ricky gervais mentioned, activating angy mode
Warhammer fans are some of the most belligerent at enforcing on what they believe this setting should be
it's honestly astounding
It's wild how 40k fans are, were trekkies like this back in the day
Starring Henry cavil as a servitor
I like him. He bothers everyone equally, like a cat.
They seriously overestimate how powerful he is. Sure, he has got money, looks and connections. But in the end, he is just one man.
He definitely gets the "say" in some stuff but like i hope these people know how corporate stuff works, he very much is largely here to look pretty on posters lol
GW is 100% aware of how people go wojak mode when he says anything
Also like isn't he more like a gamer nerd like yes he knows warhammer but i don't think that's his main favorite thing to do
He knows a lot about 40k
And has a couple armies
Idk how extensively but he’s talked about reading all of Abnett and ADBs books among other things
I think Wraight too
So that puts him ahead of like
99% of the fanbase
ok maybe mortie was in a bad enough situation hes not fully stupid stupid
but hes still a bitch
😭
Yeah I liked how they showed his fall
It’s pretty sympathetic, but it’s also still his fault
i hope the siege of terra anthology is just 17 continuations of battle of the abyss
Why would you wish such evil upon us
misery loves company
ı swear if you like
complain about any of the Siege books im killing you
I will hide the body
🙏
Also, love the casual threat of violence #trueturkishdelight
That would explain why you joined this server
True but i still find it funny. Violence seems to be turkish peoples love language lol

all my takes are based
darktide is a good game
no one should read legion 🚬
And legion was a good book 😘
Me whenever Clad dropps his legion take
I just hate the Alpha Legion, but I side with him
i hate the alpha legion AND legion
i was listening to a really nice short story for the raven guard
and 95% of the way through it just fucking ends with someone doing a 180 and then proclaiming "I AM NOT X I AM ALPHARIOUS"
I swear alpha legion is just an excuse for recons in the same book
ERM 🤓 u just dont get it maybe theyre loyal maybe not xdddd
BRO RIGHT A COHERENT STORY I DIDNT ASK
Omegon was loyal at least.
Hope you're excited for the Morty retcon in Warhawk. You'll either love it or hate it.
give me 2 weeks
I honestly hated it at first but grew to accept it after reading more DG books.

Not a book but I just read the codex Aeldar. Apart from the wraithbone blurb that everyone hated on, I must say that compared to third edition (the last codex I owned), it's a work of beauty. GW really learnt how to present their factions.
The internet always needs something to rage about so it always overshadows any positives
Was this your first eldar codex

If it was I can kinda get the positive outlook, I found it pretty dull otherwise compared to pre-9th edition codexes as usual though.
Yeah its very much another generic codex, tons of recycled lore/artwork, barely anything new like most of the last of these two editions etc lol
I get that its for rules first but I miss the times when there was more lore pages than rules sometimes and I say this as a tabletop player
Same, I kinda realised the trend once 9th started rolling through so not much you can do so its largely whatever
As I said, I had 3rd edition and now 10th. Nothing in between.
^
Steel World (Undying Mercenaries, #1), Dust World (Undying Mercenaries, #2), Tech World (Undying Mercenaries, #3), Machine World (Undying Mercenaries, #...
man I should read some non-40k sci-fi at some point....

imagine using AI art as cover art and turning people off from your books with that alone
Yeah that is a huge trend with a lot of books atm lmao
it looks so obvious too sometimes
Discount store aaa cover
this looks like booktok slop
I know half of those words but yea
like means similar in this context
booktok slop is what I did not get
people who read garbage books on tiktok and post about them
slop is anything low quality generally

