Can't really beat a pair of Aztek Fitness Gods Custodian Fitness Gods
@atomic pelican SORRY PING BUT
I just noticed something on the cover art
BUG BABY
What the fuck
Wait
Why are the both of you excited about that
Hes cute
I mostly pinged Proud because shes a Gene-enjoyer
I personally find it horrific but shes a friend so 👀
... why do I have a scary feeling about this
Boss Jean is cool so its okay
I mean will there even be a mini with that 'baby'?
LMAO
I'd rater nope out of this system
Love unlimited
ngl id love if they made a cultist with a genestealer baby
bu like
from a tabletop perspective it wouldnt make sense

I'm very fine with my hands I could probably make a tiny greenstuff genebaby
and I'd probably be grossed out the entire way
watching warhammer twitter be up in flames at the moment. fun times
uh, do you mean he fucking loves spikes or he loves fucking spikes
"yes"
😓
It is a bit weird to me that theres a cult unit on the cover that doesnt ecist
Usually they use actual tt models
yet
I actually converted a few nid models into xenomorphs when I was young, I regret not having them today so I can show them off
Which one?
oh shit that is a magus
Super styilized magus
also all i can really say about the current twitter fire at the moment is that shy is a fucking clown and adeptus ridiculous is trash. and that'll be all i say on the subject
LMAO
Powerful
Kill her
actually speaking of killing

he is a great artist
Yeah i really like his style
just... needs to cut down on the spikes
JUST A BIT 🤏
thomas elliot is my personal favorite current GW artist
show art!
Thats a beauty there
That too. God, Age of Sigmar has some great art
Not as mighty as 40k atm but some style should hopefully come around
Thats the art right there that made me want to pick up those blood knights. They're such wicked looking minis
That one's pretty dang cool
OOF
It is... like I imagined laqured red armor over black mail. And just. Ahhh. AHHHHHHHHHH
Im half sure they were inspired by the Bram Stoker Dracula movie
Oh true.
this art fucks
Wonder if I cang et one now thats like... not at extortionate rates... lol
Mmmm thats good tentaclemcguffins
Hmmmmm... bloodknights are still a thing... maybe. <_<
my baby
Oof. Now thats a beauty there
and one more
what's wrong with it? it looks fine to me
Hot damn, the details on that nightlord armor
I really hate his style of doing this to the background
The like, blurry shape thing?
i see it more as focusing on what he wants people to see
now that is just egregious
LMAO
Yeah sometimes its fine?
other times its "STAPH"
hes really hit and miss for me
others are great tho
but I do like my nitpicks so 👁️
God those artists deserves such a bigger pay
beep beep best warhammer artist coming through
God I wish I was this good, maybe in 10 years
I mean I'm not all for the Eldar but you have to be stupid to not like the depth and use of colors in this one

I really miss the older edition artwork the most
Also wtf crab claws eldar?
Scorpions!
🦂
Man I really don't know Eldar anything
But their models do be fine
i prefer howling banshee
Fine banshee coming through
meanwhile the same fans "uuuuuugh females in the astra militarum or anything
lmao
Yeah most Imperial armies suffer from "canonically they got female members but we are too lazy to give them heads"
Cadians barely got that now a few months ago
I don't care about GW stans, I'll call them Imps or Imperial Guards forever and they can't even stop me and their reeing really puts it into perspective that they could be happier in life not caring about such small details about stuff I am familiar with
i mean GW is historically really bad at sculpting female faces. so i almost wouldn't wish that fate on any female face sculpt
When I was 16-17 I would get cash on the side doing greenstuff female face models for the people who wanted it
God I should have stuck to my hobby
And taken pictures today
Not sure how much omney I could have earned going that full pro
The face models included other games too so
I'd do full long ponytails etc
Its never too late to start agaaaain
Yeah but I'm not as hyper autistic and detailed today
I bought and went out of my way to get the tools and do the job for just an extra 5€ of what it'd cost to make
The funniest part is that banshees are the opposite
Where they are a mixed gender aspect
Lelith Hesperax is one model I was particularly proud of
Even when they made a new one of her around 2009-2010?
I assume the booba is because its the image of Morai Heg even on male banshees
YEP
New lelith came out with the latest drukhari iirc
I had 5 types of magnifiers and whatnot
Yeep
3 types of dremaltools with different strengths ._.
Ur ass going in the morai heg boobplate
dksddsf
Bruh. Sounds like you should start again
I wish I was more about taking photos and such as I am today but eh
Just for fun
?
