just give me firewarrior 2 for the ps5 and ill be happy
Passive aggressive at the interviewer
Every author has a pet faction they are great at writing for
Abnett -> Guard/Ultramarines
McNeil -> Iron Warriors/Chaos Undivded
ADB -> "Sympathetic" Chaos and the like
French -> Imperial Fists/Thousand Sons
Wraight -> White Scars/Death Guard/anything that magic man gets his hands on
so on and so forth
I just feel their fans just absolutely fail to acknowledge they have factions they are good and bad at writing for.
Because he's basically like
"I did not enjoy writing this and I pooled a bunch of my rejected pitches and smashed them together to make it tolerable"
Good Eldar Authors?
no main ones
Books?
which is the 2nd book of the trilogy
Why tho?
French is really bad at writing Iron Warriors and Emperor's Children
ADB really fucked up Chaos undivided
McNeil needs to be kept away from actual mortals at all costs
Abnett can't write a good siege for the life of him
How do I put this
so on and so forth
He writes the eldarasbeing weak andpitiful
that doesn't make them bad authors
They're just better at writing certain factions
ToW: Why this story? Of all the possible stories you could have written about these characters, what made you go for this one?
JR: All my other ideas were shot down, so I improvised this one on the fly.
(except C.S Goto, that guy can fuck off)
ToW: What do you find the challenges are in writing large-scale Space Marine-led stories like this?
JR: I often forget that Space Marines don’t have a sense of humour. Trips me up every time.
Gav has full control of CWE, and then GW wonders why no one buys his books
They canceled his third book
because no one wasbuying
Thirdbook of the ynnari series
ToW: This is your first 40k novel set in the new Dark Imperium timeline – did that bring any additional challenges compared to what you’ve written before, or change the influences you drew upon at all?
JR: Not really. Or, at least it was no more challenging than 40K in general.
I think i remeber some complains about this guy or some books
Fun Fact: Gav has butchered 4 factions in his job time at GW!
Lmao
He's so fucking passive aggressive in the interview
I wish they'd fire his ass
He fucking hates this book
but he's old blood
GW seems to have a affinity for letting the same tired writers continue pumping out garbage rather than hiring new blood
He is responsible for
- Eldar. Period full stop.
- Releasing the god awful CSM 4th edition
- Imperial Guard 5th Edition
- Tyranids 5th edition
O O F
Ironically, Gav being a shit writer saved the eldar from assimilation I think
Because his ynnari books sucked so fucking much
No one bought them
Gav's forte (and why he got eldar in the first place) was that he had a good grasp on the high elves from Fantasy
and started hating the ynnari
imo
Phil Kelly: unlikely savior
He did a interview where he dispelled a bunch of the imperial salt about tau
As a vocal elf-disliker, Gav's high elf stuff for WHFB made them actually an itty bitty bit not hateable 😎
What
OF ALL PEOPLE
I don't have the link anymore but it was alot
no i was being sarcastic, but he is the lead about them
OF ALL PEOPLE
yea]
THE GUY WHO FUCKED UP THE TAU DISPELLED A BUNCH OF IMPERIAL SALT SURROUNDING THEM
very funny
Compared to old eldarlore
Where biel tan once defeated 11 marine chapters
defending a maiden world
To be a new 40k writer you have to love 40k because you aren't paid shit, and all of your ideas get stifled
should honestly multiply that chapter count by at least 5

Biel Tan are scary
Biel Tan kills all loyalists
YEP
That's why fucking gav
had to cripple them
because we cant havecool eldar
Biel Tan STILL going tho
Can't stop the green
i mean a fuckin conscripted art student sprinting at you with a bone sword should be scary
Green IS best
Also
Biel Tan and Alaitoc are my favorite but Alaitoc got embarassed by path of the eldar lmao
I've always found it weird that 40k has leaned so hard on the worst tropes of military scifi novels since like 4th ed
Probably because they hired people who were really into bad military scifi novels or something
fuck I want a novel which is just minotaurs and biel-tan buttblasting each other for 400 pages
I'm talking about the marine power fantasy that gets pushed
And is seemingly worse today than ever
no tau v CWE yet i want that
Like
Oh?
Please
I wish someone would write a shortstory about that minor craftworld and korvettra fleet who went off together
I can't remember the name
Perhaps I am a tau smallbrain (read: I definitely am. I've only read their 5th rulebook), but I don't really see the Tau and Eldar fighting.
LOL i havent heard about that ill check it out
Matt Ward does not have shit on the kind of stuff that has happened
Average gw salary is pretty bad at the bottom
It's just some minor mention in either the tau or CWE codex, can't recall
There's def reasons I can see tau and eldarfighting
Tau trying to assimilate amaiden world for example
ESP if the more angy eldar show up (Biel tan)
oh yea i want it to be like a misunderstanding and then at the peace deal, the eldar just gives the tau a talk like a tired senior giving a happy freshman a talk
or this yea
Eldar beast on Tau and create a Salt triangle with the Imperium
I want to see Honsou fight Shadowsun
Innovator from a faction known for doctrinal orthodoxy vs the Orthodoxy in a faction known for innovation
Or just IW fighting Tau
I want to see a Farseer edit the past
yea just like seeing a wraith titan crawling with suits blasting it sounds sick as heack
It's mentioned that they can
Fucking
What's also weird about 40k is that the fandom has become a nest of those who enjoy bad military scifi tropes that only work in settings designed around video games
AKA basically halo
The space marine power fantasy is outright celebrated by most of the fandom and gw just feeds the cash cow
but it doesnt happen
IW VS TAU PLZZZZ
I NEED IT
IW?
