i think it is a warlord titan
and like
the eldar try to destory it
and all of it
it is just realy well made
kinda did
hence my everlasting hatred of knife eared xenos
fuck eldar (no pun intended)
i mean, the voice actors made a realy good job
i think there is an channel on yt
which has a playlist
of all voice lines is DOW

That music gives me nostalgia
alot of that dudes videos he ADDS music to the scene when it either didn't have music before, or he changed out the music
but he had AMAZING taste on what songs to add
this one he pulled the song from some anime i never cared to watch, but it fit the scene so well
Mission 10 Outro: Gabriel confronts Isador.
Music: Wolf's Rain Ost 1 - 07 - Shiro
honestly he should get some kind of a job in an industry that makes film or animation or something, because he's just so good at it
not just anyone can do that
ahhhh
yeaaahhhhh.....i know the feeling
i gave up on star wars after disney, people keep telling me to watch the mandalorian but i'm just DONE with it. 40k still has SOME good stuff so i'm sticking with it
but no idea what fandom i'll go to if 40k goes to shit
40k won't go to shit without an end times scenario
Bc it's not dependent on one medium
It can go to shit
no franchise lasts forever, one wrong decision and they could end up like Fantasy economically
but 40k is more sturdier than that so i doubt it'll happen ANY time soon
Well yeah if they started retconning like mad with PC stuff maybe but i don't really see that happening now
Yep me neither
maybe like long after we die 2 generations later lol
unless GW really messes up like i said
Speak for yourself i don't want to produce future generations lol
i mean i've HEARD they're starting to consider diving face first into making MAJOR changes to make the game more 'politically correct', i'm hoping that they tell these people to fuck off tho
Oh i hope so too
but yeah i doubt they'd do anything dumb like that tho
40k is already diverse and nobody cares what you are
its great
the only people they should care about, are their customers, at the end of the day
The very nature of wh40k opposes it
I've not really heard any real rumours about that, not that I trust at least
just standard internet doomsaying
Yeah you saw people's reactions when they released female genestealer magus
aka mostly that she looked great etc
minus the more toxic parts of the fandom 40k is fine for the time being
on the one hand i wouldn't wanna be one of those toxic fanboys who ruin things for everyone else
There are two sides of the fandom.
Those who get assmad over the most recent wrath and glory cover
And ok people
on the other hand, i still do not know what to think about knowing that khaela mensha khaine is so.....thicc
Theres alot of elf models who are.. oddly thic
i mean, lets be fair, of ALL the gods, khaine is the one who would most likely to be......curved like that
It means you appreciate thicc asses. That's natural
i guess isha but we don't really see her at all
It's an evolution thing
the name alarielle doesn't mean anything to me, sorry
the avatar of isha basically
1 sec
this is her in fantasy right
this is her in AoS
melon-crush-thicc-
it looks like she's riding a tyranid
"i couldn't find my car keys so i just grabbed the first swarm lord i could find"
Hey thats a beetle, dont be speciest!
Mmm she got legs I'd like to be sandwiched between
"we have OTHER cars, you don't need to ride a tyranid"
"but there were tyranids RIGHT THERE"
That's hot
waste of a good watermelon imo, i mean yeah it's cool but meh
Damn
it's probably because i grew up poor but i see this and all i can think is a poor family could live off that for 1-2 days
Reasonable salt
Anyway, healthy women is ๐
But, I like Warhammer Fantasy version of Isha a bit more than Aos version of her
But at those muscles... the healthiness... AoS wins.
I need a fine mix between two
Why the armour of Astartes has just WIDE crotch protection?
It was a very long and old question of mine, and maybe of others too.
to accommodate their adamantium balls of course
it depends on the model of astartes armor
And anyways, that is why I like the moddle of maker of Aatartes
no more wide spreading A.K.A. I did in my pants pose
yay
I love the retributors chapter symbol
I initially thought it was a skull with a turbo chad massive lower jaw lmao
i immediately guessed they're an IF successor chapter lol
you mean it isn't?
no it's a fist
โปA gauntlet that grabbing skull that has no jaw
Their doctrines make me think they are Alpha Legion
Yes I know they are Fists. I'm just saying
Nuclearmedic was never seen again
Small unit/cell tactics focused on eliminating HVTs and sabatoge.
Man getting a skull tattoo must suck so much more
The author said they are successor of Iron Hands by the way
kek
Look no further, ye who value thine lives
ye it says imp fists

Anyone read the newest Calgar comic?