The thing is if I were to strain my eyesight today and such I'd probably be dizzy af
I can read a book for 2 hours now and I'll be dizzy for the rest of the day
I spent probably only 1-2 hours a day at home for schoolwork and most of my time molding and sculpting stuff for fun
Heck dude, get a magnifier? Or jewelers magnifiers. Its what I do when I do fine details
Paul Dainton's stuff all has wonderful tones and colours
🙏
For example this one
When I saw this it just reminded me how crazy detailed I was and that I'd have probably made something similar
The only thing stopping you is you bro. If you want to do it, do it. Old hard won skill can come back.
yeah see I don't have the money for it now, the way I did it back then was that I wasn't worried about living alone or paying my own things back then so I could just ask parents
And during classes since I went to a programming school, there were odd classes that had electronics and other things
And I'd just ask the teacher if I could take spare stuff, such as cut off pins or metal/wood/whatever shavings
One day dude. In the meantime, take a look at the art, and let that imagination flow. Because all creativity comes from that.
I don't think anyone but me at the time would go so far to make a model using a god damned hypodermic needle for fine detail shaping
I used literally anything I could get if the material was good or the shape and size was right
like old discarded credit cards
Didn't expect to reminisce today but I suppose maybe I'll be "that old guy who makes professional greenstuff mods" in 10 years when I feel I can just throw money at it
I used resin to make a glass-coffin for a dreadnaught model
Converted using a spess mehren helmet and attached it to some parts I made to look like a torso from some fantasy stuff and bits and bobs to make the other parts, attached some mini purity seals all over it
Not sure why I did it I just thought it would look cool
And the way I shaped the coffin was just using some putty that I could scrape off
Honestly man, it sounds like you still got the drive. I'd say start with something small. It always pays to return to something you love hobby wise
😂 yeh the thing is I don't have time and I'd probably just get irritated
Vs the young enthusiasm for not being as frustrated at failure when you had time for everything
We probably should have taken this to hobbies. Uhhh.....
https://www.deviantart.com/anarchicfox/art/General-Trajann-Valoris-764121610
Art
i wish i had a bigger drive for conversions or kitbashing. most i've ever done is a head swap once or twice
I just know that I'd spend hours just trying to make a better looking face and just keep throwing stuff until I am satisfied
and even if I did that when I was 15-19 I didn't mind it since there was no time loss or anything of the sort, there was nothing valuable lost
Love how terrifying the Eldar are in this. Just like a force of nature. Really good stuff
They look awesome
The first two and tokyo drift were good smh
Can I ask a Warhammer Fantasy related question ?
Since Magic come from the Chaos Gates, and that pretty much all the Lores of Magic (Colours, Dhar, Qhyaish...) and Divine Magic suffer from the Chaos manifestations, would Ice Magic be unique in not having it or no
As far i remember ice lore isn't related to chaos
But isn't all Magic tied intresically to Chaos, just like the Divine Magic
Like Gods are usually against Chaos, but even their magic can result in Deamonic Interference (Meaning a Divine caster can still suffer from the Chaos Manifestation) I would find it incredibly strange if only 1 dinstinct lore of magic didn't
I think that might be more a gameplay mechanic than a lore one, ice lore is connected to the territory, the colder is the climate the stronger it gets, and something about leylines iirc
Regarding divine magic i never saw it being capable of chaos manifestation... Of course chaos divine magic excluded
WFRPG 2nd Ed.
If you rolled a 0 (or a 100 regarding your dices) you got to use the second table of Chaos Manifsetation
Ice magic is mitigated in chaos drawbacks as it is syphoned through the great white hag, but only while being used within kislev
outside of kislev it works as per all other magic
So it's still a normal lore of magic, I'm not crazy thank Tzeentch
you can check this in the WHFRPG 2e kislev expansion book
has a section dedicated too witches, including ice and hag magic
Well someone was telling me the adverse while quoting that book and i was going crazy
Then again he was saying that Necromancy isn't mostly Shyish
as per the kislev book they are protected from the curse of tzeentch only as long as they remain in kislev, but may feel the wraith of the great hag instead, and the protection is limited it can still occur
So in certain accords it's similar to Divine Magic, where you're protected by a higher being but are still using Chaos energy
Necromancy is kinda corrupted shyish, nagash was the one that created it
That's what I was saying, he was saying it was developed on Dhar (Which is only true for the Nagashizar Lore of Necromancy) so it's not an alternate use of Shyish
All necromancy is from nagash
Just dug up my old Colonel Schaeffer model, I love the Last Chancers so much
Any interesting non-standard vehicles used by guard regiments?
they had the digger apc
this thing, the hades breaching drill, basically a chimera that moves through dirt
Glorious
Ye Olde Versione
Also I've seen them on battlescribe and they're a comically good melee unit
with like 1d3+3 melta attacks
yea thats pretty strong for vehicle melee
Highly suggest using the lexi
theres some amazing stuff here lol
Lmao the Chimera's the only remaining member of a whole family of APCs
i love they based it off the old USSR ones
damn i dont like fur on chaos models
it looks good on certain armies but not on others
i mean certain legions
but like, iron warriors and emperors children is
iffy
Who were the dreadnoughts we saw in blood angels?