Whereas in earlier editions marines got shit on a fair number of times
Que?
iron warriors
best SM faction
sadness
Static firelines and zigzagging trenches against fast moving mobile firebases
Both are Firepower/Ordnance specialists, but their tactics are on opposite ends of the spectrum
It's actually rllycool how Seer goes into how time works in 40k
I like the Dark n' blood angels
Effectively, it's a loop of the galaxy which is why farseers can 'edit the past'
also the IW taking tau tech, and the tau managing to make some anti deamon weapons due to the connection of tech and deamon in the IW ranks
Farseer casting def my favorite
I also would like to see how tau react to their tech getting infected with scrapcode and the obliterator virus
well yea ur a loyalist XD
this too
tech battle
Aw man imagine Honsou infecting like a riptide with the Obliterator virus like he did with the admech dude in Storm of Iron
All of this stuff could be great for a youtube channel but like
Again
It would get shat on hard
and likely not garner viewers compared to loretubers and
"OMG BUY SPACE MARINES SO COOL" valrak
whogiv shit aboutviews
yea i just want deamon tech vs clean tech.
We doin this for fun
fair
Like the state of the 40k fanbase is that the main thing people complained about when primaris marines came about was "BUT THE EMPEROR DIDN'T MAKE THEM ONLY THE EMPEROR IS POWERFUL ENOUGH"
:c
like
I just wanna cool scifi universe
I'm sure it won't be all bolter porn but I can be wrong
i think primaris marines are fine but their problems are moreso indicative of the problems with space marines as a whole
the tau seeing scrap code and human 'ring of daggers tactics' and the IW seeing their logi lines explode along with big demon engines
Cant wait for the UltraMegaMarines in 2025 who get 5w while CSM still have 1
I actually like space marines I just struggle with their aesthetics
Shhhhhhhh
And also having 1cp better versions of every eldar stratagem
Like
Space marine plot armor has grown so powerful that it is now immune to the theme of stagnation present in 40k
Like I just want some primaris marines with some kind of downside when it comes to technology or culture
Have the primaris marines forget how to maintain their own equipment after a certain point because cawl fucking deleted the maintenance files in his head and all the backups got corrupted because it was 7,000 years ago so all the primaris marines know how to do is produce the equipment and then maintain it with primitive methods
20 years late and a codex short
Resulting in more mishmash heresy-esque equipment
Hey! I like word bearers and night lords!
That'd be really cool and could really lend itself to reviving some rogue trader era designs
Oh, I like them too
im jokin lolol, good anti loyalist choices
But nah we need space marines with hover tanks that kill dozens of chaos marines in the novel they debut in
Very cool, thanks GW
i might be an IW stan but i simp for Commander Sarrin, and for vezimira's tsons
Be me
Tau'va fire warrior Te'qui'la
Fighting against these hazard stripe wearing Gue'lla
TheySmell.jpg
Defending ethereal in siege, shit sucks
Hazard Gue'lla managing to keep up and sometimes even out maneuver superior glorious tau ordnance
Heard reinforcements are coming soon though
Stupid earth caste kept delaying supplies
See mass squad of riptide
ByAun'VaWe'reSaved.wav
mfw am obliterated apart by weird fleshy riptides shrieking about some "cult of obliteration"
Be me
Iron Warrior sergeant Sodius Chloridum
Fighting against some pathetic xenos, blue midgets calling themselves "Tau"
Literally naming themselves after an Olympian letter
Gettingtoooldforthis.siege
Sieging some random xenos city
Stupid xenos literally thin out as soon as they see us
RogalDornIQLevel.salt
Immediately rush the breach, this will be an easy victory
mfw instantly die to unit of stealthsuits carrying super-meltaguns
LAMO
PLZ
I would love to make a funny band of Brothers type thing with a group of guardsmen or tratior guard. Either way the team will have a combat servitor that's just major kill stuck saying "kiddy fiddling priest" and so forth with every action
FUCKIN SGT SODIUS CHLORIDUM
im so dead
so is Sodius Chloridum
o7
He will be forever remembered as a combat statistic filed away in Medrengard
yea taus stealth is one of the most under utilized thing in their lore
highest honor for an IW
Tau stealth must be such a terrifying thing for most other factions to deal with
because they can use it on such a large level
Ghostkeels are my fave since theyre massive yet sneaky
conventional war logistics is very susceptible to just getting screwed
yea i want to see some armor colum just get nuked by a GK and some stealth suits
exactly
bless the taros campaign and GKs didnt even exist then
mfw I read GK as "Grey Knight"
fav fuckin vid i donmt care
if the new tau codex is good im posting that everywhere
ok but tau encircle the IW, but IW are too dug in so they do a trade: scrapcode immunity for tech
IW terminators with railguns and fusion blasters
Pertaurabo
There really was nothing the guard could do on Taros
Also aren't the towel the same on table top as in the lore? They just get away from the enemy's range and shoot them?
towel lmao
I think that was one of the big complaints about how in the lore as well yeah?
and yea
I have been caught lacking
well consider this
I will die for this
the first major xeno u meet is the orks, second is the nids/humans. do u wanna get into melee with those crazy lads?
