hurr durr too fast to see hurr durr [matrix] hurr durr [every shitty power scaling superhero thing since the 90s]
or better yet do more weird psyker shit like the caine books
weird slaanesh gardens where the leaves are tongues
the Astartes animation shows it best tbh, even when Marines sprint they're fast but bulky as fuck
instead of ZOOOOM
ye astartes handled it really well
strong* and obvs well trained with Moving Fast™️ but like, it's still a tank sized man in tank sized armour
some writers conflate "nothing that big should move that fast" with "cant see shit"
fast and fast indeed ratty
die
they are tankman

thank
tfw space marine epicly runs 6000 circles around a harlequin then touches them with their pinky
killing them instantly
What if a space marine wasnt wearing any armor?
Would they go zooooooooooooooooooom?
lewd
then I'd hope he would put some clothes on
That happens in a book

you know
it's revenge for them 1shotting custodes
I try to make up this shit
this is what cheaters get
But I accidentally just quote actual books
lmao
Basically, fucking Mephiston
dsofhjgvsd
that vampire librarian of the blood angels
pulls a fucking ZA WARUDO
and pauses time

that's moronic
and causes the eldar pilots attacking him to have a heart attack
,,

one vampire very much like another
why are SM so fucking cringe
DFKSDFDS
cus they're the focal point of 40k cringe
I could say "space marines can jump 160 floors and blow up hivefleets with their minds" and someone'd be like "uhh yeah that's from AssBlast Chapter 49, of the Drip Marines"
bolter porn
The rare moment the opposite happens is great. Like the one time an Ork Warboss sans mega-armor just charges into a bunch of BTs and just punches one in the head so hard his helmet shatters.
space marines are the kids at recess saying your imaginary gun missed them because they activated their force field during a game of cops and robbers
I want to see a Space Marine chapter that tries to do parkour and 360 no scopes to really show that nothing that big should be going that fast
im pretty sure theres a SM book where some guy jumps into orbit and cuts a ship in half with a sword made of fire
killing space marines is the civil duty of all xenos

apply railgun to mary sue
Also an actual lore piece where a single marine takes over a normal civilian world iirc
your welcome proud lmao
oh god
apply flamer to eldar child
not just one dude fighting an entire planet
is it an ultramarine
iirc its actually a fucking scout trial for the neophyte
Average people and not military trained people
i gotta look it up 1 sec
bet its ultramarines
Yeah I call bullshit
I just remembered the fact that
if u apply a high caliber gun to a space marine the space marine dies
the only living mortal who's interacted mentally with the hivemind(and survived, not insane) was a marine
not a, say, eldar
it makes zero sense for them to be doing the comic book thing of just
one space marine ran around a planet so fast that he stopped its rotation
hurr durr u cant beat me cus im so strong
remember when
Ultramarine Librarian, Tony the Tiger or whatever his name was
Tony the Tiger
in one on one combat
Just fire some damn pladma at marines
UHMMMMMMM AKTUALLY snorts and pushes up glasses DE ASTARTES SOLDIER WOULD GO INTO A COMA AND HE'D BE REVIVED BY HIS RIENFORCEMENTS SO snorts YOU'RE WRONG IM SORRY
ass tartees
Butt Tarts
The SM 3rd dick would move to replace his missing skin
Calgar destroying a monolith by using a necron pillar he tore from the ground
plugging the wound
lmfao
the suzan membrane
Calgar's gonna use his massive hands to throw a hivefleet outside of the milky way like superman redirecting a asteroid
the sugondis membrane
his hands are so big
His mouth is dry
THATS ACTUALLY A FUCKING PRIMARIS ORGAN FUNCTION
AAA-
must be a primarch
hey guys remember when calgar killed a lord of skulls in 1v1?
Remember, the bigger the hands, the more powerful he is
must be the emperor
Did he punch him with his incredibly big hands
can we get a comic edit
IT IS AND ITS kind of cool but not really used at all in what Ive seen, mainly because SM with no names tend to just be obliterated completely
*one shot
where every time it shows calgar his hands get bigger
Calgar's yaoi-hands are the source of his powers
Remember guys: in the 40k universe, if you dont have a name, you're probably going to die the moment you step on a battlefield of any sort
If you do, you're going to survive
you know
Does everyone have a hand kink now
big hands
its a japanese art style
they have everything to do with it
Yaoi Hands, also known as "Yaoi hand syndrome", is a term for aggrandized hands that can be found in Yaoi[1], a homoerotic fictional media intended for female consumption. The trope bears similarities to several other anime devices, including exaggerated breasts[2] and gag boobs[3] as seen in Mega Milk / Titty Monster.
Typically hands in yaoi are drawn super big for some reason
old yaoi books had big hands
Fistin I assume ?
,,,