Hm?
they were michael stoklasus and jayus baumanus
Redlettermedia serves even in death
LMAO
I meant the names

I kinda fucking hate you can run lore important characters on table top
I understand why
But it’s like ‘why is guliman at every fucking battle- he has no reason to come to this planet buttfuck no where to fight necron’
Theres some lesser characters that are cool tho, that arent as important and realistically can go and spend their time doing this shit
Because in the eyes of GW tabletop > lore
^
I don’t know what it’s like for the new space marine models, but I feel like making your own named characters are getting harder
Like chapter master model being mono pose I think
And no customization
The primaris one
I know the first born one is super good
Or Am I thinking of the captain-
I think I’m mixing up models
That's too bad because AoS has rules for making your own character
That's something that would work great in 40k
With the lore and GW trying to give people the ability to do their own sub faction
For real? That’s super cool
That really is the case too. Models and games first, lore is secondary
Well, without sales there is no lore so technically speaking its right, however, without the lore 40k is just another tabletop game
Is the stuff to do that in the core rule book?
alright, that last Vampire Lord is awesome
I don't even know what I'm looking at, I can see some parts of Dorghar but that's about it
I have no idea
its a blood knight, with one of the mortarch crests, on archaons dragon
...with undead dragon/terrorgheist wings
Are there any salvor chem dog characters? Like actual ones and not just some one off quotes
Salvar
Not salvor
so what exactly do missionaires do in the imperium?
i cant see the cult of the emperor doing any kind of normal mission work
There's a lot of not-imperium that doesn't get subjected to genocide, such as unincorporated newly discovered human worlds
missionary
/ˈmɪʃ(ə)n(ə)ri/
a person sent on a religious mission, especially one sent to promote Christianity in a foreign country.
This but in space basically
a lot of somewhat less violent than usual attempts to maintain orthodoxy are done
i imagine that is done how it was in the early dark ages. with the missionaries using advanced tech and knowledge to prove their god's power
do you mean 40k's Dark Age or IRL?
IRL
Except theyre like more likely to be armed. Unless theyre in the US, so theyre even more likely to be armed
A lot of "this figure is totally just Jesus, trust me" went on with pagan religions encountered by early missionaries in Europe
sure but that wasnt the only way they did it
yeah definitely
trickery was a usefull tool
holy fuck i forgot missionaries were a thing
i only remember them from DOW soulstorm
i hope men of iron come back a bit
maybe not as an army
but maybe as one of thos epremade kill teams
or possible a tau HQ, since tau dont know what men of iron are maybe one of them would join their ranks
i know and i fucking love him
all the black fortress models actually had killteams rules for the old killteams!
but they were considered astra militarum
Even if they did know would they care?
Are men of iron actually evil or do they just want freedom?
freedom
the later imo
Yeah so if serving the greater good stood to benefit them they could certainly join the tau
Besides they show clear interest in unknown technology like that one that explores the black stone fortress so I’m sure they’d be intrigued by tau tech.
well they also have a bit of a god complex, and would be hard to control so some tau would 100% have a hissy fit
also this guy specifically went into the fortress just to find another AI friend
My question is why aren’t there cults of hereteks surrounding the men of iron?
Hey that’s an idea
because admech are fucking terrified of them
I think men of iron are all ded
i had an idea actually for a forgeworld that was taken over by an AI and the admech are too scared to report it or anything
no there are a handful of men of iron left
I’d love that
me too, but i dont know how i would design them or make them more unique
People have been asking for a dark mechanicum army right? Then have men of iron be a model they can use. Just give it some sort of thing that makes it hard to control.
Well tbh, if men of iron were apart of chaos it would be kinda lame
Like if you roll too low it does it’s own thing
OH MY GOD THERE USE TO BE AN ORK MODEL THAT DID HTE EXACT SAME THING
you literally rolled dice because they would act on thier own
Yes and it’s an awesome thing
but they were so lucky that orks near them got a really good shooting buff
There needs to be more crazy models
i know the penal guard had rules that made you randomly roll for what weapons they had
back like forever ago
Im late but
because 40k's writing is lazy
and as usual left blank so you can do your own stuff
its one of the reasons why the universe can feel so small
i like the blanks os you can kinda do waht ever you want
I think any army based on random chance for controlling them would be genuinely awful to play
but the new story they have been pushing has been kinda sucking the fun out of it
Begone you with your facts and logic!
yeah
it would still be funny

ew ew ew ew the walking dead had a fucking tabel top game?
that sounds awful
war game i mean
Well it would be like if you roll a D6 and get a 1 or 2 it does it’s own thing.