The towel empire
Shoot the enemy from beyond their range.
They close
Run away.
Rinse and repeat.
Pretty much how they bled the guard yeah?
its either that or super fast devastating strikes
mont'ka
Sounds badass 👍
Also didn't the ethereals shoot the tau straight from sticks n stones to post-gunpowder age
Yee
naw they were at a pre nuke age
Fully unified culture = fast progress
They didn't really have time for a melee culture or doctrinal legacy go evolve
well if the earth caste wasnt having their doors broken down by the fire caste than they prolly would have nuked themselves yea
Staright from stick to railgun
Its mostly because their doctrine is centered around ranged and they value their soldiers' lives
Do you see many modern soldiers rushing in with a knife?
How did the Tau lose any wars actually? If you can just outright outrange and outgun everyone?
this
fluff
Deepstrike, inferior numbers, etc
how can x loose they have y
3" 3cp strategem
every unit has a suicide vest
I've heard of one incident where the dark Angels took a tau planet in one day because it was their recruiting world. Was probably bolter porn as I've never heard it explained
We already have 3" with a 1cp strat
Or is it 2
Lemme check
2
Ehhhhh. Like I'm sure Madagascar has better spearmen than the US but...
yea and cmd shadowsun wiped out 2 chapters at mugalth bay, its just faction wank
3cp strategem used during enemy movement phase that allows you to move one of their units
Fuck it. walks your units off the board
acolytes are now 1 pt per model
please
That's not an issue with traditional fliers anymore atleast
There was a error in the drukhari codex that made reavers cost ad much as wyches on release
sold in boxes of 3 for 50 bucsks
yea ik

Wish eldar had something like the space marine game
i love my fire warriors that are more expensive that scions but worse on the board
Yep
Fighting tyranids instead of Orks, surprise necrons instead of chaos. Multiplayer is eldar versus dark eldar
Marker lights need and have needed a major overhaul if >bs4
Do tau have any spefic grenade wraoons?
EMP grenades I think
csnt really recall anything
photon and pulse
Ah thanks
the lil flat thing on the bottom of pulse carbines is a nade launcher
Tau is my off main on Dow
Which one is the frag and which one is the krak equivalent
krak is emp

Oh isee
photon are flashbangs
CMD?
commander
Ah
Oh speaking of commanders!
I really have to finish honourbound bound so I can read the farsight novel
And I really want to know, which Tau command would you guys say is the most aesthetically pleasing?
Cuz farsight looks badass. I'm a sucker for those macross looking mechs
my homebrew one XD
Like which sept? Or between Farsight and Shadowsun?
I think if they made doom guy Tau more solid lore/ gave him another modern game with a budget and time frame I think there'd be less Tau hate
Doubt
oh u mean number 1 bachelor in the commonwealth?
But always here for fire warrior 2
....show?
nah
people just want to rag on tau
sadly he aint built yet. enforcer suit with a power glavie, black and green colors
eastern + smooth aesthetic is prime bait for neckfuckery
I always thought Tau were cool because of that one robotech game I played on the GameCube.
They have that aesthetic and I love it. And that's just from what I saw for the firewarriors. When I got to the crisis battle suits and broadside battle suits in dawn of war...
Well as much as I love complaining, I'm going to be off until I have some more lore questions
Feel free to reply to my query on coolest looking Commander/battlesuit lads!
The neural interface was supposedly unconnected to his pain centres. It should, in theory at least, be possible to lop off his mechanical limbs, fire bullets into his chassis, electrocute or burn or maim or behead the unit, without him feeling so much as a twinge of discomfort. In theory.
In practice, a veteran user of Crisis XV8 technology often developed ho’or-ata-t’chel: sympathetic ghostpains. Phantom reactions to external damage.
He’d seen shas’uis so traumatised by losing their sensor-cluster “heads’ they’d spent kai’rotaas in a coma. He’d seen a shas’vre who, shot in his biological leg by a lucky armour-piercing round, couldn’t understand why he was unable to walk normally when he exited the suit, since its lowest limbs were perfectly intact. He’d seen shas’vres at the end of their careers, minds addled by a lifetime of war, by tau’cyrs of bounding effortlessly across cities on thrumming jetpacks, trying to fly...
With a picture and short explanation please, picture Is like 30% of your grade btw.
heres some good battlesuit lore
Whoo!
