I took another deep breath, greedily experiencing another icy gust.

It’s a nice opening - if I might suggest that you swap it round slightly at the start - have the standing on the hill overlooking… bit before you mention the time of year.

Also, there’s a small bit of jarring between the explicit stating that it’s warm and then referring to the ice of the wind - so perhaps that’s where you reference the weather. So something like…

“The icy blast I’d have normally expected had the day not been unusually warm for the time of year”

Or something like that.

I am always in awe of anybody who can write in a language that isn’t their own, so massive kudos to you.