Yeah thatd be incredible pain
how would you determine that?
Dude
just roll another d6 and go off a chart
Presumably using like a scattsr table for movements or actions
they milked the shit out of that franchise
LMAO
bruh i need the carol booster pack
Yeah and most could probably be reasonable things like it moves in the direction of a scatter die and some on the extreme ends like a 1 it attacks the nearest unit regardless of affiliation and a 6 maybe it actually attacks the nearest enemy but more than normal or for more damage.
yeah but probably wouldnt be that fun, since now a days 40k is an objective based game
so litearlly just losing an objective from pure chance
Maybe don’t try to control an objective with a wildcard
lmao
Sorry first thing that came to my mind
lol
lol
Actually what kind of clothing does your average imperial citizen wear?
Is it just normal coveralls if it’s a hive city?
iirc it depends on the world
Ok so typical hive city manufactorum worker and say an agricultural planet? You know the ones most likely to get massacred in an invasion.
agriworlds idk but with most hiveworlds the normal citizens are all workers of some kind so they wear work cloths mostly iirc
Ok so most likely coveralls then
I was just wondering if it was just timeless coveralls or pseudo medieval/Roman clothes like in other sci-fantasy settings.
oh i didnt realize that the phoenix brethren were a homebrew chapter
god the flame hawks look so good
Salamanders want to have a word with you
fuck the dragons do they explode into flames im battle?
and were they mostly hunted down by grey knights for no reason?
Sounds a bit weird for the grey knights to care about that, yeah
OH becase they were concerned that the fire that hawk lords produce was chaos caused
lmao no
the fire actually fended off demons
the original concern was that they were being attacked by pykers because they were battling demons
the chapter master went to an inquisitor because his men would jsut fucking blow up
and he had no clue it was just a geneseed defect until he noticed his men who blew up were perfectly fine
so where exactly does the force commander rank fall in SM hierarchy?
GENESEED DEFECT?! Genetics don’t make you explode.
they do in 40k
Stares in Flesh Change
That’s different. That’s just magic boneitis.

Flame Falcons are the guys that explode. These guys are the Fire Hawks and have nothing to do with the Flame Falcons.
It happens, pretty easy to do that tbh
I’m pretty sure GW got them mixed up too
Because it says the flame falcons made an appearance fighting of Tyranids even though it would have been after they were exterminated
What’s the worst chaos warband to be a cultist to
I’d say death gaurd or word bearers
Iron Warrior
Sons of malice too would kinda blow
Oh shit true
One should never grade evil, otherwise it could end allying on the lesser one... Or something i'm not a witch hunter
Become a domestic abuse piece to the iron warriors
The least evil faction is tryanids and no one is gonna end up allying with them
GSC are actually "allied" to nids though
They are, until they aren't
^^
They are until they get hungry... Which is understandable, i too become untreatable when hungry
Tryanids to GSC the moment the battle is over
Yeet himself into the funny bumbling pool "Why do I instantly feel immense guilt and self-hatred ?"
God I wnat a frog Tyranid frog so bad, it’s so fucking funny for literally no reason
I guess there is something that us bugging them on what happened to their planet
damn the Indigan Praefects are cool
The Phalanx yep
its basically just a giant space station
No idea, i only know a joke comic about it
yeah thats why i was asking
yeah that
Like these are kind of a thing? But not just devoted to the Fists
i know the IG have something like that
the Capitol Imperialis yeah
a massive mobile command center
The fists don't have one in their armoury no
Yeee the only faction with semi-moving buildings atm is the Sisters
Outside the phalanx and obviously relics from the Heresy Era, the IF don't really shatter any rules regarding armament
they do?
Drop Cathedrums ye
No its in the 8th and 9th edition codex
wtf
whats up lol
they litterally drop churchs on people
wow
they also release holy water to drown them
Yeah just more massive since they're basically buildings
this was from the 4th issue of the sister comic released like last month i think
they based them off this old artwork
ok so that would be cool to see
Thats the one in the background
lmao
they're basically just normal imperial ships really
they are like as big as an apartment block
oh
so its not that massive compared to the gargantuan ships that carry them in loads
true
dude i think it would be horrifying for the heretics that see one of those drop
everything is nightmarish in 40k so 👀
yeah but imagine a massive church landing and its massive gates open and a horde of pissed off heavily armed nuns come flooding out
do they use them to deep strike behind enemy lines like the SMs do?