No I hate marvel
I like it
It's nicely grimdark
Kids murdering each other. Giant grain harvesting tractors running over a slaveserf shanty town (when the nobility of the planet have been shown to live in near unimaginable luxury)
That sounds hilariously over the top
Me in my combine harvester. Harvesting my serfs
Also shows what happens when you are shot with a bolter. Your upper half just goes pop
Indeed but just the power of the impact would be enough to detach your torso from your hips
Or alteast dig enough for the explosive to allow it
Or you know
the finale of Rambo 4
as ridiculous as it is lol
Rambo IV - .50 CAL (2008)

just needs more tiny explosions
the round is mass reactive btw
so it wont explode untill it hits the soft bits
I know but the effect isn't instant its going to take a mili second to explode on impact
yes
So just by the power of the caliber your target is in a pretty bad shape
Then it explodes
i mean
And liquifies everything
funny thing is
the british army used a muscket with the same caliber as a boltgun round
the brown bess
so its more the fact it explodes than the actual caliber
So the big dakka has always been a british thing, but since the gun was between 1722-1838 , did it use black or white powder ?
that idk off the top of my head
Not really, guns dont quite work like that
actual a bolt round is a rocket not a bullet
I know that
But that doesnt matter
its just velocity
the difference between a bullet and a bolt round is the method which creates that velocity
But getting shot with a bolt round wouldnt just blow you in two from the velocity alone.
The explosive however
the solid fuel motor in the back of the bolt round would give it far more velocity (and sutain it longer) than a normal bullet propelant ever could
Since smokeless powder, aka what I knew as white powder was made in 1852 by the french
The physics of bolter rounds is always a hot topic
yes
Either way, I learnt something about the brits today
Is that , even back then they loved their dakka
lol
where do you think us americans got the addiction?
"BOBBY! bring the 62 pounders around."
we got rubble to make
Is that the comic with spesh mahrens just fighting mook humans?
I remember seeing a post abt that
They don't only fight humans
Ahh
i dont even want to imagine the size of a 62 pound cannon ball....
I was gonna say, If it was just unorganized mooks, what a onesided thing
most battles with the space marines are onesided freakshows
Its ||a black legion attack on Marneus Calgar's homeworld||
its failbaddon's bois what do you expect?
See my imperial lore is small but I feel like seeing muscleman #322 stomp humans with no chance is boring
But that particular image was ||from Calgar's past. His first teacher was a failed Aspirant who turned out to be a khornite cultist||
it's not like it's news
its 40k
It's both.
everyone is evil as shit
correct tho in flight its a rocket
I love them
Kids getting sacrificed to Khorne
i wonder what tech lingus sounds like
Kids murdering other kids
Those mecahnicus guys are extremely human
I wish we would get some more Ig visual media
I prefer the ones in priest of mars
same
I mean not all are full on machine 010
Its an enginseer and a Skitarii
IG are more human, more interesting than ur avg spesh buzz lightyear imo
Yes, i know, i recognized them
This will do as an alternative
but the space marine fanclub wets its crib when ever there beloved superhumans arent mentioned every few seconds
gyrojet rounds
the 9mm rocket pistol was also one
Im just here for the relics. I mostly started reading the comic just to see more of the gauntlets of Ultramar
The volcanic pistol?
yeah and both were terrible
NASA had it made cuz at the time they thought normal gund wouldnt work in space lol
why they thought that i will never know
The problem with gyrojets was that they didn't offer anything worthy more than normal bullets, sure, little to no recoil, but crap velocity out of the barrel ,and it would became good after 9-12 meters
That gyrojet or something is just literally a rocket
For what i saw, that calgar comic is bad from a lore POV, medium life expectancy of 30 years in ultramar? Yeah, what about nope
Enginseers and skitarii talking like humans? Also nope thanks...
plus dont khornate cults avoid such ritual sacrifing?
Made a personal firing nuke morter too
people of inventors i heard
taking blood thru battle is perferd as far as i know
It depend on the cult, but they would prefer an arena over that kind of sacrifice
Ah, the coldwar era things
yes
Everythings were nuke
do you know why?
The only time we try to make inventive stuff is when we're trying to figure out how to kill each other more easily lol
Cold era i hear? Well, the g11 was an amazing weapon, and it was german
Space gun?
cuz the USSR would have kicked NATO's ass in a few months in a convential war
The G11 video from forgotten weapons was also posted here by timmy, the video editor fatshark... It was nice to see other people knowing about it
so NATO had to constantly threaten to drop the sun on them to keep the tanks docked
UNGUIDED AIR TO AIR NUKES
Were a prototype as well*
it got crazy
Nuclear history before we knew abt nuclear fallout was whacky
Most of cold era nuke weapons were also fake, i mean, probably real on paper, but not in reality, or so i read some time ago
Or that radiation tends to stick to things
YEP
the whole "critical mass" thing killed most of these projects
Thinking about radiation make me chuckle thinking on how it is disregarded in the imperium, and the Ad. Mech. even use it as a weapon
Tsar Bomb: Am I a joke to you
The Davy Crocket was real, but it never made it past testing since it was discovered there was no way to actually use the thing without the fallout blowing back on the user and his allies. Basically the max range of the weapon was far lower than the fallout range
they knew it did but not that it lasted for millions of years
also USSR = Skaven when it comes to testing nukes
im sure if the cold war didnt end sooner
they'd be like
Not at first. There are videos of sailors going back onboard a ship that was irradiated. noone had any idea the thing was still hot.