red rising
hell no
Genuinely, sincerely disappointed
this is for all your Clad support
They're right about Legion it cannot be denied
Clad doesn't even have an opinion on the book, he's not read it
Silly book just straight up tells you it's a waste of time because it's just lies smh
thats the Alpharius book!!!
Same thing
Now Red Rising, that's a good series
there's more than 3?
Dead Island?
Sam B
Or read The First Law, it occupies the top spot for best series with Red Rising
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/10991.Stanis_aw_Lem
Have read some of his works?
Nope, why
He has some great sci-fi books some light hearted like "Fables for robots" but recently I listed to "Solaris" it's great alien, psychological a bit horror story at least the first half is great and the most cool.thing is that the Alien life form is Alien in every way not humanized like many times
Yeah I might check that out after i finish my current backlog a bit, I need a break
Xeelee Sequence also has a few good ones
I was about to ask about this one
The backlog keeps growing faster than I can read
Genuinely can't recommend Red Rising enough though, even if the first book is very iffy
Here's a summary for "Solaris" if someone is interested
When Kris Kelvin arrives at the planet Solaris to study the ocean that covers its surface, he finds a painful, hitherto unconscious memory embodied in the living physical likeness of a long-dead lover. Others examining the planet, Kelvin learns, are plagued with their own repressed and newly corporeal memories. The Solaris ocean may be a massive brain that creates these incarnate memories, though its purpose in doing so is unknown, forcing the scientists to shift the focus of their quest and wonder if they can truly understand the universe without first understanding what lies within their hearts.
I'm gonna check it out
That book was pretty good
||Even if it was really an Omegon book.||
Honestly I've only read like 8 HH books so it's 90% jokes for me
yeah not the best book
And btw have any of you read/watch The Expanse ? I have watched the series and it was great
the relationship between the cadian and the big catachan lady is neat though
It's just alright. Got it for free so can't complain too much.
My friend seemed to like some of the books but never talked much about them
Yeah so
can you guess whats gonna happen with the mcguffin they find
:)
its gonna change the war against the tyrands for real this time
Yeah guys we promise
also it totally has a super original purpose!
||generic terraforming mcguffin no.291039||
it totally will not be destroyed and the lives that went and got it will not be sacrificed in vain
damn it bulgur HUGE SPOILERS
you know it's gonna happen
They manage to get rid of all the Nids in the galaxy and live happily ever after :3
I miss this space opera type series like Firefly or Farscape ( still need to finish this one)
LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER NOISE
But yeah like idk the book is just weird, I didnt hate reading it but it definitely feels a bit "blank"
I think the setting of a planet in its final hours of tyranid terraformation is super cool and some of the setpieces are neat as well but eh idk
It definitely gives off "here's a Nid book with some budget Rambo lookalikes" vibe.
I think it's just fine. The narrator is solid at least.
Didn't expect anything groundbreaking. The plot is so overdone at this point tho.
Yeah agreed, ive also watched the interviews with the author Arbitrator Ian and his gf did and she seems nice enough with the intentions of the book but like yeah it isnt a lot
I feel like you can do a much better job with the book if you kinda got more creative with it which this novel just doesnt really do, its just these guardsmen fucking about until they get t othe mcguffin research site lol
also having a genestealer cultist tag along

also it takes place in a gem world
a world designed for gem production
my god the imperium loves wasting resources
Wait was it gems?
Damnation of Pythos did the whole being doomed to fight on a dying planet with no hope of success better.
wasnt it flowers or some shit
Yeeee
it was gems yeah
it was gems
there was like one layer in the earth filled with huge artificial gems
The coop made it good
the terraforming device allowed the planet to create beautiful looking and expensive gyms
the admech that important to the story was actually very proud of that
and because of those gems the world became filthy rich
yep
Episode: Dying for Pie
Season 2
Episode Nm 24a
Yarrick would be disappointed.

why do mods always delete the nice people sharing gifts
They don't want you to get free gifts.
something something 1984
Hoarding all of the free nitro for themselves smh.
i read enough
its awful
nah
Bro gonna read Dune and be like "it sucks, they make words up, im #1 dune h8r now"
i didnt like the movie
it insists upon itself
despicable clad
someday we'll learn Clad is like 13 years old
🙄
"everyone who doesnt have the same taste as me must be young and or stupid since my taste is universal"
you just keep doing it too much
im sorry ur lordship ill refrain from disagreeing with you
Excellent
Good ending
i will only take you seriously when you crop your pfp correctly
I'm honestly shocked. You just lost all your nerd creds.
I dont read random sci-fi!!!!
Random?! Lem is a bloody classic of SciFi.

I know some sci fi you can read
is that fredy mercuri
Yes
I like the ||Dark Angels save the astronomican|| part in Mortis
They are gonna be in the astronomican for like the entirety of the Siege so hope you are prepared for that

Oh...
I am now
I mean there are other things that have happened and stuck around
Like Katsuhiro
Yeah the DA plot in Siege is just bad imo
starts off well but the moment they get to the Astronomican its just eh
im listening to a podcast episode about ahriman
its KINO
actually 🤔 its too good maybe ill listen to it later
heresy dark angels generally suck ass
40k dark angels also generally suck ass
weak writing usually, same problems in every book
It's true. DA fans are truly suffering out here
The ADB short stories are absolutely brilliant tho but that's because it's ADB.
Hey fellas, I can buy some paper backs from local store. Should I buy Eisenhorn, ciaphas or Dark Imperium trilogy? There seems to be horus heresy parts 1-5 too
Eisenhorn is the best option out of these ones
Xenos is the first one in that series
Ok perfect, it costs only 20 bucks for whole omnibus
Well worth it
the omnibus doesn't include Ravenor or Bequin though, you'll probably want to read Ravenor trilogy before the last book in the omnibus, Magos
The Omnibus has most of the short stories included iirc
Sadly it is not in the catalog on the store
They are releasing a new ravenor omnibus around summer. Just read all of eisenhorn and you'll be ready. Each series is better than the last
Get ciaphas Cain too
Amazing dark comedy that's worth it
I didn't read dark imperium cause I heard it was kinda mid
Dark Imperium is alright, has lots of interesting stuff but a lot of whatever stuff too
Its fine but it definitely doesnt capture its full potential yeah
it largely suffers from the trope of uh
"release these books because we are releasing minis/marketing"
those novels ALWAYS suffer
Plus it's written by guy Haley, and he wrote the lost ans the damned
LOL
So I'm hesitant
Yeah to be blunt the only parts i liked were the logistics of how to deal with fighting the death guard and a multi-sector wide nurgle invasion
the actual "plot" stuff is really boring
Mike Brooks gang rise up
hes one of the few BL authors who you can tell actively "advertises" and has fun with the goofy and serious natures of 40k so his novels are really entertaining to read
Guy Haley does have a couple of good books as well, like Genefather and Pharos
Genefather is great but ITS JUST A TEASER BOOK!!!!
🗣️
GIMME THE NEXT ONE!!!
Unless you wanna read about how Cawl's dumptruck ass stops him from moving around a lot i guess
hell yeah
I forgot but he says its like the "weight" or mass of a leman russ i think
cursed as fuck 💀
to be fair Cawl is fucking MASSIVE
not 60 tonnes massive!
man i gotta do the math on this
he's not allowed on all BRIDGES
either Cawl's body is made from like Osmium or denser materials or the weight is just wildly exaggerated

