dude the fact the warp fucks with time makes the way the imperium gathers it forces for a war so stupid to me
like imagine the fleet gets there. 3 months before the invasion even started
obscure, interesting lore snippet about the hrud or something from a sourcebook: no attention
WOULD ROGAL DORN PREFER SNICKERS OR MILKY WAY??: 2k upvotes, some $100 r*ddit award
or they get there 300 years later
Literally just big space marines
Space marine phoenix lords
Except less interesting in concept
I like Primarchs a lot but like
but given a million fucking contradictory stories
the fandom legit makes me hate that they exist sometimes
i liek them in theory
therefore DAE PRIMARCHS???
i hate them on table top
Named characters are interesting but only if you shut the fuck up about them for more than 2 seconds.
exactly
Nah bro, 40k should be the mcu but with primarchs!!!
named characters are also OP as hell
Not the interesting, bizarre mishmash of science fiction and fantasy settings cooked up by rick priestley and friends in the late 80's
lov primarchs on tabletop but only when they can get btfo'd turn 2 by jackal bombs
tru
Screenshotting this quote
lol

Its the same shit whenever I see questions about the Emperor
Hes just a dumbass and a lazily written character

nOOOO WRITERS TOTALLY THOUGHT OUT WHY HE LEFT ANGRON'S FRIENDS TO DIE
no they didnt
its just bad writing
did his origin story ever get finished/settled on?
Not at the moment, we only got the Hittite village upbringing
i like 'named characters' like characters that dont really exist, but having them on table top excel the campaign story
LMAO
the only lesser primarch is ferrus
Ferrus just doesnt exist
BASED
the only cool thing about him is that he was a good character for 5 mintues when hanging with fulgrim
Characters need actual loss or development to be interesting
what about the 2 lost ones?
and that he could have been the primarch of the legion of the damned which wasnt true
GW be like
money
"Really big space marines"
Bro this
Fanbase: TAKE MY MONEY
lol
i know right
ferrus can you just die
its so good
he did đ
they were like 'you won; when they had the blacksmith duel
and were buddy buddy
they both strive for perfection in their own special ways
By that definition that would make Cato interesting
But yeah it does indeed play
Love how some lore communities
Such as r/40klore because reddit
Instead of their biggest lore issue that gets voiced being like "damn shit's inconsistent" or "damn 40k suffers from the worst scifi tropes in some writing despite the fact it's a science fantasy setting"
Or "damn gw sure should stop focusing on space marines so much maybe we should acknowledge that it's a bad thing rather than use 'posterboys' as an excuse"
It's fucking
Characters not being one single gimmick also works
lmao so
"WHY AREN'T PRIMARCHS COMING BACK QUICKLY ENOUGH"
I'm reading ST's background rn @storm jungle
Love me baby â¤ď¸
"IT'S BEEN FUCKING 4 YEARS SINCE MORTARION GOT A 40K MODEL PLEASE GIVE ME FUCKING ROGAL DORN OR SOME SHIT"
what have i done
Fists + Guard maintain very small presences on the planet itself
Fuck those people.
Thanks for inviting me ;p @plush mason
đ
I hope rogal dorn is a fucking skeleton somewhere
I hope he's fucking dead and that gw puts it in a codex or supplement
Just out of spite
^
I mean he was a whole skeleton on the phalanx for like 3 editions up until 7th
Then it was just his hand because gw wants to make bank from making 40k into hh 2: electric boogaloo
primarch soap opera setting
god
That used to be the pre-6th lore
Skeleton encased in amber on the Phalanx
"Humanity's throne world does not house the same kind of defensive garrisons boasted by many more far-flung planets. The Sol System, is, of course, massively garrisoned and fortified against threats from without. Yet to even voice aloud the suggestion that corruption could lurk within the shadow of the Emperor's throne is considered heresy by many. Coupled with hide-bound tradition, and a fear of betrayal whose source is lost beneath the dust of millenia, this notion has long made complex the raising or stationing of Astra Militarum soldiery upon Terran soil. Even the Imperial Fist Space marines chapter, who have single honor of recruiting from the throneworld, restrict their presence largely to the phalanx"
@storm jungle
Exactly
I said that later
The only primarchs that should be returning are daemon primarchs
Also
the r/40klore zinger
"Actually Daemon Primarchs losing to solo Space Marines make sense because [mental gymnastics]"
Oh god
That too
"Dante would totally beat mortarion in a fight because uh...uhhhhh...uhhhh he has an inferno pistol!"
"And he's older than any primarch was during the gc!"
"So he'd just somersault over the daemon primarch and 1 hit him!"