"hey lets shoot one at the moon"
the US army detonated nukes outside las vages with GIs in trenches within the followout zone without any form of protection
Centruion tanks were tested in Australia by nuking it to see how it handled it
the tank survived well enough and then the tank crew drove it back to base...pretty much right after...with zero decontamination or protective equipment
how do you think they learned what it took to survive the initial explosion
That is US, they did a lot of experiments and even hide some of them when the radiation flew all over the states
yup
also that same tank would later be rekt by an RPG in vietnam
its a dark legacy
The Brits would also test nukes here in locations suspiciously close to where indigenous communities were ๐ฅด
Aaaand they were caught by kodak, or it was canon? Because photo material got damaged, they sued the state but agreed to be silent if the government would tell them when they were to test
tbh all 40k is is just the really fucked up shit we humans have done for centuries x10
pretty much
True, few are the places that are still good, and when they are discovered they get nuked quite often
and thats why i say its the most realistic and likely outcome for humanity as a space fairing race
the united federation of planets is a pipedream and the imperium is a future we should never let happen
but like thats the thing
humanity doesnt care about anything
just like how the ice caps will all melt eventually
We keep saying we'll do something about it but we really wont lol
There was a federation before the long night AKA age of strife, and it was all nice and good, until the men of iron revolt
Then things took a very bad turn
People say this but its not like humanity is exclusively turbofascists lol
Very few places are
but it was proped up by the men of iorn's slavery
the name does mean slave
uwu
Most people do want to do something abt climate change
Disagreed:
Lmao
Its just a very few in power who have (capital) interests
Yeah sorry thats a better way to put it
Doomers man
It wasn't slavery at first, they were machine, then they developed consciousness, some went bat crazy and others didn't want to die
its same as how we'll never all drive electric cars
but yeah like even if we become a star fairing race it'll probably be more like the expanse
Love that show
I'm gonna solve global warming by leaving my fridge open
Also yes, the imperium may be the worst government ever, but some planets still got quite decent one
rn thats the biggist if in human history
Some may even have elected planetary governor
you wont have to for long
yeah can't wait to live in a literal wasteland
Fellas whomst go to mars expecting scifi them live without most commodities in a shithole dune
everyone that follows musk up there will be dead in a few earth months
Dont make me do an australia in space joke
only if I get a space brisbane
If I ever get the chance to live on Mars , you bloody well know I'll praise the Monissiah
That is just catachan
Imagine paying a fortune to become trailer trash on mars
oh you mean the nids
Also yeah i meant more as in how earthern people will be like "OH THOSE MARTIANS THINK THEY'RE BETTEER THAN US?"

because even if every person in the world looked the same they'd find something to punch each other over
feels bad man

clearly we need aliens to fight
and unite against
REEEE
your brain must feel like Tzeench's personlay plaything at times. sorry
I'm used to it lmao
lol
Agree
my life is a slow clap
My life is a golf clap
so um what type of knight is this?
I would say knight paladin
I would say they are still paladin
With a improved chainsword
And rocket launcher
which i love cuz its like "ill see your ork zappas and raise you an imperial lightcannon!"
can the paladins have a mounted weapon?
Yes
Alright, what is the most obscure bit of lore you know? Mine consist of guns that are barely around in the universe.
radical inquisitorial factions. one of them wants to kill the emperor for good because they believe that then he'll be reborn somewhere else and consolidate the imperium
i mean
WELL NOW.
cuz take him off the thrown and he should just rezz himself
ofc all of terra will drown in a demontide but
Plus the Astronomican will be extinguished.
true
star child intensifies
ofc he chould keep powering it after he fully heals
Anyway, anyone else with their most obscure lore knowledge?
Also, the inquisitorial rosette is also an ID card and a usb stick.
Learned that one from Inquisitor Martyr.
I did from eisenhorn
As well as each one being distinct, unique to every inquisitor.
There are also ordo specific designs
they are also used as seals of athority
being able to "stamp" their signature on any communication/document as prove of authication
Yeah, and you show one and you're golden
You got any obscure lore bits Water?
they are also genelocked to the given inqusitor so they are impossable to steal and use
im still cutting my teeth in the lore
Completely offtopic rage moment: You have known my disdain for every guard regiment basically being "Cadians in all but name" but the newest Calgar comic issue went the step farther. Apparently there are Cadians in Ultramar.
THE FAR SIDE OF THE FETHING GALAXY
I most general stuff and some obscure stuff, but I'm still ignorant enough to need more info.
