Yeah I normally wouldnt joke but like I HATE that pointless "OMG HES DYING/DEAD!" thing they do in the last few Siege books.
like, we fucking know he isnt, stop it lmao
so that means Sanguinius can come back to us 🥹
You just need to keep reading 😔
😔
do we ever get to actually SEE Vulkan or is it all "he's there gaurding the gate"
You do see him in the End and the Gyatt a bit yeah
but like, its just
"OH NO WE ARE SCREWED, ITS ALL SO SAD, WE ARE GONNA PERISH!" as he stands around in the throne room
But don't you want to know more about the amazing adventures of JOHN GRAMMATICUS
Ignore the characters people like, we need more JOHN GRAMMATICUS
Where's the John Grammaticus trilogy? I'm waiting Dan.
I need ten more romantic subplots where John flirts with women 500 years his junior.
He died
He's busy watching malcador disintegrate while attempting to decide if he should blow up terra
Don't be so bold
John Grammaticus is the exact kind of annoying that can and will find a way to be brought back
He can't. Mainly because of the events leading up to what happens in vengeful spirit. His death becomes a fixed point in time and space that if disrupted or changed would instantly end the human race and the galaxy.
You could do books earlier in his time line when he was working with the cabal
But nothing beyond his actions at the end of the heresy
Stop jinxing it
The more you apply logic to him the more likely he is to find a way to thwart it
If you read the end and the death you'll understand
I have
I know about the time loop and the silly string chase
I'm just saying there is no in-universe logic, no matter how concrete, that can prevent John Grammaticus from having a non-zero chance of returning from the grave to continue being annoying
"There are no civilians on Krieg" - A Krieg novel, one hell of a book opening kek
Is it worth reading all the horus heresy books about modern characters who have their own series before reading these 40k books themselves?
Like reading all the HH books containing Ahriman and Fabius before reading their series for example
Not generally no.
They barely are the same people they are in modern 40k
also the curse of multiple authors writing them
Best you can do imo is just read their lexi-page then stop before it gets to the modern 40k segment then read their books, Ahriman is a big can of worms due to how complex/in-depth his book series is but Bile is way more easier to understand
I already know pretty much all the lore, I just feel like I should read the books to better know the characters personalities
But then theres the whole issue with multiple authors so im not sure how consistent the characters are
You really arent missing much still.
They go from optimistic to evil between like a single book lmao
Bile has also always been sus so his switch is like basically nothing.
and it's basically almost 100% marines
you need to stomach reading that character type over and over again
yeah so many are so similar
I cant wait to be done with the horus heresy
currently finishing wolfsbane
gonna read the buried dagger, then siege of terra, and be done
It's never worth reading the Horus Heresy in order to understand 40k
Bile is his own kind of sus
It's not blatant shit like erebus
I just read it to understand the characters
Like Dilara said, they really change in personality
And besides traitor dudes who spent "10k years" in the eye of terror, they're all dead
And traitor dudes changed a lot since the heresy
^
I've recently started reading Ushorans novel and I'd like to amend the common statement "There are no goods guys in Warhammer"
There is one good guy in Warhammer and it's Ushoran.
I should get that one as well, waiting for a few reviews if it's any good
There is a scene in the prologue where he is supposed to be meeting one of his Lords at a Feast but he hasn't showed up to the meeting, so Ushoran is just sitting there thinking
||"I pray that Lord Grizzlerend's failfure to meet me here is just some foolish absentmindedness, even an open challenge to my cause. I would welcome either carelessness or treachery over the notion that my people suffer as I am distracted by revels and amusements. What King, put to the test, could want otherwise?"||
I love him so much
This sounds exactly like what I hoped it would be like
AND the best thing about the aduiobook, it's narrated by Richard Reed (GOAT)
he does have multiple personalities yes?
is that reflected in the book
From the lore he does experience bouts of madness and sometimes breaks out of his own delusion, but so far the chapters I've read have either been humans seeing Ghouls as ghouls or from the Ghouls perspective describing how they see it.
So the feast in this chapter is just described from the Ghoul perspective, so it's filled with ornate goblets, finery and the Ghouls all talking to eachother with elegant prose.
yeah he has a bad case of mentally insane
his personality can flip in any moment
Like he's just such a nice guy that his thought process is "God I hope he's just betrayed me and isn't in trouble or anything"
We also get a description of him from the Ghouls perspective of him as a handsome King 3x as tall as everyone else
"With a larger skull for larger thoughts"
I love the fact that like lore wise if you're not soul bound
Only literally two people
In the fec regularly break the illusions
Bro is literally the god king the man in charge
Honestly tracks even with the different personalities
Cuz 100 shamans in trench coat
Yeah think I'll have to get Ushoran after I've finished with my current Gaunt's book
Finished Warhawk, will start Echoes of Eternity soon
Lets gooo
get ready for kino