"Go imperium, HFY!"
lol
also question, what the fuck do chapters do when their chapter master dies
Reddit b like
Warhammer Fans: "ugh! why is chaos so unintimidating!!! Lol harmless!!!"
Also Warhammer fans: "It made perfect sense that Logan Grimnar beat Mortarion in a fight."
is it possibel they could just be shit out of luck
"My essay on why space marines should beat everything, and how them beating everything in gw's official fluff is actually good"
Yes exactly
They're like "chaos and xenos should be bigger threats! They feel like cartoon villains!"
Same people witnessing space marines beating and/or surviving everything in a weird attempt to sell more models using bad writing: silence, followed by intense conversation about how awesome it was when dante killed the swarmlord
Yup
My favorite whf youtuber flat out acknowledged the issue
"40k's lore is boring, it's just humans despite there being a bunch of races that just...don't get talked about outside of the context of space marines fighting them. It's worse than warhammer fantasy where the humans were still the main focus"
not to mention getting overly buttblasted when chaos or xenos win
damocles gulf moment
I've had someone argue with me that the fall of cadia and great rift are "well enough" when it comes to chaos victories and that "the imperium deserves MORE victories because they've always been losing in the lore"
Then said "chaos is op in the lore"
Like ????
I fucking wish?
its the classic imperium stan argument
Chaos "wins"
its just that the imperium suffers absolutely no consequiences from the Win
Like nowhere near the point
Like the entire schtick behind the Imperium is that it's horrible and failing and collapsing
It is WRITTEN TO LOSE
Or at least not win
The current way Chaos victories are written
the Imperium wins more through a chaos victory than chaos does

I Know orks to have that problem tbh
Cawl is going to pinch the maledictum closed with these handy gloves that let you close chaos rifts that he just found the STC for under his nose!
It's good Writingâ˘ď¸
but now its kidan an even battlefield
Well
take the 13th black crusade for examplee
Chaos "won"
but were utterly humiliated by Imperial forces
the Cicatrix Maledictum does not actually impact tyhe imperium at all in terms of the narratvie
and its already being closed up
yeah chaos is always being humiliated for no reason tbh
@errant mauve who do you think is going to be champion jobber for Eldritch Omens
The fact this is actually a possibility raised by black library novels infuriates me
The fact fans just eat it up annoys me
Chaos
duh
The Eldar have actualn stakes
Tru
meaning chaos wuill lose
The Eldar have a named autarch
from saim-hann
The chaos is just like
some random warband right?
Like
I look at half of the 40k fandom and wonder "do you people actually care about the setting at large or do you just want to see the imperium win in a wargame setting"
like it's not fucking halo
But letâs talk about these incredible miniatures. The Asuryani get nine all-new miniatures comprising Autarch Ghaelynâs Saim-Hann force, including the Autarch herself.
Eldar have a named character involved
Seems that this may be a elf win
it's not a space opera where "okay these guys are good and the aliens are bad and we gotta kill the aliens" it's "yeah all these bastards are horrible and it's fun to watch them kill each other"
But the new eldar set is really good yeah
Hopefully it indicates a bigger eldar release coming soon
Mayo and I were talkkng about who's gonna end up being the bigger punching bag based on Eldritch Omens
i really like the new chaos crap too (duh) and the new chosen are cool
It's eldar or chaos but now they're vs eachother so
Should be chaos
Yeah that's what I figure
i think its a really clsoe fight lore wise
Based on the fact that the chaos hasn't got a named character yet
+It's named Saim Hann
if it was emperors children were there tho eldar are absolutely fucked
Children die just as any other CSM do
But yeah it's.. I actually dont know what warband this it
is*
The one in the box set? it looks like the black legion
Yee
Funnily enough, on tabletop, Eldar actually kill EC better than they would any other CSM from Ancient Doom
Leadership penalty but that doesn't matter much
my god I hope they get rid of Craftworld's specific rules and jus tplant them into a stratagem
Ancient Doom and Biel Tans fucking
anti-ork sword
are literally just filler
emperors children also have anti eldar stratagems if im correct
let me check
genuinely they should just be 'extra' fun stratagems and not considered into the actual base faction
GSC have similar against Imperial factions
i think faction specific stratgems are just stupid
i get why its in ht egame
but its stupid
like most cwe relics fucking suck but this is especially doodoo
What's even funnier is
+1 to strength doing literally nothing against orkz
Because model eldar models are at s3
So they still wound on a 5+
Wow! You did it! Being equal to space marines using an artifact!