That image on his pauldron is that of the Cadian regiments. sybolizing the Cadian gate
There is no reason for a Cadian to be in Ultramar. They have their own Guardsmen regiments, the Ultramar Auxilia
i mean
both guardsmen factions in DOW1 dark crusade and soulstorm are from the same regiment lol
They ruined a change to introduce a roman-mechboi regiment GREAT
Also they arent, one is the Kauravan conservators
is it really so wild to imagine that a cadian regiment would be functioning inside ultramar
the other is the Kronus 1st Liberators
These are Ultramar guardsmen
idk what the exact fluff is for where cadians actually mainly operate but idk
Also obvs just. cadians are the most recognizable etc etc
Such a missed oppoturnity tbh
i meent the cadian gate symeble thing
Around the eye of terror / cadian gate. literally the opposite side of the galaxy from Ultramar
it makes a bit of sence for the liberators
Its just bcuz Cadia is most identifiable in media. Its like why u see Vior'la on every tau thing now
but not the conservators
Thats not an excuse. The comic isnt even about the Imperial Guard. just use the Ultramar Auxilia.
It called the artist is a lazy shit who didnt bother to look up that not the entire Imperial guard are Cadians
I'd like to see Sa'cea art too but itbjust be that way
meh
I like the urban colors!
The artist probably only got minis for reference
I know thats what they did. They went to the GW website, looked at the IG model and figured "Oh, that must be what all IG look like"
๐
I dunno idk the difference between a storm trooper and clone trooper either, chances are if you asked me to draw them and didn't tell me which is which I'd fuck it up
that's- ~a pretty reasonable assumption tbh~
fans being big on some piece of fluff doesn't mean a comic writer is somehow in the wrong for not incorporating it as an easter egg into their product
The writers should have noted it.
especially with how big 40k is
The artist works with what they're given
Yeah it would've been a nice touch if they didn't like, literally have the cadian symbol on them
I'd just say don't blame the artist necessarily
If you're drawing for sthyou know jack shit about you'll ask the writers for refs
yee
If they send you to the gw store you get cadians
Well the conversation has derailed in a different direction. Don't think I could correct it even if I wanted to.
yeah, then I could have just written it off as some kind of PDF who get lesser equipment (I can imagine Ultramar Auxilia stuff is better quality than Cadian stuff)
Cadian stuff is the basic bitch of equipment
It's easy to do better but you could do worse
But Ultramar is a lot of worlds so who knows
i don't imagine that cadians are like, strictly limited to the area around the eye of terror. if existing fluff says they are then fair enough but it's all just v easy to justify as yeah lmao cadians are here for whatever reason
kinda lazy but it isn't violating anything afaik
Call it the cadian diaspora
Yeap, the lore says a lot of regiments adopted the cadian way and even now, some cadians commanders, especially Pask go around and recruit the best from other regiments to remake the old Cadia regiments
Pask has already recruited multiple Valhallans Leman russ drivers into his Iron regiment
btw where exactly is Kreig on the galaxy map?
Its South West
Where the Imperium is currently having issues with rebellion and GSC
GSC?
oh
https://i.redd.it/bmwhk6mgugv31.png Near bottom left corner of the map by Macharia
number 34
also has the deathkorps really only be servering the imperium as a whole for just over 1k years?
i do forget when exactly krieg was meant to have rebelled tbh
In 433.M40
wow
Thats when theyd eclared independance
but like, pre rebellion iirc it would've just been any other world. The whole rebellion turned it into a blasted hellscape
949.M40 is when they took back the planet finally. Took 'em 500 years of war
Story wise they are not the oldest regiment yes
yeah iirc it was said they are one of the newer ones and already one of the most important ones
I don't know how Krieg regiments haven't swelled way past Cadian numbers. Cause the lore says Krieg sends 50 million men per year for guard tithes.
they're sent to the worst warzones and die
ummm they also loss about that mean in every warfront they fight in
Also true. 40k numbers are all over the place
500 years
like
what the fuck do they do all that time
lol
there are penal regiments will less casualties
Tea time
I'd say that 50 million probably isn't alll that much on a galactic scale, especially with how the attrition rates should rightfully be WAY higher than the professional ass cadians, but also yeah
Tunnel Wars
numbers aren't real in black library
I reject these numbers and substitute my own
Yet SM chapters are limited to 1k guys
maybe the administratum just took that long to realize they stopped paying their tithes tbh
๐คฃ
Im almost sure nobody ever cares about that
Unless you're the black templars. Where you have 7k
as soon as they noticed it took a few more decades to get a few guard regiments to murderbone it
poor girlyman
nobody listens to him
they spent every second of that fighting traitors
They do but even the Codx abiding Ultramarines who's Priamrch wrote the damn book have found another way to do it
THE PLANET WOULD LITERALLY RUN OUT OF HUMANS BY THEN.