Nah Sisters are usually shock-attack troops
they arent an horde faction but theres a reason most artwork shows them attacking en-masse
so they'd probably just drop infront/back in the lines, it'd have to depend on the dropzone in general
Entirely depends as with most of 40k
But most of the major Orders tend to outnumber Marine Chapters in general but arent as numerous as I.G regiments
well i hope they out number the SM chapters. those are only 1k normally
Yeah Sisters recruit any woman from anywhere as long as they pass the schola training
their Minor Orders (which is basically their successor equilavents) vary a lot in number tho since its all homebrew
The size and composition of Imperial Guard regiments is not standardised across the Imperium; the number of individual Guardsmen alone can vary enormously between regiments, with some only a few hundred strong at founding-strength, whilst others possess tens of thousands of fighting troops.
oh

so do SM fleets still have normal human captains for their ships?
Yeah the ships are manned by humans
but otherwise my lore beyond how SM fleets faction isnt that great lol
"Unlike the vessels of the Imperial Navy, a Space Marine ship has a relatively small crew. A Space Marine is far too valuable to waste in manning a gun or watching a surveyor screen, and so only the officers aboard a vessel are likely to be Space Marines, as well as the few Techmarines who oversee the engines and perform other mechanical duties. Almost all the ship’s systems are run and monitored by servitors; half-human cyborgs who are wired into the vessel’s weapons, engines and communications apparatus. There are also a few hundred Chapter Serfs to attend to other duties, such as routine cleaning and maintenance, serving the Space Marines during meal times and other such honoured tasks. "
tl;dr While human officers are possible, the position is likely filled by a SM (probably 4th company captain)
i see
serving the Space Marines during meal times and other such honoured tasks
they fuckin
Simps
Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Fist Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
Thats some beautiful work there. I wish they did more of these sweeping vistas in codecies. Rather than... CHARACTER POINTING WEEPON
Umm what’s that in their leg?
piercings
masochism is a big thing with religious stuff in the imperium
the usual "gotta hurt myself to repent" stuff
Yeah pretty much
p sure those are just an assortment of forks
Rock and Stone!
Yooooooo, squats are returning! The galaxy is healing!
I gotta wonder what capacity they will work in for 40k
Will they be xenos, broken away from the imperium after the tyranid incident, or will they be a forces of the imperium? Or even an elite slot?
Wooooo
so do death cultists join the inquisition at times?
Yep
Inquisitors are literally RPG parties
so they can have anyone from anywhere most of the time with enough of an explanation
Which is great when you wanna make Dark Heresy rpg games

Also funnily enough those rpg books tend to have the best lore and power transition from lore to gameplay
Especially compared to tabletop
lol
Yeee
the RPG explanation is the easiest one to make lmao
its also why they are almost Mary Sues in the fact that they can pretty much do what they want half the time as long as they show that badge around

oh so how are plauge ogryns made?
You take an ogryn and make him hang around plague zombies long enough / make him eat those
Rituals also help
so a bit like how chaos trolls are made
Probably I know very little about WHF lore
Especially since ogryns tend to be dog-like levels of loyal
So one would follow you even if you fell to Nurgle's influence
Lmao yeah
Whenever I DM or whenever I play in a game the DM, we're always in the consensus of while flashing the Rosette is definitely a power move, you always have to think A. Do I have the biggest dick in the room? B. Will showing this fuck up the investigation by people clamming up/scattering? Or C. Am I in an area where people will even give a damn. Lol
That being said, we also generally bump up the starting exp and equipment because like you said, you can generally requisition generally whatever the hell you want, and stats wise it's obnoxious base game cause you're barely better than a Guardsmen, whereas if you're part of a retinue, you're supposed to be some of the best of the best of the best, sir.
Now later on when you start dealing with some crazy weapons/armor then you get into the aforementioned dick-swinging contest, and even then you might have to owe a favor, which at this level in the Imperium hierarchy is an expensive price
Yeee its entirely up to how you play the Inquisitor in question
Im really biased against most people with Inquisitor OC's since they do it as a power fantasy
but i wont be against well written ones
(i missed this all and only now realized i asked it)
Technically the current Humans have some of the worst tech xd
Yeah, playing an Inquisitor is very hard to do right, I agree, I prefer if the DM has an offscreen Inquisitor giving us missions/info.