This relic pre-dates the tendency to just put +1 to wound on things I imagine
yeah they dont
emperors childrne dont have anti eldar
im thinking of something else
An imperium stan would look at that and go "epic, look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power, spess mehreens r so cool!!!"
especially one who doesn't touch the tt
those oddities almost never actually play the game
they've never experienced their superhuman gods getting ran over by a truck
yes but they stink up the online space
inb4 they make autarchs str 5 and eldar str 4
also, would genestealer cultists make good corpses?
LMAO
Built different
BASED
Also I like that eldar have just been permanently impossible to balance fluff and crunch after the removal of initiative
i know trynids are good corpses and space marines
8th edition moment
imagine not stacking so many conscripts the SM die under the weight of the bayonets
Incubi get this
Banshees are getting it too
Yeah good
Also maybe it's just me but
Nah GW actually made a nice readable FAQ for that a few months ago
I've seen incubi do it because their fight-first is better tormentors
if initiative still existed that would not have been needed
I mean even when it existed
Just because of the existence of defensive grenades initiative was useless
How many people get get grenades that reduce initiative though?
Plus there was a points penalty to it
Yeah the penalty was "reduced to 1 initative"
All SM tactical squads irc
I used to play eldar against SM back in 4th and 5th
They had both blinding and frag
So if they charged they reduced your initiative and if you charged them, they also reduced it
Bruh you got scammed
thats not what frag did in 5th
Frag in 5th were assault grenades
And in 4th ?
Didn't play in 4th
I do have the rulebook though
Ok
read the 4th codex
So for 4th, its similar to 5th
Don't have anymore sadly
So
I do remember some rules like 4th edition IG vets counting as having defensive grenades thanks to trap
D-cannons etc
4th: models with frag strike at initiative 10 (same time as defenders) when charging a unit in cover
5th: models with frag strike at unmodified initiative when charging a unit in cover
Man that SM player scammed you đŤ
Heh we were teens back then I'm not surprised
fuck it instead of trying to figure out what hte fuck is the difference betweena ll the 'fire' chapters im gonna make my own
which blackjack
and city burnings
Reddit momento

lol
very reasonable response to a thread about wanting less primarchs in lore discussion

who would've thought that someone with "adeptus astartes" under his name would take offense to that kind of thing
astartes tag
Gotta link to that post?
24 votes and 26 comments so far on Reddit
bless
You could literally retcon primarchs out of existence and the setting would still be 40k.
Nothing of value would be lost
How many civilian deaths would a space marine chapter cause before they start getting in trouble?
Depends on how much the writers care
Some get away scot free while others get really judged for it
Lmao
I really want to give a proper answer but its literally that
Flesh Tearers kill a few civillians, everyone goes nuts
Marines Malevolent bomb entire population centers, nobody cares
minus the Sallies but they were literally right there
yee p much. If you're writing smthn I'd say like, basically whenever civilian deaths starts being disruptive for imperial infastructure/interests
I guess "pragmatism" has something to do with it. The MMs were at least killing Orks while they killed civilians which is still a plus in Imperium Math
so marines can murk however many random civvies they want, but if they start messing up imperial manufacturing by murking all the workers it becomes a concern
that vibe prolly makes the most sense
At the end of the day, anything that could disrupt taxes is a big no-no
Here krug, i made this for you
nothing would be different
just like 50 novels of terrible family drama would be deleted from existence
Primarchs rock
My ni-
fight fight fight
whoâs we i have nothing to gain from this
They sure are overrated but dont take my buddy konrad away
is that what happens to vulkan?
Isnt vulkan like immortal?
who did it
Ye
Grammaticus
he sounds like he was in the man for all seasons
Bruh whats that name lmao
or whats that movie called
He got like a megaknife. Something about solidified emperorâs electricity
Legion best book sorry
is he an english proffessor
Best HH book barely has any spacemarines lel
its spelled professor

HH books suck
i recently rewatched that childhood anomaly
johnny english is great
LMAO
god that movie was fun
also the only comedy spy movie to have its sequel be better than most fucking Bond films
i liked the ending, reminded me a lot of the blackadder imetravel movie
Yeee its a good movie but the sequel is a lot better imo
thats cause atkins is from blackadder
johnny english had a sequel?
Yep!
well yeah but its the same ending
hes a comedy writer, an actual national treasure
atkinson becoming king of the uk for a short while
ill check it out, sounds good
whatever happened to that sacha baron cohen spy flick?
was it even good? im assuming it wasnt
it wasnt if its the one im thinkin of
atkinson has hole rights but only insofar as he's in the season 2 blackadder getup
including the beard
wtf ratty
did i stutter
just been flashbanged with words, i didnt need this as im gettin outta bed
I..

