How the fuck do you even do math on fictional weapons and armors that are made from fictional materials
Mortarion that u
When you finish it ask yourself ||where did yarpan and his friends go in that big fight at the end|| because they travelled there. Just ||disappeared apparently||
This entire season is a shitshow so i get you
Thats a lame statement
They call me the Imperium cuz I'm blissful in my ignorance
It had high points... but... its okay.
Yeah jokes aside the books and the games are great
just... avoid the 1st game
for reasons
AAA-
🥵
Mayo Imperium stan confirmed, caught in 4k
Hold on this is starting to look like nfts
Shut it.
is the Jopall Indentured regiments specialty pajama parties?
lol
yeah they look dumb
they're supposed to be in super debt but their uniform looks fucking stupid
Part of the debt is moral
lol
so in penence they wear those stupid uniforms?

Lore Consult...
so which book is that that Cato ripps a necron pylon out the ground and uses it for a baseball bat?
Calgar does it and it happens during the Damnos stuff
ahh
umm isnt the nightbringer just a glorified pokemon at this point?
Yes but is still terrifying to fight
not if your a ultramaine with a billion feet of plot armor on lol
How the C'tan work is their essence is tied to shards of their past form, and if enough shards are combined it can actually manifest a weak version of the C'tan. But those shards can eat more shards and become more powerful potentially past the point of being controlled
is the lore about the C'tan being living clouds of gas and radiation that the necrontyr turned into mechine gods still canon?
They got there without the necrontyrs help but otherwise yes
lol so that one stellaris game i played where i found a living cloud of gas and radiation was more or less me finding a proto c'tan
Ok first things first…
Whats up?
You know Calgar doing something ridiculous
So I mentioned the notorious marvel comic
Ofc
I stumbled upon a youtube channel that explaines lore
Major Kill
solid explanations or not?
so okay if one doesnt mind an extra dash of meme?
sounds good enough
He tends to be biased and occasionally gets things wrong
I’d say the way he does lore is more digestible and entertaining
seen a hand full of videos by now
well he at least admits that he is biased
he openly says so at the beginning of the video where he unleashes a one-man shitstorm on lorgar
I am not exactly big fan of unneccessary edge but the loud australion part is kinda fun
and now I can watch the videos and know what he talks about is at least not complete shit 😛
yeah he got lucius the eternal and fabius bile mixed up once
Awful
but yeah he is fine, i think its good little taste of certain things
like if you wana learn about necrons in 15ish minutes
Are Luetin09’s videos good?
they're alright, i have an irrational hatred of them tho cus of how pretentious he can get
as a rule of thumb, 40k loretubers suck, the actual hobby youtubers are chill
They're informative but unnecessarily long.
yes
yee u can tell he's lengthening it out for literally no reason
If you can deal with their lengths and his snide/egotistical attitude then yeah
than occasionally goes on tirades abt how deep and nuanced the setting is
sir fuck no
So if you are someone who has yt constantly playing in the background
Luetin is solid
Cool
if you just want him for lore
reads wiki pages for hours
posts it as actual content

I really disliked his “coverage”of Darktide
Luetin minus luetin so a improvement
I usually listen to lore videos while exorcising or doing maintenance on various things so times not a problem.
Lol I just realized what exercising was changed to.
Exorcising?
listening to luetin while splashing the holy water
Dude said how “we’re” disappointed it’ll be like vermintide or the other 4 player 40k game as if he’s the voice of the fandom
yep that sounds p much in character
Biggus Egous
he's the snooty ass half of the crappy 40k nerd demographic
the other half are the nazis, represented by arch
Arch is hilarious, he puts on such a cringe persona/accent
yeah that just sounds like janky received pronunciation
he prolly is a tory stan so not unsurprising
I don’t think he even lives in or pays attention to English politics
he definitely cares abt some flavour of politics fsdhj
Eh, he has a really low understanding of politics or policies. Mainly just racism and Communism is heavily linked to sjw stuff so he’s super against
If thats from a year ago he probably made it while shitting himself over losing his sub lmao
lol
The vid is probably gone too, he deleted so many when they got catalogued and he got doxxed
Like the one where he called gnoblars "little racial expletive?