ı gotta find that excerpt
because I know its when hes fighting that cryptek
and he gets shot in the ass
If he's heavy enough to rival the main battle tank of the imperium that says a lot about him really
why of course you'd remember his ass part
I think his stature should then mirror the fact
I get that he is heavy as fuck
but cmon now
this giant centipede looking mechanical mother fucker is the weight of a battle tank
now that's just both disturbing and funny
he wouldn't be allowed on most roads
tbf the imperium has roads and bridges that can support whole tank columns and even titans
well yeah, but I'm spitballing on our terms
if you have the physical strength for it picking him up and throwing him at someone is a viable way of killing them
fat fuck
Celestine is the angel, hat lady is inquisitor greyfax
Its good enough i think, one of the better Inquisitor series' that isnt just Ravenor or Eisenhorn
Coolio, thanks!
Still trying to make it through the HH but I keep finding it a slog, and have to put a few books between each book.
I think it's due to obvious wrongbad dude pretending hes good and whining about X nontraitor being the bad one really
Yeah pretty much, the HH is also not a good series to read continuously
especially with the very noticable drop of novels just being Mid/Fine before you get to like that one peak novel until you head back to the Mid/Fine/Bad grind of books again lol
A good practice I picked up when starting a series is to read different books/series inbetween it, to reduce burnout
Even when reading authors as good as Dan Abnett.
Reading all the gaunts ghost in a row will get tiresome
Or Ciaphas Cain
Is there good suggestions for old world? Chatgpt says to start with Gotrek omnibus, but also sundering, nagash and sigmar
In all honesty, the HH novels become comedy when you realise and admit it is an entire saga revolving around different degrees of teenaged brotherly sibling angst and daddy issues on all characters involved...
the Gotrek series is pretty good
Gotrek series is very very good, though it is the only WHF series I've gone through
yeah it's very beginner friendly
It's practically tradition that if you want to get into warhammer fantasy you recommend it while it's 40K equivalent Ciaphas Cain is the one for well 40K
It helps Cain series shows the more functional side of the IoM
Sounds good, i play warhammer online so there is quite a bit of lore for old world as well. It got me into dig deeper and go for the books
I'd argue Gotrek is a lot better in that regard, Cain gets a bit boring if you go from one to another in series whilst the Gotrek & Felix story evolves as it goes even though the idea very much is "Gotrek & Felix vs X faction" every book
It’s even an ongoing joke for the title of each book
Beastslayer, Goblinslayer, Orkslayer, Manslayer etc lol
yeah and like Realmslayer
my guy is so bad at dying he killed an entire realm
chatgpt says
Ya
Idk what it is, but every time I read "I am Alpharius" I kind of smile
They always come out of nowhere
I just got to that part in mortis
Almost done with it
Do I get to read Rogal killing Alpharius in Siege
Or is that HH
True. The Alpha legion gimmick gets old real fast. Unlike alpharius himself.... (Laughs in Rogal Dorn)

I did like seeing Abnett meme on it in Penitent when Bequin said "Because he is Alpharius."
boring book ngl
I like that book 👉 👈
I finished Mortis
It was actually a good read
I do wonder about this so called order of caliban and their intentions
And I'm so glad Shiban survived and made it back to the wall 😌
What do folks think of this omnibus? https://www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-40000/novels/the-great-devourer-leviathan-omnibus-ebook-en-2019.html
I've heard that it's decent if you're looking for some Nid action
(Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the short stories that you posted earlier @tall phoenix .)
-
Valedor: Very good, one of the few peak Eldar books
-
The Last Days of Ector: Also pretty good, some nice Eldar/Space Marine stuff in it
-
Deathstorm: Pretty mid, also has another dumbass mcguffin plotpoint with a governor's blood that can "cure" the curse of the Blood Angels like lmao
-
Tempestus: Not bad, mostly a passable one but its a novella so worth a read.
-
Devourer: Very whatever.
-
Wraithflight: Another Eldar short, not too bad but nothing to write home about.
-
Shadow of the Leviathan: Very mid bolterporn book, lots of Ultrawank.
-
The Word of the Silent King: The Blood Angels and Necrons teamup Short, worth a read to at least be knowledgable in that particular event i think.
-
Dread Night: Worth a read because the idea of a GK waking up in the midst of a daemon vs nids invasion is very funny, also nothing to write home about but its a Short and kinda comedic so worth enough to read imo.
Cheers, thanks a lot for your takes!
Word of Silent King description of Silent King is so much better than the mini
Yeah agreed, the deathmask stuff especially
No worries, I think the omnibus is largely "bearable" because its mostly novellas/shorts, theres very few actual novels in this so it makes it more short and digestible