does hole rigths mean what i think it means
No more hole usage
peak man according to ratty
i will banish ye
offer up yer holes
đł
according to the objective truth
the other blackadder incarnations dont have the beard, it's not the same
i liked blackadder 1
idk it's just not the same character. I like the other three cus of how well atkinsons witty long suffering vibes play off everyone else being goofy idiots
with him being a goofy idiot too it doesn't work the same
yeah the first one is just not cunning
black adder and monty python are like
i would have liked s1 more if it had more uh
peak comedy
blackadder is the watch rowan atkinson suffer show and this is as it should be
the ww1 season was depressing af
glad they managed to do a good comedy and still pay respects
yee that hit a v good balance. Mainly cus of the ending
it doesn't feel like. penitent. cus of the subject matter, but it also doesn't turn ww1 into a meme
yeah
its like, heres black adder
and then the ending is just like, "we are aware enough"
nods
Hey what are some god reasons for a space marine chapters to hate primaris marines
My Chapter is gonan follow the imperial cult and are only gonna be first borns
Boooooo!! Shame on them for betraying the ideology of big E
Not really many other that stubborn attachment to tradition
Iâm thinking that they believe primaris stray from the god emperors visions
And that they donât share the defects the rest of the chapter does
You can say that they hated the Vanguard as as such demanded to be separated from the Primaris, or they might just consider Cawl an heretek and his creations heresy because he modified the Emperor's creation
Well, then what will they say to the emperor emissarius that bring the primaris to them?
-Fear of being replaced
-Distrust of the unknown
-Primaris being a corruption of the emporers work
-The guy doing all the work is an actual tech heretix thats getting away with it
Probably extreme violence
Noice, the custodes will like this very much
infact the custodes do, since the custodes killee a bunch of primaris
the custodes are there because they dont trust the primaris to not rebel, and have wiped out entire groups under suspicion
Custodes dislike astartes, so anything that they can use to kill some is good for them
My chapter is gonna specialize in mainly purging cities, like if a genestealer cult uprising is happening they would prefer that battlefield
A chapter doesn't comply even when an emissary of the emperor tell them to do so? Heretic!!
custards dont like anything and are useless. love the fact the new lore shows them fucking up an entire anti GSC operation nd dying

Custards like big E... Which i don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing
And believe the fire they produce is truly fueled by the god emperors fury
custards honestly just have dreadful lore, almost as bad as cawls
Also custards don't love when one of theirs die because astartes
I liked cawl, until I just started seeing him in every fuckinh g Wikipedia page
cawl is just, deus ex mechanicus
all new issues in the setting are solved by cawl pulling shit from his ass
I like cawl, but GW used him in an awful way...
Ah, yes, volkite weapons are extremely rare and few know how to make them... Lest equip all primaris with neo volkite pistols luls
Deus Cawl Mechanicus
Same logic with anti-grav
Let's not forget him terraforming tyranid-eaten planets
At least. Fabius is just a better cawl now
what
Wait that makes sense a little bit
I think
But that seems like it takes more resources than itâs worth
At least that they had the land speeder that could retro engineer or some anti grav bike still used by dark angels, for volkite only the highest techpriest of mechanicum could produce them, and we all know that the mechanicum don't like to share things
Not really since Tyranids are supposed to turn the entire planet into a barren rock
it made some sense frank, but then they made it nids dont actually eat worlds
they just wkim the surface so worldscan recover
TBF i don't see any problem with this, just bad old nids lore...
With that logic they could also retro engineer the Dark Angel plasma technology since those guys know volkite
I mean they terraformed Mars, but that was dark age tech
Yeah now nids are just surface feeders
Yes but Mars still had life on it
Aka even today we find life on Mars
Indeed they could... If the DA would share it, which they don't
Such as in the water etc
Wel itâs not like the terraforming takes like only a few days right!
It would need to take years
Decades
Right?
