Lucas.
But my god the franchise needs to be taken out back and shot
No dice when it still makes money.
They got what, five movies in the works? The only people excited are the ones who will clap for anything
š«”
Reminds me of another fandom

"I SAW A PRIMARCH AND I CLAPPED"
if theres anything i hate its warhammer fans acting like they are above SW fans in any capacity when they are both the exact same kind of nerd, i guess one has more nazis but thats kind of it
And immediately demanding another release
Lmao real
like we are at that similiar stage now
40k is going more mainstream and they are already complaining its "bad"
I know what I am
I love mechanicus slop
because uhhh women

Adeptus slopanichus
I am a person who enjoys imperium content
but I also enjoy like
Every faction in 40k
Except for the leagues of votaan
Itās the best, and worst, time to be in this hobby
Because they have no lore
Featuring Henry cavil, as a servitor
Thatād be wild!
Jokes aside at this point I just like seeing Chuds get mad
I wish to skin culture war grifters alive with a hacksaw though
In Minecraft
Mood.
In Minecraft
in the warhammers
It's a good thing I'm not in charge of the lore because I'd destroy several space marine chapters just to annoy people
Yknow, this puts me on a soapbox. Thereās so many new ācasualā 40k fans. So many people who know a little bit, but donāt truly appreciate the depth of the lore. They donāt read the books, play much tabletop, or heavily invest. I just hate to see it, even though itās to be expected. IMO itās more fun with a few diehard fans than with legions of folks who donāt REALLY care.
Iām not suggesting gatekeeping, never that, but itās just unfortunate that so many peopleās curiosity will end at the wiki page.
Itās good for the Reddit threads, tho
It's fine, it's the same old stale memes from 2006 and memelore that's the true enemy
I just want people to read the lexicanum and rulebooks
Thatās the only thing Iāll gatekeep about lol
Thatās my damn soap box lol
We're nearing 10 years of Yvrainne being reduced to Guillimans sideho and nothing else and I was so tired of it week 3
cough bricky
This is a huge thing yeah. They call tolerant people like us tourists when they are the tourists who do nothing but create discourse and try to gatekeep actual honest folks from joining the fandom
I just don't want a bunch of people who don't care about the property and actively wanna ruin it. Like look at what's happening to Velma it's my fears made manifest
Most of the big franchises have felt that, in some way. People come in trying to make it into something they like, rather than appreciating it for what it is. I jumped off the SW bandwagon because of that.
You kinda forget that Warhammer does inclusitivity better tho
2018/Gathering Storm era has been great
I joined only a few years ago so idk what it was like before then
every single miniature range was just
all male
same with artworks/books etc
True they r a problem. Iāve reported u at least 10 times 4 being a woman but thereās no true justice in the world
it was really one-note
š«” šŖ
Like
wrong, the pygmy era had coloured folk
to give you an idea
we still got people today
getting mad that some space marines have dark skin on their miniature reveals by GW
lol
It was him and Gadriel
because one is black and the other is asian
this is how bad this fandom is sometimes lol
Based
I honestly can't really recall anyone who's not lily white from 5th ed except for like, orks
You kinda need to look to notice lol
its a very running theme
especially when you compared to covers now where they try to make the range of characters a lot more diverse
I am ok w Asians in 40K as long as they r voiced by Toby Longworth & have Ineffable Oriental Wisdom
Yeah I get that and I'm all for representation. But I don't want people to come in who want to actively want to change what Warhammer about. It's supposed to be this dark setting with unimaginable cruelty. Everybody is equal in the fact that they are all suffering
I mean they wont.
GW does that job and they do it well.
so it doesnt really matter imo
True as I have said I am suffering bc women
Yeah speaking of that, we are in a fandom who get upset the moment they see a woman on screen
so the bar is pretty low lol
That's just cause they don't talk to you
Turning space marines into good guys, now that's tourism and why we need to destroy the salamanders and the lamenters
š
Iām 2 dashing & intimidating not my fault
Honestly I don't mind female custodes but I kinda dislike how gw handled the retcon. And I also despise the female custodes story they made to introduce them
Tfw it turns out places other than liverpool survived the unification wars
What story
Tithes? lol
Reminds of the SoS meme where āSisters are a reference to the fact that no male 40k fan has ever spoken to a womanā
The one where a custodes teleported a nuke into the throne room
(There was no retcon people just don't know what custodians are)
seriously
lol
I loved tithes
any custodian would have done that
There's no compatibility issues like with the gene seed procedure because custodians don't have a gene seed
like, what is there to hate on that one
its their job to poke holes in the security
she wasnt gonna blow up the emperor lol
And yeah lol before the rift maybe 95% of custodes content was wargames on terra
That was all they did back then
You'd think blocking against teleportation would be the basic defense in the palace else the traitors would of all just teleportedbinto the throne room 10k years ago
Yeahā¦
Especially how teleport jammers are a common ish thing
Honestly since teleportation is warp travel i can't rationalize it working at all anywhere near the throne lol
its important to remember
almost every codex excerpt like that usually falls apart when you think about it
theres a lot of ones like that just make no sense
ala for example a deathwatch killteam scouring an entire ive of hrud even tho Iron Warriors lost entire chapters trying the same thing in 30k lol
Iām looking for reason in an irrational ageš¤£
I just really do not like that story it's honestly one of the only stodes stories I actively dislike
Actually i guess despite the probable insane conditions in the warp around the emperor, all you have to do is aim through the warp directly at the astronomicon
And not get obliterated by the beacon itself
Well you're sending a bomb not a person
I imagine the throneroom is incredibly hostile to chaos though
Like the shadow in the warp but coming from one guy

Especially considering the emperor is leaky now compared to the good ol days