LMAO
stars i forgot abt that entirely
see big nose
neuron activation
not a nazi tho
he has smoothed his brain to increace its aerodynamic efficiancy while jumping to conclusions
lol
wut da fuk
I always thought he just insinuated stuff but I laughed so hard when I saw that, that was so insane. The fact he put that in a video
bruh I missed that
It was on Twitter
I just ignore his vids when they pop up under other 40ktubers because I don't want to reward him with views but I miss out on all of his dumb mockable sh*t because of it
You wont find it on youtube because he deleted it of course, but the video was saved and floats around
I wouldn’t be surprised if his vids were auto-ad disabled
Found it, dm @gaunt vector ?
sure
for anyone else who doesn't know, arch decided to refer to gnoblars like this: ||"to use a conciderably more charged term for which this channel is rightly famed: house blanks"||
Not only did he expect that to be acceptable but the dense mf had the audacity to brag about it first. yikes
no. I could probably have found a better way to censor it but I had just been flashbanged by words
Although I suppose it could be comparable to calling a ginger a blank.
sry for the confusion
vaguely perhaps but lets not try to understand how arch thinks. he can keep his problems to himself
lol agreed
also if it was innapropriate of me to post the quote, even censored then pls just let me know
i really hope everyone here has more skin than that lol
yeah I meant that for the mods, its their call
It seems that the lore part of shadow throne is just 5 pages... Kinda disappointed tbh
doooooom
jk it's no worries lol
think i found my new favorite gsc
the blessed wormlings
They live in a graveyard world and rob graves and only eat insects so they can learn humility
they steal their armor and crap from said graves
AHAHAHH THEY MANAGED TO OFF A BUNCH OF DEATHWATCH
lol
it was played out oretty sad but fr it takes 1 DW to fuck up the most important ritual in eldar history
\nd there was 7
a DW killteam of 7 was fighting the cult and died
that only eats bugs
Well I mean the Eldar are not smart sometimes
fair
Don't fuck with us marine fans or we'll write us killing you
Guilliman wouldn't be alive without B's wacky wavy line
dont fuck with the wacky wavy line
They'll eventually fuck it up on their own anyway
fr tho how did deathwatch fucking die to a bunch of malnourished grave robbers lore wise
like 7 deathwatch guys
its says they spread their supplies to thin
angry bug men with a lot of conviction and tools designed to punch through rock
Drillpilled
"HEY SPACE MARINE, YOU REMEMBER ME?"
This meme is even better now that rockgrinders can actually eat marines on tabletop
OOF
so much GSC love lately
funny enough SM armor is a ballistic ceramic so it is litterally rock lol
Then why the fuck so bullet craters in that stuff always Look like it's Metal
Oh yeah right...GW doesn't know shit
It is, in fairness, a composite material
Its not just ceramics, its also metals
It should look like damaged MBT armor if anything when struck
(And, in fairness, Mark V Heresy armor would look like either damaged ceramic or damaged metal depending on which layer of the armor plate was damaged. Those bonding studs are literally holding different layers of armor material together.)
Because it looks cool
Aesthetics > continuity for 90% of GW's models.
If we were going off the lore pretty much all of GW's SM are either painted or modelled "wrong"
TL;dr codex Astartes symbols hard, chapter cult symbols hard, sculpting hard, I'm on mobile and too lazy to type.
Trying to rationalize how theoretical unobtainium is composed and would collapse is dumb
And I'm a Giga Armour nerd for 40k as u know Bobo
I mean different layers with the outer layer being steel kinda works for me and explains why battle damage and chipped away paint reveals a silver surface
It looks cool
Simple as
😎
Esp given that we don't even know what colour blank ceramite is since every single author/source seems to change it
Yeag
I just think it's being overly critical to go "GW dumb because they model bullet holes"
Lol
And since outer layer steel it doesnt matter anyways, wont change my mind after this, can now yell this out everybody somebody critizes when marine armour is silver. Thx carro!!!
Eh, its stated pretty clearly.
Any dumbass claims it isn't composite is just wrong
I don't think its steel
But it could be a metal of somekind
Adamantium, apparently
Adamantium, plasteel, Ceramite
So
Yeah, basically super duper steel
Its Bonded
🙏
It is
Like a composite.
Steel steel
And, yeah
Plasteel tends to imply its a mixture of steel and hyper dense or durable plastic?
Bring weight down, maybe?
But yeah this def will be useful for future convos
Never says
Or perhaps imply the forging process?
We can only asse
*assume
I don't think too much about the applicability of unobtainium
.
Idk maybe English is failing me
Huh
Just two terms slapped together i guess
That's why I said we can only assume
We have another problem
Yeag
No full confirmation
Depending on setting, it can be "Non-Metal"
Uhh
Again
Plastic armour
This is why I don't think about it too much
Ff fr

Magic unobtainium armour strong
Dune's Plasteel is specifically metal
But I know Star War's Plasteel is more plastic than metal.
(Like, the armor Storm Troopers wear is plasteel.)
Noooooooo
(Which is why it sucks because its ultra light plasteel and not a plasteel durasteel mixture like other Star Wars armor types.)
"""Armor"""
Word of god (Disney, Lucas) states its effective for stopping shrapnel
But given a blaster pistol can and will go through starship hulls...
Can get penetrated by toy bows used by teddy bears
Good news
I found lore on plasteel
Bad news
It does not specify its composition
In fairness, even if the armor stopped it, a literal Teddy Bear beating you in melee should be enough to make you die of shame.
I'd blast myself right there and then.
But yeah some ppls state that stormtrooper armour can stop literal .50cal which is bonkers
Tldr: starwars even less knowledge on how armour works than 40k
That's...