That's fucking awesome!
Can we pin that?
so, to give you a sumup for the tau hate;
-Theyre too happy for 40k hurdur not grimdark (many things arent)
-They have a sleek design, 40k has to be gritty! No smooth models! <primaris exist now, smooth marines have always existed>
-The tau are eastern and weeb bad!
-They are too naive and a blueberry race! Thats illegal because if you dont exist as long as humanity you arent supposed to win fights!
Got anything on combined arms? I.e firewarriors moving with battle suits?
yea thats how the tau work in cadres
As a guard fan I appreciate it the relatively normal dudes with cool high-tech but it makes me sad that they're pretty much better than the guard at everything.
I thought they would have made cool rivals
a cadre is styled for a specific task, so u can have combined arms ones and full tank/suit/inf cadres
just play guard who have defected
join the Commonwealth brother
Yes but then I can't be cool evil imperium
They aren't better at large scale mass production, or having expendable troops
I do like guevesa
fair and totalitarian pilled
I'm glad that's a thing
ye its nice
If I'm joining a xenos it's definitely gotta be digganobz
ill be a guevesa, free vasectomy according to grimdank
Ehhhhh. Orkz have that advantage and they almost always lose. Really just makes them better Cannon folder
Part of the reason people like knights versus samurai because they're basically the same thing but with the flavors of two different cultures. It's kind of the reason I want to see cool campaign between the tau and the guard
I mean Taros was cool but damn those lads could do nothing
Orks are losing? Who holds the most sectors in the galaxy?
They lose skirmishes but after the posterboys leave the boyz will have their fun
Not that I want them to be too even or similar! Tau having Superior tech is cool and part of the identity. And guards very rough and pragmatic way of things is their flavor
Don't confuse that with me thinking Orks will overall win, I know where I stand as an ork enjoyer
Another part of my guard woes, supposedly fighting most 99% of the battles but are always hilariously outnumbered outmatched outgunned.
I've seen them do pretty well against eldar but damn that's not really saying much.
they get left everywhere, you don't garrison space marines*
*dorn excluded
Eldar can get sneezed on and die lol
Another triangle????
no triangles for orks, just close combat and getting into close combat
NO YA GIT!
ORKZ BEAT HUMIES
HUMIES BEAT POINTYIEZ
AND POINTYIEZ CANT TOUCH DA ORKZ!
ORKZ IZ MADE FOR FOIGHTIN' N' WINNIN'
WAGGGGGGGGHHHHHH
GREEN IS BEST
So why are most tech priests hunched over?
bad posture
Which space marines chapter do you think would be the most okay with using tau tech? I’m about to write lore for my deathwatch and I want one of them to have a stolen pulse rifle
I’m not sure what chapter he would originate from though
I only know blood ravens steal things, but no idea
eh, ill probably just use one of the random obscure chapters like the Gorgons
that have less then zero lore
I think there was official art of a tau rifle used by the imperium (slapped purity seals and shit on it)
And i think it was deathwatch using it
Outside death watch, probably Sons of Medusa and Marines Malevolent off the top of my head
Both very very looty chapters
No clue if MM still do Deathwatch service though
failing all else you can totally write in ur own chapter from the area around tau space that's been made semi xenophillic by exposure
!! Tolerance marines
tolerant marines would have to be tolerant of intolerant marines tho, making them intolerant
Could just make them a black shield so it’s ambiguous.
Yea I was thinking that too
Incan using right wing arguments smh my head 😭
Ceases to exist
@frosty cobalt I just realized that Tau grenade launchers are basically frisbee shooters
New favourite faction 💪
Yuuup its great
I always imagine them having cameras on the guns so they can shoot them around corners
A team of firewarriors flash, the breachers clear, and the fw move up
Experimental Tau weapon
Lolol
Tho we all know thats what the eldar pull up wity
God i need these but fuck GW
Are they new models?
Or upgrade pack like cadians
Killteam
Yea the railgun model is sick too
He is going to blow your head off from 5 km away
But yea the fact that the shadowsun model having a nose on accident now means all female tau have “noses” is fuckin funny
Its a bump
gotta distinguish them somehow
Maybe she is an exception
Who nose
ok tom baker
huh
I wish they gave them like a bony forehead ridge or smth, the nose doesnt look great
But that pulse carbine looks so sexy
Ridge would maybe tread on GSC lines too much?
Pulse accelerator
Makes it hit harder
Do pulse weapons fire ballistic projectiles or energy stuffs
Energy
they're basically more stable lower power plasma guns that imperals have
Yea
pretty blue lights of DOOM
Railguns > Pulse rifles 😎
Yup
I like ballistics more than energy weapons
But pulse is cool too
Most tau weapons are pretty dope
I do too, but i like the taus stuff, just cause it snubs imp tech
why there's no ion rifle in that kit is beyond me
cmon literally just one special weapon
i am livid
Id literally just buy that kit for the heads
Unlike the modern day Imperial stuff which js just 100 heavy stubbers on a box and then ankther stupid new Bolter variation Cawl invented
That Tau clearly has over 300 confirmed kills with the Navy Seals
Lol
I really like that model
Yea in my headcanon, the commonwealth starts handing out rail rifles to fw teams after a while
Commonwealth?