other than the lost and the damned, i've enjoyed the series
Mortis was nowhere near as bad as others made it out to be
maybe i just like the dynamic in titan/knight houses
Mortis had Legio Sinister, that in itself was a win.
Made progress with Ushoran, still peak
i have since Assassinorum kingmaker
when they appeared i was like "who is this and why do they work so closely with the emperor"
they're just a titan legion made of blanks right?
Titanified psyker-hax.
Special ordered null-piloted psy-titans yeah
they barely got any appearances minus a rulebook and this
There's a short story of one of their Titans fighting in the Secret War in the Webway. They operate completely differently than normal titan legios.
they added a nice hype to their appearance, i was 👀 when they showed up
Bold of you to assume people read those

what is the webway btw
Ushorans foil in the novel being a gallant looking Noble who everyone believes to be a great guy, but who's really a bit of an ass is peak
i know magnus did something to it that upset the emperor
The Webway is a labyrinthine dimension utilised by the Eldar for faster-than-light travel.

so that's why he sits on the throne

when reading the SoT, they said Vulkan is guarding the webway. Does that mean he's standing by the throne?
thats Big E's job
I started the Bequin novels. The first book takes a long ass time to get going
Only fitting, considering how long Abnett takes to write them. Nine years between Pariah and Penitent, four years and counting for Pandemonium.
i think its more theyre waiting for other plotlines to catch up
they made that mistake too many times in horus heresy
why should i care about weapon X,Y,Z i know theyll have zero impact in 40k because they dont exist in 40k
No its because Abnett is extremely busy
He has tons of other shit to do/write besides 40k
hes a very popular author in some circles and is a well known name
I wonder if he get burnt out writing the umpteenth 40k story about some guy with no helmet and a name
He very much does ye
he says a bit on the ending afterwords of End and the Deaf
shit like "If it wasnt for my wife supporting me id have probably burnt myself from writing this book for 3 years"

Christ
I hope he has personal projects he can indulge in as a break from Warhammer
RPing on another server right now and I find it hard to just figure out if anything Im writing is in character for my OC lmao
Bro for real
I mocked George Martin for not being able to write a book for years meanwhile I cant write a 1k word homebrew thing and keep telling myself ill do it next day, week, month, etc

"Is this meta-knowledge? Would she do this? She comes from a poor family with sick parents, so she would know a thing or two about potions and medicines that they took, right?"
That kinda shit
LMAO yea
Ive written one short story and that was years ago
Still proud of that one, 6.3k words
Its not great though
Mood. 💀
I really REALLY wanted to write something else but bruh I gotta be in a certain mood
Yeah otherwise you cant get the ball rolling
Mhmmm
AND EVEN THEN I gotta keep in mind of all that "Is this in character for her to say or am I just speaking for her?" shit
Burnout and writer's block is real
Real
I wanted to make a bunch of short stories about this stupid short ass irish girl who rides on top of a bear and they dick around in a generic fantasy world but turns out when the subject matter is REALLY annoying, people generally dont remember them well
I had another one cooking a long while ago, where it was from the POV of some merchant selling a gun to a guy in a lighthouse, and said lighthouse guy was going to go off about how he was keeping track of a storm that was coming down from the mainland towards his lil town, and its just that Irish girl and her bear dicking around and beating the shit out of everything
key word is shit
maybe he would burn out slower if he wouldnt write 2 chapters of slop in every book
Shut the fuck up you obese whale-o-don.
nononono you dont get it kasper hauser having bad dreams for an entire chapter is essential to the plot
i bet you LOVED reading about fo making a super space marine killing super weapon
I did because hes a fun character.
Also the aspect of genociding astartes is chad behavior

I MEAN
yeah it was okay
and where is said space marine genocide?
do i really have to hear about some meme weapon that i KNOW doesnt get made
"Fo we will retcon you if you release the weapon"
🙄
Ive had an idea to write a novel about a modern boy in modern day germany being forced on a school trip, visiting an old castle, where, using some magical means ive yet to figure out, it turns about that the next day he wakes up in the body of his ancestor who used to be a noble page while his ancestor wakes up in his and needs to figure out puberty and school in 21st century. But i havent figured out yet how to start
Maybe start him on the bus and reminiscent the previous events that lead up to the trip
Noted
There's also the "Start at the noble bit, then go backwards" but that feels too much like a record freeze moment
wakes up getting screamed at by his mom to have breakfast
Also if anyone wants to read that first story I wrote, I can DM you, but I dont guarantee that its good
You will CRINGE, you will CRY, and you will SHIT your pants
Also, ive no idea how to write novels since the only thing ive written so far is historical essays and analysis (because i have a Masters and Bachelors in History). But ive never written any Epic/fiction before so thats gonna be fun to figure out
I am willing to bet that experience is not unique to the 21st century