I like the description of his body as more advanced, almost like it has muscle.
the mini is just BIG NECRON
Like what
That’s all you could come up with
Is this the whole book?
Nah its an omnibus of different stories
Like 1-2 novels with the others being Novellas (short novel) and Shorts (short stories)
Sounds even better 🔥
Lmao you are gonna get it?
I want to
Are any of the death korps of krieg books good?
They're pretty alright if I recall, aside from the fact that the numbers make no sense when they're mentioned
read Dead Men Walking
Krieg™️ the book is kinda fine, the flashbacks are good but the flashforward plot is very boring
otherwise uhhh thats kinda it, most of their other stories are all by Lyons (the guy who wrote these as well) and hes usually a big miss
What about the newest one
Siege of Vraks? Very mid
id suggest just reading the actual lore of it itself
but you can buy it if you want, it just doesnt do the conflict any justice
There's parts of the flash forward in Krieg I liked, but the whole thing doesn't help up too well
yeah the book is like extremely boring minus the part where it covers the actual lore of Krieg the planet itself lmao
I see
you are facing what we refer to as
Single author that only writes about a faction syndrome
There is a YouTube Channel called janovic who coveres the siege of vraks. Very recommendable.
Yeah he straight up re-tells it from the Imperial Armor books its very good due to that
the novel meanwhile covers like barely any of it
its actually a bit embarrassing lol
*Cough Nick kyme *cough..... Yaawwn
The Vraks novel is more character focused to a few individuals, I didn't mind it so much. I did prefer the Imperial Armour version however
I like the narrators voice and the Illustration underneath it is pretty nice too
I really didnt like it because it turns one of the best conflicts in 40k into
dudes fuck around in trenches
the lack of good POVs really hurts it
Wild that Dead Men Walking is still Lyons best one
it and Krieg™️ are the only one people also ever recommend lol
That's true, I thought it was just okay at best
Yeah same i did finish it in a day so my frustration was kinda from that
that one vraksian getting to cosplay a krieger killed me
😭
Oh yeah, that guy. Weird thing, but I guess everyone's anonymous
Yeah thats the most hilarious part
he literally just did the jobs given to him and Krieg are so NPC-like nobody noticed until someone asked weeks later what unit he is from
Me omw to reload the artillery
I think that brought it up a little for me, kriegers are just numbers and it sort of reinforces that
Honestly his Left for Dead story wasn't all too bad either
Nothing exceptional or great but it was a fun little read
👈
💀
The Alpha Legion must have a field day Infiltrating them
considering Alpha Legion can literally infiltrate an entire death watch kill-team i wouldnt doubt it lmao
Alpha Legion are exactly as competent as the plot requires
Where did they do that? Id like to know the book so i never accidentally buy it
It’s in the Arks books
Brief passage where a DW Killteam teleports in and helps Vashtorr and it’s revealed they’re Alpha Legion
Not really expanded on beyond that
Welcome to 90 percent of 40k. Everything is as the will of the force 🚫 plot ✅ commands
I remember a throwaway line where they've just infiltrated the schola progenium in some book and nothing ever came of it
They just teleport in and say “I am Alpharius”
Sigh....
He has a lot of Alpha Legion support for that whole little conflict, when he and Belakor fight on the Rock
It don't matter, the Alpha Legion don't matter
Chat, make this guy read Legion
I fooking new it 🤣🤣🤣
I really love this artwork but man i cannot understand why they chose like
THE most ugly ass color layout
I've read the 8 HH books I've cared to read and I won't touch another page
Cause they were modeling it off your face

Got em
Im tanned though this is like greyer than most caucasianites I know
maybe your turkmen eyes can't discern the colour differences of a wintery european city but I can
They forgot to fire the dramatic lighting flares and beams before they fought
Dilara every time when someone disagrees with her lore takes lmao.
it's brave and wise for real