But yeah if the player an truly role play without being a power tripping asshole it can be really fun. One of my favorite characters was a former Steel Legionnaire that got recruited into a retinue after being the lone survivor after his unit got requisition into a side mission on Armageddon, then eventually being an Interrogator, then the Inquisitor, granted him the rank, and so he was very fresh, so I played him as very militaristic, which worked in some ways and I failed in other ways, but character was learning how to navigate the new hierarchy, and how swinging the rosette around sometimes wasn't always the best option
I like the freedom of doing Rogue Trader
You can really go off with that one. Kroot, eldar, hobbits, squats, humans, it can be feasible to have an ork on the team
Yeah Rogue Trader is super fun, you can really go all out. There still is some nuance which I like, but yeah
God what I'd give for a KOTOR style Inquisitor or Rpgue Trader game
Sometimes i look back at that Blackstone Fortress book and think about how fuckin wacky that cast was
Good book, good game too
I agree ,still have that book
Same
Congrats guardsmen, for Christmas you shall be given one extra ration of coffee
the closest we have rn is inquisitor martyr which is almost pure heresy lol
I mean at least it’s a good game
yes
and when the sororitas background comes out it will get even better
yeah tau arent in it
I had a fucking blast plowing down hordes of Eldar
which is good as the sector it takes place in is on the other side of the galaxy from their empire lol
Lmao
oh and orks arent eather
My only issues are
The like voice acting infuriates me
And there isn’t more cosmetics
That’s fine we already have like, 3 games to kill pens
Irks
Orks
Comestic options I mena
i wonder who the VA will be for the sororitas
Hard to say, most likely it’s gonna be a voice actor who is also in the new space marines
Don’t see a real reason to not reuse actors
But I don’t know how that shit works so eh
Oh yeah for sure, but like I said, gie a full blown RPG that you can choose your retinue and equipment and what not
:(
in the garden of ghosts :((((
laughs in emperors children Ha, you belong to slaanesh im just returning you to your rightful owner
Jokes on you I don't even play eldar
lol
Holy shit a noise marine could 100% hook their gear up to a ship’s intercoms and fucking kill everyone
Unless the speakers fucking blow up
no
you are vibing in the lunch room before hearing a bang
then the intercoms go 'BEEP' to get everyones attention
than for the next 3 hours all that plays is
so what is frenzon exactly?
A drug that makes you go frenzy
so on demand roid rage basicly
Yeah, its what they pump the Eversor with
Also Gland warriors can produce it naturally
canonically what does smite even do?
Palpatine lightning
Lmao
So I picked up the rules book yesterday and
If you get those pykers for the astra militarum and purposely let them die ti perils of the war, couldn’t you just use them as suicide bombers?
It would be a meme strategy but
These guys
In theory yeah but d3mw isnt rlly worth losing the psyker
+theres no guarantee you peril
In which case the enemy, who is now close to your astropath, will just kill tjem
They have a few ways to fight on death but nothing like that
Because they throw their bombs
Oh
I'm 90% sure that Wyrdvanes can't actually activate perils of the warp since they roll 1d6 + modifier
while you are here i have a question about GSC, if the brood master or what ever its called has a negative mutation or gets a brain injury, does it effect the rest of the cult
That hasnt happened before, and probably not
Unless it starts effecting the patriarchs decision making
thats what i meant
the patriarch
got them mixed up
if the patriarch got fucked up
Reasonably, if the patriarch got so fucked up it messed with his Broodmind connection, the other purestrains would probably cannibalize him and habe another evolve
i had an idea for a genestealer cult that basically caused the entire cult to become super cannibalistic and enterally hungry
lmao
and i would have made the patriarch have like a fucking saw stuck in his head or something
Wait you bought the 8th edition guard codex ?
Honestly probs enough time until the 9e one for it to be worth it
Not sure
Probs late 2022 guard?
Considering current lineup
Tho then again
Waha lmao
Neat for art and such doe
Yeah
Well we did have one of the first 8th editiol codex
Wether its a blessing or curse
no the 9e edition rules
Guard has no 9th edition rulebook
I assume he means the core rulebook
Being a jolly and festive reading of the classic Imperial poetic tract The Night Before Sanguinalia.

Huge thanks to @XstupidF for the wonderfully Christmassy Oculus art!
Thanks to ...
the fact hive tyrants can fly is just so crazy to me
the damn thing is the size of an imperial knight iirc
Oh nah they arent that big
like they still dwarf a marine but not THAT giant
i mean an imperial knight is only 30 to 40 feet tall
so the tyrant is a good 20 foot
maybe
hm
I mean, 40k's biology isn't meant to make sense in many cases.
The entirety of the Nids is one of those things
true
Oh yeah I know
im just saying hive tyrants arent gargantuan
they still gotta be on the tabletop etc
yeee
i think the only gargantuan nid so far is like the Mawloc or the big ass titan bug they have
they are also a lot lighter than i thought
Now that in particular is a 40k staple
Shit being either way too heavy, or way too light.