Fingers
TIL the tf2 characters all have yaoi hands
I'll consumpt that
i get that large hands are like
usually used for the whole virile young man thing
EW
oh jesus
EW
THEY'RE ALIEN FINGERS
Hey he has the IG hands !
You know what I'd love to see? GW writers having to kill a major marine character at some point, should it ever happen, having to justify how they die when they've performed such op acts before. Like, if you know anything about the situation of killing Jotaro in JJBA.
E T phone home
I hope Calgar dies getting hit by a bus or something completely mundane
SDFDFKS
give him the thorgrim treatment
He trips over his big feet and falls off a cliff
some genestealer under his bed kills him offscreen
i forget how jotaro even died
BIG FEET
i remember it being sorta dumb
P much
Pretty much he'd been written to be kinda op
But h ehad to die
So same problem
They did at least write in the whole like
He did die but came back
i mean he's okay with psykers if they don't use their powers
jotaro is a lazy fuck who doesn't bother practising his extremely powerful ability
or using it at all
leave grandpa alone
That makes the most logical amount of sense for Khorne
so in live threatening situations he's just oh fuck i haven't stopped time in like eight years
how does this even work
literally shows up to morioh town like "oh yeah i guess it has been 10 years since i stopped time" like what
shut up its anime
im a senile old man despite aging backwards
man just wants to study dolphins
lmao
okay look
why are u guys discussing this like the show makes any sense
not even the writer does
Like the world eaters killed all their librarians
Jojo is just a fun time
40k is jojo
it has to be there but it's just not
Jojo is a very serious series skele you just dont get it/s
I know the writer literally use fashion exhibition dresses
Like the things that youd never wear
jojo has v pretty guys going into the later runs
therefore it gets my assent
johnny is adorable
the slabs of meat slowly transformed into high fashion models
ratty will take either
slowly transitioned from disfigured mass of muscle to emaciated twink
Part 4-> part 5 twinkification process
Yeep
legend
That said josuke is also adorable and i love the art style they chose for him for the anime
,, tbh part 4 is my favourite in general but
and it has the most jojo thing to ever happen in jojo, punching a bad guy to turn him into a rock that becomes a local landmark
i do find myself wondering about the logistics of that
is that dude just immortal now
But I cannot get past part 3
or will he just like. rot. in his stone tomb at some point
tbh take my advice and just like
skip straight to uhh probs vanilla ice-ish for part 3? I honestly didn't even bother watching half of the battles
them fucking around in the desert for 20 episodes really dragged on
edgy, vaguely misogynistic, the fuck u said about my mum bruv vibes
Hes just trying so hard to be cool
he starts becoming an actual human in part 4
jotaro is far better in part 4
And its like "Bruh"
before that he's just
yeee
[[[shonen protaganist]]]
blank edgy gifted teen
idk im not a weeb
also women get punched a lot
and like
get their skulls broken
not that i mind as a woman
but still
pls dont get ur skull broken
DSKLFDS
you should definitely mind it
god i cant get over watching some of the scenes with the female characters though
its such a rare sight to see to begin with
amidst all the muscles
i feel like jojo started to get really gay in part 5
DLSFDKLSDFSL
part 1 is straight
it was gay from the start
part 2 is like
did you see that art style?
""""mostly"""""
or jojo
Part 5 be very homosexual
too late
DIO LOVES NO ONE BUT HIMSELF
HES DIOSEXUAL
he also loved posing in those hermit purple pictures
oh yeah also I just remembered, speaking of Loki is also Fluid apparently
he's a shapeshifter he's inherently genderfluid
hes horse sexual
,, no
nooOOO
we dont talk about that

i choose to imagine he like
👀
used his vampire intuition to know someone was about to snap him
oh he knew