Fuck man, everything I've ever learned from the EU states that because nobody uses ballistics (Well, not nobody, but such a vanishingly small number of factions and peoples) they're actually quite effective indeed against most armors, shields, and other forms of protections in the Star Wars setting.
Hell, even against Jedi its not half bad.
Its part of why Melee with traditional melee weapons in Star Wars is a thing.
Some jerkoff turns on an energy shield across the room, he instantly makes your blaster pistol useless... Unless you run up and pistol whip his stupid ass.
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/694227131344879677/901919717109944370/u_got_dat.mp4 stolen from offtopic but suddenly relevant
Its also why the Mandalorians wear "Melee shields" which specifically block kinetic weapons
Another good day to be smooth brain and not mind this too much

Was thinking more of something like dis
(A melee shield combined with Beskar iron armor functionally makes a Mandalorian warrior immune to damage until the shield burns out, which could take a minute or two.)
He did specify air burst
What if the Jedi dodges da airburst
So basically one of the 2 ammo types a puma uses is rheinmetall ahead ammo which gets programmed and explodes like 20-50 meters in fromt of your target, depending on how you programmed it
They step on the mine you planted earlier in a drug fueled state which nullifies their pre-cog, mulching their legs and killing them from bloodloss
Imagine you shoot a shotgun at somebody and the shotgun shoots 20 meters before you hit him with the shotgun
Look man, you really need to ask the expert on killing Jedi for tips
Its really not as hard as it sounds
You can unlock this dialog after reaching an influence level pretty close to 100 with HK (you'll need to play VERY dark sided). Funny stuff! xD
STAR WARS Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords belongs to Obsidian Entertainment and LucasArts. Mods:
"HK-47's Reskin" by Darth Xander(g_w_lghtsbr02)
"90SK's K1 Robes for TSL" by 90SK(Cap...
If an assassin droid can kill a Jedi, so can you.
Then buy an HK-47 or 50 model and do it properly.
Oh boy, material discussion, i love them
HK amazing char
Kotor 2 reminds us why the Galaxy prefers its Droids to be servile and without free will.
HK-47 is legitimately one of the most dangerous beings in the galaxy while he still functioned. You can't out wait him, you can't out run him, and you certainly can't out shoot him.
He is part of the reason why the B1 Battledroid is as dumb as rocks.
And regarding armours, storm troopers use carapace armour, which is a mix of hard plates like ceramite, armaplas and other hard stuff
Armaplas is stated to be a plastic and metal cmposite stuff
I sense some sarcasm in this phrase
I think Bobo was talking about SW stormtroopers lol
Yeag
SW ST's are definitely plasteel
And the sarcasm is ony mayhaps
When i hear storm trooper i think of WH40K kek
Oof
Its part of the overarching problem with Storm Troopers lore presentation and actual presentation
Both are lame
😎
Droids for life
Normal guard for life
Granted a very short life
But life nonetheless
Interesting enough, ceramite is used as energy weapons protection, so having it in front doesn't make sense to me, since it will fracture and lose its functionality, where a metal composite stuff would be better for outer layer, since it would fracture less imo
Reminder: Storm Troopers are on par with Clone Troopers up until the Post Endor Era, but even then, they're still some of the more elite soldiers in the galaxy, capable of easily beating poorly trained rebels. They make the average Imperial army unit look like a buncha losers.
Its literally just the movies and some games which show Storm Troopers to be incapable of aiming or surviving a single shot.
Good thing I prefer droids over both those guys
And dying to teddy bears
Also I'm sure stormtroopers are well trained
But i like clones
...As a matter of fact, the average person in the Star Wars Galaxy actually didn't like the Clones much, but they sure as shit liked Storm Troopers.
But I prefer Battle Droids >>>>>>>> Stormtroopers and Clones
TLDR: A buncha weirdo literal clones are hard to empathize with.
Your neighbor who signed up for the Imperial Army though?
Also yes
Battle Droids superior
Unless they were aliens I'm guessing
This is true
But being an Alien basically screws you for your entire career in the Imperial Military
(Unless you're a fucking chad like Thrawn)
I guess that clones are not much liked because of their nature, and the weird sense of oddness they might have... Turns out that even in SW i'm drawn toward the pariah ones kek
Episode 4 intro did them justice but other than that.. well
It may also have been that the Clones reminded the average person too much of Droids, ironically
They're all the same "Model" so to speak
If you'd believe it
Apparently that played no part into their unpopularity in universe.
(Read: The Republic was already dealing with an actual cult of religious warriors stealing away children to train into emotionless robots with laser swords.)
Course
Wasn't there anti Jedi sentiment
To the average person, a Sith and a Jedi may as well be identical.
They are
Only late into the Clone Wars.