The tau empire, aka the commonwealth of the greater good
Ah
i do def really like that sculpt
im also a slut for rail rifles in general
my beloved
Yuppppp
The Tau look real good with those visors
Like incursors but actually cool and not lame as fuck
I hope they do more infantry and vehicles for tau
That's what I like about them
Mechs are cool too but there's too many relative to da infantry 😎
If we get more suit stuff i just hope its for crisis stealth broadside lvl of suit, i dislike the bigger suits
Dislike is to harsh
I like the smaller suits more
Yea I hope for smaller suits meant for elite infantry
And maybe an expansion on the foot soldier fire warriors
Thats the thing tho is the suits are the elite inf,
With how ranking works
For inf i want more auxiliaries
Damn
Vespid and kroot
Yeap. Some warriors stick in the gun line but most jump at the chance to pilot a suit when they get it
ew het
Lol i know
Yea my cadre is v gun heavy, tho most of the crisis are speced towards close up (thx proud)
Im prolly gonna clip some weapons off the ones that are assembled
Need to switch it up
shotgun tau my beloved
My planned gimmick for tau became by gimmick for my cult
Probably because I think GSC might be the best non-marine flamer faction
Oh wait SoB exist
Honestly still maybe
Hand flamers are so big
It’s jeggings
ill keep it the same, just give each suit one of each maybe
thers a special type of tau ptsd sufferers that dont leave their suit till death, and rock the fusion flamer combo
Legend
I'm big on visors as well but I just wish it covered the top of his head or shaded over the viewer more ya know?
First railgun I've ever seen was is Halo 4 I believe. Loved them ever since.
im p fine with the visor things, they look cool
i'd probs include one or two just to give the KT a lil more variety, see if i can put helmets on most of the rest
Yh i thought it was strange that they showed more tau without big helmets
i am a lil worried there wont be as much customisation as i'd like
how much customisation was there in the krieg vs ork box?
from what i gather, and i dont have the box, ork is a bit meh, but dkok seems good
we'd have to get someone who actually got the box though
but yeah im fine with like a few important monopose units or whatever
but i still want to pick and choose heads, arms
not that i dont think the visors are really cool
theyre great but i dont want them on everyone
For krieg it was mainly weapon options
Very uniform
But for the orks you could make them normal kommandos or give them their specific weapons
And swap the heads for whatever
The leader guy i posted before could have the cap and an axe aswell
Bur i gave him the claw and the mask
damn his thighs tho
The tau guys have new weapons by the looks
So you’ll have the choice of giving them the current pathfinder equipment i imagine
they have new variations of pulse carbines, idk what exactly but two new weird attachments
for a moment i did think one of them had a new pistol but other ppl insist that's some medic injection thing
Is the big rail gun not new?
no, but the weird lil cannister things poking out of it might be
Tbf i’ve not seen the current kit
idk what they are
currently pathfinders have pulse carbines with markerlights, railguns and ion rifles
confusingly there isn't even an ion rifle visible in the kit, unless it's on the sprues and just not taken there
the only like, immediately obvious new stuff i can see, is a couple of the individuals have unique poses and details (medic, leader looking dude, recon looking dude, and the pose of the guy with the railgun), two new attachements for pulse carbines and some other odd attachment for a rail rifle
plus obvs the new heads
Yeah
If it’s an upgrade sprue like the leak says then it might just be that
Updated look
yee i imagine we'll get more details soon
i really wanna see the sprue
Depends when the box is coming out
@cerulean wagon put this in my head, how exactly does the Grey Knight order get their stuff? Do they make their own stuff or do they sorta get whatever the Custodes didn't want?
they are given gear by the inquisition
I heard something about the GK getting the best gear that hasn't already been snatched by the Custodes but I wanna be sure
its not really linked to the custodes
Yeah most GK stuff is made in-house iirc
since they get some of the best equipment just below the Custodians
Grey knights have a personal forge with extracted mechanicus personel
it has some really edgy shit like how thousands of psykers are killed to enscribe anti-demon runes on a single GK's armor or whatever but you can just ignore all of that shit if you want
Titan, the moon, has been removed from stellar charts
hidden by special fields even
It has its own forge, defense systems etcetera
yeah GK lore is pretty bad
but basically its all bespoke custom made shit
giving them custodes gear would kinda be pointless since they are specialists
Well I can't ignore that, those could've been used to feed the Emperor! smh
their gear is on par with custodes
just... yknow
a bit differently specced
the difference between a psyk-out grenade and a vortex grenade is titanic
yeah
i like a lot of their gear
its just... coked up and snorted down custodes levels for the sake of beign special
its more a shift in how its used
if you were to be anal about it, they are on the same level of power
Just made for different things.
yeeeeee
But is it better than salamander gear?
Yes...?