AYAYAYAAAAY

suuuure
i draw the line at part 2 from part 2 onwards it's straight into the gay
lol
okay so like
great i gotta go listen to their theme now since its such a banger
Pure Caesar salad moment
from gayest to straightest, out of the ones i've seen or read it's like
never forget that the spanish word for ham sounds identical to hamon
part 5 > part 6 (with a healthy dose of lesbian gay this time) > part 2 (carried by pillar men) > part 3 > part 4 > part 1
that's my assessment
I mean "meme" in turkish means "tit" so close enough
part 7 is like. yeah half the characters look like drag queens i can't say that's straight

a good pair of memes
and its spelt "meh-meh"
hahaha
thanks for attending this course
that describes how i feel about em
i regularly reference the type of bird specifically so i can lord my maturity over ppl who immediately go hehe boobies
cus they always do
guilty
optimal
man there's a lot of vaguely sexual bird names huh
the armenian breastfowl
!! we get a bunch of those around here
hehe
Plenty of the birds too
i am a child lol
something something tau
We have those too
some willow tits as well, all the tits
A few robins but they're sorta rare, weirdly almost no sparrows
get sparrows in the summer
a few robins in the winter
a couple of Jays actually, which is great
kinda love how bizzare they look
ye
i got a couple to come over by leaving peanuts but also like
squirrels
less than amicable
they are cute
red squirrels are gone so it's sorta moot imo
excepting like. what was that beach/woodland place called
the one place that still has them
!! nice
i saw black squirrels in canada
I didn't know that
they were pretty cute
we should apply my valuable, all terrain strategy to the squirrel problem
we should deploy wolves
wolves are just big squirrels
gritty operation dumbo drop sequel
haha yeah man
Yeah the airdropped wolves are hilarious
The main issue is that wolves tend to thrive where-ever you put them.
Spent some time in VRChat listening to Star Wars fans arguing Empire could beat Imperium.
You can't win against backwater nobodies for like 30 years, you can't beat anything.
Can't believe I stan'd for 40k
...The main issue in that discussion is that its stupid as fuck anyway.
The Empire and the Imperium would get along very well for one. Both are Xenophobic, both are authoritarian states...
And second.
...Star Wars has FTL that doesn't send you through hell all the time, and ships which basically have hyper OP weapons as a default.
So it'd be game over on the basis of a galactic conflict.
They wouldn't get along well because the Imperium wouldn't have control, so they would have war instead.
But ech it doesn't realy compare
40k is absurd
Star Wars is absurd because nobody cares
Like being born superior to others yet somehow being about overcoming odds?
That.
But also, on a starshps basis.
40k has giant space cathedrals.
Star Wars has danger triangles with superlasers stuck on... And no I don't mean that stupid Xyston
Fuck that thing.
I mean the Sovereign and the Eclipse class SSD's
And yet the Empire manages to lose, despite having super weapons that casually one shot other dreadnoughts.
Because they're angry
Always angry, making angry mistakes and being stupid because angry rawr evil guy must be angry and heedless
Unless you're the original movies where the evil space empire were actually organised and levelheaded
Can't we just agree that unless someone makes a sci fi setting with an even more ridiculous scale, no one can win against 40k.
The stable FTL typically seems to be the clincher for most people.
(And faster FTL, for that matter.)
Specifically Star Wars Hyperspace.
Course, this also ignores that hyperspace is a fixed form of FTL, taking you from point A to point B on a lane, and not to anywhere without a lane, but whatever.
Battle meditation would tilt the fuck out of the imperium tbh
Absolutely.
Really though nids would nom on Jedi/sith and then it’d be game over for both
Very likely, yeah.
Spent some time in VRChat listening to Star Wars fans arguing Empire could beat Imperium.
@coarse mirage i mean i like both but the enpire aint got shit on the imperium
From my experience, it always, and I mean always, at actual debates with rules and standards, came down to "The Imperium could best the Empire on the field of battle, but never got there in time to do anything because the Empire has star wars far superior FTL, which let them blitz the Imperium whole sale."
But does the Empire beat Eldars or Nids.
They never discussed the full universe. It becomes too messy.
It was just Empire V Imperium.
Its true SW universe.... its pretty huge and not used at all
Imperium would win with sheer numbers
You're assuming their slow and fat ships could even get into orbit before being destroyed by a setting with FTL so much faster than theirs.
That's literally the counter argument.
Void shields dont fuck around
And neither do superlasers
Tfw your ships dont have to go through literal hell
Whats the point then
I meant your ships not going through super hell