Man George really started lackin on the world building
Palps spread lots of propaganda about the Jedi, after the Clone Wars, most people really did believe them to be traitors as was the party line
Those who knew better were silenced
Keeping it real I figured in the Imperial Core at least
Oeople would be more concerned
This is basically the way it went
Propaganda? You mean the truth

Fence sitters kept quiet, those who knew better, like a certain Princess who tongue kissed her brother once, didn't speak out because the Senate was disbanded, and those who disliked the Jedi from the beginning didn't care.
And no
Nobody in the Empire who wasn't somebody important
Jedi =/= america
Did not know about Darth Vader or the true nature of their own Emperor
I mean, they may have known Vader was a person, a warrior of somekind
?
But not a Sith Lord
(And again, fuck would they know about Sith in the first place?)
I refuse to elaborate 🙏
Big military man who does things
Basically
They knew he was someone important, just not what he was
Footage of majo getting shot and slapped
Doubly so because the Legion of Storm Troopers at his back were all ex Clones for a time (The 501st)
Actually that is me slapping myself because I am the hivemjnd
😎
😳
Man the CIS is rly cool
Mayo slapping himself haha fool
Too bad they are comic relief 90% of the time
And they shouldn't be
Keep going Bobo
Because without Palps pulling the strings, they quite literally could have won.
(And again)
Geonosians my beloved
(The Galaxy had a fucking collective trauma of Droids with free will and destructive design.)
Republic: wastes 1 gorillion dollars on clones that die in 2 secs
CIS: D R O I D
The CIS leadership genuinely feared what would occur if their army ever broke their loyalty programming
They could have made the war against the men of iron look tame
How much sex do you have? Clones: 2
Also general grievous got done dirty
Oh you edited it 😔
Their heads are eaten after wards like mantised
Only 2 sex allowed
In all but his cartoon appearance
And I don't mean the 3d one
Yees
2003 grievous
Is the only canon grievous
Every other one is Republic propaganda
Loved the episode where they broke into grivous home and he just butchered them lmao
There is a fucking reason the Jedi wanted him dead, and it wasn't because he twirled an invisible mustache
Tho
inhalers were never invented
Movie grevious and 2008 grievous understood the ultimate technique
Running away
So +1 point for that
The other problem with fighting Grievous is
Most lightsaber techniques take into account the idea that you're fighting a biological opponent, like the Jedi is themself
...Grievous is a cyborg
He literally will not tire out
He won't stop
He'll just keep hacking at you until you die
It actually says a lot that Obi-Wan routinely struggled, since he was a master of Soresu, the Jedi Lightsaber technique of defense
Also unorthodox style
Also true
Can't exactly use Makashi on someone that will just chop your legs off
Alas just making up a new character with a reputation of being a jedi killing machine without having him appear into movies beforehand kinda doesnt transfer this reputation onto the audience
Or Soresu when 4 lightsaber
Which one was the one about jumping all over the place
Djem So?
Idr
He was far more physical than even masters of Shiem
Also, you're thinking of Ataru
Yeah Ataru
Shii-Cho (Improvisation), Shien (Aggressive), and Juyo/Vaapad (Hyper Aggressive)
Or some such
You'd think, but no
That was something Dooku always fucking hated
Oof
Mald
Closest I think anyone ever got to Grievous was Vader post suit
Vader easily could best Grievous, frankly, in raw power
Its his thing
Stupid question but why didnt they just pick grievous up in the air? And like idk drop him off a cliff or something?
Since he cant do force shit
They tried, a lot.
His feet claws can dig into the ground though
And given he's a cyborg, if he doesn't want you to pick him up, he's not going anywhere.
Yeah, when they have the time
Big thing is
Jedi need time to focus
Which is why Grievous was so damn aggressive
Ah i see
That was the plan. Most of the time, they wanted to kill him without actually dueling him
But
He wasn't an idiot
Given he was basically the commander of all the droid armies
He was a solid tactician
I mean they did capture him once but chose to release him again for fucking jar jar
Which wasnt smart
Since not having grivous anymore would have been a lot more beneficial than still having jar jar
No offense for jar jar
But like
Man
(Also side note: Grievous likely also knew Jar'Kai, which is specifically about using more than one lightsaber.)
The real sin, tbh, about Grievous is a sin all characters who wield more than one lightsaber make
They block and attack with both blades At once
The lightsaber forms relating to this encourage it
Which is the total opposite of the point of having two weapons
Dont watch starwars if you wanna see logical fights
The worst thing imo is this "holding swords into each other and just staring at each other angrily while pushing" thing movies tend to do
Awful
Terrible
Its just weird because they do specifically have a short saber for offhand use (Shoto. Notably, A certain apprentice of Anakin Skywalker used twin Shoto sabers.) yet never use them correctly.