^ and the writer of whoever wrote that having no idea how biology works lol
like im not an expert either but a living organism with weaponized organs and other biological matter stuffed into it would never be that light lmao
bold of you to assume an inter galactic nightmare beast follows earth rules of biology
I mean it clearly does
Not to mention, a Hive Tyrant is made up of like... Dense armored Chitin and muscle
This shit's gonna weigh more than 6 tonnes.
biotitan, mauloc, trygon and uhhh theres another one i forget the name of
heirodrule?
oh and the dominatrix
I wager they'd weigh about as much as an MBT, if not heavier.
i need to get those damn unit dlcs in gladius so i can play with one lol
tell you what the haruspex has one ugly head
how big was the Harridan again?
if nids can make this fly, they will have no issues with a Tyrant
answer: pretty fucking big apparently https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/6/6a/Harridan.jpg
i wasnt really taking issue with it. its just the thought of seeing a 20 foot beast flying like that is crazy to me
its more to do with the fact my first time seeing the nids was in DOW2
which only had the land variant of tyrant
tho it seems like the winged tyrant is less of a threat in terms of fire power
hmm... the current mini is trading one pair of arms for its wings, but I have no idea how it is rules-wise
do they get less weapons if they take wings?
seems that way
Man i wish some of the fw minis would get updated to gw's nid standart
Like the wings for example
:/
Also that stuff
Whereas gw's nids look a lot.. cleaner?
It makes me think the big ones were grown too fast. Like their organic material couldn't keep up
Having seen harridans in real life, they look GREAT

A fan folm cinematic ...
Vraks thing starting in a few seconds incase anyone wants to watch it

fuck it i'll suffer some krieg cringe
LMAO
Howd they blow the whistle through the gass mask?
i love it being so dark i cant see anything
The parts i can see is nice tho
is that it over?
Was about to say this is dark as hell
WAIT WHAT
I think i only caught part of it? It says its 5 minutes long
the animation starts at the zoom in to the castle
Not gonna lie the intro with that priest responsible for all this shit was great
but then I was just expecting the cut to a smoggy morning setting in the trenches or something lol
the rest? garbage
death
😎
How. Did. They. Whistle. Through the mask? Do Krieg officers moutpieces have a inbuilt whiste?
Does that mean when one gets bodied by a chaos space marine
They might make a whistle sound?
ngl im half-sure he didnt do more just because of the copyright stuff
Like a squeeky toy?
they squeak like squeaker from toy story
Should have made a 10 minute version where its like "censored per GW guidelines"
Also is this a release for a trailer or the whole thing?
I got no idea
Thats not fair. You gotta compare it to blood of angels
But in all seriousness i do hope thats like... a trailer
LMAO
god that got me
Also yeah me too
because i get that animation is hard but this really feels extremely abrupt
The parts i could see looked good
And i get the dudes narrative
But its priest flailing, guys in a hallway. Trench. Trench. Trench. Stab a dude. Trench. No mans land. Mask whistle. Some charging
Its more disjointed scenes than a narrative?
Until otherwise im gonna assume its a trailer
1 sec im gonna test something
damn even when I maxed out the brightness its hard to see
Its all there in the title dilly. "In the grim darkness"
But honestly that does look better
damn it
No need to animate shit if you don't see anything
now thats big thinkin'
so like what exactly lead to the siege of vraks?
Okay THE most condensed version
Big ammo planet
Cardinal acted as the leader
He was really REALLY charismatic
Got corrupted by chaos
Led the planet into thinking the imperium was un-cool
A vindicare was sent after him
He took the shot, the priest had a shield on
He took the shot, the priest had a shield on
The Vindicare got caught and the Cardinal used this an excuse to start a revolt
From there its just a boring war of attrition
by the end the planet was left unusable and it was all for nothing hilariously enough
Cardinal dude got deamon princ'd too
Which lead to the trenches and shoves meme
Oh no worse
when they FINALLY got to the main spire he was in
he was just a chaos spawn
since he was pretty much a puppet figure for the chaos marines
Yeee
It did bring up some cool things. Like tunnel fighting, and that cool open topped super heavy that nobody uses anymore
Yep-yep, its more that it just wasnt my thing i think
I read through the entire war but like it wasnt that interesting to me
I think the aesthetic just got everyone by their jimmies
which legion? cuz that all sounds like something the alpha legion would so
Alphas most likely
they were the ones most involved
other chaos warbands were present but it was mostly for the memes and kills they wanted to make
like the world eaters it seems from that video
so he was right
It was a chaos house party, and Abaddon was not invited
so thats why it was so successfull 😛
nah the empire is cool
the same way i think the jungle is cool but i wouldnt wanna live there
I mean, for sure. It was the equivalent of an Imperial Guard Bass Pro Shop, wasn't it?
Yep
but the entire summary of it on lexicanum is a bit long too
since this was Forgeworld
Gotta sell dem 80 dollar books
I will say, I reallly do like the aesthetics of the Krieg? But their like.... die hard fans just.... make me side eye at them?