Who would win: Blue from blues clues or marneus calgar
The answer may surprise you
Does a Saber lazer have same power than a Power sword ?
Assume Blue is at maximum clue power
Or energetic sword ?
Calgars hands are especially big
You mean a lightsaber?
Also lightsaber is plasma
/nerdpoints
If you want to know, most debates classify Lightsabers and Power Swords the same in terms of power to keep it from becoming too complex.
Idk max clue blue and big hands calgar are very equal
Daddy Void Dragooun uwu
The logic, if you can call it that, is that Lightsabers use magnetic fields to contain their energy, and thus power swords and their power fields would clash with a lightsaber just like another lightsaber would.
I have a better question: Does Mortarion have Tuberculosis?
Okay
Probably
Super tuber
Mortarion has like every disease+
The answer is yes.
Isha be saved by Mortarion
Yeah but Mortarion piss off Nurgle in his garden and Isha was in, maybe he can save her and be heal by her
New lore?
I know that mortarion isnt quite as favored
Maybe for fuck Nurgle save Isha
Compared to typhus and mini nurgles
Why would he "free" her?
Spite nurgle maybe
Yeah
She would just get consumed by slaanesh
Possibly
Unless she was able to get into the webway
And since she in fact likes nurgle (im right, you cant prove me wrong) she would resist
Wat
Yes
Why would mortarion do something about nurgle anyway?
Idk man sounds like heresy to me
Least*
We just can wait a see what next happen to Godblight
So ppl think Russ will enter nurgles garden to save Isha for some reason?
Weeping plague was pretty messed up
He will literally invite you to his mansion and has a nice talk with you if you visit his realm
I hope he extra-dies
Russ?
Ill only enter if we use the exterminatus strength soap to bomb the garden and mansion clean first
Exactly
Noo leave daddy nurgle alone
Yus
Hes super nice to everyone and you want to punish him for that?
😭
Its like the old Unclean nice but a bit cringe
Huge belly x)
Oh god, now they're just fat Ultramarines.
They always have been
Ogryns cosplaying as space marines
Dadbod Marines
😳
Gotta love Imperial Knights
I am only sad that Pattern cant replace his lance with a sword
Yeh
Because a Cerastus-pattern knight with power sword and ion gauntlet is just too awesome
i still need to get someone with a 3d printer for this
Cults.
In one of the Emperor's visions, he sensed immense power radiating from the distant world on the outer edge of Imperium. Months later Tech-priests arrived on the desolate planet and discovered the majestic hall deep under colossal ruins of a forgotten age. It contained a hundred statues of Questoris Knights standing upright in formations. In fro...
knight with a giant fuck off thunder hammer and a cape
I wonder if any 40k art will continue to show the adventures of LIIVI and his Eldar GF