He said something like 300 years but its 40k so time doesn't mean anything
thats the only bit they got right, he says it'll take a long time
But yeah its another way to make the imperium pyrhic victories mean nothing
Since now they can heal Baal and the surrounding planets
Canât wait to find out the terraformed just slaps nurgle plants onto the planet or soemrhing
but ye seeing as most people in lore live for centuries
that means they'll see the terraforming within their lifetime
Damn it
the major threat of the nids leaving barren, unliveable rock? gone
Whats a good name for my space marine chapter, i only have 2 ideas written down
city burners and the cleansing flames
I love it
â¤ď¸
I don't like that shit one bit
Why are the writers missing the point
i think id hate it less if it was like
further down the line after research
have some stories based in consumed systems
but no, just fixed
erases the threat of tyranids and also further undoes the thematic cornerstone of the imperium that is stagnation
in one of the worst ways possible
Not so much stagnation anymore since now Dark Age level of tech such as Antigrav, Hellblasters and Volkite are common
i refuse to acknowledge that beyond space marines having that shit now
Oh no I meant that All Primaris have that shit
And seeing how Primaris are literally chained produced by Cawl
Like imo that shit's fine, they had antigrav and shitloads of plasma and whatnot back in 1st ed so whatever
Attributing it to one guy for the sake of selling space marines? Well that's annoying but fine
When they've remembered how to terraform planets? That's when it gets ridiculous
Nah the only antigrav was the land speeder and only 1 kind of unstable plasma
whos ready for the IG update with the new tank that was leaked
IG hover tech lets goooooo
No you could literally make up grav tanks there's a rules section for creating vehicles and there was like a 25% chance a squad of marines would have one if you used the random chart for unit creation
So homebrew
Not really homebrew when the book itself was like "yes marines have lots of grav tanks and whatnot"
"We're just not gonna list the patterns because WE DO NOT PRODUCE VEHICLES YET"
Yeah a 20+ y old book that was replaced with Antigrav is super rare
this was 1st tho? which was rogue trader edition right?
And then replaced with Cawl rediscovered antigrav stc
"Instead, here's a guide on how to make a land raider in your own home using other kits and household items"
ye 1st is entirely none cannon for lore
wince everyone including eldar used bolters
It's annoying that there's so much antigrav shit now don't get me wrong, I prefer tracked vehicles since there's something very thematic about seeing a power armored soldier ride around in a ww1 tank, but grav vehicles by themselves do not undo the technological stagnation as a theme
The implementation of them with cawl kind of does, he didn't even rediscover them he just flat out reinvented them
But shit like terraforming planets? Too far
Unless you used an excuse like "okay so this ONE PLANET can be terraformed using this daot artifact that immediately breaks after we use it because we don't know how to fix it or how it even works outside of how to activate it"
Yeah fair
Though mass terraforming on the part of the imperium would be weird regardless
Like it seems more likely and fitting for the orks to figure out how to do that than the Imperium
Mass terraforming seems too much yeah, but I see nothing wrong with sometimes the Mechanicus terrraforming important planets for example
Maybe
As long as it's still portrayed as the 40k equivalent of chimpanzees trying to work out how to use a nuclear reactor
look at these barbarians.
these are the greatest minds the imperium has to offer
Supposedly its gonna be a "midway point between a russ and a malcador" ? I think
I cant quite remember
Funnily enough
Currently on the tabletop leman russ have better armour than baneblades ever since they weznt 2+
ye arent baneblades just kinda bad atm
Always have been since 8th
fuck 8th
With the new terrain they don't even fit anymore

baneblades in the lore: one of the mightiest weapons of the guard
baneblades on tt: useless trash
iirc theres only 2 variants worth using, and both are not worth the point cost unlees you qre fielding it to counter something
i dont know how to feel about this first colorscheme
hm
Looks
Fine
I think it's fine
I like the asymmetrical colors
The pink
As opposed to red
Can you paint it tho
imo its too much with regards to picking out specific sections for alternate colours, I'd say change the colour of the skull (either a darker red or grey/silver or bone) and maybe unify the colours on top of the helmet?
atm feels kinda like a harlequin scheme around the head area (grey face mask, mix of orange red and purple/pink with no specific purpose)
thats just me tho
ahh
i tried to drift away form the usual fire look
but i might have gone overboard
changed the skull
na thats fair, and its just my opinion on it. I tend to do pretty drab schemes so prob not the best person for bright colour theory
to me that looks better because the previous red was jarring against the collar imo
ahh yeah i see
i think im gona change the area between the legs and chest
the crouch and the stomach colors are meh
i think if you have the codpiece match that area in colour it might look fine?
that way it looks like a unified section that goes under the belt
Itâs not his fault heâs the star scream of 40k.
i also swapped around the back pack colors
maybe have the helmet colour split and have that top bit also split? (does it let you do that?)
đ¤¨
good band
What a good and trust worthy contact!