REEEE
Oh right
Just make more humans ๐
Damn long-necked-aliens from star wars
for one Kreig was a massive hive world home to untold billions
They went full Kamino in the bunkers beneath their nuclear-wiped planet surface
if the guardsmen insist they came from vats don't listen to them they're just himbos
Grand Army of the Re- Wait.
THE MOUSE IS GONNA HEAR US BE QUIET
tbh hot take but star wars is even worse with scale
a pan galactic war?? with only?? that many???
good and disney do not belong in the same sentence
kriegers are just dark himbos indeed
star wars is space fantasy without the actual interesting fantasy
though tbh very few space fantasy settings can even remotely be trusted with the scale of a full galaxy
You gotta cover it up with samurai imagery and western stuff
if any uwu
btw the droid army at that time was almost a billion strong
uhh
So like Stellaris did Dilara ?
that's ~also tiny~
Remember tho. The Clone Wars was orchestrated from the very beginning. They were fighting more so over key planets than every planet.
only a billion?
OH SHIET
tbh star wars and 40k don't have to compete, i like them both
correct most of the galaxy remained at peace
how many key planets?
It definitely hasn't even remotely got as strong of an aesthetic as 40k
I only like the brutalist style of the empire, everything else is indeed meh
imagine not liking bathrobes
i like shit that looks nice
like. 40k has all the john blanche stuff, the whole gothic grimdark-ish vibe
it's extremely distinctive
Budget?
to be fair like. the whole aesthetic of star wars is still informed by the original films
that wasn't a budget thing, it was just the 70s and early 80s lol
Didnt blanche even design AoS stuff
and because i can illustrate shit in scifi but with historical aesthetics
Deja vu
his sigmarite stuff is cool as fuck
uh i haven't heard about it? p sure they did do some fantasy art but unsure
!!! that looks badass
looking good
Ohhh that's cool
it's the like, definitive warhammer style to me tbh
I've never seen that art before
imperial officers could have passed for a imperial guardsmen lol
nothing beats it and i did not know that existed
He has some rare AoS stuff take a look if you want on google!
grimdark steampunk dwarves
Nice!
the best trio of words
also u can use real historical uniforms for inspo and it will look good. im using the prussian cuirassiers as ref for the commissar (replace hat)
Funnily it does v much mean that you can kitbash historical models into 40k with impunity
Ironclad gatling gun go brbrbrbrbr
also I like how with blanche's AoS art you can just see the manager on the side "no exposed tits or high heels mister blanche"
"You little shit do you know who i am"
When Deathwatch shows up.. Yeah you better get runnin'
ye and thats what i love
stick a napoleonic ass helmet onto some IG model and just oh yea it's uhhh a traditionalist nobility-ish regiment
Wdym
bc im nuts about ww2 and prior militaria
Deathwatch works for the Inquisiton
i mean. the commissars literally wear hussar dolmans
You're either executed or are unvoluntary drafted into a retenue
yee
and the vostroyans wear 19th century busbies
even samurais can fit into 40k, just place a stupid aquila on their helmet and some skulls and you're set
i like the other model of commissars
thats what GW does with all the regiments lol
where they actual wear the overcoat
Is it just me or is that guardsman in the image up there running away with Saruman's Palantir? ๐
^
just put a coat on a hussar like this and swap the hat again and bam. commissar
invariably
it lacks the coatcape
Its as if GW is slightly unoriginal
I kinda wanna just buy some zulu/boer war ish brits for that
๐
gonna make some praetorians
Praetorians!
i just said put the coat on a hussar like this
or whatever they were called
oh mb
p much, and their reg uniform beside the coat is hussar or cuirassier
i thought they got their name from the soviat commissars
yeah that was the primary inspiration afaik
Get da mekboy to rewire da synapse fing and da boyz got themselves a looted carnifex.
the actual commissars looked p boring tho
The 40 commissars are inspired from the Napoleonian war commissars
That did shoot the soldiers that tried to run away
what did they wear anyway?
so did the soviat ones
yeah it was olive green
im not a big fan of soviet military aesthetics tbf
kinda imagining how that would work with muskets tbh
firmly convinced the germans did it best with the french as a close second
I beleive the french did it before the russians on that one
But the 40k commissars are literally using the french coat + russian hat
maybe i'm just biased against them cus nazis but imo the whole german uniform thing is overrated
Germans kind of looked cooler, especially since hugo boss pretty much made sure the outfits looked as good as possible for hte propaganda value
that looks a bit like the 40k commissars i like
They were hardly functional t ho
FHJNFHN
YEAH
BUT IS CRAP
FHNDF
DFJDS
they were designed by some nazi resident designer
But yeah i just never say this outloud so people dont think im some facist or something lol
i just like clothes
but like, never has there been a better military fashion move than to put a whole ass eagle on your pickelhaube
ever
ever.