Considering they're the relic of the mid 2000's probably not
Well they were reaffirmed in Wrath and Glory
Tho the artwork was reused from the Rogue Trader RPG
Yeah its just reused art
the original textbox under the older one pretty much outright references the story in comparison
That textbox on the card is newer
The Art
(and this is the latest image we have along their story line)
DH and Wrath and Glory are pretty cool
Yeh
Good choise and a better focus than Rogue Trader imo
And more friendly...
Dark heresy is the best one I've ran so far rules wise
just the most fun at its core
Trying wrath and glory thursday
I'll try DH since 2 week ago, i have great feeling even my techpriest almost die XD
CWE ?
Ok
Yus but Psyker save my life
@weak fernAre you familiar with the story of LIIVI (both in universe and out)?
The last time I was a player I held off a Tervigon to let the party plant a vortex bomb on a downed hive ship
So they could escape back to the lander and get out
U mean dis? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkj8KmxYpkQ
=====================================
"A Vindicare should not be mistaken for a human being. Contrary to a human being, who is filled with distractions, memories, and connections to others, a Vindicare is a well oiled machine. He was raised and trained, from birth, that the only reason he wasn't dead, raped, ruined, or suffered under any other ...
Not really i'm only good into Mechanicus/Mechanicum
Yeh
Yes, fucking heresy
But Craftworld is a lore i want to get more
craftworld are neat
Good luck because most of it is trash
hoping they get their Wrath and glory expansion soon
cause currently it just sets up their custom craftworld
which is trapped in system after a warp event fucked their drives
A Vindicare Assassin's mental programming (that was meant to suppress his human emotions that dont involve killing his target) failed, and he fell in love with an Eldar seer.
It was originally a very very cringy fanfic, but it got so meme'd that the Fantasy Flight Games writers wrote a semi-canon version in the background
Tbh the fanfic was decent, as best as you can do when one of the lovers is literally brainwashed
I say this as a person that read through the thing in like 3 hours
eldar farseer and her creepy latex clad stalker
Latex is pretty good
Its just generic "oh its a woman, we cant shoot a woman cant we? Oh and of course she needs help"
doesnt help that Vindicare's are thicc af
vindicares look chad af
Thats a far fetch
Sexy men~
He was gonna blow her brains out to begin with
it was until she took her helmet off
vindicare are prob the best assassin group imo
Yeah see?
@weak fernBut yeah. canon wise we only have those 4 things I posted above. A quote showing that the vindicare is named LIIVI in canon. That he does fall in love with an Eldar. Tho its not the same one from the Fanfic.
And then the other pic where the Eldar has changed paths to being a Ranger. While it looks like LIIVI was wounded and lost his Exitus RIfle, combat suit, and eye.
I love Callidus feet....
XD
So he runs on gamer brain? women arent real until he sees them directly
yeah but seeing someones face when they remove a mask can do the same thing to most people
since... you know, its suppose to dehumanize you
reeee
But I'm not gonna defend more of this fanfic over my breakfast so have at it
I know what this dude was going for when making this animation, its just 100% cringe
I just chalk it up to his mental condition failing. Bound to happen sometimes over the course of 10,000 years
Very allegorical
Also yeah that too medic
Deeldarize
Does assassin can be corrupt by chaos or Xenos ?
theres something wrong here
WHY ARE THEY SO SWOLE
WHY ARE THEY IN CQC
with their snipers?

The Tau realized this might be the one time someone is better than him at ranged.
😔
There was this other animation i once saw where the blood ravens sergean somehow got a jedi or something, made by the same person that animated a tau jumping around and melee killing a terminator by stabbing him in the head
Also yeah, he as a pulse carbine. He has a MUCH greater advantage at close range
Imagine Crysis, but its 40k Vindicares
that crysis helmet helps a lot
👀
Final mission: shoot eldar aquire eldar gf
A squad of Vindicares deployed to an island on a rebel world to rescue a mechanicus xenoarcheologist
@open marsh a squad ??? That prospect sounds terifying
You know. I can actually imagine a scene like that. You get an update on your visor of a new target. With the objective listed as "Kill target". But as you aim, the game starts fighting your control and not letting you put the crosshairs over her, and the objective changes to "Protect target".
That was meant as a joke :(
If they do this ill shoot myself

I mean if I was going 1 - 1 with Crysis. No less than 3 squads were deployed to the island. As well as Marines a battalion of Imperial Guard
Same
I want it now too smh
especially if it was like
Oh deff. But you cant help but easily imagine the character designer of Crysis was a fan of 40k
popping warrior testicles
Imagine if space marines had no balls there but every other enemies too
Fun fact about Vindicares their training/hypnoindoctrination allows them to fully utilize the datafeeds of their mask. Which is stated to be more information at once than even a regular Astartes can handle
Lmao gw fucking their own lore up
its smooth and sloped so sometimes your shots glance off
Possible ingame archivement: kill somebody after your bullet ricochets off a marines smooth crotch
Ah, yes, this one... The moment when an entire assassins squads get defeated by tau... The tau were named, it was like a pathfinder hero
To be fair that assassination force in the campaign managed to kill Aun'Killyourself'va so its not really a loss
AFAIK this don't refer to the vindicare, the guy is a rogue trader and the eldar is part of rogue trader retinue iirc
I'm pretty sure i think only like... the Vindicare died? And another one i cant remember
IIRC all died, but managed maybe to complete the objective
Yeah my memory is fuzzy on it
It was made as a reference to the original fanfic (sniper-type human teamed up with an eldar). Then was made even more obvious to be LIIVI and his Eldar GF in the Wrath and Glory game vi its "A Flame of the Heart" game card
Yes, i saw that, but i think it is more a nod to that story than those chars
Originally, yes. But kinda got retconned into being more obviously LIIVI and his gf
Tho the Eldar is obviously not Taldeer
(Taldeer is dead and never hooked up with a Vindicare Assassin)
I disagree in being that obvious, it is just a rogue trader retinue that nod at that fanfic
Ye its just a rogue trader cause thats from falling suns
Thats the sole surviving farseer from a craftworld you are sent to explore
the art for the card is just them re-using the book art
(very cool adventure btw)
But she is a Ranger. A Farseer is stuck on the path of the Seer and cant change to the path of the Outcast