This seems best to me
Nothing possibly could go wrong
Lmao gonna end up as an honorary genestealer cultists
Try to do as many genestealer cultists contracts as possible
yeah i thought that was a bit strange
:(
Just on the sense of color theory
colors opposite in the spectrum or leaning against eachother often work the best
if youre looking for standout colors, mute one of them and make the other a tad brighter, this takes away the sharpness of a scheme
i hope it helps in deciding what you want
Thatâs actually super helpful! Iâll darken the red and brighten up the yellow
Np
maybe give the orange the same wash as the red when you go and test a model
itll tie it together more while keeping the yellow more standout
Okay!
Also do you have any tips on freehanding decals?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_Ydt3fXVxo
i am very tempted to split this box just to have the chaos side
The omens have all pointed to this â a new Warhammer 40,000 boxed set featuring the Aeldari and Chaos. https://bit.ly/3msf8Hp
Don't forget to like, share and subscribe and to ring the bell to make sure you keep up to date with all our latest videos!
but i think i still may want to hold out for world eaters tbh
Yeah I love this box set but itâs not worth it for me for the chosen
only that you can use sharpies on model and give yourself guidelines with thin lines
Mainly because you just use 30k emperors children for chosen
also
look at where you want to go
dont guide the brush with your eyes, look at your target
its a small trick to learn straight lines easier
another fun fact is that you can remove paint with a moist thumb
Oh nice
if you fuck up the line, wet your thumb or give the model a quick lick
đď¸
just a gentle wipe should do it
Iâm just gonna paint fire onto the model so I donât need straight lines just smooth ones
yeah
using the hairs of your brush as an indicator is helpful
aka if you pull the brush up to that pointy tip, use the flow of the brush to finish the point of that flame
dont try making it yourself that forcefully
Okay!
im buying this. does anyone know its release date?
probably february at the earliest i would guess
ok
For someone who supposedly loves "everything" in 40k lorewise wolf lord rho's channel sure does seem space marine focused
Never watched him tho but given the videos listed I imagine he might be one of those guys who miss the point
Hope he's not
Yeah it's literally just space marine lore wtf
loretuber moment
this is why i recommend new fans just read up and avoid loretubers
Yeah fuck this guy he peddles dumbass shit like the "emperor planned everything guys!" fan theories
i hope gw writers don't look at that shit for inspiration
so i wonder how conrad would handle the fact his sons are now all criminals
I mean we know how because he realized his sons were all criminals
oh i didnt know that
And let the assassin kill him
or maybe he didn't but he seemed depressed regardless during the scouring
I mean
That was why he hated his legion during the heresy
majorkill said he more or less ripped his own head off when the assassin failed to kill him right
good question
why are you watching majorkill?
very
All i want for new years is something from darktide to nibble on, i dont care if its big or small. Screenshots, lore.. something
What would happen if a gene stealer infected a space marine or if a gene stealer cultist managed to become a candidate to become a space marine? Is either even possible?
Perhaps a better scenario would be how quickly is the first person infected physically changed and could they infect someone who is training to become a space marine?
Marine organs reject the infection and it kills them
Ok
So with the story of space hulk death wing how serious is tyranids getting their hands on gene seed in general?
What could a Queen make with it?
how exactly does one become infected by a genestealer? i hear its weird
Tyrant guard are supposedly from marine genome
A purestrain injects a dna parasite via throat
Into the victims abdomen
Well when a gene stealer loves someone very much he sticks them with a needle against their will.
ewwwww
i havent
Interesting
Please show us.
Thatâs a tongue???
Yus
yes
so its like what the predalien did to those prego women in AVP2 kinda
Pretty much then
thats so horrible i feel bad for the GSC now
Also spoilers. I accidentally bought a European copy of AVP2 so I havenât seen it yet
Ridley scott would like to have a word
lmao
yeah the original genestealers were literal xenomorph knockoffs
RIGHT down to the exploding egg
they got their base improvements a bit later on
wtf is that
Old genestealer cultists were somethin else lmao
shit like this is why i ignore the cult lol
lmao why
Noooo
its silly as hell, its great
its just weird
I love the old gsc
And the idea of adding drip gold chains to your alien overlords out of worship is great
I like that the new gsc sometimes paint symbols onto their purestrains
that spiders sac
Reminds me of that reddit post
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
yeah the cult just gets weird with its strangely sexual nature and thats why i avoid it. same with slannesh cults
I mean it doesnt
literally none of that is really explained in-detail
because it indeed would gross people out
fair tho that doesnt stop some members of the fandom from doing so lol
like afaik the implantation is some weirdly romantic thing due to mind control or something
which imo lessens the horror aspect of the GSC
but thats just me
Ah ah cult goes frrrrrr for making new cultists
They go overdrive for reproduction yeah
I mean you're talking like its not an unusual things for people coming from poor countries having lots of children
Broodmind influence also helps ofc
no im talking about the purestrain's parasite
the stuff that comes later is ok
an event that should be something right out of Aliens 2 is insteed a peacefull and romantic afair
I mean kidnapping is part of the game
lol
Dude in the background is literal pog emote
lol
imo the tyranids should be treated just like the xenomorphs in alien. beings of pure horror and nightmare with nothing redeeming about them. same with the cult
Tbf nids are a lot more problematic than xenomorphs
true
and the whole point of the cult afaik is to give the nids more diverse character options or something
and pure breed nids are already very xenomorph in most ways
looks more like the screaming neckbeards pointing at some stuff behind them
Lmao
i nearly forgot why i stopped interacting with 40k fans as much as i used to
nice to have a reminder
Less than 50%

Im sorry what
He doesnt see the 500+ shit dimenovels that BL puts out every year
Even though the Nurgle books are quite good and encourage people to read it
yeah but does what I'm saying sound unreasonable
"It'd be nice if space marines got a bit less attention in favor of other factions"
does that sound unreasonable
Am I crazy?