Don't mock my charred amphibians
you know that pathfinder is like "this will buy me some time!" and the SoB are like "welp she touched it burn them both"
i doubt shed mind getting shot through to kill the alien
allows her to get a cool scar to show off to young ones
yea but knowing 40k munitions, if ur trying to blow thru her and it, its gonna kill both of em
except those are autoguns
or just flame em both
oh yea like you can just get shot with enough 7.62 to pierce your body armor and the pathfinders too
i mean sure she could
lets take into acount that shes wearing sob plate tho
yes
yknow i think shell probably get some shoulder pains
so to shoot thru that
looks at sister repentas
Yes but those are clearly bitches and deserve what they got
lol
gosh
i mean yea either way that path is f'd
liek
like*
either they just shoot him
in the leg or something, or maybe through her arm
or she just kinda... yknow
Grabs his arm and overheads him
Which might grant him a visit of that powersword
hes really just in a bad spot but his position is bad as well
or the path shoots her in the gut and throws a nade
like, hes holding a hostage, whose GOT A GUN HERSELF
yea like i said hes dead
but its funny
you dont hafta like micro inspect everything about the scene
like knowing how badly this woman wants to annihilate that path for just existing let alone having the audacity to touch her
i was just postin it cause its funny
This is entirely in character for pathfinders
Given their job is already borderline suicidal to the extent that it's revered by the rest of the tau
if there's prominent propaganda surrounding ur job in the tau empire, it's probably gonna get u killed
Yee arent they like the only unit that doesnt fully go by the "preserve" tenet of Tau tactics
Since their jobs as scouts are inherently so dangerous
Also I just remembered that one Pirahna pilot who dive bombed a warboss truck to death
Pretty much, they've gotta expose themselves so they can scout for and provide markerlights to the rest of the cadre. Putting themselves in danger for the good of the whole etc
As a result of that in my head pathfinders are just cracked adrenaline junkies huygjy
Oh helly es
Well just look at imperial Japan’s fanaticism and you’ll see the comparison.
Thankfully I can't immediately recall any direct tau suicide bombing memery
But I truly doubt GW could resist
there is a special battlesuit equip that puts a suicide nuke in ur suit
A Failsafe Detonator is a powerful T'au explosive device that causes the bearer's T'au Battlesuit to self-destruct in a lethal explosion. This technology was developed to be used in only the most dire of circumstances and was intended to serve as the ultimate expression of the doctrine of the Greater Good.
With the pilot's sacrifice, he buys th...
always ran it on my cmdr when playing nids, just felt right
i once got a carnifex, 3 hive guard and a tyrant with it
I feel like that should be pretty standard procedure when facing down Nids
yea in my headcanon cadre, they figured out how to let the pilot do it, so technically every suit has that wargear
so when u go down in the tide, at least you can shine as a beacon to the Greater Good one last time
pretty much just titanfall
Dicc armor
that looks like how i'd imagine like, isolated human auxiliary equipment to look like
like, engineered from scattered tau technology but still retaining knight giant slow moving gun crab vibes
I mean not all of their tactics involved suicidal tendencies.
yes
Also there are these tau pilots who suffer too much battlesuit neurosis are given a flamer and fusion blaster and told to go get some glory. They get a special name lemme see if i can find it
Monat
Lone wolf tau get to go throw themselves at an enemy
Mr kais firewarrior, the commonwealths #1 bachelor, is a monat
after some deliberation with the Black Books
I have come to a concerning discovery
Terran IW might not have recruited from the Great Plains region
But instead recruited around Hawaii
huh, thats a neat fact!
I'm still not sure which is right yet, but I'm confident they recruited from the Americas
also what are these cause if its lore books i need
They're big tomes for 30k containing a historical style recounting of the lore and all the rules needed to play 30k
damn those sound cool and spensive
👀 👀 👀 👀
hels ye
tysm
cri
nw thanks for trying tho!
I'll put them in a google drive thing then
really appreciate the effort
nw nw i am just thankful ur taking the time!
Hey aside from Terra is there any lore on Sector Sol?
mars is there
pff
:D
just think of it as one of the most heavily defended sections in the galaxy
with the defenses getting thicker and more dangerous the closer to terra and mars you get
Fair amount of lore on it in the Great Crusade/Heresy era
So... I'm gonna say. That new Space Marine Dark Angeles episode? I think out of all of the characters, I think the ship captain may be my favorite.
what dark angels episode
Oh that warhammer+ thing
i watched a little Warhammer+ but the content slowly trickles down to me since uh
i don't pay for it
question
are imperial fists called imperial fists because all that remains of rogal is his fist?
they like fisting
and spending time with the magic pain glove
Memes aside theres not that much of a reason
A lot of the founding legions had their names at first be made up of words like that since it sounds cool on a toybox
with the Fists its usually just a show of stubbornness/strenght (hence the raised fist)
The Emperor bestowed the name "Imperial Fists" upon the VII Legion early in the Great Crusade, a reference to when many saw the lands conquered by them it was as if "the hand of the Emperor had descended and gripped with an unbreakable fist
This is the closest explanation
Rogal Dorn would've swapped iconography and names if he bothered
Yh i was just fucking around honestly
Imperial fists is a cool name but its funny to think rogal is a hand now
Fun fact: His name also roughly translates to "imperial fist"
Real creatives, those guys at GW
Almost as bad as Ferrus Manus, Primarch of the Iron Hands, who has literal iron hands.