read the book nuclear
Im actually going to find my copy now because this his piqued my interest
its a farseer that acts as an ally for the purpose of investigating a dead craftworld
its a real cool setup
I remember there being a Farseer in the game that can alley with you. But I dont remember her becoming a Ranger
she doesnt become a ranger, but thats how they styled her in the title art for some reason
And its not a PC cause eldar arent playable
In fact does RT, DH, W&G can really be 100% lorefriendly ?
I dont think its the same character from the game. They just used that art because it prominently showed an Eldar teamed up with a human. Indicating the Farseer could join you
depending on who runs the campaign they can yes
While the art itself was made in a vacuum as a reference to LCB
Looking at the gamebook. The Farseer in the campaign is a guy
Farseer Anaris
femboy farseer

I want it

based
LIIVI: the first human to acquire big tiddy Eldar GF
I made a little composite image of their story so far
where is this from
Korgoth of Barbaria
Found out that calling SM lieutenants “left-tenents” british style really pisses some SM fans off for some reason
Weird. "Leff-tennant" is just how we say it in Britain.
Ikr, which considering GW is british is funny to me
It's how Captain Titus addresses Lieutenant Mira, too.
Yea im thinking its how u say it in low gothic.
Maybe i should say it in the french pronunciation
Piss off the brits and the americans
And would be technically correct to boot.
Exactly xD
Anyone see that really sick Sarrin model that popped up on the 40k subreddit?
#1 girlboss in 40k
Nah its really just as said above GW and most of its writers being british
i dont midn it though its certainly alot easier than spelling leutieueuetenant
Im p sure its spelled the same just pronounced diff
I imagine lefftennet would be the pronunciation considering 40k is British
I spelled the pronunciation
It is. Lindybeige does a vid about explaining the meaning of the word and its use in a vid about platoons.
Word's spelled the same regardless
But yeah 40k being british is a reality that must be acknowledged since it's not only integral to how it's written and its origins but also the origin of a lot of 40k's issues
The only primaris left tenent i want is the left side half on the base of my commander battle suit

https://youtu.be/a15gihWu1SM?t=110 this is the vid and I won't go further off-topic.

I recall being confused in my youth about what the various parts of an army were - the sections, companies, battalions, brigades, platoons and the rest. Here I take eight minutes to describe t...
Lindy!
especially after gw went corporate and you saw a more varied range of writers with a wider range of views than when 40k was originally written by a bunch of nerdy punks
For those too lazy to tap the link 👀
Its not like i linked the post so people could upvote the good work or anything, but sure just assume i failed the embed xD
Oof
Thx for posting this tho. Im sad she doest have her marine slapper 4000 las pistol, but the lighting from the plasma is great
Indeed
To be 100% honest it could have been painted a little smoother but hes(or shes(idk man)) probably still learning
If she had that plasma pistol in the book, delvarus would have been a lot more peeved.
Yea they said they switched to the plasma to practice the lighting
I doubt she would have shot him with a plasma pistol tho
Hm maybe not but then again it is capt. sarrin. She told angron to fuck off
I mean in the book it seems she kinda does it on impulse so idk if a different side arm would change that
I need to reread betrayer
I think if she murdered a legionary she would have crossed a line. Than even angron would probably throw her out through a air vent
Thats very valid, but then again she did almost die for the las pistol shot. I believe you are correct tho, the librarian probably wouldnt have protected her
Ngl i think angron wouldnt give a shit
He kills his own legionaries, and quite likes sarrin so it be interesting to see what would happen but alas we never will
Helsreach is one of the best books
Helsreach is the only thing I have gone through outside of the heresy so far but it is really freaking great
Hey guys I have a Heresy question. I just finished The Outcast Dead not too long ago and I had a question about Arik Taranis. Was his actions basically the origins of the gene stealer cult? I looked into him online and couldn't find anything but what he did seems to be very similar to them.
...Presumably, and I'm just assuming here, there were Genestealer cults so long as there have been Genestealers active in the boundaries of the Imperium.
See that's what I was thinking but I could find no reference to him after that book. It makes sense to me. He knows about the gene seed, has enough knowledge to somewhat use it, and has a reason to get his hands on as many as he can.
Random thought:
If you have a Raptor chapter Primaris with a las-fusil. You essentially just have a Primaris Imperial Guardsman.