nah i think that makes sense
The world of blind entitled people probably
"You should take a break for NOT LIKING SPACE MARINES ENOUGH"
what server is it lmao?
While ill say that Krug you dislike 40k a bit much sometimes (ironic coming from a girl like me) but theres nothing wrong with finding half of the shit in the setting pretentious imo
its one of the reasons why I never will hang out in any other 40k discord considering half the stuff we'd talk in here would be pretty taboo
I find it super cool when humans worship Xenos and crap
Like that one planet that worshipped Eldar
rip
I know there are planets where necrons are worshiped
so whats the deal with khorne and the number 8?
so he is OCD kinda
Oh every chaos god has a blessed number
oh
Slaanesh is 6
let me guess Tzeenth is 13
hm
I know this because a lot of thousand son spells need 9
And emperors children get benefits when they roll a 6
Not like ork level shit but like
âPog more damageâ
Basically just for the religious demonic number gimmick
no other reason
I believe a lot of Khrone units have a movement of 8?
also mostly what Frank said
It's from a place of love, at least I'm not like those guys on youtube who complain about everything new in 40k
I just want it to get better
He is ? From what I read some of his trees got burnt
i like that tbh. big e should be more than a glorified battery
WHAT IS THE PLOT AND HOW IS IT MEANT TO END???
does the emperor win and suddenly become a goodie?? but gw you put out a message saying he's a baddie I'm confused aaaaa
STRENGTH a lot of Khrone units have 8 strength
lol
Once again
one of the reasons I hate Black Library lmao
too many cooks in the kitchen
One moment chaos gods are suppose to be unknowable eldritch horrors the other book they are just acting like dumb toddlers that throw a fit at anything

its the same as people saying they compass multiple galaxies when that just makes no sense and makes 40k a lot less meaningless
LOOK I was trying to be nice
like how many branches does GW have for its lore writing anyway?
I legit got no idea
most authors usually ask other High Levelâ˘ď¸ ones for help?
like if you're a new guy you can ask people like Abnett or Thorpe when they get time
some book opening pages actually start with "thanks to these people for the lore edits" etc
.........
I know some authors like French do regurlarly call each other
But that doesnt stop them
to much freedom is a bad thing
YEP.
WELL WORDED.
like writers are still required to run the book through official sources tho
akin to how ADB wanted to add some female custodes but a decision from all the way up top told him no
so it really depends
some lore errors really easily slip by the radar
ala 5-6 space marines killing half of a dark eldar kabal in their home realm lol
Or the guy that thought custodes were just IG
or cato's necron baseball bat
lol yeah
the mid 2000's phase of 40k was A LOT worse with it
its improved somewhat but like i said before still way too many cooks in the kitchen
that stance is never gonna change to so complaining about it doesnt matter much

get up guardsmen or they will turn you into rations
yeah being in the GSC has the same ending as being in the guard lol
Heh
ok little goblins in my computer, lore question
do tyranids have skulls? i thought they were bugs and don't have any bones but the abbadon model says otherwise
i think if it was chitin it would preserve like the shape of the eyes but theres just holes there
Yes, they have skulls
Although those skulls looks like genestealers one, which can be nids, but also the parent race that get infected
Also nids aren't exactly bugs, people call them bugs, but they are just a mix of animal/bugs/monsters in general
Thank you saar
Yeah but they're bugs
I thought they were bugs so I was confused, and I don't know if Abby ever went toe to toe with gsc
Take in consideration that mine was a super summary, they are more complex than a few phrases
Abby the harmless?