Noted. Maybe later
Id recommend learning to roleplay a bit first to get the idea of how to be inside someone's head, and maybe learn to DM or watch someone DM and see how they may describe things that the players may experience in a TTRPG. Its a different format, yeah, but similar ideas in terms of description and how characters bounce off another.
Also just read some fantasy/fictional novels lmao. You can pick up some ideas that you like, some that you dont, etc
I admit maybe I should read more in general
"I'd rather kill myself then live in a galaxy where you exist"
Fo my GOAT for saying that tbh
Having a "I'm gonna fucking do it" -guy in the epic that is Horus Heresy is very important and great
^
Hes so fucking funny dude
wait I just realized
the dude he killed called Xanthus
is that the same fucking dude who got incinerated by the Inqusition
and founded the Radical inqusitor like philosphy
Yeah he is
one of the weirdest parts of the book
because he is burned on a pyre lol
I missed it the first time around too
I love it because hes absolutely unhinged yet even he knows the Emperor is a numbskull
I mean
The Emperors plan is
the more you think about it
fucking batshit insane
and stupid
Manifest Destiny ahhh
U got a prob w that, Ottoman?
Yeah, its stupid.
I dont even like Ottomans too lmao

Lol
Empire good. Hunter gatherer existence is boring.
"omagerd they lasted for 102393 years"
Cool, they still fell

It was probably the woke media of the era
We are literally Rome
Ok based I can at least respect this pov.
We really arent.
also im not hearing this from the guy who literally defended eugenics like a few months ago
😭
Caesar's legion fan ass
Tf I did not defend eugenics
In the traditional sense of whatever people were doing with their little societies
But eugenics as in selecting against genetic disorders and being picky with mate selection
Is something people just do.
Like it’s covered by insurance.
And now we’re entering CRISPR world https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/infant-rare-incurable-disease-first-successfully-receive-personalized-gene-therapy-treatment
Though to be heritable it has to be delivered to germ cells.
(about which I have really mixed feelings but it’s here)
Empire leaves infrastructure behind. And systems of law and education etc. See: India. I am glad it’s independent but we also are aware that its existence as a nation owes in part to unification under the Mughals (cringe) and the British (sort of based but also cringe).
While I get physical traits as us being picky, us doing this I feel will make our species as a whole more homogenous, which may be good for organ transplants, isn't good if we get caught by a disease
I agree.
It is still happening.
Okay but we still grow further from that and just do our own thing, what they leave doesnt mean much compared to half the other shit they do.

There are definitely positive traits being selected against. On the other hand, “good” genes are broadly pleiotropic
its also just a really cringe slippery historical slope with people like romanaboos or angloboos
Physical prowess tends to correlate with intellectual etc etc. Still not always and it’s so complicated.
But yes I worry about various kinds of homogenization
Ya valid view tbh.
Statue pfp users ruin everything.
what else is new
have you ever said cheers?
thanks rome
No saying “cheers” is illegal in America along with “cheeky” and “loo”
I love the irony that the most unhinged, illogical ideas will come from these statue PFP users, who think the days of the past is where logic and harmony reside
Classical Western thinkers produced beautiful, thoughtful work. Some of the greatest stuff ever made by humanity.
But they were pretty engaged in the present. They weren’t really traditionalists.
I mean a lot of their stuff is universal
But point is they def would have been annoyed by the equivalent of the statue pfps
Also the postmodernists probably but that’s a different can o worms
Republic is pretty fucking radical / progressive
Statue pfp users tend to also like
focus on the worst parts of older societies
"Yes we should definitely throw mutated/disabled kids off cliffs"
"Actually genocide IS good"

"Anyway so heres my thoughts on black-"
they're nazi propaganda accounts, simple as
"The Spartans were really freaking cool and I love their aesthetic. The same with Crusades-era Catholicism. We should strive to be the best of both and take from both cultures!"
some of them don't even realize that which is either funny or really sad
They’re deliberately contrarian
I feel like we dilute the horrors of the Holocaust by labeling everything and its dog Nazi but there just me
Id agree but alas seeing how the world is changing now I can't say much lol
Yeah I’m not gonna push on that
I don't think you're wrong on that; I think there's a few folks that ABSOLUTELY hyper focus on the smallest details and scream nazi. However, I feel now is a good time to call out anything that is genuinely associated with that think.
I’m married to one of the tribe but I’m not of it so I can’t speak to the issue that directly.
One of the more horrifying recent social media phenomena has been the unholy union of left wing and right wing antisemitism
You hate to see it
That's awful
And the youngest Holocaust survivors are like 90 now. I think there will be a profound shift when there are no longer voices to convey the living memory.
Anyway.
If I had to guess it’s because everyone hates Israel

