"The Grave Walkers are a successor of an unknown founding, with records of their origins long forgotten, whether through edicts of obliteration or simply the stagnation of time. First appearing within Administratum records in 573.M33, the dour and enigmatic fleet-based chapter were assigned to the very far reaches of Imperial Space in the segmentum Ultima, tasked to serve as patrol and guards for passing trade vessels and rogue trader flotillas.
Due to the distance from Holy Terra, the Grave Walkers naturally evolved to become logistical and mechanical masters, valuing self-sufficiency and efficient use of their limited resources, and often are seen scavenging battlefields for the arms and armour of their fallen allies and enemy alike. The Grave Walkers specialize in ordnance battery and close-quarters battle, key qualities needed to master the constant naval warfare they are subjected to. While a majority depict a clear preference for use of ranged weaponry, even in the close confines of ship halls, and no clear notice has been made of their martial prowess, multiple eyewitnesses from multiple Imperial organizations attest to the raw ferocity at which they engage the enemy, their bitter enmity towards the foes of the Imperium more than accounting for their lack of technique."
"The Eternal Warders are a proud successor of the Ultramarines chapter, founded out of the fires of the Nova Terra Interregnum in the 12th founding. Originally from the planet of Palaetius, the Warders were forced to become fleetbased after the obliteration of their homeworld by a simultaneous assault by WAAAAAGH Starkilla, a invasion fleet of the renegade astartes, and an incursion force by the Dark Eldar in 872.M37. Taking their duty with utmost sacredness, the Eternal Warders became a wandering chapter, protecting pilgrimage fleets to Holy Sites within the Segmentum Ultima.
Precision and speed are of top importance within the doctrine of the Eternal Warders, which the chapter understanding that their lack of celerity and expertise directly lost their defense of Palaetius. As such, the Eternal Warders seek to be masters of all doctrines, pushing themselves to each become individually great warriors. In this pursuit, the Eternal Warders have come to disdain indiscriminate and slow weapons like missile launchers or artillery, defaulting to usage of precise and quick arms. The Eternal Warders thus have become masters of set-piece warfare, predicting enemy movement and flanking them in perfect unison."