Are there any stories or instances involving Ogryn Psykers? Cause if not then I have a head canon that if there ever was an Ogryn psyker he wouldn't have to worry about using his space magic too much because the Warp is so unused to Ogryns that they just sorta absorb daemons and get their abilities like a swol Kirby.
idk if Ogryns are capable of being psykers
My head canon is iron clad until someone gives me evidence to the opposite.
Being a psyker requires your brain to function in a certain way. One way they can nullify psykers is by a lobotomy. Ogryn brains probably arent wired well enough to even manifest psykic powers
But hey. Thats the point of homebrew. Nothing explicitly says Ogryns cant be psykers
So GLHF

Also. I realized that the 11th Kappic Eagles Regiment of Tempestus Scions are based on on the U.S. Army (not in color tho). With GW even once posted a diorama based on Blackhawk Down
Lindy can be good for Common sense stuff like this, but he's very stubborn and biased, and sometimes uses "Pure Common Sense" to justify his opinions in the face of evidence
the trouble lies in that he'll always sound extremely reasonable and sensible, then you proof check and you're like "Oh that was a load of rubbish damnit Lindyyyy!"
granted he's very entertaining and I watch all his stuff
lol
Indeed
Lindybeiiiige
People sometimes forget that common sense is no historical evidence
Example: shads gambeson vikings
context?
I think a lot of medieval NERDS and I use that term offensively lol, think that all history was just the last 1000 years in europe
EG people shitting on Lars Anderson (granted his first video was TERRIBLY translated and over the top) because "Gambesons would stop his arrows"
effective conscript armour is about 1000 years old
before that most conscripts (90% of an army) went to battle naked pretty much
Chad Vikings immune to Arrows by virtue of not knowing they're being shot at.
while the history of the bow is 62,000 years old
Well shad said vikings wore gamberson because that would make sense. There is 0 evidence for that tho
yeah doubt
Gambeson actually requires that your society has excess cloth production
or stuffing or whatever to stuff the gambeson
also it requires that well
Gambeson is actually somewhat heavy
And thats usually followed by the argument "well we dont know they didnt do thing a or wore thing b"
Vikings like dto be FAST AS FUCK
an actual viking raid would look like someone speedrunning For Honor
raiders throughout history liked to be as light as possible
because that means you can get in and out faster, and also carry more loot
Thing is
and vikings did NOT want to be there when the militia finally arrived
They wore like mail hauberks tho and those are heavy as fuck
A gambeson is not heavy enough to restrict movement.
All weight is weight
Same with plate armor
Going in with just a helmet and a shield if you plan to actually fight anything is suicidal.
its also hot
It might slow you down a little but you can still perfectly move and fight in it
All armor is hot.
vikings didn't like to actually fight though
as in Raiders
if we're talking actual Vikings as in Norsemen going Vikinging
aka raiding
they charged in, took anything of value, and GTFO'd outta there
yes, that's my point.
Ideally, you don't want to fight if you want to raid.
But to assume everyone will just give you what you want is kinda naive.
The Saxons weren't pushovers, for one. Nor were most of the people on the Britannic isles.
Its the same the world over.
Problem is that leads to people thinking they ran into "battle" shirtless and shit
technically correct if raiding, a lot of cultures opted to go shirtless into battle if they had no armour
just to not get as hot
I don't like shad, he seems disingenuine to me
Just in general, a Viking Dane probably went with heavy clothing, something approaching padded armor/gambeson, if not those things specifically.
Rich Danes could afford better armor.
Lets remember, the Danes lived in a cold place
Dying of hypothermia is counter to raiding.
Or not genuine or we the word is
I like shad, but every person is going to have blind spots
He talks authoritatively on things he doesn't know a bit too often.
He has a specific line of interest and best he can do is theorize.
But thats a larger issue with historical youtubers.
He kinda reminds me of a not openly racist arch
Thats just wild guessing again
Okg same lmao
show proof of racism
I wouldn't say that...
I wouldnt say hes racist, he lust looks like arch
I said a not openly racist
Shad isn't likely at Arch levels of anything.
But he definitely has some sort of hitch here or there based on his religion.
He sounds like arch without the racist undertones
Like, he's said some things that made me uncomfortable in the past.
But not anything mask off.
There are very few hisorical youtubers i can enjoy, my favourite is ian laspina
The inventor of the lasgun?
lol
yeah but that's just people
People are going to say things that we aren't comfortable with
occasionally
I hate you
I was pretty triggered when Shad defended Goblin Slayer
...I know?
Noooooo
I acknowledged that it doesn't make him a bad person because he said a thing I didin't like much?
ah finally, true moral crimes we can hang him for
The pauldrons are the worst
misread then soz