I would say that European left-wing antisemitism in particular is of a much, much older vintage. With all the more recent crap layered on.
American right wing is often a set of conspiracy theories about some liberal new world order with Jews holding the puppet strings.
ur saying a lot of words
the majority of israelis were in the IDF
now were getting flooded with israelis destroying medical equipment, leaving boobie traps, destroying private property, stealing jewelry all from houses they didnt have to bomb
There's no doubt that left wing anti-semitism exists, but I'm afraid alot of valid criticism against zionism and the state of Israel is unfairly lumped in with anti-semitism
besides by definition arabs are Semitic too even the word itself speaks to a jewish tendency to manufacture guilt
It’s all liberalisms fault
I on the flip side have seen a lot of antisemitism couched as political criticism. But anyway.
Ye as is the cushy first world life we all live.
Apologies to the one guy playing Darktide with his goat on a hand-cranked potato
(Goats only play knife zealot)
Capitalism will uplift u soon 🐐
(It won’t)
😡
😝
one week to release
No shit ahhhhh
I am legit so excited for this one

Probably dumb question, but is this the aftermath of
"mY kInG of aGEs vol. I-III"?
Probably
It is.
Like uh, right after.
just various short stories to act as a wrap-up
so thankfully not really a full-lenght novel
Thx.
Will you please let me know If it is skipable once you read it?
Is it an anthology of the siege books or a continuation after the death and the end?
Ok I just googled it. Its an anthology of short stories after the death of Horus.
I wonder if they'll do a proper Scouring series.
Pls dont lest we have to listen to clads hate-reading takes about another 20-40 books....
They did my boy Roboute dirty in the Siege of Terra books
Sure thing
thats usually the best part with anthologies
equal amount of bad as good (mostly)
if they do I hope its shorter then War of the beast lol
That was such a confused mess.
i hope they fucking tell us what happened with ingo pech or valdor
they went out to get cigarettes
😡
look at miss big picture over here
no respect for the little guys that make her stories POP
but the code words THE CODE WORDS HAD MEANING N SHIT
tbh tho after finishing hh I really dont get the hate for johnG he wasnt bad i enjoyed his bits the story
he's fine
the takes keep piling up
🚬
You know im just gonna end up making a new account and giving the same takes to bust you people
Ur spouting these good takes and most of them originate in Legion lmao
Also I read Starship Troopers when I was in middle school and now I’m listening to it and it’s so good.
all my takes are very based and very correct
[loud incorrect buzzer noise]
If your takes are right then Abaddon works at the soup kitchen and works to provide the lonely class of the imperium with education and wellbeing
i have zero takes about abaddon
I have to read black legion first
clearly fake
Ya he gets better
Just finished Gaunt's Ghosts - Only in Death. What a book, probably my favourite of the series as of yet
Ahhhhh I gotta get back to the Ghosts
how far have you gotten
So you gonna read ushoran the mortarch of clad?
Oh you'll behaving Traitor General next, that and His Last Command are both fucking excellent
Maybe, either that or Requiem Infernal
I see
Wait I did traitor general
So it’s his last command I guess
Traitor general was amazing
too many books!!!
Best link for complete gaubts order inc all shorts??
just google reddit has the list
I know but they differ in completion and I was wondering re go to
Just go by the order they're released
only in death is greatt
Hope you enjoy
Where's a good place to get started in learning 40k lore?
Check out the pins, there's a guide in there
As a whole? Youtube, tbh. 40k is VAST and some of it isn't actually that easy to access
But if you want to read some good books, theres a list in the pinned section, should cover the basics.
Some common recommendations:
Eisenhorn/Ravenor/Bequin novel series by Dan Abnett
Gaunt's Ghosts by Dan Abnett
Ciaphas Cain by Sandy Mitchell
Anything by Aaron Dembski- Boden
I FUCKING LOVE WARHAMMER AUDIBLE RAAAAGH
Infinite and the divine, Gaunts ghosts, Cain, and Gotrek and Felix all have great narrators
Eh
It’s not even that impressive they’re just British
Easy mode
(Not contesting it’s an S tier accent)
I face systemic oppression every day with my flat Midwestern drone
Depends on what faction you want to dig into, if you want a bunch of baseline lore a factions 8e codex is good. If you want novels then it depends. The list in pins is pretty good
This is a reminder that GW has cool shit like Imperial Knights and Assassins yet chooses to write more space marine books
Assasinorum kingmaker sequel when
Someone explain to me the Audible sale for HH going on
site too haggard, nothing shows on sale
except this specific thing
Bolter goes brrrrr.
ceramite supremacy
Ave Dominus nox 🦇
Wiggles Kurze' decapitated head in your general direction
Jokes on you im into that shit
Any of these shorts from this collection make it worth picking up? https://www.audible.com/pd/Endless-War-Audiobook/B09M8Y6GDZ?eac_link=iUf7ZLSFHdoD&ref=web_search_eac_asin_1&eac_selected_type=asin&eac_selected=B09M8Y6GDZ&qid=N95FG4vSrH&eac_id=131-9370335-9951659_N95FG4vSrH&sr=1-1
Check out this great listen on Audible.com. A Horus Heresy audio drama collection. These stories will transport you to the heart-breaking internecine conflict known as the Horus Heresy. Each one of these audio dramas is a stirring tale of a long, vicious war that rages on into the 41st Millennium....
Has anyone read the Horusian wars books? I’m currently on the second one and I seem to find the retinue much more interesting than Covenant. I do like the explanation for inquisition secs, but oy vey the plot seems generic and relies on obvious twists. Maybe I need to reread.
what do you guys think?
That is kinda the point yeah, Covenant is more of a "force" or "presence" in the book, the retinue are purposefully explored more compared to him since hes this daunting Puritan Inquisitor with a intimidating aura
the plot though nah its very generic, theres a reason while the series had good ideas it kinda got buried in later mid 2000's 40k media
People joke about the Avatar of Khaine getting his ass kicked at every available opportunity. But nothing gets bodied as much as Space Marine Terminators.
Every novel I read, they're either background characters or used to setup some special troop/protagonist/antagonist. Loyalist and Chaos alike
The problem is one is a demi-god of war
the other is just a elite troop choice
lol
cant wait to be angry about this in 10 years when i finally make it to 40k
You never will if I have anything to say about it.
i will bitch about greyfax and you cant stop me
oh god dont remind me
"why is an Inquisitor being an Inquisitor" ahh question
bro CANNOT lore