I dont even have any lore takes
I also meant book evaluations with that
There we go, now that’s some sinister lighting
when you've read as many 40k books as I have you become very jaded
😭
me when we gotta hunt another mcguffin
*mcmuffin 😋
💀
God if only the, literally two books that Erda shows up in discussed this
If only she directly talks about why they fell out
God, what a missed opportunity
Also man I re-read Saturnine
I still cannot believe this chapter is a thing
like... literally just why
She’s very unnecessary but whatever
Abnett is great until he has to shoehorn the must unnecessary shit to pre-existing lore.
Leetu is kinda fun at least
I still cant get over the whole loken/erbeus ending. Bunch of convoluted bs. How did that make it through review????
Him wanting to shoot John was funny because John should explode.
Leetu the entire last books
Honestly im like
extremely biased
but that was imo legit great
Eresus is a total cunt and Loken had no purpose beyond that as a character
I like the symmetry
It made me a fan of Erebus no cap
I also like warp timey whimey shit
We noticed.... You are that in every post you comment here 😜😘

fuck me, just die
Gotta check my homies ass for Samus rq
🤝
I like it because Eresus is not a character,
hes just a cartoon villain with no depth
he does his job and i love him
He’s evil and he likes that
Erebus is commedic relief, change my mind
Yeah no he absolutely is
I do think Loken could have deserved a better way to go out though
like... Abaddon not killing Eresus there is complete bullshit plot armor
but i guess it works because hes also evil idk
Loken should have gone the garrow route and died against horus
I just hate erebus too much to like the idea of backstabbing him albeit that this shit is totally in character for him
I think its better that he stayed to watch his body, that interaction he has with Abaddon was legit a rare moment where i was like "aw man".
Id take a bet and say Abnett was basically tired of writing this shit for 2 years and almost done with the novel so he just threw that in there lol
Erebus is so good because he keeps getting away with it. Barely ever meets any consequences
thats the classic "40k character in 30k" syndrome
It was a "what will you have after 500 years? You" moment.... In a way. Bittersweet and damning
People latched on so hard when Kharn bullies him for a but but then he just nopes out of there
It was pretty great
Yep exactly.
Horus literally cries like Nolan too
lmao
"HOW COULD YOU TURN AGAINST ME LOKEN, IM A PERFECTLY SANE INDIVIDUAL"
I hope he gets a "gets trampled by Kharn in a sidenote" kinda death lol
meanwhile Horus
It was the only slight bit of revenge anyone has ever got on him. Just some minor injuries for a marine lol
do you still have that Conquest screenshot? repost it pls, i like it 🙂
which one
with the heart
Get. Up.
Still the best two lines in the entire Horus heresy
thank you very much
That shit was weird as fuck.
"The other viltrumites avoid me"...
Geeee, i wonder why, you fucking looneybin
literally the best character out of all viltrumites
I am constantly torn between wanting him to die a sad, agonising death with no acknowledgement for what he's done.
And him just living forever ruining the galaxy
If kharn and khor phaeron had a viltrumite baby
who and who
bro doesnt know.....
no spoilers i beg you
Please educate him in that sweet turkish tone of yours
🇹🇷
to the series at least
to the shitty space marine books - go all in
is there Turkey in 40k
what IG regiment represents Turkey?
Kharn = best world eater in the universe, unhinged violence but surprisingly lucid; Kor Phaeron: Lorgars original teacher, second biggest douchebag in the word bearers legion after erebus, but only a close second
Chem dogs
who are world eater
who is lorgar
and erebus is...
that guy with tattoos on his head?
Wtf are you doing in the book club channel lol
Read the horus heresy. All of it.
Lorgars that guy hiding in his castle from a particularly angry flock of birds
Yes. The overzealous religious primarch with the face tats
I will find youuuu caw caw caw
being silly
Cannot believe this, we got an impostor
Well, i am german. Consider your humor categorically not noticed. I am even more blunt than rogal dorn in that regard
Yes, German humour is no laughing matter as we know
Last time i had fun, russia lost 50 mil. People
💀
🤣
It's crazy that I don't see any Alpharius's in this discord
maybe i look in the wrong places
Maybe the true alpharius is all the ragebait we posted along the way honhohonhon
Most based villain in all of gaming lol
the frog on my head is Alpharius
He is Alpharius
Anyone got any good xenos or non mainline imperium content? I’m once again out of books while I wait for the new farsight and grotsnik books
Have you read Valedor
Path of the dark eldar as well
I fucking love that entire ass speech.
Conquest is basically the end result of the Viltrumite ideal.
Shows how fucking mentally damaged somebody who's tasked with murdering entire planets would be.
In the Viltrumite society, you cannot be weak, you must always be strong. Be powerful.
You can't ever show a moment of weakness otherwise you'll be torn apart.
So the only way Conquest knows to ever communicate with somebody... is with violence.
The only time he can ever admit weakness is towards his victims.
And that's because they'll be in the grave soon.
I'm looking forward to battle beasts arc he's gonna get
Ngl it’s a complete crime that ||Battle Beast and Conquest never meet||
Also dear god how do people miss the point of characters so much.
These guys aren’t even complex
Battle Beast literally doesn’t give a fuck about morality when it comes to his opponents, he just wants to throw hands.
He shows up on Earth totally willing to kill the Guardians because he thought it would be a good fight, and only doesn’t cause it’s not.
That's why I like battle beast he doesn't kill people he feels is beneath him, he doesn't care about good or bad he just wants a good fight
Khorn would love him
Yeah he’s not the worst person but he’s not a good guy, he’s almost gonna kill Allen before they find the Viltrumites
Yeah he's more of a grey area
But he's likeable to some extent
Conquest is a well written charecter too
Conquest is a horrific person but he’s also not an idiot, he just didn’t expect Atom Eve to be the most powerful person in the universe
That’s his one real miscalculation
Without her overriding her mental block, he wins.
He was playin with his food cause Mark didn’t have a chance at beating him until then.
The fight isn’t subtle with how much Mark is not winning lol
he's so old he's forgotten his name and he's been around pre much since the first viltrumites
They did a really good idea getting the actor who played negan to voice him
Cecil is the biggest dumbass for not cremating him
I am very curious how they’re gonna change his later dialogue
10/10 on the voice acting
He doesn’t have this much character in the comics
Can't wait for next season
He’s basically just bloodthirsty and that’s it
I have not read the comics
Neagan was born for tbsi
I’m not gonna spoil what happens but, obviously he’s not dead and he does have more dialogue
So I don't know too much just what we're upto on the show
Theyve stuck pretty close to it If you ask me
I had a feeling he's gonna come back
That's what iv heard alot of fans say is its pretty true to the books
Closer than Other comicbook adaptations
Yeah
The only like super new setup is that Darkblood stuff
Isn’t in the comics at all
Oh true
But Kirkman said he had a storyline idea for it
he's gone now anyhow
Which never got implemented
No I mean the
The newest stuff
He’s in the comics but he doesn’t have that new plotline
I am curios to see how they navigate the anissa plotline.... Sensitive topic
Ohhhh got you
I’m curious too, also the Eve stuff
They’ve written the women a lot better in the show
Do the creators of the show have anything to do w the writers?
Ahhhh ok ok
Well this honestly just makes the show alot better imo
I know the comic is BIIIG
Same guy who did the Walking Dead
The comics or the show?
Yes
Ah that's so cool
Hence why you have a lot of Walking Dead actors in this show
Well it helps it’s a very well written comic
They’re improving on the source material a lot but the core ideas are very solid
And they haven’t changed much there
Also they changed some things around in terms of when things happened
I think the reanimen happened later in the comics compared to the show
Yeah, lots of stuff like that
But in general it's much better
Viltrumites are stronger on average
Reanimen are also stronger
And other stuff like that
Also the Guardians. Specifically having Nolan kill them in the beginning to create suspense for the rest of S1
And also showing that
They probably could've killed him if they weren't taken by surprise
Although Immortal probably wouldn't be able to do shit
The Immortal Fraud
||Seriously in the arc where Mark time travels to an alt. Timeline and warns the guardians about Omni-Man. Immortal shittalks him and then literally gets killed in one punch. Leaving the rest of the guardians to pick up the slack||
"Give me liberty."
"Give me fire"
"Give me innocent civilians or I retire."