iirc hitler himself claimed to have designed it much like he did the sawstica
and there never will be
they're too tight and just. goose-steppy. The whole baggy pants going into high boots thing doesn't do it for me
Totally Original Designโข๏ธ
i prefer looser-ish uniforms personally
i actually have such pants irl and they are super comfortable. ww1 patern
The only thing Hitler designed was the splatter on the bunker wall omegalul
LOL
incredible
good lord
And mayb ethe streaks as the ruskis dragged his corpse through the streets
but dont shit on riding breeches
they are very comfortable for people with thicc thighs
SIMP
this is true
eh like
unless it's a stupid uniform
Killed fascists AND looked good doing it
I'm not super into the whole uniform thing personally. It can look good but the whole military obsessed archetype usually vexes me
that is good
Most ppl with a WW1/WW2 military obsession are... questionable at times
Not that they're all bad it just
look, im anti authoritarian. i just have a kink for uniforms and artillery.
makes yo uthink
SHUT UP HANS
IM RIGHT.
you are right
ye p
like
...in my defense im obsessed about the renaissance too
you've kinda gotta distinguish between the people who just like uniforms and like
that type
Yee
yeah...
YEAH BOI
like, you can be interested in the stuff, but you can't be invested
WHF was king shit for making a fantasy game about germanrenaissance stuff rather than generic english/french stuff
Krubers got Girth alright.
LANDSKNECHTS BE ROCKIN
They do

Man, It'd be really cool if we got a special like, idk, christmas model or something for the U5 for AoS
for T A A L
for its funny how people get confused by the heavy german influnce on the FB empire when they say its based off the holy roman empire
The Belgians + Germans had great style
MF REALLY INVENTED THE HOLY ROMAN HOT PANTS
Empire is just based on: EUROPE IDK
i mean the germans ran the holy roman empire for over a thousand years
which is why the holy roman empire was not: Holy, Roman, or an empire
like "Markus Helborg"
it's just [vague kinda witch hunting-ish renaissance europe]
THIS is why i said german military design is tops
and places like
landsknechts
"Schulessesstaffel"
meanwhile bretonnia is just [vague chivalry obsessed 12th century europe]
hey
and thats a fucking lie that fucking bitch ass voltaire said
MY TONGUE HELP
[also arthurian shit]
corect it was a very losss alliance of many small kingdoms
It's really interesting too, I recently learned that Witch Hunts weren't really a thing in medieval/renaissance times. They were a early modern thing(Salem) exclusively p much
FUCK brettonia empire FOREVER
fine, it was a little holy
Zhe Landyโข๏ธ
My understanding is witch hunts have been historically a little more archetypal to america yeah
Lady of the lake bathwater giving them superpowers
yes the malleus maleficarum was penned in the 15th century and the witch hunts blossomed during the protestant-catholic wars
Especially the pilgrim hats i think?
them bastards
ummm in the dark ages that was not the case
i dont know why thats associated with witch hunters
as Liecht said
also the dark ages is an outdated stupid fucking term
Always the worst kind of people and extremist ideologues obsessed with WWII uniforms
cus like. puritans were basically just hey we're too crazy to be accepted here so lets go off into the new world so we can normalize our batshit teachings away from the religious and social establishment
it's early/high middle ages
this is true
over 3k people where burned at the stake in the first inqusition
Ayy proper historical terms. Very Pog
man FUCK the puritans they were WACK
Isnt it called the dark ages because like
we know nothing about it?
im a reenactor
they ARE wack
time is wack and subjective
not that it was terrible
Should we move this convo over to offtopic? Not really 40k lore anymore. xD
literally just
Niceo
no
MOVE TO OFF-TOPIC LADS
yeah lets move to off topic
MOVE IT MOVE IT!

Hello fellow comrades of the Emperor, I have a question concerning known renegade regiments or chaos cults
I want to do a campaign in Dark Heresy for some friends (in order to see how I can improve myself in GM also) but I want to use Khornate or Tzeenchian cult or renegade guards. What are your advices for this ?
Blood Cult is the biggest Traitor Regiment of Khorne
They are not crazed berserker but work mostly like the normal Guards (Lasgun/Autogun, with mostly Light Tank and Psyker/Gore Mage)
Blood Pact you mean ?