Ultramarines of the Ultramar Spector, from the Planet Ultramar, painted in Ultramarine blue
GW goes lenghts in naming Things, Not necessarily in the right direction :P
yeah as much as people mock it Guilliman has one of the most unique names
that and it isnt on the nose
i dont mind the name rogal dorne
Kurze i like too but it sounds a bit too much like curse
But yeah best not to think too much about names and ridiculous retcons
Yeee
like most of them are fine and cool
Magnus is a bit overused since it sounds cool
I know characters using it from like 10 other fictional universes lol
including fantasy lol
lol YEP
otherwise almost all primarch names are made up and have no equilavent
which helps a lot
(turkish) (turkish) NEO MEDIEVAL (turkish) (turkish)
it's the equivelant of a character being called homo sapien or smthn
"My name is sapien, homo sapien"
the sapien is debatable
🙏
😳
my safe word is "exterminatus"

Bugfucker hours

And Ripley, too
Boomer anger
Did you see this ratty?
Did you?
Also im 19 so no boomer for u today 😎
This is why i care
Still less silly than Prometheum
Wrong
The Alien franchise has been a joke for a while
Delete this
Im not even sure what it is
spiderman jizz
dude needs to get checked out
I used to wonder why the ork dna became the artillery Nid, but now I know. It's all that dakka
iirc the artillery nids were just adapted from seeing the enemies they fight using artillery

from what I remember of the old codex'es it was loosely written and easily retconed as GW likes
but that was what was "hinted at" back when I was a teenager, and not old and greying
Literal big brain move
Yeah at least his name isn’t “toilettes bleues”
So, societal entropy would benefit Nurgle I think. Tzeentch would benefit from the chaos that happens once that entropy hits a breaking point though right?
thats why they fight, nurgle to keep the status quo, tzeentch to change it
Yeah definitely. I just think it’s funny that Nurgle, god of entropy, has the probably impossible task of maintaining the status quo in a universe that shatters those on a daily basis.
i dont think its that hard tho, the imperium grinds on, chaos grinds on, etc
True
thats why blue birds plots always pop off the biggest shit
I’ve just been reading about Delta Green’s Hastur mythos and wondering if The King is closer to Nurgle or Tzeentch
hhmmmmmmmmmmmm thats a fantastic question
the king in yellow is a fantastic character with multiple interpretations, and ive always more thought of it as Tzeentchian with a bit of Slannesh
the whole theater aspect is prevalent in most hastur suff ive read
but tbh ive wanted to get into DG, havent read the lore yet
so i dont know their telling
for me hastur is pretty far from the chaos cult
yea, the elder gods are v different from the chaos gods imo
i dont see a lot of similarities in themes
Delta Green’s carcosa is pretty warpy but that’s all I can really say without spoiling things
the elders are removed from human perceptions, like 4d beings in a 3d worls, which could apply to chaos but yea thats why i said it was a mix
all the elders (in the lore that ive read, which is v diverse) are quite different than the chaos gods in motive and form. Powers might be similar, but everything else is kinda diff
for me like, the chaos gods having human pawns they actually empower is so far from lovecraft's mythos
the elder gods shouldnt and dont care
you can say like yeah the great game of chaos is played amongst themselves and thye dont really concern themselves
but to be fair they really do be concernin themselves
naw but they do because thats their power
Yeah. Most of the stuff in modern Delta Green is basically people doing stupid stuff with the garbage the Elders left behind on the way out
i like both fantasies but theyre entirely seperate for me
ahh very Roadside Picnic
this
i dont need a nyerlothep in gw lore
lol
God no
||the elders would btfo the Four u cant change my mind||
Don’t need to
i migth ahve been missing your point actually
but you made me think about this and now i'm glad i did
They’d just kill all the weird microbes that made them on accident and problem solved
all the lovecrafitan deitys mentioned in books/tales
+sub creatchers like elder things and shoggoths
the maps are like a loose timeline of the mythos
and where diff factions posted up and stuff
i never really looked at them like factions
yea no thats a bad word by me just like groups of similar species and belief
like the elder things from mountains of madness chilling down in Antarctica
understandble
i honestly just enjoy the vibe
Cosmic pissing contest aside, the whole idea I wanted to steal from the Hastur stuff is that once society breaks down enough in an area, it sometimes will just be eaten / corrupted by Carcosa. A really weird example of this in Delta Green: Impossible Landscapes is the German SS and Red Army troops from Stalingrad that got sucked into Carcosa and have been trapped there killing each other for eternity ever since
also im p sure this pulls from like the expanded mythos, stuff by other authors at the time
interesting, Valhalla but worse
ngl didnt know that was supposed to be hastur in that story
just thought it was some beast
like a shoggoth from Leng
Lovecrat/Delerth doing Hastur is pretty meh imo
yeap thats it
god i lov some good eldritch theater
don think carcosa is on this oneeee
lemme grab my physical copy
damn no, its there but rly tiny and not really
We will make our own Carcosa. Together.