I feel bad for Jerk looking into this channel at some point and seeing even more Invincible convos
My homeboy cant catch a break
My honest opinion:
I loved it when Admiral Soprano shook down the Grunts for protection money.
honestly just to annoy him even further i wouldn't mind making a weapon that projects invincible memes directly to someone's brain

I almost said something earlier but just changed the server instead
And went for a relaxing Pacific Drive

It's not that relaxing
Yeah no wonder
average life of an imperial delivery guy on a random planet
on a book related note, after getting through The House of Night and Chain and The Deacon of Wounds I reckon David Annandale is pretty good when he gets to stretch his literary skills in warhammer horror
warhammer horror has some great stuff so that checks out
I always have a weirdly difficult time getting started with his stories though
they definitely drag sometimes yeah
I have read both, yes
solar war isnt bad so far
what part are you at
Im also re-reading Solar War since I wanted a break from word-bomb novels after Saturnine lol
chapter 6

Solar War just kinda drags for me around the halfway point.
Im halfway through the book, can confirm
i forgot how bad Mercedes' parts are, im skipping them all lol
She was the worst part for me.
I KNOW RIGHT
There was a hell of a lot of focus on her only for her to ||become possessed and just die lmao.||
||It legit just reeked of "she has nothing to do in the Siege just get rid of her lol"||
I think the only parts of this book I legit liked are all the strategies of how to fight a massive fleet battle across the solar system, anything else was legit just boring.
Also scenes of just
"My lord im worried we wont be able to win this fight"
"Its okay Miss Suckondeezkasa we'll win, im a primarch trust me"
"Ok my lord ill trust you"
||she does nothing but sit in the Phalanx for the entire series||
I'd feel the same way if we didn't have a dozen short stories just before that book about Dorn preparing for the Siege.
There was soooooo much of them it got kind of comedic.
God its been awhile, can you remind me
I dont really remember much aside from him demolishing stuff for forts or whatever
Oh Dorn has another convo about not agreeing with Malcador. Mal promised to not do it again...sikes Mal will continue to be stinky.
OH MY GOD LMAO
THEY DO THAT IN THIS BOOK TOO
I completely forgot how much they repeat these
I genuinely like the short story where Dorn, Archamus, and Andromeda-17 are counting down the doomsday clock to the Siege and The Last Remembrancer where Dorn has to ||kill his Remembrancer friend.||
But there were so many short stories about Dorn just doom posting before SoT.
Fuck I remember reading that one, what was its name again?
Was it the one where we also get the dumb lost primarch plints or whatever
I kid you not there was even a short story about Mal and Big E playing chess.
I remember that one too lmfao
The last few anthologies were packed with identical stories.
ALSO HOLD ON A FUCKING SECOND
Dorn kills the last Remembrancer blogger
then re-establishes the Order
because... uhhh Abnett
but now they are Interrogators™️
💀
guhhh
YUP
Its a great case of like
Abnett not paying attention to his co-writers stuff
i dont mind it but its so funny
My bad Qruze was the Luna Wolves dude. I completely forgot the dude's name 💀
I think he also showed up in Praetorian of Dorn during a flashback.
Okay it's Voss.
He only gets referenced like three times lmao.
Im glad they add the Dramatis Personae at the beginning of each book
half the time im like "who"