Top notch content
Sadly inactive for quite some time now
Show proof pls
Just post the brigandine lol
Anyway.
Yes.
Danes, Jutes, Geats, whoever, any ocean going raider group would wear warm clothing.
The northern sea is fucking cold, and so is Scandinavia. There isn't a chance in hell they weren't layered up while traveling to their destination, given longships had no form of cover from the elements. Long story short, I find it very unlikely a Viking raider would go in with just his trousers and a melee weapon, or no armor in general.
He'd invest in a helmet, a shield, and maybe a spear if he had some money left over. Richer types might be able to afford a sword and a mail hauberk.
I'm down with this explanation
Clothing is... Deceptively good at making draw cuts, hacking, slashing, etc, less severe. Especially heavy/thick clothing.
Ah sorry SHOWPROOF is a massive meme in some gaming circles I am in
Where can I find a pic of the MemeBrigandine?
Come play COH2
don't worry, its only 90% nazi's
thats like
10% less than most ww2 games
Oh right
I can imagine
mainly it goes
"Unit X is garbage, needs buff"
"Doubt, Show Proof"
followed by 3 A4 pages of shittalking each other "unit x isn't bad, ur just trash at using it"
Oh right
the joys of competetive multiplayer groups
Thought you were talking historical stuff
But yeah wwii games are often full of. Certain type of ppl
Tbf i dont share the sentiment but I always play as Germany
At the risk of being labaled a wehraboo
Oof
I've played enough CoH2 to know that 90% of people who willingly choose axis powers fully believe that the King Tiger could kill god
I don't do that fite me
Never played coh2
Not much of a ww2 guy
More like 14th/15th century, recently got REALLY into 16th/early17th century shit
TBH
I play Oberkommando west purely for the field guns
But yeah...
CoH and CoH2 have the Wehraboo infestation bad.
5 man raketen squads was a mistake
Fuck, what was that thing...
The 7.5 cm leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18
I use like at least two or three of those every match, using them to support quick infantry pushes.
Its such a silly thing to have, some light artillery piece/field gun, and that's the only reason I use it.
Objectively worse than most of the other mortar teams imo. Regardless, CoH2 balance feels awfully off topic for this channel lmao
Fair.
but thats my fault, so im slapping my own wrist
(And one last thing. Its not to be effective, its for the meme, lol.)
Replace the words coh with dkok and were fiiiiine
Considering the DKoK do quite literally have field guns because ww1 aesthetic?
Actually yeah.,
Well, "Field guns."
They have ww1 esque howitzers, heavy mortars, etc.
I dunno I didn't think about that joke for more than 2 seconds
Take from it what thou wilst
DKoK take most of their inspiration from ww1 germany, but ww2 leaks in pretty frequently
Eeeh
Their uniform is french
I feel like its only because the fandom around DKoK makes them German-esque that people assume that.
They're really a mish mash of all the major participants of ww1.
In fairness, krieg is literally the german word for war
Nooooo
British mask, French helmet and greatcoat. German color scheme (Except that one regiment which is in French Blue.)
We've had this conversation
It's a ritual.
Spare me please
Well
I rest my case
Early war french.
Yee
DKoK more resemble late war french uniforms tbh.
Found no good example of that in time tho
👀
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ElElHjsXEAETZdl.jpg They have the biggest sausage.
Lmao
"Hey kid, wanna buy some schnitzel?"
"Welcome stranger, what are yah buyin'?"
His sausages look so good
" Oh oui, vous ne passerez pas Fritz" 😳
Man i got like 4 years french in school and barely understand shit lmao
XD
Hon hon hon les germains ils vont attaquer notre vin

Sorry I can't help it