As Bollockus and Trollgius.
I finished Talons of Horus this weekend.
Holy fuck the final battle scene was incredible.
ADB is a fantastic writer.
Thats one of the funniest parts about the HH
I watched so many reviews of the series and one certain thing they always say is
"A lot of the books are meh but ADB's ones are great"
Dan Abnett holds the top spot but he is pretty close too
Yeah. I think they're neck and neck for me. They're able to give space cock racist only built as a machine of war a personality and character you want to follow.
So I was thinking about how most space marines are not matured properly since they are taken as children so they don’t emotionally mature. However the salamanders never stop being a part of their society, so does that mean they are more mature than the other chapters? Could this also be the reason why they have slower reaction time than the other chapters? While other act on impulse or just don’t stop to consider collateral damage or consequences for their actions the salamanders do stop to consider casualties and collateral damage.
I mean they are matured just differently
I can’t remember where but someone mentioned a book we’re all the space marines were messing around and wrestling when their primarch walked in.
thats just dudes being dudes
ye its pretty normal
yeah and marines learn how to be adults and their purpose in life sooner or later
its a bit like how you are totally unprepared for military service until you are molded into it with enough given time
and marines have plenty of time to be molded
Yeee
like the only Chapter where this "process" is probably "fun™️" might be the space wolves if i had to take a pick lol
Since you just need to analyze the veterans over kegs of mjod and learn your way around the place
🍺
idk, if i remember right the space wolves have some weird ceremonies n shit
like having to earn a name
has this count gone up since last check?
ur bad
"Hehe space furry" trollface
Comedy gold
thats not even what i said but sure
i just think they are a poorly written chapter, same as most of the other major chapters
I dont feel like you should get to judge a chapter just from the surface
Oh nah didnt imply you said or meant that
but skelly is a furry its true
😳
not even from surface, ive read some of their lore
Skeleton no fur??? 😳
aAA
its just... ehh
You're eh
i dont trust a person that even dislikes custodians
go back to your guard trench
their books are kinda like UM books

Custodians succ
aaa
😎
liking custodes is basically the same as liking primaris
whats different? they are just betterrer marines
cadian pattern armor Dilara
aaAAA
awful
Dilara has rounded shoulder pads 😔
I prefer fabstodes thank you
if ever make custodes the will will be swole and buetiful
and glistening
Get em fat ballix out bror
I really, really hope Olanius Pius is made the defacto savior of the Emperor (That is, the guy who ran in and got blitzed by Horus, showing to Emps that Horus was definitely corrupt all the way through.)
Apparently its still up in the air.
Like, the other options being it was a Companion, or a Terminator
Its a lot more of a moment when its just an Imperial Army dude
i do question how a random dude got there in the first place but
I believe the explanation is that Pius was a perpetual or some such, and the Emperor was aware he existed and had fought side by side with the guy at least on one other occasion.
The main problem is that there are two men who go by the name Olanius Pius
One we know for sure dies in the siege of Terra
The other is the perpetual
I agree poorly written chapters are poorly written.
I say let the guard have this win
watching oculus's vraks series rn

first impressions are that it seems to be taking queues from mechanicus, which is a very good thing
Xcom like as planned then
looks cool tbh
sick of every warhammer game being a strategy game of some description
i get it's the easiest to do but eh
Still want my GSC horror game
i like xcom style games, so it works perfectly for me
any other genre of game though
it might also be because i played so much tabletop that my reptile brain can pick it up much easier
Or maybe you just like the game genre
check out blood dakka and teef or whatever its called
Dakka squadron i think
The side scroller one?
Yh
Thought that wasn’t out yet?
Cause that did look fun aswell
Oculus is great, and the vraks series v good for listening
The chaos/deamon eps are great too
Oh yea hes based af
what a slut
What server? I want to see more 40k nipple rings 😳
ya ive also been getting into the 40k audio books, fairly new to stuff on the more iconic battles of the world so ive decided to start learning about those and recognizable heroes of sorts
If 40k cant awaken something in you can you truly call it a hobby?
So if a a disease spread through a hive city, it'd basically be endemic to it forever right? There are so many people crammed in such small quarters that there'd always be someone sick with it right?
hey looks good!
Yeap, plaugepox purges and other things like that are a duty for the PDF. Thats what happened in DT, cept it apparently got out of control
muahahahahaaaa
im getting my friend who knows nothing of 40k or fantasy into the lore
all through making him get vermintide 2 and it went from there
If only 40k had a game like vermintide... im looking at you , fatshark

It was shut up now >:c
you talk shit again i make your head look like that skele
mad because game bad
More like mad because game good 😎 😎 😎

you cant kill a skeleton