There are a lot of repeats or near identical names.
I always mix up the Custodian guy from the SoT and the EC from Black Legion.

anyway i need to finish this book then read the new Minka Lesk novel
I hope its not mid like all her books!!!!
Good luck
i wonder when will Leutin release his book (or whatever he's writing)
I hope never
guy talks about astro physics in his lore videos
he must be burnt at the stake

@tall phoenix thanks for the recommendations on Tyranids stories.
-
Blood Harvest was a nice intro, a look into a conscripts point of view as their planet is invaded. A bit of apocalypse survival feel to it.
-
The Long and Hungry Road was nice because it mostly focused on a hive fleet. However, it felt a bit like the author was just ticking off the stages of invading a GSC infested world.
-
The Devouring Void was high action, high excitement but really the 'nids were just a plot device for the story of the inquisitor. Could have been any other enemy faction really.
-
Devilhunter was quite cool. Trapped in the jungle with a lictor. It felt a lot like Predator.
-
The Convocation is perhaps the story I enjoyed the most. Perhaps since I recently played the Rogue Trader DLC 😉
No worries and glad to hear they were mostly fun, its like one of the few only concentrations of Tyranid-"centric" stories in a compilation so may as well make the best use of it

Bad take, this book is legit great.
literally ironically has a thing for everyone lol
hey pacific drive is sick!!!!
uve probably worked it out already but those guys look more scary than they are. if you throw a flare they'll go for it and grab it and charge around holding it
You think it will be a worse take than Clad might have on Siege
LMAO
Stray shots but agreed 😭
I think whats important to remember going into this story is a lot of tau books in general are just bad/mid due to always being written by Phil Kelly, this is a really nice departure of just covering classic tau tropes without being too boring about it.
No Phil Kelly

Also I have this account blocked, can't recall what exactly they did but it was probably something racist, homophobic or otherwise bigoted so their opinion is voided anywyas
Oh he's THAT guy, lmao
Fuck em
It's cringe manifested
I've seen some disgusting things in more warhammer but
A fan art of one the worst warhammer persona in the whole world?
That just takes the cake
please tell me that's ai or something
i don't want to complement his art bro
god dammit why does it look good
Idk
Yeah and it's two years old
it's unfair

the content of the art is whatever
yes but unfortunately i have to commend the quality
still a shitty person tho
Plenty of weird ass artists out there
it hurts me to do so
true
almost a requirement to get into art

like a lot of famous artists in general are weird
tbh just being weird isn't an issue, maybe I oversimplified it a bit. "Plenty of shitty bigoted artists with awful opinions out there" would be more apt
I legit forgot its the same person, disgusting lmao
Sargon and wokehammerLs...
ok solar war is eh its ok but i dont think its needed
lost and damned seems a lot better now
You just like being contraian at this point
🙄
Get him guys
I think the space war stuff is good but it gets very repetitive and the Mercedes lady plot is just boring.
why does Sargon sound like a stupid ass joke
"Ah man I hope I didn't get Sargon..."
"Who the fuck is Sarg-"
"Sargon deez nuts!"
theres also just not a lot interesting happening in the book, and Horus' grand plan reveal being just a Team Fortress 2 teleporter tactic is funny
that type of shit
Take how you speak about lady oliton
Well
He is a joke...
get him guys
agrees with me
I like to play both sides