If you know what i mean
At least lightsabers have a reason for it
Bad reason, you could still do something about it and ending up in that situation is nearly impossible if you fight properly
The magnetic fields interact when they clash, and lock together. Lightsabers bind up on contact, you have to make an actual effort to unbind, rather than what real swords do, which is slide until they catch on something and then bind up.,
I mean, the only way* not to have your lightsaber bind with another saber is to not allow them to touch at any point
I'm tired so brain stupid
Its not their regular stuff where they just hit the opponents swords for a sec
Well and i cant explain properly alas
I know what you mean, the trope is dumb, but its used so actors can take a second to act.
It wouldn't happen in a real fight.
Go sleep, its important
Also yes
Correct
Kinda got distracted by this
Oof mb
I like polearms
So i like those too ofc
Would even make a lot of sense if they would have the main body of the polearm made out of some material lightsabers cant cut
I've always liked them, because yes, polearms.
Anyway, time for slep
Slep!! 👋
i like how GW took vibro weapons and went; this has to be made more vibro
they vibe
it's the weird swords from kotor no? im not sure if they got them in other franchises
nope doenst look like it
i always imagined theyre like chainswords but they vibrate really fast and just chop through shit that way
apparently transformers got one
Details
"You establish supremacy like we showed you, by concentrating all the force at your command on one point, hammering away like you would with a vibroblade, through armor like you would through scales or cartilage or bone, and you show no quarter."
―Jova Tarkin to Wilhuff Tarkin[src]
The vibroblade[2][5] was used either as an offensive weapon that could be hammered into an opponent's defenses,[1] or as a utility device.[2] The weapon buzzed,[6] thrummed, and glowed ember-hot when ignited[7] and, when tasked to cut, could be used as a crude surgical implement capable of cutting into an animal's innards.[1] They were also capable of punching through the plastoid armor of a stormtrooper.[6] Such weapons were often kept in sheaths[1][8] or scabbards.[4]
damn
so it generates heat from friction. also wouldn't it get tiring to hold onto it because of the weapon constantly trying to move itself up and down or side to side?
it vibes and that way it cuts through
nooooooooooooo
but transonic weapons step a bit over that and go; i adjust my molecular frequency to yours and now i go SWOOSH
most importantly the vibroblade cuts through butter like a hot knife
Hot
I want a weapon that cuts through knifes like hot butter
wasn transonic weapons ignoring armor?
The blade of the mgs guy is probably more like an advanced vibroblade
still, fancy cheese knife
Trans sonic u say
Do it
those are even better, they vibrate at the specific resonance frequency of whatever they're hitting >:)
talking about transonic wepaons
ah, had it slightly wrong
Vibroblades are pretty much high frequency blades, yes
In Star Wars, the reason they became popular in the first place is all thanks to the Old Republic, back when fighting Sith or Jedi was something the average dude might have to do.
The logic being that a Jedi can and will close the distance with you, so you better have a weapon to defend yourself with in CQC. Vibroblades tended to be made of Phrikk/Cortosis/Beskar, making them resistant to lightsabers.
iirc one race even made a special kind of blade that could clash witha lightsaber and survive for a little while
Indeed.
Basically the same idea of the Old Republic style blades
yup
The vibro part made them better at cutting, and far better and penetrating armor too.
(That part was a requirement, given that the Mandalorian wars happened around this time.)
(And lets put it this way, if a whole army of Beskar Iron wearing maniacs are trying to run you over, if you can't penetrate that armor, you're done for.)
Either way, as the likelihood of fighting force users decreased, so too did the prevalence of Sword type vibroblades.
By the time The Mandalorian takes place, knife style vibroblades were more common
in a sense, the mainline star wars takes place in a sort of dark age
they where also massively effective aginst clone/storm trooper armor as it was made with energy weapons in mind and has no ballistic protection aginst pyshical weapons and projectiles
technology hasn't really progressed since the old republic
if anything it's regressed
Hell, as a fun fact, standard swords that had nothing special about them were still in use during the Old Republic to keep pace with demand for melee weapons. Made of cortosis or Phrikk, of course.
Its weird, because that's more or less how its almost always been.
Thing is
Tech does progress
This.
Star Wars is still a dystopia in a sense
Just at glacial speeds
i'm saying that like
Its what made it different from Star Trek which is a utopia
This is true.
like nobody even knows what a jedi is
imho the reason the tech is like that is due to how the old republic and sith empire ended
In fairness
No one can tell the difference between the Jedi and Sith because they did such a good job killing one another
The Sith Empire collapsed and was forgotten, leaving on the Jedi council
the only real difference is a philosophical one
Then the descendants of Darth Bane did the same to the Jedi Order
And so both were lost to time
This is true. They were actually the same sect way back when, on a planet also happening to be lost knowledge.
yup
Anyway
Tech wise, the galaxy does still progress
Sure, a starship from the Old Republic won't be useless
But it is antiquated.
The Dreadnought Cruiser is just that, a Cruiser
But in modern parlance its more on par size wise with frigates.
Its less exaggerated than in 40k, where old tech is outright superior.