no
Well they're both getting the full Worf effect
Thats just the rule of 40k
so you better get used to it
I mean this guy doesn't read one of the most trustworthy sources of lore for 40k that being rule books
my point was an inquisitor should have had a more tangible reaction to being on a ship crossing the webway with an imperial daemon, an eldar, and eldari god avatar and some 12k year old heretical <banned word> tech priest
Desperate times call for desperate measures
you'd know this if you like
you know
actually read the passage
no
my warhammer podcasters said it was bad
Now stop whinging.
and when a warhammerpodcaster says something I LISTEN AND BELIEVE
I genuinely think clad fits the mortarch of delusion title more than Ushoran
its still there
Not only is bro illiterate hes also seeing things.
This is getting tragic

Also radical inquisitors in general be wilding
Shout out to calcazar for trying to use a ctan shard because an ordo xenos apparently doesnt know why thats a bad idea.

Also ordo xenos working with drukhari to steal suns
woah spoilers
🚬 welcome to books were people are allergic to spoilers
hey theres a cool older warhammer book i wanna read
oh you mean the one where "the literal big reveal at the end" happens?
Idk why but I played rt blind and the second I saw calcazar I thought "this mf is sussy af"
Chapter 3 really made it obvious
Yeah its always obvious tbh
idk why people act like him being a suslord is a spoiler
lmao
I was more shocked by the argenta thing tbh
THAT is a much better twist

||true ending is the genestealer ending btw no cap||
Ushoran book is so peak, the choice of POV characters is great, Ushoran despite being a horrific monster being the perfect embodiment of nobility and what it means to lead and protect his people, while his foil is a guy who seems like the ideal King but is actually a horrible and selfish tyrant.
Tf is the imperium always working with these degenerates
Isn’t “the real monster isn’t the actual monster but the handsome upstanding-seeming guy” kinda played out tho
Just listening to the audio book it is f****** amazing
Look our suffering is for The Throne ok
He asks it of us and it is a light burden ok
It’s not in any way sadism or masochism like with the filthy xenos ok
It’s holy and theirs is profane ok
Couldn’t be less similar
No like it’s easy to contact them compared to other xenos lol
And negotiate
Now granted what they want is usually horrifying
But the inqusition is more then willing to pay often
No because the monster is also still a monster
i just realized
one character saying random fucking words in non standard english
dan abnett being the writer of this game 😭
Seems like normal English to me wat
Wheres my hot bodyglove people dan

Even where there is wealth people still shit their pants
ok morrow
what did you read then?
🤔 why did you specify 40k then
Because its the only material I read
saying i havent read a single book in a month is easier
i dont believe u
ur ashamed of what you read

False. She is ashamed of reading you 😘

if someone says scholam is standard english
i will recite the entirety of decent of the angels from memory
Scholam is standard English
😡
C’est vrai
French is standard English
Me when I discover literary
dont let them gaslight you @safe plover ordure is a rare ass word
*Very upset German noises #neverforgiveversailles 😤
i am ungaslightable
It's not about rare words but getting upset about the usage of rare words
German is NOT standard English
😡 they should only be used in palces where the meaning could be guessed with context
unironically fallout 4 did a better job with curie's french
using random archaic or latin words seems part of warhammer's aesthetic or whatever
its mostly dan abnett's style otherwirse theres a set of words that they use frequently
"Oh no I had to look up something I didn't understand and learned something new, such dire existence"
oubliette, tertiary etc
i listen to books and play video games to not learn things
Weak
🙄 i have finals next week
Get learning then
It used to be that way. 8-11th century the languages were nearly identical. Then, the vikings came and messed things up a little bit until the normans came and RUINED EVERYTHING, like the french usually do
Good luck
Just randomly got to the "I heard you do weird things to your legion" part of Scars, what an incredible book haha