I'm guessing he came in contact with a patriarch onboard a space hulk with a macguffin he wanted and then put its head on his trophy rack
Abby the preserver
Preserver?
Well, chaos for sure met the nids... An entire crusade of khorne guys went in the war between orks and nids just to kill everything they saw
do bugs leave tiny skeletons when they die?
like their exoskeletons
bug nerds help me out
then how come ive never seen say an ant skeleton
so the exoskeleton is chitin which is just bines that are more biodegradable
also ants eat their dead if they are carnivorse
the chitin too?
yup
Is that a spider filled ball sack?
more or less
god i love the lil genestealers paintjob
Its just an interior organ thats dangling since its been cut open along with the tongue lol
Pee is stored in the tongue.
what if my custom fire themed space marine chapter was a successor of the iron hands?
and they like to slap fire shit onto them selves
replace arms with flamers
replace completely fucked up and burnt limbs with cybernetics
maybe there would be an issue since my chapter is all firstborns
This joke applies to many levels of 40k
both literal and figurative
Oh boy I sure do love corpse dogs.
Hey what is a good time for a firstborn space marine chapter to be made
Founding
Thatâs the word
Whenever the highlords want more biological superweapons around, or one of other chapters, mostly those that are old, petition for the creation of another chapter... Or even the inquisition want to meddle with some geneseed
Thatâs actually, a really good help
If you go to Lexicanjm you can check out the timeline of the space marine foundings and why they were founded
wasnt one one the foundings just for containing the eye of terror?
Not containing it, but to patrol its border yes
Would it be overkill for my hyper religious fire obsessed first born space marine chapter had a geneseed mutation that let them heat up their body temperature would commonly have instances where their armor literally melts into their skin?
And they see it as a good thing
And thatâs why they canât even become primaris even if they want to (they donât)
I love these old drawings itâs like warhammer themed Rorschach tests
I mean, they can have a malfunctioning organ that manage the body temperature, but if they get to the point they melt the internal layer of the armour they are pretty much burning, without much possibility to remain alive imo
Ferrus manus was capable to heat up his hands to use as tools when forging iirc
Oh I didnât know that
Yeah Iâm planning on making them iron hand successors
And they would cut off burnt up or meted limbs with cybernetics
Something akin to the bad guys in one of the iron man films if i understood right what you are aiming for the body temperature
Iâm not sure, but like ferrusâ is exactly what Iâm aiming for
I like them
I also like a fan artist who does all of his work in that older style
It's gruesome tho
I think he coupled this piece with the explanation that it's depicting the purge of allied troops after fighting daemons to minimize the spread of corruption
"If man lives like vermin, then why not eradicate him when the prudent need arises?"
He usually writes these little short pieces alongside his illustrations to provide context and the good thing is that a LOT of them are slice of life
It's not the best writing but the art sells it
Whatâs imperial up with human skulls
Like
Thatâs a lot of human skulls
I get the metaphor
âOh death is so common skulls are just being used as decorâ
But âyeah I hung up these skulls in the kids room it really lived up the place!â
iirc the tech priest make the skull propes they use out of fallen acolites that died before their full indoctronation
oh you just mean the decorative ones
cus memento mori is a cool aesthetic
If I'm remembering right, the human skull represents the Emperor's sacrifice/internment within the Golden Throne. Combine that with an ultra-religous society and bam, skulls everywhere.
It could also, and this is me reaching here
be a "Symbol of humanity laid bare."
Literally a symbol of our shared humanity
(See: Humanity and the human form is beautiful.)
I remember reading something about a genocidal csm legion/warband causing big problems to the imperium through genociding planets and retreating is there any lore on that?
Thats pretty much every CSM warband
considering all their objectives is to just kill imperials
The khorne crusade thingy?
Where they followed this red comet or something
Until the legion of the damned fucked them over?
If it helps they were dedicated to nurgle @storm jungle @peak hamlet
The purge?
No idea then
was it the start of the plauge of non belief or something?
Check this

so i wonder if a second attack on culdara would trigger vulcan to return like it did in the war of the beast
Eh eh eh, plot hole!
lol
isnt there some kind of prophocy that the salamanders have to fine a bunch of random artifacts he made for him to return?
Yes, they need to find the items that vulkan has somehow hidden around the galaxy, that will prove they are worthy of being lead by vulkan again
BL writers love mcguffins placed around the galaxy
cus im convinced they're actually just discarded code of legend of zelda characters that gained sentience over time
lol
What exactly caused him to lose faith in them?
Plot
And it is not he lost faith in them, it is a test
Basically they wanted all the primarchs out of the picture then?