The sky's the limit with traitor guard, there are functionally infinite regiments you can write as going renegade for any reason. Like, if you wanna dedicate it to a particular god then you'll defo want to have them suit that god tho
Tzeentch is def the least common one for that. That tends to mean more into the like, secret society cult ish thing, it's probs easier to write about the other three gods or just chaos undivided
I have an vague idea of what I want to do but that's why I want to pick traitor guard or chaos cult which has a little lore
With this, I could write a homemade lore about that and adapt myself
Thank you for your advices. I'll check more about Tzeench cult or traitor guardsmen. It'll be really funny
Yee you could defo just look around on lexicanum or whatever for a regiment that interests you
Anyone know what would have happened to the IG if GW did the fast forward thing with WH40K? Since the primaris were the new version of space marine what would have been the IG?
god thats a horrifying thing to think about
If we go by what TheNuclearMedic said the imperium would have been in a better state, so maybe the IG would may have been something more than "ah ah flashlight" or "we will drown in blood, ours or theirs" kinda stuff
honestly i wouldnt be surprised if GW did Primaris Guard at some point lol
the existence of Primaris Marines alone kind of shows they dont care much about the aesthetics of the universe as much anymore
Tempestus Scions Plus Ultra
Probably more on the line of the solar auxilia, i mean, the amazing thing about IG was that you could get different regiments, but if i understood that right, there are only cadians and some catachans available
I don't know, i like the setting and the lore, i'm not into models yet, but that is what i managed to get from people discussing models
Yee thats p much right
They cut support for most regiments
Gotta make them primaris lieutenants
oh yeah, they've progressively been cutting the available regiments down to basically nothing
like, one sec
im not saying i would enjoy primaris guardsmen, but if they gave the guard more twin barreled tanks, the mammoth tanks from command and conquer were super cool as shit, so i'd be down
Or probably they have already prepared the place for the new guard, which i must admit, i thought they were doing exactly that when they announced the tempestus scions from the ordo tempestus
Yeah all we have on the site now is cadians, catachans and the old ass metal steel legion
votroyans, valhallans etc all gone
they do highkey need to just. go over some of the old kits
rest in pieces
the cadian kit has overall aged pretty well but just
pls
it's been a long time
The catachans haven't aged so well.
and the aforementioned steel legion are still whole ass metal send help
it kinda seems like a trend to make armies more homogeneous in 40k. We've seen it with IG, tau ~everything is a mechsuit, much less focus on the auxiliaries~ and space marines with how primaris are all just
kinda uniform, across all chapters
it's pretty unfortunate
making it easy for themselves, it seems
Simple- all guard are cadians now. After cadia was destroyed the cadian diaspora seeded the cadian line throughout the entire guard who are now all cadians. Cadians everywhere. Cadians
For cadia and the four armed emporer!
nOOO
kriegers are to an extent are they not?
Time to make some more cadians, pucker up boyo
actually yeah good example
also jokes aside they more or so actually do this, aka make babies in ships during trips to other warzones
ive always assumed the evolution of th IG was one where the troops terrified the commissars
to the point where they are there to make sure the troops DONT kill themselfves
I mean, what other entertainment is there on a super long voyage
Gotta keep morale up

It is not entertainment, it is close quarter combat practice, and the fact that they keep doing practice even in their rooms (if they have them) is just a testament to their duty...
We can start again if you have something to say
Well I'd need to read eveyrhting again
I was busy changing my tires and wrapping gifts
Well I had a quick look and Tempestus could be considered the Primaris Marines of guardsmen
They are deepstrike specialists with nicer equipment and better training
Kasrkins are a type of Tempestus Scion, specific to Cadia right? Essentially the same in general?
Cuz my god were their description/skills in Eisenhorn series were badass
Yes, they are tempestus scions equivalent, the most promising solder in the youth armies (also called whiteshield) were taken to become kasrkin, they are trained in different places and the training is harsh
do all imperial worlds follow the same economic systems? or can they choose lets say if they want to have a capitalist or communist system as long as they pay their tithe?
It depends of the planet
But yes each world is free to have their own economical system as long as the tithe is paid and they revere the Emepror
As long the world pay the imperial tithe they are free to do whatever they want unless it conflict with the imperial law... Unless you are a frontier world, then you are really free to do whatever you want
That is pretty accurate.