These aren’t particularly rare words wtf
oubliette is definitely a rare word
We hitting the word counts with this one
mainly because it's such a specific thing
🗣️
Oubliette is one of those words that’s lovely to say.
can you honostly tell me that if it wasnt for warhammer you would know the word and use it?
ikr i love it
Its up there with buboe and buoy for me
i love it when swagger says it
I am also a fan of the word ‘susurration’
Bubebolos being Tamurkhans toad dragon's name is peak
gorget is straight up used more
Because an oubliette is a very specific form of prison
as ever, stop whinging
🗣️
shut up!
no
You know convincing him is the equivalent of trying to convince abaddon to give someone who is starving untainted soup right?
Imagine being upset about learning new words
Bro cannot read
a magnitude less
Clad only read reddit before 40k books so he knows like 15 words
clad derangement syndrome is taking effect
what derangement
i mean what she is saying is true because you cannot shut up
soon you'll all be forced to take more and more ludicrous positions just to disagree with me
Yeah I inject soup into my veins.
lentil soup?
that explains why you are so cranky
no blood in there just pure cow broth
without the soup she would have banned everyone on the discord
Enquiring minds demand to know what manner of soup.
if it's tomato soup all your prior sins will be forgiven
Yoğurt soup
what
does it have rice?
is it like sahlab?
What makes it soup and not just yogurt? 🤔
Depends, some do some dont
also
ingridients, fully liquid among other things
its like asking "how is it tomato soup and not just tomatoes"
i'm asking if the one your eating has rice
every single dish has this on its wiki page "specially in the cuisines of the former Byzantines and Ottoman, notably in the Levant"
we have the same culture dawg
Most yogurts are already liquid though
Takes it a bit more to turn tomatoes into a liquid
Not hating, just curious
not true
The spanish might disagree
that's like kisel or kissel
thats jello this is soup
I mean no, most are like a sludge

DUDE do not compare yoghurt to sludge
what the fuck
😡
im sure thats a crime in turkey
That's.... One way to describe yogurt I guess
Cow titty sludge
IT ISNT TOHUGH
"noun
Semisolid material such as the type precipitated by sewage treatment.
Mud, mire, or ooze covering the ground or forming a deposit, as on a riverbed.
Finely broken or half-formed ice on a body of water, especially the sea."
NO
STOP
i'm just messing with you
Fermented shlop
i'm just a psychopath that drinks yogurt
haha owned
yogurt can be drinkable as well, it's not as watery as ayran
and sour
anyways, the best thing to come out of Turkey is the Turkish Yogurt
based hairy man
this or greek yogurt
i like greek yogurts more because they tend to be more sour which i like more
greek yogurt mixed with honey and blueberries
what do you think hummus is made with? what do you think its covered with?
i swear white people would rather cook with with industrial lubricants than olive oil
"m-muh smoke point"
steel has a smoke point of like 3000c doent mean im gonna eat it
I use olive oil to almost everything I cook, mixing it into yogurt just seems like a bad idea
its yummy
didn't white people probably fucking invent it
drizzle a little bit on some
the british also started wars over spices look at them now

also the first olive presses were in the middle east
We are keeping the spices in a safe place (away from the food)
dry up some paprika and grind it into powder NOW
Sure, I'll just run down the road and find some in our wonderful climate
thank u
Sometimes I almost laugh at Clad's takes.
They're similar to atrocities where your brain cannot comprehend the full horror, just gives up, and you come out with that awkward laugh to comment on the situation.
LMAO
Clad is the closest thing I have ever seen to Nietzsches übermensch 🫡
CDS
…. Yes.
All of the words you mentioned.
and someone who likes pre 1900s books is representitive of the average person
Yes
this dude has a slumdog millionaire esq story for every word hes known and is trying to tell me thats normal
The Bible is a pre 1900 book
🙄
actually
theyre scrolls/letters
none of them meet the technical definition of book
My kindle files are still books
i am going to superglue the charging port of your kindle
i already have 10 years in magistrati oubliette
Clad truly is the take giver we deserve tbh
I love this discord lmao
Clad's mundane reign of terror will end one day
Nooo may it be… dare I say…
not until i destroy all the sanity in your minds
He balances this chat
Eternal
even in death ill still serve o7
concrete shoes are a waste i cant swim
Drain his lungs of air beforehand
you can not kill me in a way that matters