Its more that old tech still works and is more common in Star Wars.
but i mean
if you look at knights of the old republic
it seems like ships back then are largely SUPERIOR to the ones in mainline
Untrue, generally.
On scale, they're quite small, and lack the same raw firepower.
Again, they're still useful, and could be successfully used in the modern era
But ships of the time are indeed still "Obsolete" in so far as being useful for the times.
Great example, if smaller in time
Z-95 Headhunter
It predates most of the Clone Wars fighters, and was used by the Republic
At the time, the Z-95 was at the top of its class
Skip forward to the Galactic Civil War alone, and the Z-95 is hot garbage. It can't out fly a TIE, and the X-Wing does everything it does, but better.
(The Z-95 is the direct ancestor to the X-Wing, design wise)
And keep in mind, the above is a late modification
The early ones only had two engine nacelles, not four
The only ship I can think of from the Old Republic that matches or exceeds the size and firepower by the Clone Wars is...
Damn what was it called...
One moment, this will take me a hot second
The Invincible class!
That's the one
The Invincible is on the left
A Venator on the right
It might give a venator a run for its money, but an ISD would blow an Invincible out of the water
The other thing is
The Invincible is a Dreadnought
Same class of ship as the Super Star Destroyers
So size has increased with time
the ebon hawk is like 5 times better than the millennium falcon though
you mean the ones that dwarf most 40k ships? and look like they can fit an entire fleet so star destroyers in them and then some?
new star wars is egregiously shit
yes
Depends on the SSD
Here's an SSD, the Mandator II dreadnought, with an ISD hanging above it, with the Invincible nearby
There's an even smaller "SSD" which is nothing but a factory for Dark Trooper combat droids, its actually pretty modestly sized, on par with an ISD or so. Its big, but not massive.
Depends on what you want to do with it
Is it better at fighting? No doubt, it has enough firepower to give frigates pause
But its speed and cargo capacity is lacking in comparison.
still much smaller than the millennium falcon. the flacon was med bulk frieghter iirc where as the ebon hawk was light bulk
The YT-1300F Light Freighter (the Falcon) has 100 tons of cargo capacity.
The Ebon had only 40 tons
weird
Again, the Ebon wins in a fight, but as a freighter its no contest
in a fight?
the ebon hawk in kotor 1 has shit guns
it also turns slower than the falcon
there is a reason the line of ships the ebon hawk comes from didnt even last 300 years
Dual Turbolaser turrets, two of them, one ventral, one dorsal.
Dual heavy laser quad cannons, two, one on each wing tip.
Photon Torpedoes.
A hidden laser for shooting at infantry.
Versus:
CEC AG-2G quad laser cannons (2)
Araykd ST2 Concussion missile tubes (2, with 8 missiles)
Concussion missiles
A hidden laser for shooting at infantry.
It has
TURBOLASERS
You know
The kind of lasers you use to take on anything larger than a Frigate?
Its guns aren't the problem
oh it had turbolazers and could just bearly shoot down fighters?
Game mechanics
yeah fair
lets see.
:)
some a few builds where viable the rest ruined the game
fundamentally it's a CRPG translated to real-time/optional turn-based and third-person
so
it has artifacts from that
yeah
but it's awesome
also i dunno if i agree with that assessment
i think any build can work
not to mention all your followers that can mostly do all the work for you
it was funny to me reading people in SWTOR tell peopel that KOTOR had the same combat system as swtor lol
it was ok before it was f2p
nah
thats all i can say
it was a big ol' ass
it was a wow clone more or less so it was always meh
every mmo is fundamentally gonna end up being a wow clone except for stuff that does action and hitbox based combat
instead of targeting and hidden timers
I hate targeting mmos it takes all the fun out of it
its why i have gone to GW2 lol
new world was doing a really great job
for about a week or two
now i don't know if amazon is gonna be able to fix it
or get the playerbase back
which pisses me off
because i put a lot of work into it
and got a lot of people into the game
and everyone quit basically
Why did they quit?
cuz the game went to shit
starting at like mid level it just falls off a fucking cliff
the game was fundamentally broken and everything they tried to do with it made it worse
until finally they fixed all the massive bugs
but now they like
totally janked all the progression systems
lol
to where the game is
INSANELY grindy
like
EXTREME levels of grind
in the endgame
the polar opposite of the scat fetishist
Hello again inquisitors of the ordos I have returned for yet another weird lore question, as I’m not sure, is there a difference between warp fuckery/ psyker powers and actual magic? If there is actual magic in 40k?
magic/psychic shit is manipulation of the warp
just as magic in Fantasy is manipulation of the Winds of Magic
as far as i know in 40k, the power does not come from within, but the ability to access the power is on a person-to-person basis
But is there magic that isn’t warp fuckery
not as far as i know
No magic in 40k, only advanced warp fuckery
Hmmm alright I can work with this knowledge, do you believe the spell used to make the rubric marines can be redone on smaller scales and to things like oh …..skeletons? Suits of plate?
what do you mean redone on smaller scales
There are powers that can unrubric marines but CSM don't know what it is
Yvvraine time
There was a TSons player at my LGS complaining that Yvraine undid a bunch of rubric marine's curse just to prove she could do it and then killed them SDFHN
Poor Tsons
Meaning can it be done to non marines and put them in things that arnt power armor
uh
well
That's not exactly how the rubric works
but I'm sure there are powers of that type
Just trapping a soul in something?