heheh
your downfall is coming
They enjoyed the wind flowing across its horn. It was instinctual, every beetle could fly, but they still enjoyed it. Equivalent to the feeling of a peaceful sunset walk across the beach. Although they were searching for food, they could enjoy the giant glowing orb in the sky for just a little bit. After all, they were the biggest insect in the sky, the only ones who could match it are the Titanic birds.
There was a reason why humans named their species "Hercules" after all.
Their eyes looked down, and saw dead bugs. Now death wasn't unusual, it was simply how things are. However, what was the strange part was the lack of bites. All the bugs seemed to be mostly intact.
And where were the ants? They would usually swarm around the dead corpses for food, but they seemed to be gone. Almost like they sensed danger. But... that couldn't be right. Ants were fearless, self-sacrificial drones, working tirelessly for their queen.
They flew down to investigate. They crept closer to the various corpses to find chunks cleanly cut off. Too clean. There was no weakness, having their mandibles or horns stuck, instead it was perfect. As if the culprit's strength was enough to kill them instantly.
Walking forward from the trail of bodies, blood, and viscera. It finally arrived at a bug crawling away. A praying mantis, it was limping away out of desperation.
Normally this would constitute a fight, or even threats, but the praying mantis looked up at the beetle.
"...ru..n"
They saw a sudden flash, and the praying mantis got bisected. The Mantis's blank stare looking at the beetle while it slammed into the nearest plant stem. Their legs twitched in a last sign of life before finally going still.
The Hercules beetle saw another one of his species, but it looked... wrong. It was made out of some mysterious, glistening, unnatural material. Not chitin, not flesh, it was something new. Glowing fluorescent lights of unknown origin were all over it. Wings attached to small, swirling towers. Hissing and clanking passively.
They could smell the rotting remnants of their flesh beneath the layers of its unnatural armor.
The head hung limply, dead eyes staring down at the ground, with an axle stabbed through it crudely. Was it even aware? Was it even alive?
It wasn't natural. It was an abomination. The Hercules beetle felt some type of... duty. This thing couldn't be allowed to roam the earth and the sky. It killed without reason.
The mighty Hercules beetle positioned their horn towards it. Similar to a knight pointing a sword at its foe. They hissed at it. It raised it's head in a sudden and quick manner. Engines within its body began to hum. A pale imitation of their species' habits and mannerisms. The Hercules beetle felt fear, every instinct was telling them to run, but this wasn't something that they can run from.
Do or die.
They both charged at each other.
the cold was her weakness
she was his..........
why is there booktok in my warhammer book?
sitting on the shelf at my barnes and noble for 20 bucks
for like two years
do i really have to listen to horus pretend to be mindbroken for 8 books?
Uhhh do you want spoilers
im already partially spoiled 😭
blah blah blah he was only pretending so the emperor blah blah blah
Yep thats basically it.
thanks random warhammer podcasters
its not even a good twist tbh
its all dan abnetts fault
but yeah until the End and the Gyatt hes gonna have dementia and sometimes meet up with the Emperor in warp-discord to taunt him
thats it lol
even the characters on loyalist and traitor side go
"BRO WHERE IS HE???"
yeah it makes no sense
To be fair it does but its still stupid.
why the hell would the emperor give russ the spear of reconsidering
why would it work? why would the emperor think it would work? how did horus decide to pretend the spear would work?
The explanation ||for why he has dementia btw is because Horus sent his actual "sane" conciousness back in time through the Warp until he needs it lol||
fucking danny phantom ahhh
yeah i knew that from a podcast
Yeee
the spear bit is just very confusing to me
NEVER

also Clad second question
do you enjoy people talking/debating/yapping about religion
are u gonna invide me to a religious discord
not so much
its fine in warhammer
the part in the lost and danned where primarchs actually caught eachother up was really nice
if only 40k had it...
where is my lion and Gman reunion?
(years)
(Possibly)
model first, lore later
It's models THEN books to sell said models
Tbh
Lion is in the ass end of nowhere in nihlus
I’d be mad if they met up so soon
Guilliman is in Sanctus still
the lion can teleport
if the lion doesnt set up a fucking base on mirror caliban with medicae and supplies for emergencies ill kill him
He doesn’t because he doesn’t care
i think they mentioned something about him starting to control it
MCU ahh
It’s like he won’t end up in the ass end of nowhere now
the lion... why did it have to be the lion.......
Gman will literally say the line again
with the amount of revives were getting
were 5 years away from a crossover
He was literally sleeping
They also retcon'd dorn dying in fucking 3e
so if he comes back its not a revival either
🙄
Lion def did not come back to life
meh
‘The actions of Horus are treachery, Lord of Ultramar–’
‘Heresy, I would say,’ said Guilliman. ‘It was treachery at first. To turn against brothers, to kill for personal advancement and power. But we have seen them, seen how their minds and bodies have been corrupted. Their very belief systems have been warped. This is no longer Horus’s treachery. It is his heresy.’
they barely impact the setting
just a bit better written
so I don't care
Like
genuinely
primarchs do not fucking matter
in 99% of 40k content
NO
(good)
WHY DID YOU
Ha ha, suffer
genuinely
why do people act like the primarchs will fundmentally change whats going on
its literally just fucking slop for idiots to consume
They are essentially superheroes, thats why. People see them as main characters.
I’m surprised the abhuman lore isn’t as racist as I would expect
uhhh
read Wraithbone Phoenix
LMAO
Oh?
no one tell her
read warhammer crime
LMAO
you get to see the
they also sometimes get branded on the head
its not racism its xenophobia
same thing
theyre not part of the human race
racism is xenophobia
yes they are
no
Legally have the exact same definition
Abhumans are human
"xeno" literally means "stranger"
WHAT
oh also homophobia is canon in 40k