maybe using some abaddon methods would work try stapling someone whos takes i really hate to my back
seriously sewing a blank to a grey knight was horrible and amazing
Perpetual motion machine
Human blankipede
Damn, the crime audio books are pretty pricey.
Audiobooks in general are unfortunately
Bold of you to assume that their still is any left to destroy
How could I refuse such a handsome man? 😂
As you wish
Is the grotsnik book out yet? I’m dying for ork content
Even though it’s gonna be a pointless mguffin quest
How can u be thinking about some ork when we have THE END OF THE SIEGE OF TERRA THE END AND THE DEATH PART III: PART I: THE DEATH OF THE END
Anthology coming
If I see one more siege of terra book I will riot
But is it the end and the death
They should have a whole book of horus' soul traveling through time and space
To eventually posess a dude in ancient egypt who wrote the og prophecy
For me
The fact that the siege of terra series, which itself was the closing chapter of the Horus Heresy, had a finale Trilogy, is utterly hilarious and perfectly presents the bloat of the material.
Also it still felt rushed
Lol
Yeah thats the really hilarious part
And somehow still not enough time to develop the plot
Kyme did a terrible job
As an editor
For telling Abnett to write as much as he wanted
💀
I bet GW meddling didnt help either
I mean
What meddling
As far as we know it was literally just Abnett and Kyme
From both Kyme and Abnett
"Add a part that mentions this new unit we are releasing"
If Kyme had done his job end and the death prolly would have been much less
Chaotic
They literally don’t have that
In that book
Feels like that a lot of times tho
Unless you count Samus, but Samus was already a mini
Which one, 1 2 or 3
Lol
That’s just a case of them wanting you to point and soyjack because character mentioned
Yeah
Rather then product placement
Oh my god the worlds oldest man ollanius pious showed up
It’s like Desolaters showing up in the new Exorcists book, they mention the name and that’s it
Thats the intention at least. Some soyjack with glasses cooming over the mention of some BADARSE in a youtube short or lore tiktok
The PRIMARIS INCEPTORS WITH THEIR BOLT STORM WHATEVER
DESCEND WITH THEIR PRIMARIS JUMPPACKS
Okay I’m done
Dark imperium is probably the least ass edition start product placement book GW has made
Wow thank got I had krieg calvalry with explosive lance supporting me
Heh yeah that was so jarring.
Having to be told 4 times how great the Primaris vehicles are
Which isn’t saying a lot
Lol
Because holy fuck
Leviathan, the 7e and 6e one and the 9e one
Are all so fucking awful
And the 7e book was free
💀
So when is the saturnine praetor book coming out
But you gotta admit, that is GW meddling/product placement
Since he is primarch tier
For dark imperium yeah def
Its really obvious when it happens too
For end and the death I don’t think so
The worst part is
GW can do subtle product placement
It’s just that sometimes the books just
don’t
Well, only for lack of relevant models to peddle
And then you get shit like that
Cant think of any in the grey knights omnibus
Well, point and soyjack is a classic comic thing imo
Other than them glazing the weapons
They mention grey knight paladins and such by name, and nemesis force weapons
Which is like
Product placement
But it’s natural lol
But is normal
And only in the first book
But they also can be super ass about it
There were 2 more
Third had no product placement
It’s been years since I’ve read it
Sometimes entire books are just product placement vehicles, like the Lion book holy shit that was a doozey.
So my memory is fuzzy
Since dude is just vibing as a post'human on a khorne world
Me when the fallen dude is an exact 1 to 1 of the heresy power armor praetor
What did GW mean by this

That is like genuinely
I want souldrinker minis
The most blatant fucking product placement
I’ve seen in ages lol
Like
It’s worse then leviathan
"I should buy tbe fallen range"
Which is saying a lot
Yeah it was shameless
Because leviathan was pretty bad
With its product placement
THE NEUROTYRANT AND ITS NEUROGAUNTS SWARM THE TERMINATOR AND GRAVIS APOTHICARY BIOLOGIS
Okay I’m done sorry
The problem is that the Lion returning is something that sells itself, but somehow GW managed to create the blandest fucking book in years.
Also Lion came back like a wet fart you've held in for too long, almost accidentally, compare that to the impact of Roboutes return holy shit lmao.
Mike brooks
Moment

Bro cannot write compelling characters or large scale setting stuff
The Lion post return is like some bug you find after turning over a rock. You get briefly startled, disgusted, then watch the bugger scuttle off again.
I will slander him for sons of the forest
Lol
Because that book
Was genuinely ass
Aside from the fight scenes except he’s good at them
So whatever
The only book he’s written with what I find to be a compelling version of the character is the Leilith book
But that’s because Leilith had like 0 personality before the book
Never read it
So having like 10% personality is much better
It’s fine, it’s usual drukhari stuff
In my experience 99% of xenos povs are absolute trash
Also brings up the whole “Shalaxi was probably lying” hook
Read elemental council, it’s really good
Valedor is also like, the only good craftworld eldar book
If you want an actual book
And not someone’s worldbuilding document hidden as a book
Gav you fucking hack
The only author I still appreciate is Chris Wraight, and only some of his stuff
Nah, let dan seep in more all of the rejects will now be using bodygloves
Oh yeah Bodygloves