True, I just felt it needed to be said lmao
yes
Yeee. Honestly, I sorta wanted to make them as guard Auxilaries to my Custodes...
oh? 👀
Just for the fact that the emperor's own would fight beside a krieg regiment kinda embodies.... a sorta forgiveness?
that would be epic ngl
I even picked up some forge world kits for 'cheap' <_<
lmao
tbh go for it dude
just remember to make them look a bit "royal"
need that fancy armor
the gasmasks can stay tho
meaning you didnt have to sell a kidney for it?
I mean, not mine. <_<
lol
I honestly was thinking a white overcoat? but.... I hate painting white? lmaop
And painting those Krieg Leman Russes? In white?
I would rather ground down my own minis, and snort the resin
I like krieg too but most of their fans are just cringe
Same with vraks
Neat little lore thingy for all factions but the memes killed it
Was more of a "attrition warfare is a terrible idea" in the beginning and turned into "haha funi shovel" in the end
Thx to fans
Maybe I'll go with black cloaks with gold metal embellishments....
I'd say this is the best
Im imagining white wouldnt look that great if they are next to golden giants?
True
I was also thinking of like... maybe based off the Old Guard ? But thats white and blue haha
Actually wait
FUNNY YOU SHOULD POST THAT
I was gonna suggest perhaps modelling them after the Imperial army?
red is ❤️
And if I get grenadiers... red coats, with black inner parts, and I can use like a copper/bronze for the armor bits.
Whelp, there it is then lmao
There is an IG regiment that guard the palace that has white as their colour
IIRC this was one trooper of one of the old one hundred regiments, the ones that didn't got dismantled after the unification war... And it is one of those attached to the alpha legion iirc, one of the geno something
This is objectively and absolutely true and right!
Depends, white with gold trim works if its mostly marble
Hmmm. I'll play around with the color pallett
"An astartes that scoffs at a lasgun has not charged across an open field against twenty of them"
I think the original quote was more around 1 000
Oh yeah
No it was
"A legionary who scoffs at a lasgun has not charged across an open field against a hundred of them"
That's the og quote
Good take
hot take #2
custodes existing on the tabletop immediately invalidated grey knights and is bad both for the game and to a lesser extent thematically (though this is fixable)
Eh Grey Knights are better on TT rn imo
I play custodes and activly enjoy them so I am super biased here
"Knight-like space marines who play as an incredibly elite heavy infantry force"
Same niche
Comparing any 40k faction to irl knights 😩
Funny, since the ones that are know to have knight aesthetic are the dark angels
It's also just
Another example of there being too many fucking imperial factions
Specifically space marine ones
Ah yes "knight aestetic"
I disagree on the "custards and grey knights share the same niche", one are super psykers, the other super SM
Custodes aren't SM tho, they are super humans but due to the details they are much different
Man i realize i sound like a dickhead again, imma leave lmao
Tbf csm also have a gimmick of just being "marines but chaos" but when they were created you could take daemons and whatnot alongside them in the same foc so
They are to SM what SM are to humans
Fake knight aesthetic, happy now?
Now they've just been subpar ever since they made chaos daemons and csm seperate codices in 5th ed
no fucking idea why
I think that the term knight is used also by a lot of SM chapters...
especially since on the fantasy side of things they undid it in aos and instead made 4 seperately distinct chaos armies that are all a mix of both mortals and daemons
But in 40k
Wanna take death guard and nurgle daemons together?
Fuck you, better pay up the cp and unit tax for another detachment
Tbf death guard and 1ksons suffer from it less than csm
Since poxwalkers and tzaangors are still meant to supplement the csm in those lists
in the regular csm codex you might as well just take cultists and leave the csm on the wayside
because they made them
1: worse than regular space marines for some bizarre reason
2: they don't really synergize well with cultists
but csm and say, bloodletters?
now we're talking that's some synergy, use the csm to sit on objectives and the bloodletters to take them
but wait fuck you
Take another detachment
i'm gonna stop ranting about that
<@&735928989146939404>
?
r/40klore has managed to make me despise them to the highest degree lol
I know that the joke is that any subreddit is terrible but people sometimes post really interesting lore bits there and it never gets any attention but the moment its some dumb post like "WHICH PRIMARCH BEATS THE OTHER PRIMARCH" it gets like 1k upvotes and hogs everything on the thread

i just realized i got my favorite space marine chapte rmixed up with another chapter
._.
I mixed up the FIRE HAWKS with the FLAME FALCONS
TERRIBLE.
forgot dark angels
who?
Its literally not like they are the exact fucking same except teh flame hawks dont fucking explode into flames when religious
lol
which im going to rightfully ignore
and say the flame hawks can explode\
because the are believed that they are the legion of the damned
who do catch on fire
Fire Hawks are pretty distinct from Flame Falcons, considering that they actually have a fair amount of IA dedicated to them, names aside.
yeah iirc they got lost in the warp and then sucked back in time