yee, meaning if you're writing a 40k thing you have immense freedom with how you wanna do individual words/systems/cultures inside the imperium
does that go for the local government systems too? like if one planet wants to have a democratic system for its officials
plus heck they can even get away with not paying their tithe for a while, until they get assblasted into the warp once the imperial bureaucracy notices after some decades
yee
it can be done in any way. Usually black library writers just default to an aristocratic oligarchical thing, with the pampered ruling class having fancy estates etc, but it can be anything
the imperium isn't bothered
shoot people in the streets? pay ur tithes. communist society? pay ur tithes. pure fuckin' anarchy? pay ur tithes
i think the anarchy one isnt possible right? cause it would count as a revolt against the planetary governor i imagine
Yes, but also no, democracy and progress is seen as heresy, the imperium also like to have just one guy to talk with when they have to collect stuff, there is also the thing about religious doctrine where the planetary governor is chosen by the emperor so it cannot changed unless someone more chosen manage to get the power and all that stuff
so the cutoff is at the planetary governor
Tanith had an elector, but i don't know if it was really elected by people or by nobles or it was just a name
I don't imagine it would be an issue so long as the tithes are paid somehow. which would honestly be something that's interesting to explore
so as long as there is a planetary governor, religious institution, pays tithes, and has rule of law
a complete anarchy that is still able to collectively recognise that they need to satisfy the imperial authorities
it can be anything after that
tbh I'd honestly just draw the line at pays their tithes
idk from what ive read it seems the arbites are not too happy if there is rampant murder and high level crime going on in a planet
Kinda yes, but remember that if you harbor dangerous ideas, like the fact that all governors should be elected, then the imperium will use the heresy casus belli
probs no guarantee that would even be arbites on every world
remember that hella imperial worlds will have little to no infrastructure at all. Like, a very low population, few urban-ish areas
yee i think it would reasonably depend on how much scrutiny a world is under
some inquisitor or other imperial authority might show up to whip them back into being ideal citizens if the world is showing some undesirable practices or whatever
Also, you can revolt against the planetary governor, but still be loyal to the imperium and it will simply ignore what happened
but the imperial authority would probably have to show up before knowing that, i don't imagine the imperial bureaucracy places every individual world they have listed under enough scrutiny to really notice
Unless the planetary governor was appointed by the imperium
In summary, it is hella complicated
i guess that makes sense, if a planet gets to the point of an entire revolution against the governor he was probably fucking up big time so its better he gets replaced
ye. Like, the general vibe is that the imperium doesn't tend to give a fuck, they have about a million planets to keep track of and a lot can fly under the radar, be lazily ignored or be strategically ignored
There are a lot of factors at play in that
plus the imperium is awful at keeping track of its territory
Well, ya a system can go out of compliance for years or decades and then it take just as long for the Imperium to think about dealing with it.
big important worlds might be kept under a close eye but some random death world halfway across the galaxy with a population of 500,000 probably won't get much attention, even from the sector level-ish governance
The imperium is awful at a lot of things
ye, it's 50/50 proactively terrible and hilariously incompetent
True, but when it do and if there are no other things more pressing, well ,that is bad
the imperium is a mood
i mean you cant really fault the imperium on that, bureaucracy in an empire with a million planets and no instant way to transport messages will always be shit
the imperium is the epitome of "i'll do it tomorrow"
There are also people trying to improve it, but it is so bloated that it would probably better really to sacrifice some territory to consolidate and get more stable, but that also conflict with the doctrine of "MuH gAlAxY"
Even Guilliman was like "....aw fuck"
Yeah, but was also for other reasons, mostly the thing with the ministrorum... He had so much hope that people would not devolve into religious fanatics and instead he found out what he most feared...
further the roman parallel by splitting the empire into 2
(didnt that happen actually)
lol yea the logistics of running a galaxy wide empire in the 40k setting, with the technology they have, is just
I imagine he was like "damn, i'm still in the nightmare"
especially given how deeply boned it is
Girlyman couldn't even fully piece together the full human calendar iirc
10k years of grimdark and 5k years of even deeper grimdark before that kinda sets progress back to zero
Yeah, he managed to narrow it to "we may be in the last years of the M41 or in the first years of M42"
He briefly considered that maybe they should have let Horus win and destroy the whole Imperium rather than it become what it has
The thing is that with the warp you cannot even have accurate timing calculations
I know, it is what he say, or what he tought, when talking to the emperor IIRC
Or just before meeting him
So I've decided on my custom regiment, just working on some specifics. Fairly excited.
Uuuuhhh, interesting, give details if you want
Thinking the regiment nickname will be "Vitrifiers" or "Glassmakers". Infantry, flamers, and maxed out deathstrikes
Pile on objectives, melt enemy obsec
Nuke the biggest formation or unit
Repeatedly
You'll get the world back
Better than losing it, but not by much
That sound a lot similar to the miasman redcowls... They too get the world bakc, but a bit charred
"Glassmakers" sounds very dramatic, but also kinda misleading
if I heard it in passing, I'd probably take it literally
and expect them to have glass weapons or something
Or Glass shard armour
There is a regiment that use glass like armours IIRC, in ghostmaker, from the tanith series (amazing series)
That what I was thinking of
Glassers might work better, the word is pretty much only used as a verb in reference to intense bombing
true
just a suggestion, I like them as is tho
"Sintering is the process of compacting and forming a solid mass of material by heat or pressure without melting it to the point of liquefaction."
The Sintermen?
You do know atomic bombs leave glass at the site, right? And I assume flamers can hit the melting point of sand, probably
The name is supposed to sound dramatic
I actually heard a similiar thing to this in r/40klore
in that case it was "What happens if a lasgun pierces the sand in a sandbag"
And some people made up the fact that it probably actually turns it into glass and the guardsmen rarely do it to pass the time here and there
i liked it