Need more of those
Still not sure why the guard dont wear them under their flak
Who says they dont
The fact that I never see a guard wearing one
You wouldn't see it beneath the flak and fatigues
Are hardened bodygloves expensive or smthn?
For expendable troops ye

Not necessarily.
Its like a wetsuit.
There are different types
We dont really know, they do wear some sort of "cloth" under their armor
it really is just an old military blouse huh
What are some other good Warhammer Crime novels, i already got Bloodlines ready for the road trip but need another for the return home
Thats it
Flesh and steel
Vorbis conspiracy
Literally all the books from warhammer crime are good imo
The leagues being lured into an obvious trap by greed just makes me sigh
Like if the motherload sounds too good to be true it's a trap
Excuse me, the Lion book is stellar
It was such a sloppy vanity project for the Lion.
His one chance, one opportunity to make an entrance
It's a pretty common opinion of it, you just happened to be speaking to the biggest Brooks hater on the server to validate your opinions
and it's GREAT
I mean, if thats what you wanted
it doesn't just give us an interesting primarch character it also makes the Dark Angels interesting for the first time since their inception
At the cost of the Lion looking like a grandpa
Old man Lion is the best lion
The lion needs to get the band back together, and he doesn't even have a ship to do it with. Let'em cook.
Tbh the authors cant also really decide this stuff
GW usually interjects in these things as well if they plan to milk it out or do it in a future material,
I feel like people forget this a lot
I want them to bring the destroyers back. Time to drown the tyrannids in radiation and Phosphex
But can you really adapt to Phosphex? I thought that thing even burned in the vacuum of space and not even auramite could resist it
Considering Tyranids can basically make any bio-weapon they want id say so.
They can make a similiar weapon and just go to town with it
Hmmm. So less resistance, more like Copy and Pasta retaliation...
you're asking of a race of aliens that evolve a creature that allow themselves through gravity make their fleets travel FTL by catapulting themselves
adapt to that?
yes, yes they would
This makes me wonder, which space marine legion at full strength pre heresy would be best suited to fight the tyrannids? I Imagine night lords would be the most useless since psychological terror doesnt really work on them
Probably. Still want the destroyers back. If not super effective against tyrannids, theyd definetly be lethal against anything else
Read most of the horus heresy, should I now move to siege of terra and finish it or read some modern setting books?
Finished Ushoran, it’s good and I really enjoyed it but not a huge fan of the authors style
yeah it's pretty good
What I dont get is why dont they just use that offensively
Catapulting a giant nid into a planet will still let nids eat biomass right?
Since they eat rocks and shit
nah those do yield biomass but what they really want is the good stuff
Plant life animals
stuff like that
and you know doing that kind of kills those things
Fair
Go the clad route and audio book the entire horus heresy including the siege of Terra EXCEPT LEGION

Then come back and annoy 80 percent of the people in here with your takes
I wish I could unread Legion

Dilara be like:
Florida man, huh...
Have you ever annoyed a cottonmouth with a stick or wrestled an Alligator?
Ive done the former
Don't really like the way the author basicaly wrote around the story, rather than just telling it. First time reading his work so I don't know if that's typical of him but feel like it was a great story with some great setup, but it could have been written much better.
Lots of unnecessary repetition, like take a shot everytime he mentioned the "Gheist Moon" and his prose was overly formal and used the full name of everything every time it was mentioned to the point where it just felt unnatural. Like every mention of the Stormcast Eternals used the full name "Stormcast Eternal" rather than just Stormcast or some other simpler nickname, if a character had a title, epithet or nickname it would be used in full basically every single time the character was mentioned, even if mentioned multiple times in the same sentence.
Still enjoyed it though
Got to the point where I was expecting a ™️ after every mention of the Stormcast Eternals™️
Does anyone have any good websites to read WH40k books for free?
Just read the recent blogpost on the arbites. Matt - i jerk off to Cato SICCARIUS - wardt is still allowed an opinion?

He's been writing for the game for a while iirc
Youre in the wrong chat for that. The people in here dont critizse GW/BL too much and tend to not be big on piracy....
Huh ... Well, as long as we arent touching any ultra marines with him
Pretty sure it's also against the rules to ask for/share/promote pirate stuff
Plus like we got authors here, stealing their work isn't cool
oh dear oh dear, agains piracy eh
Not me personally (idgaf what you do as long as you dont do it to me) but the rules in here are offical and stand. No piracy. You want a legitimate product, you need to pay a legitimate price for it. You cant/dont want to ? Tooo fucking bad
@safe plover my favorite combative shark, are you up for some oggy auric damnation?
Digital is a pretty cheap way into the lore though. E books/audiobooks
you should give it a try
All good. Sleep well and prepare for those Finals
Hes been writing for GW for over 15 years so yes.