I mean, Eldar do it all the time
Yee
Ay Mayo go check out my Executioners
Well it’s the closest thing I can think of to what I’m wanting to do in 40k that chaos has done
I have
They are primaris
-1 point
but they are drippy
+10 points
💖
9/10 would rate agsain
But yeah soul trapping should be A-ok in terms of verisimilitude as longg as you set a reasonable premise
So a cult to (I can’t ever spell his name right on phone the one who owns magnus) could in theory use souls trapped into skeletons and suits of armor
Yeah
Hehehehehehehehehehehe
My poor poor guardsman party
I’m basicly making vecna the undying king (from dnd) in 40k and having a cult summon him and the party shall be dealing with him and his foolishness
But thank you everyone who answered my questions
Sounds spooky
So individuals genestealer cultists have personalities? How much does the cult effect their individualism
Yes + It just makes them dedicated to the Cult's cause
So no matter what their personality, ultimately they'll be helping the cult
It also depends on the cult
For example, Cultists of the Princes are especially zealous
Ok pog
Are there any named Genestealer Cultists that we can see more details on?
@atomic pelican Sorry for the ping
no
Well
One but she has very little lore
Mersea Thrayk
Who was just introduced
And a few characters who are only mentioned in the codex but they're just minor ones for stories
But Thrayk is probably the most important named GSC character
That's kind of their schtick, GSC have basically the 1 named character and she isn't on the tabletop
No named characters in the codex ruleswise
That's really unfortunate, I've always thought they were neat but the I personally didn't like the look of the models too much and because of that I never investigated them more.
They just got new models didn't they? And I've seen 3rd party ones look really good but have no 3d printer.
Oh there's also a few characters in Cult of Spiral but they're also antagonists/side characters so yo udon't see much of them
They just got the Reductress Saboteur
Oh ffs why is the patriarch attached to the pipe
It's a good looking pipe
Though you could pretty easily not attach him to the pipe I think
It's been awhile since I put mine together so I can't quite remember
Yeah he can pretty much perch on anything so you don't have th assemble the pipe
Yeah but I’m day dreaming about making a blessed wormlings gsc and I want my patriarch on like a tomb or a crypt
U would just need the tomb or crypt base to stick him on
One leg is attached but the other isn’t luckily
Side note: I didn’t give the gscs enough credit I thought they were all gonna he shades of mining planet but they are some really cool ones
Like the one that worships old one eye that attacks the ultra marine as much as possible
Blessed wormlings which are on a cemetery planet
Yee p much every cult has its own niche
4AE is the only one that strictly is mining company
Which is also why typically they have buffs to deepstriking and such
Seems like a lot of room for homebrew which is pretty dope
Still salty af about most of their models being monopose for a faction that should inherently be more kitbashable but yeee yeah a lot of good home brew
Yeah most modern models are moving into monopose
I assume it has something to do with production/maybe ease of access for why models are going monopose
Although honestly I find the monopose models harder to put together
they're so picky about how they want to fit
;-; please god I just want new noise marines
yeah make them mad max punk rockers again
I honestly don't think so?
I'm really not sure
You could get very efficient sprue spacing with multipose
my honest to god guess
is that monopose allows for more dyunamic models
compared to multi
most of the time
That's probably the case
and less repeateed poses
Yeah honestly I don't mind the monopose on most models
Neophytes have enough monopose 'sets' that they don't really start to repeat too often
Same for most cult units
I can only see it becoming maybe a problem with HQ's and such, but, I only run one of each because cults so
The one problem comes in with certain models having weird seams or VERY tight fits for press togethers
Some stormcast models are a pain in the ass
I watched a store manager struggle to put together Krondys a few days ago because his seams didn't fit together right
Stormcasts can be suuuuuch a pain to work with. But theyre pretty so i put up with having accidentally glued fingers together
Named characters and important set pieces are fine for monopose tbh
Like obviously the patriarch needs to be monopose which is fine
But
Please god
Not monopose csms
Ok listen you can either have two wounds or multi pose pick one.
god bless
🙏
with the name of the file I expected an actual goat to pop up the moment the nid came in
What BS is this now?
Man GW really should have signed a deal with some quality animations studios
The animation quality is
The fucking goat scream

New unstoppable biomorph
Roll a D6 to see which way your tank bounces with a goofy physics engine
Don’t believe her she totally put it in.
Not sure what u did dilly but gw probably already released their hitman on you
@storm jungle I figured if you did it would have been when the nid appeared
Also aha, this man knows me!
(it's a scam)
you know the sad part about WH+ is that i've heard apparently all the in-house battle reports and painting guides are pretty good
yeah but none of that requires quality writing, animation, and acting work
production value does a lot for battle reports however
tbf the writing and acting has been mostly solid (siennas VA was in the IG one)
its mostly just the horrid art styles they have gone for
the stories themselves are pretty good
animation quality for hammer and bolter in particular is bad
i really, really hope the exodite turns out to be terrific but im gonna keep my expectations low.
it's mostly just the animation yee, which I mainly blame the writers for. GW is notoriously stingy so i dont doubt they've just paid the studio too little or refused to commission a more experienced studio, but you can do a lot with crappy animation
buuuut for some reason it feels like H&B is written with so much action that like, idk it's like the writers think the animators can make these big fighting scene setpieces work and they straight up can't. It doesn't play to its strengths
Lowkey Sienna was excellent, easily the best VA they've had so far. I'm sad she was only around for a few minutes
Second best voice actor was the screaming goat 🙏
inshallah
Sienna was great as always, but shout out to whoever voiced yarrick
Please tell me thats fake.
Lowkey Warhammer+ is, as predicted, awful lol
Can warhammer + just burn already ?
tbh that episode in particular wasn't awful
didnt it already crash and burn?
fail
I'll give them credit, the launch episodes of it were good, One Eye, the Tzeentch one and the Inquisitor one (my favorite) were fine
the tech priest and robot one is pretty good as well
I haven't seen the newer ones.
i watch through other sources mostly
I imagine they wouldn't be too terrible, the animators they hired are all talented.
i also really liked angels of death, which makes me like one of 2 people on this server that did lol
The easiest way to fix warhammer + is to have coupons
Literally the only reason I have the GameStop subscription is because of the coupons
the easiest way to fix warhammer+ is to discontinue warhammer entirely except for blood bowl
Easiest way to fix warhammer+ is to let people do fan art
The easiest way to fix warhammer plus is to make the benefits anything that you just can’t find in the internet for free
Warhammer+ is an NFT
It wasn't a bad show and honestly told a pretty good story
i really liked Angels of Death. Wasn't a huge fan of the black and white + Red thing though
would have been great for some of the more intense scenes but the WHOLE thing like that was kinda annoying
I think so
so like how old is he rn?
Uh at least a couple hundred
Rejuve treatments can go a long way
941 was his first appearance
998 is his last canon apperence
we'll probably get to see come the new guard dex, but likely yes seeing as most of IG's current named chars are dead or retconned
So 70 to 90
unless they whip up no ones
Which I'd be fine with
He's alive.
Just forgotten atm since hes not a Marine character
only problem with that is theyd have to make new models and they cant be primarised so thats a mark against
unless.....
But since I was way off rejuve treatments could keep Yarrick in the fight 100 more years
primaris guard
A normal human with rejuve treatment can last up to around 400 years iirc
Oh damn
A normal human with rejuve treatment can last up to how much the plot demands
Its inconsistent as per 40k requires
Although how much of that is fight able years
yeah i know
In W&G TTRPG some of the leaders of the factions are around that age iirc
Well, if well done it would be fight capable up to nearly the end, maybe last century or even 50 years would be hard probably
Yarrick is in fluff limbo
so did the power of ork belief really give yarrick's cybernitic eye the abillity to shot lazers? or is that just a meme
He hasn't been explicitly killed off and he also isn't used for any stories
So he's just vibing
A real cybernetics he have
lol
Iirc it was written that he commissioned the laser eye in response to hearing the rumour
In fact it was him that after hearing those stories decided to get a digital weapon added to its bionic eye
Yeah, what Ratty said
thats fucking great
I want Yarrick to retire with his husband at sometime
And since he know how much such stories can have a power over the orks he went for it
So it's meant to be like, did the orks will him to have an actual killing glare with their pyschic nonsense in a roundabout way or not
Without saying that having the possibility to shoot lazers from his eye can be quite handy in melee fight
yup
Wahapedia: Astra Militarum — Commissar Yarrick (stats, options, wargear, abilities and keywords).
its even on his stat card lol
ok so question, i heard about a "lesser" chaos god the other day
what is he/it all about?
started with an M i think
YES that one
So
im talking about 40k
in 40k he's Malal/Malice
and only appears in one actual source
the 2009 Space Marine anthology
in there
He's described as an outcast Chaos God, representing anarchy incarnat
and is notable for his hatred of the 4 major Chaos gods
so is he super powerful?
tl;dr it took them a lil while to ultimately decide on the chaos pantheon they ended up running with, towards the tail end of them sorta playtesting it out they also tried out a fifth god that's meant to be like. Entropy or self destructiveness, that sorta vibe. Idk how much stuff he ended up actually appearing in but he got phased out fairly early on
i imagine he would be if he is chaos incarnate
